Abdiel did not cut the Gun Sniper's forward speed, watching the Lance Stag on his monitors. As the Jager moved, as expected, he grinned, admiring its gracefulness, its barely restrained power. Indeed, Kyrea was a skilled pilot, and his green handling of the Gun Sniper must seem silly in comparison. But that Lance Stag was coming up now, and he had already moved on from such private musings, following in the path blazed by the elk-like Zoid before the tail end of the landslide could come down and block it off, though he was certain that he nearly lost the poor Gun Sniper's tail in the process. That Stag certainly made a handy bulldozer.

Without a word, smug in his silence, he watched as the Lance Stag galloped off ahead, a burgeoning gap opening between them. He'd have to figure out a way to compensate for his Gun Sniper's slower speed, or at least take advantage of its greater agility.

Keeping his eyes on the monitor, he watched for the other Zoids. That landslide couldn't keep them for long-- he wouldn't be surprised if the Jager was already snapping at his heels.

((:3;; hope it works? X3;; And Natachan-- we've all been taking great liberties with the skills of our Zoids. XD It's not really that important ^^ The Lance Stag does have a top speed that's greater than all but the Jager, I think, so it's not entirely implausible that Xack could pass them. :3 ))

Ooc: It wasn't the speed that I meant. But whatever. I'll shut up now.

{Just tell me the problem and I'll try to change myself.
I don't want the whole race to seem unfair because of what I do... ^^;

@Lei: I'll wait for one more reply before replying...
Because I'm stuck on what to say. xD;;}

(( I believe the part that sounded most unfair was saying that you slowed down, and yet overtook the other zoids anyway. Usually, to overtake speeding 'vehicles' so quickly, you need to be going a good deal faster then them. Even though your speed is greater, that is your top speed only, and when barrelling through a ton of rock and dirt, it's generally gonna slow you down like... a whole lot. :3 But, it's fine. We can still finish this. I had plans for you, anyhow. ^_- ))

Kyrea lifted a hand, closing her eyes but briefly to rub at her temples in what looks like exhaustion at first glance... if anyone could see her. "..We really need to do something about that one, don't we?" She questioned in rhetorical line to the Jager whose annoyance was just as edgy as her own.

Such a break was taken in a beat, truely, her needs being met with that hardly stopping turn. The Jager's claws dug hard where he turned, biting against the g-force that presses him in the opposite direction to follow at the Gun Sniper's heels, just as Abdiel had expected. But, somehow she no longer seemed directly concerned for him. This had become directly a predator and prey match, the Jager's jaws opened to flash his laser-enhanced fangs at the hind legs of the Stag, remaining at a sideways angle to avoid a kick.

A sudden leap brought that feline-esque zoid farther and nearer the full side of the Lance Stag. His posture was low, his body aligned like that of a hunting lion, racing at the gait of his fleeing prey. Only a second passed... before he twisted with rapid speed, spinning himself, his tail, around and allowing the wide metal 'bar' of his tail to strike towards and at the mid-to-lowerlegs of the Stag. Such would be difficult to leap over; How would he have known it's coming? How could he have even seen it barrelling forwards with antler-things lowered? Jager had kept low, and just beneath direct line of sight. Scanners would have showed his presence, but certainly not his intentions.

{I'll keep that in mind. x3
If anyone have any more complains, tell me. ^^;}

Xack's reaction time was not fast enough to avoid the trip, although he had tried to make the best of it. He had avoided the tail as it came towards the hind legs, however, Lance had already taken a rough tumble. At his current speed, it made things worse as the zoid fell down on his front legs.

"Come on, Lance. Get up!" Xack said, trying to keep his cool. He pushed a few buttons as the Lance gave a low grunt, before slowly raising up again. It was a slow and painful process, and Xack hoped that none of Lance's parts are broken or damaged in the fall.

"Yo! No need to get rough, right? First the landslide, now this?" Xack complained over the com-link, as his zoid started on a slow walk, testing to see if he had any damaged parts. Heaving a sigh of relief, as nothing seemed to be damaged, Xack set Lance on a slow run.

Ooc: *has been dead/busy for the last two days* @_@ *falls over*

Anyway, what Kai said sorta went on what I meant. Logically I didn't think it would be able to, seeing as you were pretty far behind in the beginning anyway. But like I said, I'll shut up. ^^ Doesn't matter.

*collapses and dies* I'll respond later. Kinda sleepy.

The Gun Sniper squawked, lifting its feet faster in response to the startling proximity of the powerful Zoid. Abdiel hurriedly piloted to the side as the Jager moved on, lunging for the Lance Stag up ahead. The reinforced alloy fangs of the Jager were focused on another machine, but Abdiel didn't drop his guard.

"Whoa!" he squeaked, startled by the Jager's sudden swipe at the Stag's legs. Nimbly picking his way around the fallen Stag and narrowly avoiding the kicking hind legs, Abdiel hurried on, watching the tail of the retreating Jager with new eyes. Muttering an appreciative oath under his breath, he settled more into the rhythm of his Gun Sniper's loping run, body lowered, streamlined in the light-footed posture of its inner velociraptor.

"Are you all right?" Abdiel asked Xack sympathetically, voice clear over the 'com in spite of the closeness of the canyon walls. The Gun Sniper kept wary distance from the Jager. There had to be some way to get around him, in spite of its lower speed... Watching the walls of the canyon for a way up the steep and unforgiving sides, Abdiel slitted his eyes, working out a scenario in his head. For a moment, he forgot about all but the Jager and the Stag and his own impossible goal-- to outdo a Zoid faster, stronger, more heavily armored, and of a higher class than his. But he had to try.

Kyrea pressed cooly on the com-link button, opening it fully, shaking her head caring not whether or not the response could be seen. "That was rough? I don't think so. I'll show you rough later, when you're up to having a real battle with me. That right there was to point out your weakness. You have speed, and you have strength, but your weak points are blindingly obvious. Long legs mean you can be tripped up easier than those of us with more stout and powerful legs. Pay attention to your zoid, not just your thick head." She smirked and tapped the speaker, as if attempting to tap Xack's head and enforce her comments.

"I doubt your Stag is broken, unless you fell poorly. I didn't do too much to you." Kyrea switched gears, having lost all of her momentum in the switch-turn she used to trip the Lance Stag. The Jager shook much like a dog, tossing Ky about inside somewhat, before settling again. "Ready now? I want to test the Sniper." A growl of recognition rumbled through the cockpit, the Zero Jager Mirage replacing his boosters against his body, settling them in apparently permanently for the race.

He was pushed off into a speedy gallop, pushing to catchup with Abdiel without use of his fully natural speed. Eventually, the Jager brought himself up on the Sniper's tail once more, this part of the game having much more solid rules. Each sway of that Sniper-tail earned a bite of teeth, perhaps playing, perhaps being serious; it was hard to tell with the way Ky has shown herself to be while enjoying herself.

Indeed, there were a few very distinct personalities of the girl. This one, this cocky female, was evident only when displayed on purpose. Why be calm, cool, and collected when she wanted to irritate those she trains? It was indeed easiest to train others when it was so possible to distract them and find out their immediate and delayed reactions to everything.

"Oh crap," Abdiel groaned resignedly as the Jager recovered, coming right at him. There was nowhere to escape to within this narrow canyon, other than ramming oneself into one of the walls, and Abdiel wasn't too sure that he wanted to damage his Zoid's missle pods quite yet.

The Gun Sniper made an irritated crooning noise as the Jager nipped at its tail, and Abdiel instantly grinned, seeing now how close the lion-like Zoid was. He was reminded of a kitten playing with string; a calming analogy to his serious and possibly dangerous situation. Timing the swinging of his Zoid's tail by the increasingly irate squawks in response to the Jager's biting, Abdiel slowly tightened his fists on the controls, and, at the moment that the Jager's head was near enough to be in range, he slammed on the boosters. He had no rear-facing weapons, but the force of the boosters could at least work out as some sort of punch to the face.

Gritting his teeth as the canyon began to wind, he hurriedly put the maneuverability of his Zoid to the test, swinging with inexperienced gracelessness around the tightening bends. "Where is that stupid cliff?!" he growled. It couldn't be more than a few kilometers away... could it? Abdiel wasn't sure that he could take this race dragging out much further.

Ooc: *still doesn't feel good at all*

All while this had been going on, the Command Wolf had lingered behind, his speed slower so he could linger behind and watch a bit, calculate the preformance of his peers and their Zoids. The back suited him just fine for now, it ensured he wasn't bothered too much (no one cared about the person in last place) as well as promised that he would see any changes done to the landscape by the Jager. Yes, the back suited him just fine. When it was time he would speed up, but for now he kept his Wolf at a steady pace, behind but not too far behind.

Zy took advantage of the moment as the Lance Stag fell, slowing down and dancing around it cautiously before resuming his speed, every so often checking his radar to note the speed of the Lance stag. He was in second now, not counting the Jager, but Zyali didn't think he would be bothered too much anyways, not when the GunSniper could easily steal victory while Ky was dealing with him. Grinning as the Sniper pulled off a rather smart move with his boosters, Zy chuckled, shrugging despite the fact no one could see him.

"No idea. Maybe the cliff wasn't the best place for the finish line after all..."

Staying fairly close to the rock wall, the Command Wolf pushed forward a bit and increased it's speed. The race was probably almost over. Time to wait for the opportunity to arise where he could slip passed.

Seeing that he is now in second place, Xack got a little irritated, but did not chase after the Command Wolf. Instead, he tested each of the legs before deciding that Lance was alright. Giving a slight grin, he replied over the com-link, "Yeah, yeah... I've learnt my lesson..."

Starting off again at a steady jog, Xack's next target is to try to pass the Command Wolf without making the same mistake twice. Frowning, he realised that he did not know where the end of the race is. He had heard something about a cliff, but he can't see anything that resembles one.

"Lance, see a cliff?"

The Lance Stage shook his head, acompanied by a low grunt. He could now see the speck of blue at the front, and raced to catch up.

The Command Wolf growled a warning to the Lance Stag as the Stag began to gain speed, the figure on radar coming closer to Zy and his Zoid. The pilot grinned at this, laughing outright. He thought he was just going to be able to pass, just like that? Heh, well, the other pilot would have to think again. There was no way he was just forfeiting his place because the Lance Stag was up again.

"Ch, sorry bud, lost your place, you'll have to work for it."

Edging his Wolf to the middle of the thin path, Zy weaved his Zoid along the path, bounding to one side then the other, blocking almost any chance of the Stag passing.

The finish line was just around the next bend. One more turn, and the first zoid to make it through the narrow pass would reach the cliff. It was dangerous, and only one zoid could fit through at a time without trouble. They would all see it in just a few seconds, and then what would happen? Kyrea already knew her part, but it didn't seem to bother her.

The glow of the Gun Sniper's boosters before her was faint as they were flicked on, but the heated warning was just enough for a jerk of Jager's attention to slam him sideways in a swift leaping motion to avoid the fire-blast. "Nice one!" Kyrea nearly laughed over the com-link, though she was serious to the point of finally being earnestly excited. Using the boosters as more than just speed was a tactic not many new pilots thought about, and this enticed her further. Ky wasn't willing to push Jager into the rocky canyon walls that narrowed in around them all, however, so she began to fall back, Jager's stride slowing and her general speed dropping considerably.

"Alright, you three. It's a straight shot to the end, but only one zoid at a time will easily make it through the pass. These canyons from here on are unstable. Unless you want to bring down the whole thing, don't avalanche or bulldoze anything." Her voice seemed suddenly much colder, serious. Deadly serious. This was the girl who was the elite fighter of the Republican army. Now that her part in the game had ended, it was time to see them all fight it out to the end. The one with the speed advantage was at the tail end, and the odds were made even. It depended on skill now.

Xack frowned, wondering how he was supposed to pass. THe Lance Stag has speed, but he was also fairly big in size. Withe the Command Wolf "dancing" at the front, it was near impossible to go through unless Lance suddenly travel at the speed of sound...

"What to do?" A calm Xack muttered as he struggled to keep close to the zoid at the front without banging into it. A slow smile tugged at Xack's lip as a plan formed in his mind. With luck, it might just give Lance a lead in the race, if not, it will have a very big and bad effect.

Considering the pros and cons of his current "plan", Xack wondered how high Lance can jump at his current speed. If he overshot, both zoid and pilot might end up tumbling down the cliff. Weighing his options, Xack asked Lance, "You want to do it?"

The Lance Stag didn't reply, but gave a low honking sound, one that only his pilot could hear. If Xack wants to try to jump, Lance will go along with the plan as well. He had trust in his pilot, although their bond isn't very strong yet.

Zyali's amethyst tinted eyes were focused intensely on the dino Zoid in front of him, trying desperately to gain some amount of speed to catch up. Ky had already said it was now up to them to win the race, and he took that to heart as he urged his Wolf forward. A wild grin and a glint to his eyes unmistakably told of how much fun he was having with this 'training session'.

As the small red circle on his radar told of the Lance Stag's approach, Zy's grin grew wider, his expression becoming even more amused. "Heh. Big mistake." With a sudden jerk, the Command Wolf skidded to a stop right in front of the Lance Stag, so suddenly that most likely the pilot wouldn't have been able to stop time time as well. Rearing up on hind paws, he gave a wild thrash against the Zoid practically on top of him, ramming him with his back before taking off again, metal paws stretching forward as he leaped towards the GunSniper, trying to gain some of the lost ground.

"And that, my friend, is why you should never stand directly behind your enemy." Zy said, not bothering to look back at what his stunt had done, "You never know when some insane pilot's going to pull a stupid stunt like that."
