Skype is WAY better it is a lot safer as well. Also as mention you can just IM folks and it has more options than other im programs.

The conundrum: Losing the anonymity to im (voice/video) reduces the honesty with which I can post. My anonymity allows me to post my inner most thoughts and feelings. This (and my net presence) is my diary. You see more of the real me here - then if you knew me in real life.

Skype is wonderful, Skype and MSN. I talking with my husband allll the time, who is over in Afghanistan and my sister who is currently in Germany.
