Ghis remained standing against one of the walls inside, a silent hulk of body armor. Next was this young lass who was practically trembling in her boots. Personally, this one he wouldn't mind looking the other way--lousy bunch of ingrates was what Estarcia was in his mind. Couldn't consider his own until they'd already been captured, no sir!

"Sir? ...Sir?"

"Huh? Whuzzat?" Ghis snapped out of his bitter memories for a second, and turned his helmeted head to peer at the Watchman.

"We found a lone mage running away from the manor, Captain. Highly suspicious. We brought him back here."

"Ahh. Lemme see 'im, then."

Ghis lumbered out behind the guard. It wasn't too difficult to part the crowd. Once they'd gotten through it, they found guards carrying Derrin up the hill, hands tied behind his back, hands firmly planted on his shoulders to prevent any sudden movements.

"Oh, tha' kid? What'cha bringin' 'im back fer?"

"He-he was running away from the manor and... well, we thought he was up to no good!"

Normally, Ghis would have chewed his men out for being such numbskulls. Acting on suspicion, indeed! He could've just as easily been scared out of his wits, the idiot blowing his horn as though Derrin was some common thief!

But NOBODY could have missed that pathetic soap opera Derrin had put on display to his girlfriend.

"...So. Ye break yer girlfriend's heart an' run out o' th' manor. I got tha' right?" Ghis asked. He placed a steely palm to his forehead and shook his head. "Ye know, ye coulda just, oh, I dunno, walked outta th' front an' nobody woulda cared! Get 'im back inside then. Keep 'is hands bound this time. If he's done nae wrong like 'e acts, then cut 'im loose."

"Yes, sir."

Derrin was escorted back inside and promptly set back down next to Clara. Have fun~

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything.
You have to look forward. Remember what you have here now.
Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from
Elibe or anywhere else!"

{Amelia}
Amelia turned to face Lyre, starting to feel quite embarrassed at how Lyre had appeared without knowing about the court being in session. Then again, Amelia hadn't even known it would be in session until it happened, so it wasn't really her fault.

"H-Hi." Amelia smiled sheepishly, giving an apologetic wave to Rogvald before nodding to Lyre. "Rogvald is... is holding a trial," she whispered back, keeping her voice a little lower. "Apparently Rath pulled something that he shouldn't have, I'm not entirely sure, and now he's determined to bring justice to everyone that Rath didn't appropriately punish for their misdoings..."

Amelia looked back at the front of the makeshift courtroom, watching as the little Hero shook near her friends, appearing ready to burst out into tears. Poor thing. Roy and Lance were taking it differently, though. She certainly knew how to make a scene... "Leon..." Amelia watched as he stormed out, making a mental note to go find him later. The loss of his position was probably killing him inside.

"Huh, what? Oh... donuts. That sounds... sounds nice. Thank you." Amelia offered Lyre a grateful smile, then turned to Rhys and kissed him on the cheek as he carefully took Aisen from her. "Thank you. I'll keep an eye on things in here," she responded. She watched him walk away, a fond look in her eyes, before turning back to Lyre.

"The minute this is over, the minute you and I are kicking everyone the hell out of this place. I'm going to have a lot of straightening up to do thanks to Rogvald's commandeering of my damn living room," she muttered, folding her arms under her chest. Without Aisen around to possibly influence with bad language, she was able to be much freer with her choice of words...

"What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. The goddess is supposed to be all‑forgiving, right? You've worked hard and you deserve to do some things that make you happy.
I think she'd forgive you for it."

The coronation of a new King, Rath being arrested, and now this trial. Oujay had heard about the things that happened in the past days. Though he wasn't exactly sure what was going on, he knew for sure that the sounds of things were not good at all.

Sitting quietly among other guild members and anyone else that came to watch the trial, he watched as one of the members of the watch was called down into trial. He was shocked at how fast and futile that trial seemed. Leon had no chance at all.

Oujay listened as Rogvald called out the next set of names that are going to be put on trial. He nearly jumped as he heard the name of his former commander. "Lord Roy?" What could he have possibly done? Rogvald quickly answered his question as he stated the words "Murder."

One of them on trial along with Roy seemed like she was breaking down, as he continued watching the trial. The mercenary tried to restrain himself from doing anything outrageous like blatantly saying that the advisor was wrong. He knew there was no good in doing that.

There was a sudden raucous as it seemed as though two people were in some fight. It looked as though it was some couple having some problems. The boy didn't really hear what they were saying, but one of the guy just stormed off. That seemed a bit random. Also an odd time to have a conflict too.

After the sudden event in the audience settled down, he turned back and looked at the three standing trial. Oujay had a feeling that this was going to end badly just like the trial earlier. And the boy could not do anything about it. Why is this happening?

«Trivial, feel free to disregard this post.»

Well, after that fiasco, Soren had found himself to be slightly ill. On top of that, the full impact of what had been done and what transpired after Neros's attempted assassination attempt had dawned upon him, and he was surprised to feel hints of regret and—dared he think it?—fear.

Too much had happened at once and even he was not entirely certain of the order of events. Neros was missing (he'd come to think that he may have re-absorbed the thing, but with the situation at current and the absurdity of the idea itself, he did not voice it to even himself), he was afflicted with the occasional headache and stomachache and bursts of unexplained laughter, his mind alternated between reason and surges of paranoia, and now he was hiding away in a very familiar spot.

The attic.

Yes.

When Soren had caught word of there being a trial, he'd had once of those moments of complete suspicion and fear, and he scurried up into the attic to stow himself away into concealment. At this very moment, the researcher had thrown himself onto the floor, ear against it in an effort to listen on—but with all that scuffling that two-headed beast was making in the attic, he debated simply listening from the window. If he could just figure out how to open it... That window was fairly far up there...

"Orthrus, stop that," he hissed at the pup. Orthrus raised his two heads and ceased scratching at the corner. The researcher had to be thankful that the beast didn't make much noise, although he did wonder why Orthrus had not simply disappeared with the autumn. "I'm trying to listennnya-ha-ha! to the trial. I'm hearing nothing but bad news from that man..."

And he could swear he still heard Neros in the back of his mind, but Soren had to contemplate the reemergence of emotional reactions and Neros's disappearance at a later date. His current concern was listening on into the whole ordeal. And hiding. Because he simply felt it necessary.

He was summoned to FEFGA manor for some reason, by the adviser Rogvald. For what purposes, he did not know. But after sitting and waiting, Roy finally got his answer.

This was a trial. And by the looks of it, he was one of the accused. And it seemed as if he, Blossom, Melethia, and Lance were accused of an incident that happened back during Estarcia, while fighting the Archaneans. Roy was curious as to how the adviser learned of this information, but it didn't matter at this point. Perhaps there really were spies everywhere, like he suspected. Dear gods...if this man decided to become the 'Big Brother', privacy and safety would cease to exist.

And what was the point of this trial...in the middle of a frikkin' war?! They should be judged after the fighting was over, not during it! It seemed like somebody didn't inform the new ruler and his shady adviser of this... Though...it seemed like the adviser was acting on his own this time. And what was up with Rath's arrest? It smelled like racism. Nothing but snob nobility sneering at one who's birth was nomadic. And where was the proof of such accusations? Rath, conspiring with Mordache?! What a load of bullshit. If anything, Rogvald was far more suspicious of conspiring with Mordache, and it wasn't just because he knew Rath better.

But now, to focus on the matter at hand. As a former noble (this wasn't Elibe anymore, after all), he would have to answer respectfully. As his name was called, he moved to where he was supposed to go with the others. Blossom had broken down upon the accusation. Poor Blossom. Roy placed his hand on her shoulder and gave her some encouraging words, hoping she could calm down a little. His next words were directed to the court itself as he took a step forward to speak.

"The room was dim when we encountered the Estarcians, and thus we were unable to get a clear look at their armor. In the dark, the invaders' armor sounds just like the Estarcian armor. Melethia was severely injured and unconscious, and to get her healed safely, I tried to get her somewhere secure. And in order to guarantee her safety, I fought, unknowingly, the Estarcians." the young lord said.

He paused before taking a breath.

"There are no amount of excuses I can make to try to clear our names, so I will keep this simple. Melethia, being unconscious, took no part in the murder of the Estarcians. Had I not gone indoors, Blossom and Lance would have not taken part. Therefore, if there is anyone that should take the blame for their deaths, it should be me and only me." he replied calmly.

Roy then looked up at the adviser.

"The incident was unfortunate. If I knew the culture of the Estarcians a little better, I could have said some farewell prayers for them fitting to their beliefs. But alas, I did not. And what is done is done. That...cannot be changed."

His expression became solemn before he spoke again.

"I cannot speak for the others, but I plead guilty as charged. Since I am the one responsible for this incident, I pray that the others' sentences are not as severe as mine."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:49 pm

"Roy..." The paladin muttered quietly after she listened to Roy's plead. It was bad enough to hear that Leon had been stripped from his job after trying to defend himself. It was like Leon said, it was all a misunderstanding. And now, the adviser was charging the next group on the crime of murder.

Isadora felt pitied as she watched Blossom tried to plead and ended up having a meltdown. It made her wanted to walk up to her and hug her, trying to comfort the poor Hero of something that was another misunderstood. Luckily, Roy was there to comfort the poor woman. And not only that, but he also informed the adviser that he would take the responsibility himself. Like father, like son. Roy was doing the same reasoning of what Eliwood would do. If his father was here to see him, he would be proud of what his son had become.

She then turned her attention to Rogvald, wondering if the adviser would accept his plead. She prayed that the sentence would not be harsh to them as it did to Leon. Seeing the look of the heartbroken made her feel bad of unable to perform her duty.

Advisor Rogvald

Lend me your ear!
...Heed my words.
ogvald

xxxxxThe girl had finished and Rogvald was unable to wait for the others to speak their part. But a sudden outburst from some loon interrupted the entire proceedings! Rogvald glared at him and waited for him to be removed from the room. Really, some guild members were just so improper!

xxxxxThe red haired lad had taken advantage of the interruption and managed to slip in his word. The advisor listened, but was not moved by his words one bit. All the boy gave was an excuse. And he was trying to make him out to be a martyr. There was no obligation to take the fall. And the sheer dismissal of the soldiers killed was plain enraging. "....So you heard armor and thus presumed that you must attack the source? That... that is the most incompetent thing I have ever heard! You were in an Estarcian city and you did not think that perhaps their were Estarcian soldiers about?! Are you deranged?! And do not think that you alone can take the blame, boy! These other two were there and had the ability to do what was right, but they did not and shall pay for their sins!"

xxxxxHe looked over to the trembling girl. One would have thought there was an earthquake in progress by her shaking. "And you! Do you honestly believe you are blameless simply because you 'd-didn't k-know'? As your friend said, it has still been done and nothing can change that! Obviously you are sorry. This whole court can see you are sorry!" His voice grew suddenly more stern. "But these were human lives!! They had families and those who cared about them. And what did you do? You ignored their deaths and feigned any involvement! That... is despicable."

xxxxxHe took a moment to clear his throat, then continued. "Still, since one of you has plead guilty of the actual murder, the rest of you will have lesser sentences. But he also confirmed your presence, and you will not be going free. As of today, the Asylum in the eastern mountains will now be the grand prison. Melethia Dagon's charges on this matter are dismissed, but the three of you will be sent to the grand prison to await your final sentences. Your weapons will be taken and the guards will prepare you for transportation." He banged his gabble. "Next case!" He knew he would be hated by them. But he didn't mind. He knew why they would hate him.

xxxxxIt was because... they knew, in their hearts, that he was right.

xxxxxThe guards came and bound the three criminals, then took them out of the room. Once they were gone, Rogvald looked through his papers. "I call Derrin Hasstorn! Come forth!" Rogvald glanced around and saw a guard prod somebody up from his seat and force him forward. When he saw the boy, and saw that he was bound, Rogvald was unamused. "...You." The advisor turned to Isadora. "So this is how some of your guild members face their sins. They run from their guilt. ...Very disappointing, Lady Isadora." He turned back and looked upon the fool. "You are charged with sabotaging peace negotiations between Estarcia and the invaders from last winter. You have basically proven to us all that you are guilty, but you are still able to voice yourself... How do you plead?"

I advise you to listen. Not doing so could prove... deadly.

PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 1:59 pm

Isadora opened her mouth in surprised as she listened to their verdict. They were being sent to the asylum to await for their final sentence. Why not gave them their final sentence right here, right now? Was Rogvald try to make it looked lenient to the public, but later gave harsh verdict when they were along? That conniving villain. How dared he taken advantage of the law like this. This was not how the jurisdiction would run.

When the three were escorted out of the room, two guards came with a bounded fellow in the middle. The paladin was surprised it was the same fellow who made an outburst earlier in the trial. Why was the mage all tied up?

It was then that she heard Rogvald commented about her guild members' behavior. The Dame Knight gave the adviser a lightly glare before replied back. "No, adviser. Most of my guild members don't run away from their sins. However, at least they know very well what sort of justice is right and what isn't."

If he thought that what her guild were, a group of cowards, then he had it wrong. He should have remembered how Roy stood up against him. The young lord knew what had happened and he was readied to face his consequences. Although the paladin had barely met her new recent members, she knew for sure that they knew how to stand up for themselves when it came to right and wrong. Hopefully, the mage before them would try to prove his right against the adviser.

Derrin Hasstorn

Its not my fault you’re such a moron

Derrin,
One Step From the Edge

Just leave me alone

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well they had him. He was done. The ride back would have been silent... had Derrin not been caught. But since he had been, it was anything but silent. The mage didn't beg, he didn't whine and he didn't plead.

He ******** swore, threatened, and cursed the guards and their families. He was a delight, model captive.

"I'll rip out your hearts and feed them to your children! Let me go you worthless bastards or else I'll hunt down every last one of you! I'll destroy all you hold dear!"

Uhhh, maybe not. He struggled and kicked every step of the way. This caused him to fall off the horse a few times before the watch simply tied him to the beast. A few of his captors were sporting new bitemarks and bruises from that venture.

All of his struggling proved futile though, and it wasn't long before he found himself back at the manor, glaring at a man who smelled as if his armor had been dipped in alcohol. "Carpe cerevisi? Why the hell not?" he thought.

The phrase, under the circumstances, struck him as hilarious. "This... this is the man who should be leading the country!" Derrin pushed away such thoughts lest he be overcome by a fit of laughter.

If he started laughing, he feared he might never stop.

Then Ghis spoke and this time the mage couldn't help himself! That accent! It was just too perfect! It fit in completely with the rest of the man's image. Derrin perhaps would have tried to stifle his laughter, but as Jaren would have said, he was a little tied up at the moment. So he laughed directly into the watch commander's face. "Oh yes, I suppose if I had asked nicely, the guards at the door would have just let me walk right out? I bet I could have invited them to afternoon tea?" The sarcasm was a little obvious. But if it bothered the man, he didn't show it.

As the order was given to take him back into the manor, a soldier placed a hand on the mage's shoulder. Angrily, it was shaken off. "I can walk by myself dammit"

He held his head high as he marched up to the manor door. A long pause took place as he just stood there. "Well? Are you going to open the door for me? Or should I start running again?"

The guard opened the door for the mage, "What a nice young man you are." Derrin sneered as he walked into the manor and took his seat again.

For a while, neither Clara or Derrin spoke. They sat in awkward silence as the mage steeled himself to say what needed to be said. "Clara... I think you should find a new boyfriend, I--"

"Derrin Hasstorn, come forth."

He was just about to get up when that same damn guard, who kept touching him roughly, hauled him to his feet and shoved him forwards. "Touch me again and I'll rip your ******** throat out." Wisely, the solider released the mage and settled for simply following along, uncomfortably close, behind him.

Derrin took his place and stood stock still in silence. If looks could kill, well let's just say Rogvald would make an ugly corpse. Quietly with an expression that clearly showed his feelings, he allowed the old bat to finish.

"Guilty, of course, you silly twit! Unlike everyone else you'll punish today, I'm probably the only one who actually meant to do what I did! I know exactly what you're doing, you stupid a**." He hissed before turning his back on Rogvald to face those assembled, "Look around! Does anybody see that sorry excuse for a King?! Isn't the King supposed to be present in affairs like this? At the very least, the Regent! Which unless I missed the party, and I do apologise for, you are not! Does the King even know about this? Or is that why we aren't in the courtroom? An ugly old advisor, and a King who wouldn't know his head from his own a**. You two make a clichéd pair! So, Rogvald." He spat the name out as if it were a snake, "I refuse any punishment you may give on the grounds that you have no authority! Burn in hell, you p***k." He snarled and spat on Rogvald then.

It was a shaky argument, but it was all Derrin had. At the very leas,t he could be satisfied with spitting on the advisor.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please...

Magic is my life, my soul, my heart
PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 2:18 pm

Roy remained quiet as he listened to Rogvald said his bit before demanding they be sent off to some grand prison that was formerly an asylum. He sighed. So now they were going to be considered 'mentally unstable'. There was only so much he would take before losing his cool in political actions like this, and this damn adviser was really getting on his nerves. And the way he treated Blossom...damn, this man was an a**.

"So quick to judge, Adviser. Apparently you've never been in a battle before. If you were in my shoes, would you have the time to ask if the armor was friend or foe? A few moments is all it takes to decide if you live or die. It's not incompetence, it's survival. Just because Blossom and Lance were present does not mean that they were present at the time of the murders. You do not have the proof, nor the evidence, that the murders were done by them, except for my word and their words. For all you know, I was the only one who killed them, and they should up after the incident. Also, it should be Estarcia that should be holding this trial for us, not you. The crime was committed on their soil, after all." he said coldly.

Blah blah blah. Withholding evidence, accusations to the judge, blah. Just how deep would Roy dig this hole of his? As for his weapons that were to be confiscated...the SoS was stored away indefinitely (until he could find someone to Hammerne it back into good condition) since the bandit battle almost a year ago and only he and his close relatives knew the location of the blade. The Flame Sword, a rare weapon, would unfortunately be confiscated. It wasn't on his person though, and stored away back home. Good luck getting past the locks on it. The rapier would be lost too. As would whatever regular sword he had.

As the guards came to take him away, Roy turned to look up at Rogvald.

"...I think carrying the weight of all the lives one has cut short is punishment enough, old man. And you yourself are destroying the lives of people who made one small mistake throughout their careers, and thus ended everything they've done just like that. I wonder...can you carry that burden?" he asked. "I'll take my leave now."

And with that, Roy was escorted by the guards out of the manor. The swish of his cape would be the last thing anyone would see for a long time.

Fire Dragon

User ImageThe callous, disgusting nerve of that arrogant old man! Dismissively accusing his nephew of murder during war, without any developed examination of the circumstances or situation, without providing any of the accused with someone to assist in arguing their cases.

The very speed at which the “trials,” if you could even call them that, were taking place, alone, demonstrated Rogvald not as interested implemented any actual justice; he was interested in harming guild members. Honestly, to be targeting only guild members when there was an entire population in Eyris that had people, REAL criminals, that needed to be put on trial – nothing short of having an agenda. Especially since all the ‘crimes’ that were being tried took place during war. Anyone who’s ever participated in war knows how different the environment, how different circumstances are during a war. Except Rogvald. FD found it to be more than irritating. He had no knowledge of whether Rogvald had ever been in a war, but given this advisor’s words and behavior, it wouldn’t matter – the man was putting people on trial entirely for the sake of punishing guild members on whatever casual grounds he felt like.

“Like mankind from the Scouring,” FD commented under his belt, his blood slowly boiling as he thought of the humans who justified that war with lies mixed with half-lies, who made heroes and legends out of racist murderers, who condemned dragonkind on baseless grounds.

He wasn’t familiar with most of the people who were being put on trial thus far. The only one he even vaguely knew other than Roy was the poor girl suffering a breakdown – which Rogvald had mocked – who had graciously attended his and Nils’ wedding. But he felt for them all.

Especially Roy. The manner in which this man was treating his nephew exacerbated his antipathy towards Rogvald. He found himself getting more and more upset until Roy responded. Roy’s selflessness, honesty, and most importantly, courage and bravery made the dragon proud to be his uncle – especially for calling out the old man on the ridiculous fallacies being used to conduct these trials. Ninian was still absent from Eyris, but she’d have been so proud of, and surely worried for, her son, he thought, as would Nils, too busy with all his crew duties to be present. But FD would bear their rightful pride in the young lord for them in that moment. After Roy’s rebuttal before being taken away, FD stood up to applaud for his nephew while the lord was being taken away. Roy at least deserved to know people, and especially his family, supported him despite what was being done. He sat back down after Roy was gone.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed
Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your
will to live...

Blossom shook her head, desperately wanting to explain something, anything, to make things make sense to him, but no words came. We were trying to help them! We heard fighting and it was dark and I couldn't see and then I didn't even know... no one told me anything... anything at all...

The Hero clutched tightly still onto her scarf, bowing her head. The tears did not come yet, but the trembling continued. I only wanted to help. And it had somehow turned around to attempt to destroy her. Her desire to protect and to defend those she cared about had put her in prison, and this knowledge weighed upon her heavily enough to make her want to simply curl up right there on the floor.

You wouldn't have left if it wasn't for him.

Blossom gritted her teeth, even as the tears began to fall. This was wrong. This was very, very wrong. They had been in war and casualties were bound to happen, and if anything, there couldn't have been more than five men in there that were killed. And they were being sent to jail. For unintended deaths. During wartime.

"...the three of you will be sent to the grand prison to await your final sentences. Your weapons will be taken and the guards will prepare you for transportation. Next case!"

Blossom stood in silence, still shaking like a wet dog, as they bound her wrists. She stared at the floor, watching the hands of the guard restraining her. Her, a small woman, with not enough physical strength to do much damage without a means to arm herself.

"How... how dare you," Blossom hissed as they began to lead her out. She twisted around, turning to face Rogvald, and the expression on her face was one to behold, a look of pure fear mixed with rage, tears streaking down her face. "How dare you! How dare you judge an act you weren't there for! You don't know what happened! You don't know any of us! This is not justice! This is not justice! This is cruelty!" Blossom let out a weak sound, the glare softening as she slowly began to realize what she was doing.

She gritted her teeth again, managing to hold her position to hiss, "I hope your 'justice' eats you alive, you scumbag." Without another word, she allowed the guard to escort her from the room, shoulders bowed and head tilted forward.

Please... let me wake up... let this all be a nightmare...

Advisor Rogvald

Lend me your ear!
...Heed my words.
ogvald

xxxxxThe pathetic and misguided words of the prisoners were heard, but ignored. They clearly missed the point. Responsibility had to be taken on the matter to make sure Estarcia did not react towards them in anger. Mordache and Sentria were already against them. They did not need Estarcia to join them. People have fought over simpler things. Nobody seemed to not understand that it was a war crime that their precious captain had chosen not to act upon. How spoiled he had made them. Misunderstandings in war happen, that was obvious. Little old ladies knew that. But apparently they had not bothered to actually take his words to heart! When the killings were covered up, it became a war crime. It was as simple as that. And Rogvald had all the proof he needed by the boy's confession. He said everything, whether he realized it or not. And oh, boo hoo, he thinks feeling bad is punishment enough. Naive brat. He needed to wake up and join the real world.

xxxxxAs for the girl, her commentary was more laughable than the boy's. How dare he judge? Well, uh, he IS the judge. Throwing a temper tantrum like she was made her look foolish, nothing more. She was simply refusing to accept that she had done something wrong. Maybe if she met the families of the soldiers that were killed, she would feel differently.

xxxxxBut oh yes, there was a new criminal before him. Rogvald listened to his words and found them to be the most senseless words he had ever heard. He shook his head. The Eyris citizens and the soldiers scowled at the boy. They didn't take what he said about their king very well. "You know, speaking out against the King is an act of treason... A sin punishable by death. But considering you are just a town fool incapable of expressing rational thought, I suppose you deserve some leniency. I will forgive your treason. But seeing as how you plead guilty, you will still receive punishment. You will join the other criminals and go to the grand prison to await sentencing." He held up his hand, predicting that the imbecile would speak out like the others had. "Ah! Guards, cover his mouth before his tongue forces him to commit suicide." The guard who was by the boy took out some bandages from his pack and tied it around the boy's mouth. Nobody wanted to hear his idiocy anymore. It was a gift, really. If he had said anymore, the citizens in the room would have assaulted and possible killed him. "I take it any weapons he had were already taken? Very well then. Next case!" He banged his gabble.

xxxxx"I call forward..." The papers were rummaged through like usual. "Rei, son of Lady Nino, Abel Fallon, Captain Needles, Officers Leek, Chickenwire, Clang, and Large, and..." His eyelids lowered. "...Melethia Dagon. ... ...Where in blazes is this Melethia Dagon?!" A guard came up to him and whispered in his ear about her being at the asylum. He sighed. "...Of course she is. No matter, moving along!"

xxxxxRogvald looked down at the ones who had come forward. It was obvious by the faces present and names called what they had been called about. It was also clear that the names of the crew involved had been blatantly left out. And they would remain left out, if nobody brought it up. "You are charged with conspiracy, to put it simply. I have become aware of two springs ago, when a wretch by the name of Asami came and threatened to take over Learania. You all are known to have assisted her, with Melethia having brought her to the country in the first place! There seem to be mysterious circumstances surrounding this event, so your punishments may not be severe... but nevertheless, I find myself appalled. Son of a well respected guild captain, nobody important, captain in the army, officers of the Watch! People of your status should know better! How do you plead?"

I advise you to listen. Not doing so could prove... deadly.

Just when the paladin thought that the mage was going to defend himself for what happened, he went the opposite and pleaded guilty. This surprised the Dame Knight. The fool! What is he thinking? Isadora thought as she watched Derrin shouted to the people about the King and later spat at the adviser. If they were in a small room and less audience to see, Isadora would have gotten up to the fool and smack him behind the head. Seriously, was he trying to get himself more trouble than he had right now?

Luckily, Rogvald had dismissed him for the act of treason due to his foul temper. It would have relieved her, but the fool had pleaded guilty. If the adviser had left the mage in her charge, she would have scowled him for his behavior. Hadn't the fool saw that she had lost three members already?

When the guards took Derrin away, the paladin held her breath for the next prosecution. If the adviser is going from recent war to the earliest, she would know for sure that it was the last autumn event that happened. She had a bad feeling that her name would be next to call for what happened during the autumn event: the war that took placed in Sentria. Isadora was aware that the subject would be brought up since that was the reason why Sentria declared war. They didn't invade and tried to attack Sentria. They had to go to the desert to rescue a certain member of their group. However, they had to do it in secret if they had to rescue the girl. After all, would Sentria believe them that a sorceress had escaped from her prison, kidnapped the girl, and took her to Sentria where they were forced to enter? She had a feeling that explanation would be a likely story to the adviser.

But when the adviser called out the names, this surprised the paladin even more. What? You're calling forth those that took placed two springs ago instead of last autumn? Isadora thought bewildered. Why did Rogvald skip all the way to the spring event two years ago? The paladin thought for sure that the autumn event would be called forth and she would be next. Was it because there was nothing for the adviser to look and prosecuted those that took part in the autumn event? ... Or was it because the adviser was unable to find it?

The paladin knew quite well that Rogvald tried to uncover many secrets that Rath had after the nomad's arrest. After all, the former captain refused to answer the adviser about what happened to Nino. So was it Rath's doing that he had managed to hide information about the events that happened from the spring two years ago to the Estarcia war? If so, then she was thankful of him to save her. She would be devastated if she was put on trial and there would be no crew to take her place if receiving the consequence that would withheld her position. She didn't want the guild to be fallen apart or be disband. But after seeing how the trial were going, it seemed that Rogvald had managed to break the guild one by one. And as much as Isadora wanted to tell Rogvald to back off and informed him that the trial was unfair and unjustified, she couldn't. These were the acts that the guild members had done in the past and they were slide off due to their heroism to help protect the people and the land. How could the paladin be able to protect her guild members when their acts in the past were against the jurisdiction?

Once the battle at Vayrin was over, Abel had been taken back to Eyris and the clerics from Pentheus made sure that they found him and took care of him. When Abel woke up, he heard what happened. He couldn't believe it. The clerics were pretty happy about the new king though, so Abel figured it wasn't really all that bad. Rath never was the rightful ruler of Learania, so it made sense that he would hand over rule when the rightful heir appeared. And Rath would still be captain of the guild, right?

That's when Abel heard about Rath being arrested. He hadn't attended the coronation. He was feeling too down. He hadn't even gone to see Alihi- he only presumed she had gone to live at her brother's house. But rumors spread through the streets fast and it wasn't long before everyone knew about the captain's arrest. Abel was utterly dumbfounded. He didn't know the guy all too well, but he still knew him. He had never taken him as the type of guy to... to murder anybody. ...But from the talk of the town, it seemed most citizens were leaning towards believing it.

Abel didn't like what was happening, and it only got worse when he received a sudden summons to go to Fefga Manor by some guy named Rogvald. He had no idea what it was for or why it sounded so urgent, but that summons was written very seriously. Abel didn't want to cause any problems, so he decided to go.

When he got there, he sat down and watched everything unfold. Once his jaw dropped, it never came back up. Yeah, bad things had happened and the people called had made bad decisions... but it wasn't right for them to be treated like they were. Abel was not smart, intellectually. But he knew right from wrong. That Rogvald was making up his own justice as he went along! Surely, even if deserving of punishment, jailing them and treating them like criminals did not have to happen. Maybe doing that was a norm of society throughout the world, Abel had no idea. But Learania had done well with the way Nino and Rath had done things. There were other ways...

When Abel's name was called, his heart sunk. Even without being intelligent, he knew something bad was about to happen. Everyone else had been sent to jail. ...Abel didn't want to go to jail. He looked around and then slowly got up. He proceeded forward along with the others and stopped where they stopped. When he heard why he had been called, horrible memories came back. He had already suffered so much for that. He had been in agony at having to know he had killed people and the citizens had hated him for so long. It was only earlier in the year when the people forgave him instead of beating on him. Abel hung his head in shame.

He felt guilty and always had. But he had never received a proper punishment like he knew he should have. Still... "It's... not like you say... sir." He gulped. "I don't know what everyone else did, but I know I did kill people. For I while, I didn't know if I would be able to even go on... A-and it may sound like nothing but an excuse, but I never wanted or meant to kill anybody! I don't really understand what Asami even was, but... somehow, when she struck, she could infect people and make them do horrible things. In essence, we were forced to do what we did without even knowing we were doing it." He tried to look the man in the eyes, but found it too difficult. "I'm not saying I should be let off, but... we didn't conspire to do anything."
