Was it Lavender's presence, or had one of her little ocean friends startled them? They seemed more uncertain, like lambs in a forest searching for eyes they knew just had to be watching. Of course the cave would seem like a dark and scary place to these dwellers, they lived in wooden boxes always lit with light during the night hours! Oh, look how close they are! Snuggled like two bunnies in the winter with a batch of baby bunnies on the way! She smiled dreamily and only caught the sigh of admiration at the last second, not that they might have heard it being her size and the humans dull hearing. Oh this was wonderful, the summer months were on them and visitors were here, what a perfect reminder of the most beautiful time of year! Why these two – shell? Lavender tapped a small finger to her chin and found her mouth smothered by her own hands to silence the squeal of delight that had threatened to make its presence known. She remembered the shell! Oh ho, the gift she designed to compete with the girl's own looks, of course it was a thing to remember, but she didn't think anyone really would!
Cause of me, dummy. Lavender retorted in her head to the man's comment of the shell. Some people just didn't know how to believe, did they? Always asking questions! And now – and now he was doing something? Craning her neck, she listened with keen ears and peered with eyes accustomed to the fuzzy vision of the just barely lit environment. Had a shell really come off her shrine? She would have noticed if it had, wouldn't she? What kind of fairy let that happen to their own shrine? Watching closely, she waited for the shell to come into clearer view.

Celeste shrugged but hadn't let go of Robert so it was a bit awkward and lopsided, not that anyone could tell since it was so dark. She she didn't get to give him her opinion becuase he was searching the ground for something. Trying to figure out what he was doing she bent over to see what he was looking for, but her view was blocked when he proceeded to bend over to pick something up. He picked it up and immediately showed it to her. She took it from his hand and turned it over a couple times as she looked it over. Holding it in the light she saw that it was pink. Blehg. Not her favorite color. And it was no where near as pretty as the shell on her bed, but if Robert was right then it was meant to go on the shrine and it didn't really matter what she thought now then did it?
She wasn't really sure why she had to put the shell back on the shrine... maybe he was to manly to decorate? Oh well, if putting it back would get them out of there she would do it. She finally released his arm and stepped up to the shrine. She shrivered, man these things creeped her out. She turnd to look back at Robert, before reaching out and setting the shell on the shrine. She took a quick coupl of steos backward to Robert. "Done!" She said with forced brightness. "Can we go now?"

The beam of the flash light idly crossed the stoney surroundings, not crossing the path of the shell to give Lavender the view she wanted. There couldn't be a single chance that Lavender would ever let a shell fall from her beautiful shrine, her only real companion that listened to her! She called the shrine Shriney.. Being insulted at the idea of it, Lavender didn't keep close watch of where her feet went and what areas she grabbed onto. The stone was slippery and her grip buttery, and Lavender was leaning more and more out to get a clearer look at the shell. It was a pink shell! Could that be – she slipped; she slipped as soon as the shell had been brought toward the shrine and she leaned just a little too far to get a good look at it first. With a small plop, Lavender was sinking to the bottom of the fountain. Now, mind you, she could swim up any time, but she was too busy catching up with what just happened. She fell; she fell because a shell was out of place. Yes, that's it. By then, Lavender had already hit the bottom of the fountain, and what she hit wasn't stone. With a squish, she was sitting on a soft material Lavender had forgotten she had grown to help the darkness.
As soon as she came into contact with the fungus, it reacted to it as nature intended it to – it began to glow a fuzzy green tinted light. When it lit, the fungus next to it followed suit, and as did the others that grew throughout the fountain. Within a few seconds of the shell being placed on the structure, the shrine was lit by a hazy glow, casting a light on the caves walls and the onlookers that watched.

I was thinking of something. I was always thinking. However, whatever had been thought my head was now long gone. I was too busy grabbing Celest closer against me, pulling her thigh. I had no idea what had just happened, but it would have appear that she...we...me...someone, had done something. No, it wasn't a very coherent thought, but truth to be told, I was that confused by the events. The then dark cave was now glowing. Nothing like that had happened at any of the other shrines, so why this one? We had touched all of them, yet, not of them had react like the one here was now reacting. Could it be that, all along, this was the one shrine that Celest wanted me to see? Why going through all the others then? Maybe it was to read the names that were on them... maybe... Oh, I just didn't know what was happening anymore. "I don't supose this was done on purpose, right...?" I asked her, trying to understand where and why that light came from.

It was glowing. Holy crap it was glowing. Had... had she done that? By putting the stone back? Celeste's eyes widened at the glow that seemed to spread from the fountain just after she had set down the shell- And then everything went dark. Robert had grabbed her and pulled her tight to him, and her face had landed in his jacket, blocking her vision. Being just a freaked out by the creepy glow she wrapped her arms around him, instead of pushing him away as she probably would have done otherwise. Turning her head so that her cheek was to his jacket and she could see the glow again she shook her head. "I... I ... I didn't do it!" She protested. This was NOT happening. Not at all. "Maybe you dropped your flashlight?" Okay so, it was a dumb question... but a girl could hope right?

Oh shoot, oh shoot, oh shoot! She liked company but this was a little embarrassing! Not that she really talks to people too often, or ever, Lavender usually just spent time watching people from the shadows. An upfront confrontation like this would be so awkward! She blinked against the salty water, staring up at the panicky couple that were now much clearer against the glow of the fungus. How could she have forgotten she planted this stuff? It was for guest since most of them stayed out of her cave for it being so dark and spooky. Well, it had been a long time since anyone visited anyways.. Pushing the strands of blue from her sight, Lavender uprighted herself as she gained a tingly sensation in her stomach. It started out like a tickle and grew to a full out busy buzz. Uh-oh. Outside the cave, the oceans were churning as the hurricane winds began to blow. Such a fuss in the sea sent things straight into the cave – things like seals, lots and lots of seals. Now, her ocean friends were quite polite, but it was gonna get crowded. Moving to the opposite side of the pillar that was in the center of the fountain, she arose from the water and shook herself. She had to tell them to find a different part of the cave to rest in.
Already she could hear the barking of the seals as they start to pile in to escape the waters that were picking up outside, much out of the sight to her guest, but the water would rise to trap them inside. If they tried to leave they would discover the cave mouth has been engulfed by water and to try and swim it would be suicide. That didn't set up for a very good mood towards a hoped to be friendly meeting. Giving her wings a good flick to shake them free of the droplets, she hopped down to the floor of the cave where she could try and press herself flat against the wall of her fountain and sneak around. It went well until one of her 'ocean friends' spotted her directly across from the red head.
The seal, being a simple minded creature, was quick to let the others know of their friend and were hopping along now in the direction of Lavender, that also being the direction of the red headed girl. To which they stopped abruptly at to grin whiskery mouths at. Normally they would be bothered by the two legged creatures, but in this case, they were all here for the same reason and trying to be snobbish to the humans would just make unnecessary problems for them all. Others maneuvered around the two and completely covered Lavender from sight, leaving the slippery creatures barking noisily for her attention. In the fluster, the little fairy took off into the air to escape from being crushed, buzzing just above the head of the girl but far enough to be of no notice among the noise. So, in turn, all the seals were left staring at Lavender, or in appearance, staring at Celeste, barking their excitement and annoyance of the weather. Lavender's attempts to signal without speaking for them to leave came to no avail.

At the sounds of distnat barking echoing off the cave walls, Celeste's head came up quickly and she whipped around, not letting go of Robert to see where the noise was coming from. Who, in their right minds, would bring their dogs out to the beach at this time of night?
Predictably her question was answered swiftly and in a manner she definietly wasn't expecting. Instead of a person and their canines out for a late night walk, their was a herd... cluster, group, troupe, pride, pod?.... of selas entering the cave and heading straight for them. Celeste looked over to Robert, eyes wide in awe and fear. "What in the world?" She breathed in confusion. She tightened her grip on his arm and put herself as close to him as possible as the seals surrounded them. But what was even more terrifying was that all the seals seemed to be looking directly at her, abrking at her... like they were talking to her. "Robert," she said without taking her eyes off the energetic seals, "what... what do you think they want?" And then, because this was getting a little to hokey and, because she had to be losing her mind, she asked the seals, "What is it seals? Did Timmy fall down the well?"

For a moment, I thought about taking a gun and bringing it to my own head in order to end it all. This was all getting so very... strange. So strange, that it wasn't possible. I had to be becoming crazy. There was only so much a man could take before starting to think about suicide. However, unfortunately, I didn't have a gun with me. Anti-weapon's law and everything. I held Celeste tighter against me, but not without first wondering if she had anything to do about it. She was a fairy afterall. Maybe she was the one controlling the seals? They also all seemed to be responding to her. "You can speak seal?" I asked her in perfect honesty. Who knew what a fairy could do! Understanding animal was... a useful skill for a fairy, I suppose. As for what they wanted, I had no idea. She was the fairy! Not me! She had been the one bringing me into all this trouble! Would it be too hard for her to give me a straight answer for once?

Lavender could feel the churning oceans in her stomach, rising higher and higher, swishing and – oh god she was going to puke. She'd save that for later, fairy puke might have some adverse effect on the humans, who knows? First to deal with her talkative friends who blamed her for the weather or were just too excited about it. Zipping back and forth, she tried to signal for the seals to go away, her flight pattern going left, to right, to left, to right – the seals heads also went left and right, allowing them to fall into a moment of silence as they followed her. Then, in a mighty bark that echoed off the cave walls, the seals made way for the biggest of them all. What was unveiled from the sea of seals, was one that raised himself proudly, his chest puffed out with little eyes glinting. What made him even more special? Lavender groaned. Adorning this big boys head, was a crown made from some fake gold material chock full of false jewels of many colors. How did he even get that to stay on his head? Well, that didn't matter. He barked again and Lavender went from annoyed that she ever gave the dumb seal that toy when he was a pup to infuriated. Did he just call her a – Lavender covered her mouth as the seal made it quite clear he was unhappy about the sudden hurricane. She glared at him. The seal, looking at Lavender, or at Celeste, barked on as though in conversation. Dipping his head, slapping a flipper, grunting, twitching a whisker, barking of course – most of it, if not all of it, was ranting and very rude. At least, to the humans, it'd just look like a very talkative seal, or they might be just as angry with him as she was! Call her a plankton muncher.. She'd give him something to munch on! The other seals watched in silence, he was the strongest bull out of all of them, so when he spoke they listened.

She had looked over at Robert with some surprise. "No I can't speak seal... what do you think I am?" She asked incredulously, but didn't necessarily wait for an answer because the seals were now shaking there head at her! Had they understood her? Holy crap... what the heck was she?!
Then to make matters worse, a large seal with what had to be a crown on his head moved to the front of the crowd. He must have been their leader... their alpha? Did it work like wolves? Oh what did it matter it seemed like the big guy was yelling at her! Celeste automatically moved backwards, pulling Robert along with her because there was no way she was going to let him go. Not with that big bully yelling at her like that. Almost at the last second she remembered that their were seals all around them and stopped before she bumped into the ones behind them. "What did I do?" She wondered aloud.

This was getting out of control! I had no idea what was happening. This wasn't a work for a private investigator! This was the work for a occult practitioner... or a veterinarian! No a man like me who had never seen a real seal before that that! I looked at Celest, a small panic in my eyes. Very, very small panic. It couldn't show.. or at least I hopped so. "I don't know? A fairy?" I answered her, half truthful, half as a joke. That was what she was, right? That little green fairy I had met at the lighthouse not that long ago. I couldn't see what else she could be. Well.. It was either that, or she was a normal human with no connection whatsoever on anything that had happened before and had only been mixed to everything thought sheer coincidence.. but that was a bit far fetched. "They seem to listen to you, why don't know... talk to them?" This was as good a solution as any... I was rather useless right now.

The nicknamed seal king raised his regal mug upwards, his whiskery mouth twitching in his mighty irritant. His slippery onlookers watched in silence as the seal slapped to the ground his flipper and gave a bark of demand. It insulted, and infuriated, little Lavender. What a mouthy little sea dweller he was! She was too busy being angry to notice the churning in her stomach was no longer from the oceans own rage, but from the one her crowned friend set in the pit of her stomach. Face a burning red, she stick her own nose up at the snobby seal and flashed him her tongue, that in turn the seal did so as well. Which looked rather silly coming from a seal mouth. Lavender, caught up in the moment of rage, did something not too smart – quite stupid actually. Summoning to life one of her personal belongings, she tossed at the direction of the seal a little box.
This box, colored a lovely red with little pink hearts, carried within it things Lavender had been collecting for the day her darling Orchid finally gave into her charm and gave that beautiful, smooth, body to Lavender's hands. Within it, was tiny lingerie that looked like it'd fit a barbie doll as well as a note that sat atop of the tiny clothes. This note, in large print, read on the front Quest. In smaller lettering, but still readable to the larger people – Take these to the Earth Shrine atop of the mountain. Leave the box atop of the shrine, and wait for nature's beauty to make itself known. This, in fact, was Lavender's to do list that she had to write ominous like just because, well, she was a fairy. Come on, they're creatures of fairy tale, plus Lavender got bored easy and needed to entertain herself. Now, her precious gift for her was so going to be lover if she could just figure out how to get Orchid's attention, was balanced on the nose of the arrogant seal! Damnit, why were they so good at that?! Oh goddess, what was she going to do? She couldn't just buzz down and grab it herself! She'd be in front of those people and – oh god how did she look? Was her hair nice? Did she have a pimple? Can fairies get pimples?
The little box on the nose of the seal, seeming to have come out of no where, looked at it smugly. Yeah, he was cool. But, he didn't have much interest for the dinky box, so he decided to rid of it. Ridding of it, being leaning forward toward the red head that stared at him like he was the weird looking creature, and barked the command for her to remove it from his royal snout.

Celeste looked at Robert, her eyes disbelieveing, her mouth slightly open as if she wanted to say something but wasn't quiet sure what she wanted to say. His fairy comment was so absurd it was laughable... or would be if Celeste didn't have a thing against all that magic stuff. But instead of blowing up on the only normal thing with her, Celeste simply rolled her eyes and ground out, "This is no time for joking..." Not about her being a fairy or about her talking to them. These loud obnoxious seals didn't understand her and there was no way she could... under... stand...
Oh no. The biggest one was leaning toward her and it had a box on his nose... now, where had that thing come from? The seal barked at her, seemingly indignant at the red box on his nose. Oh no, oh no. There was no way she was actually reading that seals hand... er, flipper gestures?! Celeste groaned mentally and leaned forward, still holding onto Robert, she reached out a slightly shaky hand and quickly grabbed out the box, trying not to touch the seal. Pulling back to Robert she looked down at the little red box with pink hearts. She handed it off to Robert. "You're the PI... you open it...please."

I didn't know what to think of anything anymore. For now, i would simply go with the events, hoping that fate, or something, would guide me toward what needed to be done. It might have been strange, for a detective like me to let things up to fate, but when you had to deal with fairies and seals, there were only a certain amount of things you could take before shoving your logic into a small box and burying it in the middle of nowhere in your mind. I didn't even bother wondering where that box had came from, how how seals could write "Quest" on a roll of parchment. I just decided to consider it a normal course of event. I took the paper, and I read it. So... this was what I had to do? Then why going all the way up and down the montain before? Couldn't they have just told me this now? This...was frustrating. "It says... it says that we need to bring this to the top of the mountain... where the shrine is...." Tonight? No, no. It was late! In fact, so late that it was early! I could see the sun raising from the cave's entrence....wait, the sun? Ah! The hurricane was over... when did it stop? I didn't knew, but I'd be damn if I'd stay here any longer. It felt like a whole season had passed already! "We should leave.... and deal with this later. We need some sleep." Statement of the century.

Celeste watched, wide eyed, partly intrigued and partly terrified of what could be in the box that the seal had found and been playing with. Cause there was no way the seal could have made it magically appear and then have offered it to her. Not possible. So they had been playing with it and had gotten bored and had given it to her to get rid of it. Simple, easy, not magic.
Celeste leaned closer to Robert to try and read the parchment that he had unrolled. She needn't have bothered. He summed it up for her. She was just about to protest when he spoke again, this time with words she hadn't even realized she wanted to hear as much as she did until he said them. "Yes. Please. That sounds like the best idea either of us have had all night." She said night on something of a weary sigh. And noticed that with the end of the storm the seals were beginning to clear out. "Looks like the seals are tired of this creepy cave too." She murmured mostly to herself, then looked up at Robert, her arm still linked in his. "Erm, now that the sun is up you can lead us out of here and point me in the direction of the inn right? Let's get out of here."
[Exit Celeste and Robert to there seperate residences... again unless of course you wanted something else to happen. Just figured this needed to end as well. XD]
