Also... Not many of the eggs are left. I'm not exactly sure what happened to them but I'm not surprised. She only spawned about 30-50 eggs and as of now the fry are at the "wriggler" stage. There are about 5-10 left on the ceiling on the cave and about 10 on the ground. I guess they drop to the ground once they start to wriggle. I can expect them to be free-swimming in a few days. smile

Congrats! Who's that in the pot, mom or dad? (I'm still learning how to sex Kribs >.<) Mom's the one who guards the eggs and dad guards mom, right?

Yup, that's the mom. The females are about an inch smaller, have bigger, rounder, redder bellies and have rounded fins. The males are bigger by an inch, have a point on their dorsal fin, bodies are more streamlined (no huge belly) and only a faint pink.
I'm also starting up a new 10g... It's going to be for when the fry get big enough to the point where the parents "disown" them and I'll just keep em in there until I get rid of them. Other than for that I'm going to keep my gourami in there was some pygmy cories and shrimp.

@ Jeddi-kun- Kinda like gouramis! Males have pointed fins, and females have stuby, rounded ones, and are chubby whee
@ Steed- Magic! Thats the answer to every thing XD
@ Vanilla- Have you thought about giving it to a LFS? Or even a chain that sells Cherry Barbs? Maybe post a thing on craigslist...?

Yeah, I might do that, I'd just prefer to give it to someone where I know it's going to have a good home.

The fry are all free swimming now and the parents are herding them around the tank... It's astonishing how fast they grow. I'm feeding BBS but they seem to be getting the bulk or their food from detritus and infusoria

I'm feeding BBS but they seem to be getting the bulk or their food from detritus and infusoria I've noticed that, too, with my Guppy fry. They mostly get all their food from what they find in the gravel, untill they are about an inch long, then they get brave enough to stay and eat for more then just a few bites at the surface.
