are there any cheaper software for computer graphics? are there, like student discounts or anything? i do not have too much to spare....as most of it goes to college, England, and art supplies....well i guess i have to eat and clothe myself too....

Adobe does in fact offer student discounts for the educational versions of their software. So do many other companies. You can also try buying older versions off eBay or Amazon.com which are usually as good as the current edition but don't have as many bells and whistles.

Alright. I think I have an uncatagorized question for you that I'm pretty sure hasn't been asked before.

When dealing with shops, is there a limit to what theme they could have and what they could sell? Of course, I'm aware that all Gaia TOS and Guild rules apply, but I didn't see anything about shops such as for Pets. So, I guess what I'm asking is. Can I make a pet shop?

Sure. I don't have a problem with it.

Since this is a very relevent question, and one that I'm sure other people in the minishops forum have wondered, I'll also post this question there. Thanks for brining this up so that it could be addressed. 3nodding

I'm wondering something and I haven't been able to find an answer to this anywhere in this guild.

If I'd want to display one of the pictures that I've colored in photoshop for critique on the coloration work only, do i still need the lineartist permission to do so when claiming no rights on the line art what so ever for myself??
or is it simply just not allowed to do such a thing without the lineartists specific permission?

the main reason to why I wonder this is because I have a (bad?) habit of collecting lineart (for my own practice and private use) that I find on the internet.. and on some pictures I have simply forgotten who it was who did it to begin with so don't know who to give the credit even if I want to ^^;;

I don't have a problem with it, so long as you let people know that you didn't do the lineart, that you can't remember who the artist was, and that you are only wanting critique on your color work. 3nodding

Maybe even say it in big bold letters. lol

I have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer to...perhaps it is because I have not looked well enough. Anyway, my question is whether or not avatar art is considered fanart or just our own personal art. I'm not talking about avatar edits but actual drawing that just have things such as a person's avatars items to make them identifiable. Or if we are even allowed to post such art in this quild? I apologize if this is a completely ridiculous question.

I, also, have an uncategorized question (I think. I probably just wasn't looking hard enough.). If you draw a picture of a fan character for a show/anime/manga, would it go under fanart?

Why can't I seem to get anywhere? I can now draw heads: Side, 3/4, and front. I just have trouble drawing the body.

I looked in deviantart, it is extremely helpful but so much to choose from. A lot of the stuff seems complicated. I also see that some bodies used perspective. Real life pictures help me a lot as well.

Copying is okay right? I have tons of references which are helpful.

The thing is, I find the Dragonball styles easier to use as reference.

Any advice as to what to use as references?
