Lolz. You guys said fingerings. Im perverted in my group. Okay. Trombone is way easier than Baritone. I have like 26 in our section and we kick major a** is our Highschool band. I know its hard marching with a slide, trust me, but dont be wimp and back out about it. I havent fell for my first time of marching at all. And this is a freshman talking to you. You just need the proper skills on your marching. Our director is really big on military and expects us to not fall which some of dont do. Baritone is easy in marching but wait until concert season. It bites u in the a** BIG time. So all I'm sying is dont back out outbecuase you can not get it right. Practice makes perfect. Well, if you band has afternoons classes and has band camp before school starts. Just saying. Ive got in troube plenty of times bcuz of my stupid mistakes but I didnt back out about it. I kept going. As my director once said, " Leave it on the field." And dont forget ur not the one messing up, its ur director whose ******** you up. The intervals are supposed to be arm length apart. If your to close into hitting some one then your one messing it up. But if its ment like that ur director is ******** U up. Get what I'm saying?

Baritone is actually much easier in concert than marching. It's tone is terrible in marching form. Concert baritones sound amazing. Seriously.
Also, hitting someone is easy with trombone seeing as it is way bigger than a persons ARM.(Directed at person above)

@Rainbow- I would do Trombone during concert seasons so i would be fine. Also i havent fallen yet so i wasnt really talking about that.

@Elegant- my tone on Trombone is wonderful outside i just can get very loud so i also feel Baritone will help with that increasing air support and all.

Plus baritone will help for when if i feel like doing Drum Corps

I have played flute for twelve years. Three years ago I switched from marching on flute to marching on Baritone. It was one of my favorite switches. It is easier than it seems. smile You will do just fine.

There are marching euphoniums and there are marching baritones. If you were are real euphonium player you would know that. there are also things called double bell euphoniums but since you didn't realize that baritones are a different version of the euphonium it is just a marching horn, I wouldn't be surprised that you don't know those exist either. So please do not try and outsmart other band kids because most of the time other people know more... Especially music majors which take five years to study music and instruments...
Thanks smile

I understand its what you were told haha happens to me all the time. Of course i should have learned to stop listing to that person by now but whatever haha also at your school they may all happen to be Marching Euphoniums my school is too cheap all we have is 30 year old Mercedes Bach Marching Baritones I would probably save up and buy a nicer one for myself cause the school ones suck
