"Oh,no,there's.nothing.wrong.with.the.pants.at.all!" she stammered, breaking her internal thought process. Bleez whimpered a bit, trying to think how she'd word this next bit and if she should even ask. But if she didn't ask, she'd more likely be bothered by the question the entire shopping trip. She looked at the floor like the answer would be found written on the linoleum.
"I... er..." she started, slowly of all things. She made the whimpering sound again. The Wrath spawn looked up at Llujah, her face contorted as much as her feelings were right now. Twisting her tail around on itself, like someone wringing their hands together, she managed to blurt out, "There's.this.boy.I.really.like.but.I'm.afraid.he.doesn't.like.me.because.I.look.too.much.like.a.boy. And.I.can't.just.ask.him.if.he.likes.me.like.I.like.him.cuz.that.would.just.be.too.embarrassing! But.I.want.him.to.like.me.like.I.like.him! Am.I.enough.of.a.girl? Or.do.I.need.to.wear.skirts.and.dresses.even.though.I.don't.like.them.cuz.I.can't.run.in.them! What.if.he.just.sees.me.as.'one.of.the.guys!'" Her words were so quick it was a wonder if anyone could understand them.

Llujah was very surprised at how fast Bleez was talking. He could hardly keep up with her. He did manage to catch the key point of what she was saying, and he chuckled a bit. "So that's it, huh? Well, that's pretty heavy, but you can work around it!"
Llu sat down on a nearby bench and crossed his legs, smiling. "You don't need to wear dresses and skirts or nothing to be a girl. There are plenty of girls I've seen who never wear skirts, and they're still really pretty! You could try a couple of pairs of loose fitting jeans. They aren't too hard to move around in, but they tear easily, so you'll have to be a bit careful when running." He put his chin in his hand, thinking.
"If you're afraid that he thinks that you're just 'one of the guys,' ask him about it." He smiled. "You don't have to be afraid to ask him that. If he's really a good friend, he'll answer you truthfully and still pal around with you. After all, that's what friends are for!" Llu stood up and stretched his arms above his head. He looked at Bleez. "As for wanting to know how he feels about you, don't worry about that. Just focus on having fun with him and the rest of your friends. When he's ready, he'll tell you." He grinned and chuckled, flicking his tail. "Does that all make sense?"

"Yes," Bleez felt a little foolish for not thinking about it that way. She was glad to get that all off her chest, though. It felt like a big weight had been lifted and now she could actually enjoy herself.
She lifted the pair of shorts back off the rack. They seemed a little short, but she supposed that was the fashion now. "So,you.think.these.would.like.good.one.me?" she was trying to get the conversation back on track now that her fears could be set aside (for the time being). "I'm.not.gonna.lie,when.it.comes.to.fashion.sense,I.have.none. My.mum.usually.makes.my.clothes." She motioned to her tattered rags again. "But.we.had.one.of.our.usual.fights,so.she.kind.threw.me.out.until.we.both.cool.off." Bleez twitched and sighed, remembering that little altercation from earlier.
Then she got an idea, "If.I.gave.you.free.reign.on.what.I.should.wear,do.ya.think.you.can.pick.out.something.that'll.make.me.look... cute." The last word was nearly whispered to Llu.

Llujah's eyes lit up like Christmas and he clasped his hands together in delight. "Nothing would make me happier," he exclaimed. His wings fluttered in his joy and he bounced on his toes, looking around. "We'll have to find some tops to go with that pair of shorts, and some new shoes would help, too." He looked around the store frantically, then looked back to Bleez. "You go try the shorts on and I'll see if there are any tank tops that would go with them." With that, he set off in a run through the store.
Llu found himself in a small section of the store they were in which held several sporty tops and jackets. He perused the racks until he had found a tank top that was a similar color to the flames on the shorts and a light-weight black jacket to go with it. He rushed back over to Bleez and handed the items to her. "Try these ones on, too. I think they'll look splendid on you!" It took a will of steel for Llu to ultimately contain his excitement.

Bleez was surprised, but overall very happy at Llu's reaction. She'd thought that it might've been a bother, but his happiness proved otherwise. This, in turn, made her happy.
Shoes? She internally cringed at the thought. She'd never worn shoes or even socks feet before. She couldn't imagine how they'd feel. The thought of having something covering her feet and restricting their movement didn't exactly appeal to her. But on the other hand, it might be good to wear shoes. Her feet wouldn't get scraped up as much.
Bleez made her way to the fitting rooms and was just about to go in when Llu began handing her tops. She thanked him and entered the little closet-sized room. Stripping, she noted just HOW tore up her pants were. It was surprising that they were able to to stay on her at all. "Eesh," she noted out loud as the sorry state of them. She quickly pulled the shorts on... man, they weren't joking when they said shorts! They felt more like underwear than shorts! Bleez looked in the mirror, feeling very awkward in the short running shorts. Was it really fashionable to have as much skin showing as possible?
She pulled the tank over her head next, careful not to snag the shirt on her horns. This was something that was actually normal for her, she had to do it every morning. The tank seemed a little short too. She'd thought it was too small for her at first, except that it fit her perfectly around. It was showing her bellybutton, though.
Then the jacket was thrown on. She modeled herself in front of the mirror. She didn't look half bad. "Ope," Bleez pulled her hat off and threw it on top of her clothes. There, much better.
Timidly, she stepped out of the changing room and clasp her hands nervously behind her back, waiting for Llu's judgment of the ensemble.

Llujah waited impatiently for Bleez to come out of the dressing room. He hoped that he had picked some good clothes for her and that they would fit well. He was unaware of her size, so that may come as a bit of a problem on the road ahead, but they would cross that bridge when they came to it. As Llu waited, he kept himself occupied by fiddling with the halo on his right ankle, spinning it around his foot and watching it orbit. Finally, after what seemed like eternity, Bleez stepped out of the dressing room. Llu stood, looking her over. A moment passed before he clasped his hands together once more and practically squealed in delight.
"You look so cute!"
He bounded over to Bleez and walked around her, inspecting the clothes from all angles, talking as he went. "You look simply adorable, but it seems that the clothes are a little tight on you. I'll have to see if I can find any that are in a slightly larger size." He stood in front of Bleez, a grin on his face and arms akimbo. "Believe me, you look precious. It's the clothes that are the problem. You wait here and look for some shoes that you might like, and I'll see if I can't find anything in a larger size." With that, Llu ran off once more through the store. He was on an epic quest.

Cute? Adorable? Precious? These were not words she'd heard when describing herself. She kinda, actually liked the sound of it. She smiled as Llu scurried off to find more appropriate sizes. Good, she thought, these were actually too short and it wasn't her imagination.
Shoes. The mere thought sent a little shudder up her spine. How would she feel having her feet all cooped up? With a quiet sigh, she returned to the fitting rooms, changing back into her clothes quickly and hanging the ones she'd tried on on the return rack. Then she headed over to the shoes section.
"HOLY!" she mouthed. There were so many to choose from! Men's, women's kids, soccer shoes, baseball cleats, skates, rock climbing shoes, etc. Where did she ever start? Running. The word caught her attention as soon as she saw it among the massive wall of shoes. There. Perfect.
She wandered over, looking at all the shoes they had, not knowing which ones were for men and which ones were for women. Maybe she should wait for Llu to get back? Who knew shopping was so hard?!

Llujah bounded off in delight. Bleez looked so cute with those clothes on! The problem was the size... He scurried back to where he had found the shorts and searched the racks for another pair in a larger size. When he finally found one, he quickly snagged it and made his way to the section where he had found the tank top and the jacket. He found two similar ones with ease. After retrieving those items as well, he looked around the store, trying to find Bleez. He found her in the shoes section.
Llu finally caught up to her and handed her the larger clothes. "Here! I was able to find the shorts and the jacket in a larger size, but I couldn't with the tank top, so I found one that was close enough in color to it." He smiled and looked about the shoes section. Many different kinds of athletic shoes were on display, and Llu could pick out several that could compliment Bleez's new outfit greatly. Of course, since these were shoes they were talking about, comfort was the main necessity. He looked to his friend and smiled. "Are you finding any shoes that you might want?"

She accepted the new clothe sizes without hesitation, but when it came to shoes, she was at a loss. "Um.." Bleez looked from the shoewall to her new friend, confusion evident on her face. "I.have.no.idea." She laughed, a little embarrassed. "I'll.be.honest,I've.never.worn.shoes.before."

Llujah's dual-colored eyes widened and he looked down at Bleez's feet. They were dirtied and callused... Has she really never worn shoes before?! It seemed highly possible. Llu frowned and put a hand on his hip in though. "Well, geez. That's a bit of a conundrum, isn't it?" He took a glance at the wall of shoes behind his friend, then smiled awkwardly at her. "Socks would probably be out of the question, too..." He flicked his tail, then grinned, determination in eyes. "Don't worry! We'll find something for you, I promise!"
Immediately, Llu began perusing the walls for some shoes that would both fit Bleez and be comfortable for her. After looking through several pairs and several aisles, he found what he believed to be the perfect pair for his friend. They weren't precisely to his tastes, but in this case, it was about comfort, not fashion. Llu quickly returned to Bleez and handed her the box. "Here, try these one. They're supposed to be lightweight and breathable, but I'm not entirely sure if they'll work. If not, we can always go to a different store!" He giggled childishly.

Bleez's normal hand took the box as she glanced around for a place to sit. Spotting a few chairs for trying on shoes, she wandered over to them and had a seat.
Opening the box, Bleez was a little perplexed. The shoes looked normal enough, she supposed, but they didn't look like they had any strings... laces she remembered them being called. This was probably a good thing, though, as she had no idea how to tie shoes anyway.
People around her were wearing sandals and she noticed that they'd put on a little pantyhose-looking "sock" before they'd put the foot in any shoe. Was this common practice? Looking around, she noticed that anyone not wearing socks was doing, so she figured that was probably a rule or something somewhere. So where were these sock things? What was the point of them even? Shrugging and looking around her, she found a box of them. Grabbing two (one for each foot, of course), she put them on. These felt really weird. Were you supposed to wear these with all shoes? If so, she might have to pass on shoes all together!
She slipped the shoes on next and stood up, talking a couple awkward steps. It felt very weird walking in them, but what should she expect, having never worn them before?

Llujah watched as Bleez struggled with the shoe concept. He could not help giggling and he clamped a hand over his mouth, trying to be as discreet as possible. After stifling the giggles as much as he could, he smiled and sat down on his knees by Bleez. "Having troubles?" He reached into a box beside the seat Bleez had occupied and pulled out a pantyhose sock. "These are for trying on the shoes so they won't be too big or two small when you wear socks with them," he explained. "Of course, a lot of shoes don't need socks, but for these shoes, I would recommend it. You'll get horrible blisters otherwise." Llu made a face at the word "blisters." Inconvenient little monsters.
Llu scooted back as Bleez stood up and began walking about in the shoes. From Llu's vantage point, they looked to fit Bleez fairly well, but she seemed rather uncomfortable in them. Perhaps because she had never worn shoes before? Or was it because of her feet? In any case, it was Bleez's call. Llu stood up and walked over to his friend, smiling. "How do they feel?"

"Weird," she answered truthfully. Her feet had never felt so trapped before. She wasn't sure she could handle shoes. Hobbling back to the seat she spotted a much different pair of shoes on the wall.
"What're.these?" She stumbled over to the wall, kicking off the shoes as she made her way. She pointed to a pair of athletic sandals eagerly. "These!" Mostly open, had a few straps to keep the shoe on your foot, but not as binding as a regular shoe. Also, they were green, Bleez's favorite color.

Llujah rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, then, I don't really know what to tell you." He grimaced. It stood to reason that the shoes would feel weird to one who had never worn them before. His thoughts were interrupted by Bleez's eager remark. His eyes followed where she was motioning to and he chuckled.
"Huh. Those work, too. Try 'em on, if you like." He gave Bleez a confident grin. "I'm sure they'll look awesome on you!" As he spoke, he couldn't help but wonder why he didn't think of open-toe shoes in the first place. It was of little concern now. Bleez found something that she liked, and that was what mattered most.

The sandals she'd been looking at were swept off the wall and taken back to her seat. Her ignorance of shoes was pretty obvious when she'd snagged the ones off the wall. They were way too big, which was plain to see. But she didn't know any better.
Bleez put the sandal on awkwardly, there were so many straps that she fumbled with for a bit before finally getting the shoe on her foot. She held it up to show Llu, and despite her disappointment in it not fitting, she had to laugh. It looked way too pathetic not to. "I.don't.think.it.fits."
After a couple more giggles, she released her foot from the shoe and sighed a bit. "I.really.liked.the.look.of.those.shoes."
