Lonely? Runaiu knew what that felt like. She understood. Yes, she did. Very much so. To the point she sometimes withdrew and just wanted to change her ways. No, no one had ever told her she was beautiful when she was a kit, except Unia. Maybe that was why she spent so much effort on loving herself? Maybe that was why Unia had a special place in her heart, her dearest sister.
But Mercury didn't need to know that. She gave him a shocked look, scowling and shaking her head. "No. Of course not."

Mercury didn't wholly believe Rinaiu. Before she had answered he had seen a brief sadness in her eyes. He didn't press her though, it was her business.
What Mercury would have liked to do was play a game. He was still a kit after all, and this was one of the few times he had come into contact with another fox! He just wasn't sure if Runaiu would even want to play.
"What do you do to have fun?"

Fun? She didn't know. She liked to look at herself. As kits she used to play with Unia and tease little Yuki, even if Unia threw a fit and called her mean for doing so. Oh god. Was this kit looking to play with her? Why? She didn't know what he would want after asking that.
Then again, she had always wanted kits. Very much so. Maybe...she could play with him... Maybe. "I don't. There's nothing to do."

"Hmmm, I suppose you're right. It's a lot harder to play games by yourself than with someone else."
Mercury paused, thinking. There were plenty of games he could play, but he wasn't sure how up to it the finicky female might be.
"Wanna play a game with me? There's tag or hide and seek. Or finding shapes in clouds, or making pretty pictures with rocks and leaves and stuff. Or-, well I dunno, but I'm sure there's more stuff!"
Truth be told Mercury had never considered what other ways there might be to have fun. He got his entertainment chasing grasshoppers, or fish if there was a body of water where he was at. Making pictures with things on the ground or finding pictures in the clouds were also ways he passed the time.
In retrospect maybe he was used to solitary life as well. All these activies seemed better for single players. He would just have to hope Runaiu liked one of the ideas, or had a good one herself, cause he was well and truly stumped.

She looked at Mercury, and inside that selfish heart she possessed she felt pity. Poor kit, even if he didn't know the color of her fur. He didn't have a family. He was all alone. At least she was raised with two other siblings, even if her family was tense and stressed. This kit had no one as far as she knew.
"Hmm." God, he was annoyingly hyper though. But cute, for a kid. She frowned at him, sighing. "Yeah yeah, fine. I'll play hide and seek with you."

Mercury nodded with a happy expression. "Do you wanna hide or seek first?" Truthfully he had never played with another fox before, so it would be a new experience. He was already running through his head about possible hiding places when a thought occured to him.
"Should we make the meadow the playing field, so we aren't getting lost in the forest?"

"Meadow." She answered. If the kit got lost in the forest she wouldn't be able to find him very well, and she wasn't going to mess her fur up for some kid. Or would she? Whatever. Anyway, the meadow was just much safer, for both of them.
"You hide first, it seems more fun for you." She answered his first question finally. This kit needed some playtime with someone. If no one else was going to do it, then she would.

((Honestly, no clue. Friendship if possible. Though Runaiu's tolerance of him might lessen when Mercury becomes and adult lol))
He nodded. "Alright then! You count, I'll hide." Mercury turned and bounded off into the grass. Even with the rainbow swirls his black run blended surprisingly well when he moved close to the ground.

"Wha?" She was surprised by his energy, frowning. She had never been like that as a kit. She sighed, heading to a tree and sitting down before it, raising her long tail to cover her eyes.
"Hey, runt! What do I count to?" She had never played this game before, and was unsure of the rules. Was she allowed to ask him things?

"Twenty should be good," came the kit voice from the grass several yards away. Mercury was almost done hiding, actually. He'd found a dried clump of grass that was probably once a nest. Wouldn't take long to shred, and would be great camoflauge!

Runaiu began to count, sighing at every odd number. She had never thought she would be running around with a kit. But he was friendly and reminded her of herself as a kit. Maybe she could take him with her on her travels? No! That was ridiculous. He was a kit! Not meant for traveling.
"Twenty." She finally said, turning to try and find the kit, surprised that she could not see either hind nor tail of him.

Mercury was curled up as tightly as he could manage under his grass cover. He was absoluetly focused on being still and quiet. Now it was just a waiting game to see how long it took Runaiu to find him. Or until his patience gave out, but he was fairly patient for a kit.
((Hmmm, how do you want to go about finding him? Roll a die, random number, or just find him after two or three posts?))

She was searching by the water, and failing. Oh god, why has she agreed to this stupid game?! He was far to tiny for this ridiculous game of his. She hated losing, and she was not going to fail. She was an impatient little thing.

The tinest of snorts broke through Mercury's self-control. Rainbow fluff? He wasn't that covered in rainbows! Was he? The temptation to turn his head and look was strong, but he managed to fight it and keep his muscles locked in place.

She titled her head, hearing the smallest of giggles. The blue/gray fox padded towards where she heard it, scowling when she still couldn't find him. She had a better idea, using her tail to sweep the area. "Runt, I heard you laugh." She called out, frowning as a smile wanted to break through. No way was that rainbow runt going to get her to smile.
