 Gilderoy noticed Luna and waved her over. "Hey Luna right?",he aks from where he was. "Why dont you join us?",Gilderoy was one of the few 7th years who actually didnt mind hanging out with the younger wizards,whereas most 7th years picked on them.

--- Luna looked up again at Gilderoy. She smiled, happy to actually be included by one of the 7th years. She was surprised he wasn't picking on her.
Luna jumped up from her seat and walked over to where him and two others were seated, still smiling. "Thank you", Luna said quietly, putting her book and backpack down and sitting herself.

Severus wandered around the Great Hall, looking for his best friend, Luna. He finally spotted her. Grinning, he walked over and sat down beside her, but his smile disappeared as soon as he saw Gilderoy. The boy was one of James's friends. Severus looked down. "Hello Luna. Nice to see you." He nodded at Gilderoy. "You too, er, Lockheart."

~ Lockhart~ ~A celebrity is as a celebrity does~ Gilderoy grinned at Severous. "Same here old chap.",he says to him,patting him on shoulder. "So you know Luna?",he asked Severous. Gilderoy never really got around to talking to him much. Mainly becouse James didnt like him. "Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

Sips her juice again, trying not to be nervous with the new faces - especially since they knew each ther already!
Easy now...she reminds herself. They were new once too..
Eliza clears her throat. "Hi y'all -" extending a hand to both Luna and Snape. "this is my first year at Hogwarts but I have some tricks up my sleeve.."
Gives them both pralines.

--- Luna winked at Severus, her best friend. It was a small wink meaning to say: It's okay. Gilderoy isn't going to be mean to you like James. She shivered. James Potter, though being in Gryffindor, always gave her chills up her spine. Partly because James bullied her friend. "Yes, I know him very well, thank you", Luna answered for Severus.
She looked over to the girl that was shakily extending her hand towards her. Luna didn't care for new aquaintances at the moment, so she didn't do anything and let her eyes drift back to her book.

Severus smiled when Luna answered for him. That's Luna all right, he thought. Last year she'd run into some trouble with James trying to stop him from bullying Severus and was given an 'accidental' personality changing spell: Luna didn't speak for weeks, and hardly acknowledged anyone's prescence. Well, the teachers never did get to the bottom of it or James would have been expelled. And that's how their friendship came to be, that she had stood up for him like that...
His ears perked up at the other girl's short comment. Luna did nothing but Severus shook her hand. "Pleased to meet you. Snape. Severus Snape."

Eliza lets her hand drop from Luna's.
Well if she wasn't going to be friendly...
Then turns her attention towards Snape, trying not to loose her nerve now.
"Likewise, do you prefer to be addressed by your first name or last...?"
Much like Gilderoy, she felt this was one who deserved respect but perhaps for other reasons. Least of which, he too was kind at first to newcommers at Hogwarts.
Trying not to blush as she withdraws her hand after giving of the candied pecans.

Gilderoy sat down on a nearby bench.
"Well seems to be a merry bunch this morning.",he said absentmindidly fiddling with a buton on his shirt cuff.

"Please call me Severus", he said quietly, bowing to the girl, at the same time nudging Luna. He didn't like it when people where upset, and disliked it even more if it were his friends who were provoking that. "Luna, say hello to the first-year", Severus pressed.

--- Luna rolled her eyes but stood up all the same. She curtsied. "I'm sorry if I was rude to you. I'm a bit distracted at the moment." She eyed Severus. "I'm Luna. Nice to meet you." Luna gathered her books and turned to the boy. "Sorry for such a short hello, but I really must be going." Passing Gilderoy, she paused turning around. "Two sorry's in a minute! Gosh, that's a record, isn't it? See you around!" Luna ran out of the Great Hall down the corridor and out of sight.

Gilderoy grinned.
"It's been lovely meeting you all,but I'm afraid I must be off.",he said,grabbing an apple and turning to leave.
"Till next time!",he said flashing them a bright smile.

Seeing as she was now alone with Snape, Eliza scoots over and gestures for him to join her.
"Do you have a few moments before first class, Severus? I could use an experianced set of eyes and direction to find my way around this place."
True she could have probably asked the paintings.
But that wouldn't make her seem too friendly would it?
Plus - she had to trust more - maybe she wouldn't end up in the Owls nesting area again!

Severus smiled. "Of course, dear!" But then a thought popped into his head and frowned. "Actually, wouldn't a map just be easier? It'll waste less of your time, and if you don't remember all I tell you, you could get lost quite easily. Hogwarts is very big." He snatched a map off of a shelf and handed it to her. "Here. I'm sure we'll meet again, and if you want, we can talk some more, alright? I really have to catch up with Luna." Severus winked at Gilderoy. "Goodbye, Lockheart!" He rushed down the door and disappeared. "Goodness, I didn't even catch the poor girl's name... I wish Luna would always be less stubborn!"
