Floating up with much more ease and grace than she'd previously exhibited before Lazarus's appearance, "It's quite all right. I'm feeling much better now." And it showed physically upon the Frei in oh so many ways, how she snaked quickly across the room to the kitchen to retrieve the paper towels, the brighter glow of her dark rune as well as the accumulation of more smoke surrounding it, hell even her hair, skin and eyes seemed to glow with a powerful aura of renewed vigor.
When Ebony returned with the towels, she hesitated in mopping the puddles, wondering whether it'd be safe to do so. Making a face of both great concentration and distrust, the dark Raevan lowered enough to dab experimentally with a few layers of the towels. Pulling back and waiting a moment to see if anything would happen, Ebony found nothing wrong.
"Hmm..." she voiced curiously as she rubbed her fingers into the damp material. "Interesting...it's wet and it's touching my skin, but nothing. Not even a tingle. Fascinating."

As his eyes watched Cordelia disappeared into the kitchen for a moment to get paper towels, he noticed the change and improvement with the Frei physically as well. He couldn't pinpoint exactly why, but she just seemed more... confident, and elegant. The fireplace really did so much of a difference? He wondered as he glance at the burning fire in the fireplace, the gentle smoky scent had begun to fill the living room.
When Cordelia came back with the paper towels, he was about to reach over and accept them with a 'thanks' when he noticed her expression. As if looking at the puddle in trepidation and hesitation. He paused for a moment, and decided that he shouldn't disrupt her concentration. His crimson eyes widen and his mouth gape open in the middle of a silent cry when the Frei dabbed at the water puddle experimentally, half expecting her to scream again. But when she didn't, he let out a quiet sigh of relief. That was weird, so she is vulnerable to water but not... dampness?
Suddenly, he felt a little awkward. Perhaps it was the Frei's concentration that made him feel alienated, or perhaps he felt a little stupid doing his own silent act without her noticing, he just felt awkward.
However, something was still bugging him though. There's something different and odd about Cordelia, although she seemed completely normal right now. He just couldn't put a thumb as to what it was. "So you're... vulnerable to water?" He asked curiously. But seeing now that her hands are no longer on the damp towels, he grabbed the rest of the paper towels and began to help wipe the floor. Lazarus did said earlier that he would help.

Ebony had once again lost track of Lazarus's presence while she was silently mulling over this new development of her charge's physiology. At least now she completely understood Cordelia's avoidance to all things water related. Never again would she tease or berate the youth for something she'd up until now, had merely thought a childish fear.
When the Fire Sigel appeared next to her once more, she tried to not look so surprised and embarrassed by forgetting he was in the room yet again. Honestly, how rude was that? Ebony really needed to pay more attention to her, err Cordelia's guest. "It appears I am. Yet only on direct contact it seems."
Once the mess had been sufficiently mopped up and all evidence thrown away. "Thanks for helping Lazarus. And um, sorry about that whole..." the Frei waved her hands as if by doing so she'd somehow magically produce the words she sought. "...thing. Had I known...well no what I mean is nothing like this has ever really happened before. I didn't know the true effect of water on myself. Only that...I should avoid it." Ebony sighed. That was most likely the worst explanation in all of history.
Giving the other an awkward, half smile, "I guess you'll be wanting to take him back then huh?" Ebony seemed a little sad by the prospect, after all the fox fish was awfully cute and she'd never had a pet before. But she'd understand if Lazarus thought it best. Leaning over, the dark femme carefully gave the aquatic pup a light pat on his head, mostly with her fingers. It was as she'd imagined, damp, but non-threatening to herself, thankfully. "Too bad too. I think you would have liked it here little guy."

Lazarus lets out a sigh of relief as the wooden floor is dried, although a slightly darker patch remained where some of the water had seeped into the wood. He just hope that it will go away soon when it fully dries on it's own. "Don't worry about it, maybe I should have called and ask before I come." He smiled apologetically. Perhaps if he had known earlier about Cordelia's fear of water, he would not had brought the foxfish over. Yeah, why didn't he think of that? Making a face, he mentally punched himself for not thinking about this earlier.
The foxfish was wary when the darker Frei leaned over, almost expecting her to scream again. But then when he saw the hand reached out for him, he perked his little furry head further out of the water. He does like pets on the head. Ears flatten and eyes closed as Cordelia patted him, even leaning up further for more.
"He likes people petting his head." Lazarus chuckled softly as he bent over. "Yeah, I guess I'll just bring him back then. He did kind of grew on me a little." It was a pity that Cordelia could not keep the foxfish, but he had kind of expected this answer before he even came here. He imagined that having a new pet is a new responsibility too, and more work. However, he still did not like the prospect of carrying the jar all the way back home again, it really did made his muscles sore.
Oh well, not like he had a choice did he? Bending over and with some difficulty, he lifted the big jar off the floor once more, careful not to spill more water onto the floor. Thankfully the water level had lessen in the last accident, so it just splashed a little in the jar and did not spill out. The foxfish retreated back into the bottom of the jar as it was being lifted, probably having the same idea as Lazarus to not splash anymore water out of the jar.
"I guess I better go then..? Since it looks like I'm not very welcomed by your guardian..." Red eyes peeking over the stairs, wondering where Ebony is. All this while she had not shown herself after departing from the entrance. Not knowing that he is in fact, talking to Ebony himself.

"That's quite all right. It's nice having visitors. You can come over whenever you want." This sudden offer towards the demonic Sigel even caught Ebony by surprise and she was the one whom said it! She thought a moment, testing whether she'd really meant it or not, whether she was still upset about what had happened between all of them the day she'd picked up Cordelia from the Lab. Looking at Lazarus now, how considerate and polite he was, Ebony realized this was how the Raevan really was, not how the virus had made him out to be. The incubus was only part of who he was, a part that he seemed well in control of when not effected by outside sources.
She smiled fondly at the other, like a proud mother would over a child who does something she found heartwarming. But the smile didn't last long, noticing how Lazarus silently groaned and struggled to lift the foxfish again. Now that she thought about it, the Sigel must have either floated all the way here like that or taken the bus. He was strong, but even something like that was bound to weaken anyone after a spell. And she really hated to part with the little water critter. She didn't have a problem with it necessarily, but Cordelia...
Head snapping up and hands waving, "Nononono! It's not like that! Not like that at all! Eb-by's probably just trying to give us our space! She's not mad at you or anything. Promise!" If asked about the unresponsive to the earlier scream...well there wasn't really anything she could say to cover that now was there? She would just have to tell the truth then lest be labelled an unfit guardian. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that because she felt she'd still be labelled unfit even once the truth was out.
"Uh, anyway, that tank looks awfully heavy for you Lazarus. I hate for you to have to take him all the way back after coming this far. How about we just keep him here anyway? I should be fine so long as he promises not to splash me. Right little guy? You can promise me that much right?" The smokey girl smiled and waggled a finger at the foxfish. He seemed to perk up at this prospect and gave a waggle of his own little fishy hide. Ebony chuckled at the adorable display while pushing back her long sweeping bangs to look up at Lazarus. "So? What do you think Lazarus?"

Lazarus smiled politely at the offer to come over again. It was really nice of Cordelia to say that, although he had no idea that it was Ebony who was extending that offer. If he had known, he had been much happier, as the Frei's guardian does intimidate him a little, that and he still felt bad about what happened back during the virus outbreak. Well, at least he is still good friends with Cordelia.
The thought about Ebony being an unfit guardian though, did not crossed his mind at all. Since he still thinks that Ebony does not like him, maybe even the little foxfish too judging by her reaction just now. And Cordelia might be right, maybe Ebony just wanted to give them space after all. "Hopefully you are right." Lazarus smiled a little apologetically. "I hope she will feel better and more at ease after I left."
Halfway turned around, the fire Sigel was prepared to go when Cordelia offered to keep the foxfish. Is she serious? He had to wonder, since the little critter is aquatic after all and Cordelia doesn't do too well with water. But looking at the Frei waggling her finger at the jar, and the foxfish's enthusiastic response, maybe this might work out somehow. Although for some reason he felt a little heavy-hearted about the prospect...
What is wrong with him? Lazarus frowned softly at his conflicted feelings. Maybe having cared for the chimera for so long, he had developed some feelings for him after all. But he had to remind himself, this is not just about him or Cordelia, this is about the foxfish. He had cared for him, just thinking of himself as a fosterer instead of an adopter. It wouldn't be fair for the little critter.
Lips stretching into a thin line, he made up his mind. Smiling, the fire Sigel nodded to Cordelia's suggestion. "He is a really gentle creature." Red eyes look at the foxfish fondly. "If you keep him in a bigger place, like a tub or even an aquarium, I think you wouldn't get splashed so easily. Unless shocked of course." Like just now when she screamed, good thing it splashed him instead of the water-allergic Frei. For some reason, as he spoke, he almost felt relieved somehow. Maybe it was because he finally found a permanent home for the little chimera. Speaking of home... "So... where should I set him down? I don't think it will be too good for him to stay in a jar like this for too long. Plus... we might as well settle him down now instead of later, since I am not allergic to water." He chuckled softly, might as well help her to the end while he's at it.

The woman posing as Cordelia gave a breezy sort of laugh while she finished up making adorable faces and wagging her fingers at the foxfish. "Oh don't worry about her. She'll be moody for a bit, but then after a spell she'll be all chipper again." And it was true. Delia didn't possess the experience of holding a grudge like Ebony did. It was only a matter of time before she'd find something to distract herself with and the girl would be right as rain once more. Well...that is until she saw that dear 'Ebby' had managed to keep the aquatic pup.
But that was something to deal with at a later period of time. Right now Lazarus was offering more help and advice about the chimera. "Ummm...well, let's see..." Placing a finger to her dark lips and glancing around as if the answer would just magically appear out of thin air, "Hmmm...I'm not really sure where we can put him for now."
The woman thought hard. She had never had any fish or aquatic animal as a pet before and neither had her father, so it wasn't like there was a spare tank just sitting about in the..."Oh! I know! Just hold on for a couple minutes okay. I'll be right back!" Quickly she dashed (only managing to give a little of a stumbled stagger while floating) for the basement door, one just off the front entrance and directly under the staircase. She left the door open a crack, not really wanting the Fire Sigel to think it an open invitation to just mossy on down there to help with whatever it was she was doing.
There was a bit of rummaging that could be heard from downstairs, the sound carrying up the stairs and through the slightly ajar door. But just as she'd promise, the Raevan came back soon and carrying some odd round, silver and black contraption. Too small to be of any help really. Or at least one would think at first glance. "My d-err ah...Ebby's dad was something of a fiddler in inventions." she explained as she lead the other towards the kitchen where it was linoleum and not wood flooring.
"This was suppose to be the prototype for a portable pool. Of course the old man was looking to go for something a whole lot bigger, but..." Ebony trailed off and set the object on the ground with a shrug. Pointing a tiny remote at it and pressing a button, the unusual object suddenly unfolded and expanded to something about 10 times it's original size. It easily filled up a good portion of the kitchen like it was. "If we fill it with water it should be fine right? At least until we can go and get a proper tank or something?" Ebony of course was already entertaining ideas for the furry/scaled creature. A large pond in the back yard maybe? Or maybe a custom tank built into one of the walls in the dining room? Hell maybe even both!

Nodding slowly, he was fine with holding the jar for a few minutes longer, he had already been holding it for so long. Curious, he followed Cordelia around the house, but chose to not go down the stairs to the basement. He didn't want to seem intrusive after all since the Frei did not extend an invitation to follow along. The Sigel did not need to wait for long as Cordelia re-emerged after some sounds of rummaging with a strange looking black object. "Ebony's father likes to invent eh?" He wondered briefly, kind of like Kyou perhaps? Just that Kyou works with organic and alchemy stuff more than hardware tools. Most of the hardware he has was commissioned.
Following the black Frei into the kitchen, he couldn't deny that he was extremely curious about the black contraption. How is Cordelia going to keep the chimera in such a small looking object? It looks like it is only slightly bigger than the jar that he is carrying with him. His question was answered when Cordelia pressed a tiny remote in her hand, causing the black object to unfold into a miniature pool. "Whoa!" Lazarus gasped with widen eyes as he backed a few feet away when the object unfolded, clearly impressed. "That's pretty cool." He commented as he crouched down to inspect the pool. It reminded him a little of those blow-up kid's swimming pools that he sometimes see in people's back yard, but just cooler looking and even a little futuristic.
"This will do perfectly for now." Red eyes lifted up to Cordelia as he smiled happily. "This is almost as big as the bath tub I kept him at back at the lab, so I think he should be fine with it." The little foxfish seems to agree as well as he lets out little happy bubbles looking at the black colored pool, seeming to know that this will be his new home.
Carefully setting the jar to a side on the floor, feeling more relieved that they are no longer on wooden flooring, he got up and offered. "So, do you have a hose to fill the pool with?" Eager, the fire Sigel was set to help Cordelia make the foxfish's new home.

From what Ebony had gathered most from all her encounters with Lazarus to date was the state of the youth's face. It was usually in a default expression of cool neutrality, so it was rare for her (and she would surmise for most) to see something actually impress the eldest Raevan let alone make him smile. Thus when his eyes lit up with child-like excitement and his lips curved upwards to accentuate that emotion, it was hard not to match it with her own happy smile.
"Mmhmm. There's one all round up on the outside of the green house." Ebony gestured towards the kitchen window in which one could see the modest house of green as well as the hose all neatly wound up. "It should be long enough to reach in here through the window. Here..." Placing the remote down on the counter, Ebony leaned up to unlatch the window and swing it open. "I'll go get it and hand it to you through the window so you can fill the pool up."
She figured it would be best for him to deal with the hose being as how Cordelia's body did not do well around solid forms of the element. She was sure the basilisk could withstand it to a degree, but how much was too much? Ebony wouldn't want to do irreparable damage to her ward's body before giving it back.

Directing his red eyes towards the direction Cordelia was pointing, he spotted the green house and the matching green hose right outside. Although it was all wound up, it does look long enough to reach through the kitchen windows.
"Okay." He nodded in agreement, it will definitely be safer if he controlled the water at his end, so that Cordelia would not be splashed with water again. As long as the sky does not rain, all Cordelia needed to do on her side was turn on the tap, without any risk of coming in direct contact with water. That is... if the hose did not fall off the tap. The weather was still a little gloomy so soon right after the storm, but it was steadily getting brighter, so he was sure, or optimistically hope that it will not rain again.
From inside the kitchen, he leaned forward over the sink and opened the window a little wider, accepting the end of the hose as Cordelia handed it to him. Then carefully he placed it into the black colored empty pool, letting it rest against the surface at the bottom while keeping his grip on it. "Alright, turn on the tap!" The Sigel shouted out through the window towards the Frei as he gave her a thumbs up, indicating that she should turn on the tap. He would then watch the water level and signal Cordelia to turn it off when it reaches the correct water level.
The foxfish watched curiously as he propped himself over the edge of the jar, his little fins hanging outside as he leaned forwards. All this commotion had got his curiosity.

With the elder boy's agreement, Ebony made her way from the kitchen through the adjacent dining room and out the sliding patio doors, heading towards the warm greenhouse. The body she was occupying responded positively to this gradual increase of surrounding heat and Ebony found herself propelling faster along her path towards the garden hose, almost like there was excitement bubbling in her just from this simple of tasks.
After handing the hose off to Lazarus, the smoke Raevan floated quickly back to turn the water on. She had no qualms for staying close to the warm building while waiting for the other to signal to her to turn off the water, yet she was slightly saddened that the time had came so quickly to an end.
Once all was off and put away, Ebony once more returned to the incubus's side in the kitchen, finding him already taking initiative and placing the water pup into the newly filled pool. She was impressed at how well the contraption seemed to hold up, yet she shouldn't have been quick to think one of her father's former inventions would be with such faults. Then again, if memory served correctly...failure tended to proceed success indiscriminately when it came to invention creation.
Angling over as if to be bending at the waist had the girl had one, Ebony cooed at the foxfish, "That feel better little guy?" The chimera lapped around a few times happily before making a confirming noise that sounded like a cross between a bark and gurgling. Again Ebony couldn't help laughing at his cute antics and rewarding the darling aquatic creature with a gentle pat to his head.
A most genuine and sincere smile, the dark Frei directed her attention back to the demonic Raevan beside her. "Thanks for bringing him all this way Lazarus. And for helping fill the pool. You're more than welcome to come and visit him anytime you want."

"No problem!" Lazarus smiled as Cordelia thanked him. He just thought that since it might be a little dangerous for her to move the foxfish on her own, he should take the initiative to move him for her. Perhaps in the future she could ask Ebony for help when they want to move him elsewhere. Speaking of Ebony, he had to wonder where the human is currently as he took a glance towards the inside of the house.
"I would love to come and visit some time again soon." The fire Sigel responded to the Frei's invitation. Although this was only his second time in the house, he almost felt at home here already. Maybe it was the warmth and the smoky scent coming from the grand fireplace, they don't have one like that in the Lab, just trusty ole heaters.
"Well... I guess I should go soon, since my work here is done." He started as he gather up the jar, emptying the little bit of water inside into the pool. Thinking maybe some familiar scent in the water might help the little critter fit in better. The jar was actually one that he found in Kyou's storage, it was empty at the time but judging from the other jars that contained preserved questionable items that was once alive, he had the suspicion that it might be filled with something dead soon as well. Thankfully it won't be the foxfish. "I still have a few errands to run before I get back to the Lab." He said as the Frei escorted him through the house towards the doors. Before his departure as he floated through the doorway, he turned around and smiled at Cordelia. "Thank you again for taking care of the foxfish! That means a lot to me." And with that, he bid his farewell and left. He was sure that the little chimera would be in good hands.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to take good care of him. Goodbye Lazarus, take care!"" And with that Ebony shut the door and breathed a sigh of relief. She couldn't be sure whether the elder Raevan suspected anything, but the Brit liked to think that all went fairly well and that she wouldn't be getting a call from the doctor anytime soon.
Of course to presume ALL was well was far too much to ask as she was still stuck in her smokey ward's half body while the other...was currently glaring at her from the top of the staircase. For perhaps the first time in a long time, Ebony felt small and insignificant, like a child again, under the scrutiny of her own silver gaze. A bead of sweat gathered at her temple as she nervously scooted back a few steps. "H-hey Cordelia..." Ugh, was that really how she looked at people when she was pissed? It was so lifeless and cold.
Daggered eyes narrowed even more as the girl quickly rushed down the stairs and ran into the kitchen. What occurred next was a loud bout of screaming and Ebony trying to keep Delia from flushing the poor foxfish down the toilet.
