He relaxed, and felt quite content that she seemed better. "There, that's the kind of smile one wants to see!" He offered her one, much brighter than it had been before. It felt more real, tangible, genuine.
"Now, less worrying, alright? At least when it comes to me," he joked, chuckling.

She could still feel her stomach twist anxiously but she now that she had seen what she was doing to herself she knew it would be better. Part of her still wanted to run away and think about things and plan privately but that would be counterproductive. This was where she ought to be.
"Does this mean that we're friends?"
Certainly Hoartio was already acting that way but now that she had caught up.. perhaps they might actually be friends.

Horatio laughed. "Hey, I thought we were friends at the end of our first meeting!" His tail twitched as he grinned. He wanted to invite her back to the party, but...he didn't know if that was his place. Would it be too much, or something that he would break unknowingly? New territory for him.
So, he'd forget about it. It didn't hurt to sit here and chat a bit, did it?

"Well, now we both realize it," she said, smiling and glancing out at the nearby crowd of celebrating lions. If she saw Nkosazana again, would she react as she had earlier? Would she have the nerve to go find her as she had said she would? She had offered her help, maybe that was the thing to focus on.

He followed her gaze towards the party. He was trying to read her, but he wasn't too good at it. Obviously. Maybe he could do a better job, now. Or, at least attempt to do so.
"Do you want to return to the party?" he asked carefully. "If only for a short while?" Slaves...he didn't like the word, but they were to help if someone asked, right? "Maybe tell me more about some of the other members. I'm still quite wet behind the ears."

She didn't look back to him immediately, thinking about the question. It seemed both an invitation and a request- sort of- but it was hard to decide how that mattered. She ought to return and if she had a job to do it would be an excuse to stick with him if someone else came along. She wasn't positive what his rank was but if it was middle or higher she wasn't likely to be called away. And the party did seem more inviting with him there.
"Alright," she said, standing up and then looking back at him with another small smile.

"Great!" He felt so much better about things...well, mostly about how she felt. Wasn't a party supposed to be fun for everyone? Now maybe she'll enjoy herself more. Glad to feel like he had helped a friend, he tentatively let the way back to the party, hoping that he could use her brain to remember who everyone was, and really get into the feeling of this class-system.
