Leo shook his head. "I don't think you will. The tribe only seems to get touchy when strangers are near Home Tree. Not to say they wouldn't challenge you if they spotted you wandered about," he amended, "but if I'm with you it should be fine."
They should be close now. Leo sniffed at the air, and was rewarded with the scent of water. "Smell that? We're close."

"Good thing you found me first than cause I was heading for the home tree thing."Aegel said with a face like this sweatdrop . She rubbed against him again and gave him a slight push. "Yes i can smell it. It smells very clean."She liked the idea of a clean lake. Everything seemed polluted or icky. Nothing was truly clean for some reason. She observed the area more taking it everything. The place was so very green but it and very bright vibrant neon colored flowers. That just kind of popped out of everything. "This place is breath taking"She told him.

Leo wasn't terribly worried about what wouuld have happened if Aegle had managed to get to Home Tree. She was a female, alone, with a BCR. That alone would define her as a nonthreat. Once she explained why she was there then tribe members would even have been able to help find him.
That Aegle had found him so quickly, albiet unintentionally, left a small suspicion forming in his head.
Aegle's remarks about his home left Leo smiling. "It is, isn't it? One of the main reasons I chose to live here."
The sound of the river reached his ears just a few moments before it came into view. Leo couldn't keep a smile from his face; this was one of his favorite places. Here the waters were fairly deep, well over ten feet in some places, yet was crytal clear no matter how far down it went. Rocks of various hews studded the bottom; at night they turned luminescent, making the water shine.
Leo stopped at the edge of the river, turning to look at Aegle for her reaction.

Aegle stopped next to Leo and looked out over the lake. She had never seen one that looked like this one. It was crystal clear. "It amazing."She told him with excitement in her voice. She moved closer to the edge and looked down.

Leo slipped into the water, diving down. The tree-climbing fox wasn't a graceful or efficent swimmer, but he had been learning how to improve his technique bit by bit. Going under was new for him; it required streaming just enough air from his nose to keep the water out, but not so much that he would deplete his air supply.
The shock of the cool water vanished quick as he moved around, lime green fur swaying around him. Truly, the rivers were beautiful!
Feeling his lungs make a request for fresh air, Leo paddled up to the surface. His head broke through the water and he gulped in a big lungful of clean air. He grinned over at Aegle.

Aegle laughed at him. "Gulp gulp little fishy?" she asked making the joke that he was a fish. She moved back a couple paces than charged to the waters edge jumping in.
She hit the water semi-hard. The force and how cold it was kind of knocked the wind out of her. She let her-self sink some and opened her eyes.
She could see Leo trading water. She could also see the different color rocks that were at the bottom. She held her breath not letting to much air escape her as she headed further down to the rocks. Hoping she could get 3 of them and have them as gifts for her kids.

Leo watched Aegle through the water. Even though he could see her, depth perception was off. It looked like she was going for the bottom. The water was ten feet deep here, so that would require actual swimming skills. Leo had only recently learned how to touch bottom six feet down, so this was out of his league.

She made it to the bottom but her lungs where screaming for air. She quickly grabbed three stones with out looking. Pushing off the bottom she quickly made her way to the surface. Knowing if she didnt get air soon she was in trouble.

Leo had dived under the water about two feet. He carefully grabbed Aegle's scruff and paddled towards the surface, adding speed to her ascent. He was sure his mate would have made it on her own, but he couldn't help being worried; it was deep water.
He looked curiously at the three brightly-colored stones his mate had in her jaw. "What are those for?"

Aegle carefully spit water out still holding the rocks in her mouth. She nuzzled Leo her thanks. She would have said it but she didnt want to drop the rocks. So she nodded towards shore and started to swim that way. When she made it she carefully but the stones down and smiled at Leo. "Thank you honey. As for the stones they are for the kids. They each get their own special stone."

Leo had followed Aegle back to the shore so he could hear her without her having to raise her voice. He stood with his legs half submerged, looking quizically at the rocks.
"I don't know how they'd do out of the water, we don't move much of nature around in Omaticaya. The rocks will lose some of their luster out of the water, I'm just not sure how quickly."

Aegle let out a dissapointed sigh and hung her head a bit. She nudge the rocks with her paw before sitting down.
"Alright I will put them back. I'm sorry."

Leo nuzzled his mate. "They will still be here when the children are all grown. Akela, at least, can come and see the rivers when she's still a kit."
He gently nudged Aegle with his nose. "I'm sure we can find something really pretty to give the little ones. There is lots of nature all around. The effects lessen outside of our lands, but the objects will still hold beauty, nonetheless."

Aegle nuzzled Leo back as she gently knocked the rocks back into the water and layed down on the rock pulling Leo with her. "Yes but I dont think the rest of your tribe would like it if i took something."

Leo rumbled his contentment, the fox version of a purr. "Depends on what it is. None of them would begrudge you some pretty land rocks." He leaned lightly against Aegle, enjoying her warmth after the cold water.
