 Violet shook her head, dragging a few locks of hair from her view and behind her right ear, "None to my knowledge. My mother would know, but she died some time ago. However my father always told me, i'd know what to look for when something dark approaches." She turned the orb and observed the necklace closely, "These symbols on the side of the ring are curious, but i'm not sure what they mean." She finished, holding the orb up to the light to see more clearly.

 Jack watched, fascinated. He wished he could help with the meaning, but no. When he heard about Violet's mother he frowned a little. " Oh, I'm sorry." he said. He thought for a second, then grabbed his laptop from the table. " I could search it?" He suggested. Typing 'does my necklace contain dark magic' into a search engine. ((The laptop just happens to be there ^^))

Violet smiled, "It's okay. She gav her life to save mine, and I know she's in a better place now." She said, notwanting to see any sadness anymore. As Jack reached for the laptop and typed in what he did, Violet giggled, "There's always that option, yes. Haha."

Jack nodded, chuckling. He searched for a while, clicking ,typing, his hands moving over the keyboard quickly. After a while he found a website about dark magic. "Aha," He announced. "Everything's on the internet." He scrolled down in scanning for information, it didn't say if the necklace had dark magic, it just said, in the most confusing way possible, how to find out if it did. Jack read it through a few times, writing down the main points. Most of the ways wouldn't be possible, but he found the most possible, for him, and wrote it all down. The list read: ~Take the item. ~ Take a pure mineral/element ~Bathe the item in light reflected from the pure material ~After 10 hours come back ~If the item and the material have an eery sort of presence or sort of black glowing it has dark magic ~If the item has not changed or it glowing slightly white it doesn't have black magic He scratched his head, " I guess we could find a pure material. I think I have some zinc." ((Tried to add the list to Wikipedia... it failed, they deleted it))

Violet heard Jack and read silently the list of instructions to herself. She scratched her head slightly confused as to why something like this would be on the internet in the first place, but just smiled, happy that there was at least a way to tell, "Okay, I guess we'll try it then." She said.(( Wikipedia and my brain suck today. I'm having writers block. ))

Jack grinned, " Everything's on the internet." He stood up, rustling through a cupboard near by. He took out some Zinc, placing it by the necklace, in a small beam of light. The light shone off the zinc and reflected onto the necklace. For a while, Jack just stared, so far nothing was happening. Then the necklace glowed... White. Jack breathed a sigh of relief, " Now you can wear it," he said, carefully picking up the necklace, gasping as it shone a little brighter. He handed it to Violet, unsure, would it stop glowing?

Violet took the necklace from Jack and smiled. She draped it over her own necklace, and watched to see what happened. Nothing did happen, so she assumed it was safe for the time being, "Thank you." She said.

Smiling warmly, Jack looked at the necklace, shining on the skin of Violet. "Beautiful," he said, kindly. He wasn't sure himself if he meant the girl that stood before him, or the necklace he had just given to her.
