Aylin looked over towards the river and then up at the sky. She did admit it was a rather hot day. Cooling off wouldnt hurt and because she had a darker coat drying off in the sun would be faster. "Sure why not" she said smiling.

Aquila returned the smile with his own grin, before turning to head back toward the water. He noticed as he reached the water's edge that his fur had already completely dried due to the heat. Good thind he was going back in. Finding a nearby rock that jutted out slightly over the water, Aquila climbed onto it and prepared to jump in. He knew the water was deep enough, having just gotten out of it only moments ago. In a giant leap, Aquila landed in the river with a splash.
Holding his breath and opening his eyes, Aquila kicked towards the surface. The current had pushed him a few meters away from the rock he had jumped from, but it wasn't too strong. Treading water, more like slowly swimming against the current, he looked to Aylin to see if she would really join him in the river.

Aylin waded into the water slowly to adjust to the temperature since this was her first time in the water. It was slightly chilly but not too uncomfortable. It was actually pretty refreshing when compared to sitting in the shade on dry land. She dipped under the water and let the current carry her down to where Aquila was as she had entered the river a little higher than him. When she saw his legs in the water she popped up occasionally kicking to keep her a float and not swimming aimlessly down the river. She laughed a bit shaking her head. “So now what?”

Aquila shrugged, swimming in circles around Aylin as she joined him. “Anything you want,” he replied with a laugh of his own. “Now this!” And as he said this, Aquila used his tail to send a wave of water at Aylin. Laughing even more, Aquila continued his circling her, but at a farther distance, wondering if she would retaliate. Finally he decided to stop before her, a little upstream, and just smiled and waited.

Aylin glared at him before ducking back in the water and swimming after him. when he paused a bit up stream she dived down a bit more and popped up behind him splashing him with water back. "got you sir" she laughed before diving back under. It was a weird way of swimming but she had learned from watching all the other land and aquatic creatures since she had, had no parents of her own to teach her.

Aquila watched her dive underwater, amused at how difficult it was to see her. Aylin blended in quite well, and he didn't even see it coming when she finally resurfaced and splashed him back, before diving under again. Inhaling deeply and holding his breath, Aquila followed her down. He could see her better now, and began chasing after her for as long as his lungs would allow.

Aylin managed to take a breath right as he dived into the water so they would have the same amount of air. She quickly darted around the water having gotten caught for a few seconds before she managed to get away. There had been a lot of close calls and her adrenaline was running amok.

Aquila was thoroughly enjoying the little race, but eventually his lungs and muscles could no longer keep up. With one last burst of energy, he propelled himself through the water. Aylin was right in front of him, and he was closing in on her again.
Just as he was about to reach out and catch her again, he noticed something strange in the water ahead. The river flow had slowly been increasing, something Aquila had previously attributed to his and Aylin's swimming speed, and there were a lot more rocks ahead.
Tapping Aylin with his paw, he returned to the surface. The reasons behind the changes Aquila had noticed were now quite obvious. "Sounds like we're approaching rapids," he called to the vixen, trying to both fight the current and stick with Aylin. He didn't want anything bad to happen to her, and if they were seperated, who knew what would happen.

Aylin nodded and looked up towards the rapids again. At one point in time they would have not worried her at all but it had been awhile since she had gone swimming and was a bit rusty. Obviously this was not the time to see if she still had her skills. “yeah I see them. We should probably make our way to the shore.” Aylin stated. In her luck rapids always where just ahead of nasty little waterfalls.

Aquila nodded in agreement and began swimming as quickly as possible toward the nearest shore. Occasionally looking back to make sure the rapids were still distant enough, he finally hopped onto dry land. He turned back to the river, waiting for Aylin to reach him so he could help her up if needed.

Aylin was unfortunately a bit closer to the rapids then she would have liked. However it was nothing the vixen couldn't handle. Finally getting to a bit more calmer water she slowly made her way back to the shore. As she was finally able to emerge from the water she lightly rested in the shallows. "well that was a bit of excitement and exercise I could have avoided" Aylin stated shaking some of the excess water off of her.

"Wasn't thrilling enough, in my opinion," Aquila joked, taking a step back to avoid the water she was shaking off of herself. "But I guess it's better we remain safe than anything else. I suggest our next adventure be an entanglement with a mountain lion. Those are much easier to get away from than rapids." He nodded, a mock-serious look on his face.

Aylin chuckled a bit at his response and shook her head. Sure she knew he was joking but she just couldn't pass up pointing a flaw in that made up plan. "I wouldnt be so sure. If you piss of a mountain lion enough to attack they are rather hard to get them to stop. might be safer to battle another batch of rapids." Aylin pointed out in a teasing tone. She turned her head away for a second to frown and wondered why she was acting so open. Ah well it was a thought to pick up at another time.

Aquila noticed Aylin's frown as she glanced away, but didn't exactly want to push her into telling him anything. He pretended not to notice, and continued to play along with their little plan. He looked as if he was seriously weighing the pros and cons of both Mountain Lions and rapids. "Well," he began agian, "Mountain Lions aren't too difficult to get away from, as long as we can trick them into a batch of rapids before they catch us."

Aylin though about the plan and how one may execute it even though she knew it was a joke as well. "ah but tricking cats into water is harder than it looks. I guess you could piss them off enough they followed you in but then again that wouldnt work because after all you would be in the rapids as well. Then of course mountain lions are slightly bigger than us and have longer legs so you would have to out run them too."
