"Force me to leave, kill me, and you'll be the one breaking him," she replied, voice quiet. With every accusation Sin made, Ara realized it could be turned around. Odi could leave her. He had a tribe that he lived for, one that might influence him to leave the outsider behind. She didn't bring it up though, she knew Sin wouldn't care if she was the one broken.

A love of travelling, a love of tribe. What they had was still so new, it would be easy for something to tip the balance and tear them apart. Even now she could see Odi's face growing more distance, and it scared her.

Ara tucked her head under Odi's chin. She breathed in her mate's scent, felt the softness of fur and the strength of muscles. She drew comfort from his presence, calming the troubles in her heart; like the surface of lake after something surfaced to cause ripples, it became smooth and peaceful.

He looked at Sin silently before looking back at his mate as Sin made his point. If she did leave him...then Sin would be entirely right. Then what would he be useful for, he'd be broken.

Finally he looked around for a moment the tension was starting to get to him. He knew what Ara said was true, all of his years he never had a weak point other then his mother. Now though he had Ara who was a giant hole in his armor.

As he felt Ara move into close to him he enjoyed the feel of her fur. He let out a quiet sigh, normally he would enjoy this but Sin had gotten into his head. He stepped away from Ara with a sad frown on his face. "Ara...not right now." He said unable to hide the pain in his voice. It was hurting knowing what Ara might be thinking.

((Hope I'm not screwing anything up by replying >.> I'll try to make it just an internal reaction.))

Ara closed her eyes, breathing in deeply through her nose. When she opened them they were blank, a flat green without their usual sparkle. She was walling off her heart, trying to repress her emotions. She refused to show how deeply Odi had cut her by pushing her away.

It was ironic, in a sense. Odi had once described those of Cruor as "a bunch of misfits no body wants". "Broken". With Odi she was happy and whole. Without him, she might have fit into Cruor quite nicely. Bitter irony indeed.

Ara heard the sadness in Odi's voice, but it could not ease the pain. Selfish as it was, all she could see was that he was willing to hurt both of them to please his tribe.

((Dang, that really upset her 0.o Kinda dumb to admit, but Ara's so bummed that I'm almost crying XD ))

Sin seemed to smile at Ara's inner pain, however he did look at Odi in a rather...concerned way, if only could believe that. It was obvious he did not care for Ara, she was not family. Ara was a liar, then again so way Odi. His eyes cast upon the two, and he stepped between Ara and Odi, snarling at the vixen. "You were the trickster. If it were not for you, do you think he would have lied to me?" It was true, he had not asked. Then again, Odi was sneaking. If Odi had merely waited until the celebration and introduced his mate or merely mentioned her he would have accepted Ara. But no, he had caught them.

"You would rather have him betray our tribe to make yourself happy." It seemed he was angrier with Ara then Odi, surprisingly.

"I've never asked that of him," Ara replied. She waited a moment, making sure her voice wouldn't tremble. "I would never make him choose between his family and me."

She sat on the ground. There was no fear in her eyes as she looked at Sin. He couldn't hurt her, only make her bleed. "Tell me then, what would you have done? Under the authority of an Elder who despises outsiders, what way is there in the beginning except a secret?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 12, 2010 3:22 pm

"That is what you have precisely done! Him sneaking to see you makes him apart from us. He is consciously choosing you over us, sneaking behind our backs. He is putting your needs before his tribes. He has chosen you over his family each time he see's you secretly."

Sin scowled at her once more. "I would have told my Elder." He snapped back, which was true. "If he had told me I would have accepted. In the end, you would be protected by us as long as you are connected to him. But, circumstances have changed, haven't they?"

He watched Ara, amused by how she seemed to be coping under his presence. He was fairly angry, furious even. The fact she had caused Odi to lie infuriated him. However, maybe there was a way to get past this. If there was, he wasn't going to let it happen easily.

((You may correct me if Ara's wrong, but I have a feeling what she says will be at least partly true >.> ))

[Ara examined Sin. Odi had told her much about him, but there were some things that one could only learn in an actual meeting. Even now she could not be certain her findings were right. It was only their first time talking together.

The most evident was that Sin was strong. Strong enough that Odi was afraid to anger him. His strength gave him confidence. He had no idea what skills Ara might have had. And, from his talk, if he truly believed Ara had taken Odi's loyalty from the tribe he had no way to know if Odi would have attacked. And pride.

Ara could tell Sin was a proud fox. Proud of his abilities, proud of his tribe. He would most likely have felt he knew everything there was to know about his tribe, that none of his underlings could keep a major secret from him. This discovery must have been a slap to the face.

"Is it us, or yourself you are angry at. Something like this, you must be upset that you only just discovered it." Her voice was quiet, with only the mildest hint of curiousity to it. She could have been talking to herself even.

((Oh dear. You delved into a deep well, my friend.))

Upset? More like outraged. His whole life had been a lie in the beginning. He had no one to turn to. No one that would love him. He had been alone for so long. At first it had hurt him, broke him, and ripped apart his heart. Then he had grown. He had stopped caring. His hurt became his strength. He had lost the pain and replaced it with fury. Fury at everyone. Families were supposed to love. Mothers were supposed to care. Fathers were supposed to protect. Siblings were supposed to share and love.

He had never had that.

He had hated everyone. Then there was him, his dear half brother. He had loved and cherished Sin, and Sin had learned to love him back. He had been his weakness. Not his cure. His weakness. The he lost him too.

And now, here was his new family, and he was it's father. It's guide. Maybe it did anger him not finding out sooner. It did not hurt, hurt was something impossible for him to feel in his current state of mind. But maybe the fact he had not noticed angered, and not just the betrayal. Sin merely snarled at Ara. She was seriously stepping on grounds he did not want her stepping on. Maybe he would have to break her paw to make her step back.

Odi listened to the two silently from his position torn apart by the things they said. The Sin Odi wanted to just end this and do damage control, scare Ara off at the worst. Then the Ara Odi wanted to just dig into Sin make him go away. In reality he was just sitting their watching the two fire back at each other.

The very idea that Sin would attack Ara made him fear for the worst. Finally he thought over what to do, he had to think quick or else this could end badly.

"Sin...how can we redeem ourselves." He said stepping in front of Ara and gave her a quick look, this wasn't going to end like she may want it. It would be best to appease him then rather incur his wrath.

From the way Sin snarled at her, Ara knew she was right. She also knew she had unintentionally hit a nerve, a major one. It probably would have been begging the question to ask if Sin had control issues as well as pride ones.

When Odi stepped between her and his Elder with the request for them to redeem themselves, the slightest stirrings of hope started in her heart. Sin could blame her all he wanted, but Odi had always been the one to chose for this to happen.

She had no tribe to worry about if she accepted a mate elsewhere. It had been up to Odi to decide if he wanted love, friendship, or nothing to do with the scarlet female; Ara followed his lead. He had been the first to say love, the first to use the word "mate". Like it or not, Odi was the one running this show.

Sin watched the two, sitting on his haunches. Redeem? Oh how he wanted to tell Odi to rip this vixens throat out. To leave her here to die. He hated her. In due time he may come to accept her, but right now his tolerance was low. However, his self control won over his fury, and he settled with a very self explanatory glare at Ara. That glare clearly stated how much he loathed her, and how much furious he was for her being involved in this sneaky game they had been playing.

He turned his head, suddenly his eyes flashed, a large cheshire cat smile spread across his face, standing and slowly circling Ara, his body curving around her as he walked. He stopped beside her, his tail touching her chin. He leaned in closer, his eyes deadly as he smirked at her.

"In the future, I suggest you tell me of your visits to her. And.. dear vixen, what I want from you is something different." He shoved her chin to the side with his thick tail, moving away from her but still sending his cruel taunting smile her way.

"I want one of your kits if you ever have kits with him."

Odi loosened up seeing Sin sit down. It was far enough away from aggression he didn't have to worry about the bloody fox jumping pass him. As he saw the glare he gave Ara he looked at his mate for a moment taking in how she was doing so far. He earlier mistake had seem to shaken her up but he ignored it.

Feeling the situation lose it's danger he backed up to her said and put his side against her. He insides were virtually ripping themselves apart to say how sorry he was for what he had done earlier in a moment of insecurity. Instead he just put his side against her saving his words for later when Sin wasn't around to cause anymore issues with him conveying his emotions.

As he heard what Sin had to say about his punishment once again he knew something was off, Sin never let things just go smoothly. The first time he meet him he learned that lesson when they first meet. "I understand Sin."

Maybe he could even say he was one of Sin's favorite or just a fox Sin thought wasn't worth losing or damaging...at least not damaged enough to fix.

As he watched Sin hit her with his tail he frowned and hearing his demand his eyes went into a glare but he didn't say anything. This was up to Ara, if she didn't want to he would deal with Sin...and the whole tribe if it came that far. He looked at his mate with a slight frown as he waited for her reaction.

At this rate he was wondering if Ara might just one day say she wants to join the tribe. He might not like it but if she wanted. He have something else to protect, worst part he still had his promise about that BCR he was thinking about keeping.

Ara didn't really react to Sin's form of intimidation; there was just too relief when Odi returned to lean against her.

The condition set by Sin didn't faze her as much as he seemed to think it should have. Her shrug was a light one. "I always intended for one kit to be raised by his father, though I would like all of them to know both their parents."

Her green eyes were calculating as they looked over Sin now. She didn't voice her condition, not now, because there was no need for it yet. The only thing she wanted for the kit who was destined to be raised in Cruor was a free will. If he or she chose to stay with the tribe or leave, she wanted them to be able to do that. Ara just wasn't sure if the black and red fox could let go of one who wanted to be free.

Odi was not Sin's favorite, he only had two foxes that could be called that, and Odi was not one. However for now the fox was invaluable, and part of his tribe. Ara on the other hand was not safe from him. If Odi turned his back at the wrong moment he would rip the vixens throat out. In due time he would most likely grow to accept her in the Cruor family, but right now he would like nothing more than to remove her permanently. He smiled once more at Ara, as if he had something more on his mind.

He did.

Another condition silently raised in his mind, but he did not voice it just yet. Instead, he moved to Ara, smirking. Finally, he spoke. "Also, if your paw even slightly touches our border you will be faced with a decision. Join us, or your heart will stand still in that ugly chest of yours. Trust me, the Shade Beast will arrange this if I ask. He doesn't like trespassers much." Which meant visiting of the future kit would be limited to a member of the tribe bringing the kit to her if she was not a part of them. He turned to Odi, scanning the male with a seemingly judging appearance. He would have a punishment for Odi. Most likely being sent to the Silence Tree for a few days.

His gold eyes stayed silently on Sin as he waited for the fox to speak. Odi knew the dangerous of dealing with Sin but he was still worried about Ara. As he looked form Sin to Ara he frowned at the what if factor. If they extended their territory Ara might not know and then...he was fast but the scout could fly and Sin was usually prowling the land anyway.

As he saw Sin looking at him the malice in his eyes switched and to something else. Odi hadn't been fully acquainted to the Silence Tree. He had passed it before but never thought anything of it nor the rules.
