Be my sunshine, be my star xxxxxxxxxx Be my romance, be my heart xxxxxxxxxx Be my flashlight, light my darkℭarℴℓinℯ ℳadisℴn ℋaℯℓℓxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ҏℓℯasℯ. ℒℯt's ℬℯ ℛℯaℓistic. It had been a long day. Work had been chaotic but it wasn't enough to stress Caroline out. She was a pretty well organized girl and got used to the job rather quickly. It felt as though she had been working there for ages though that was hardly the case. It wasn't necessarily that she enjoyed the job as much as she did the people that worked there. Jeremy had had her heart for some time and she couldn't help but enjoy the time she spent with him. The longer she was with him, the quicker the day went by, but she wasn't exactly happy with that. The times they shared sure were something. She tried to be exciting but didn't have to work very hard to get his attention. The sad catch, she just couldn't accept someone actually loved her. The long romancing had been something she expected, it was common for couples to like each other the first couple of weeks, it was the months after she began to doubt though. Everyday she was just waiting for him to tell her they were through, but it never happened. It made her guilty, especially when his friend began to flirt with her. He didn't get jealous though, that nerved her. In the beginning that frustration with not showing her any hate had caused her to flirt back but she never that his friend would grow on her, but he did. Now she just kind of liked him.
As she restocked the inventory she glanced out, searching for the playboy she just could seem to stray her thoughts from. Sure, Jeremy was wonderful, but he was so passive. She had began to swoon for Jamie and despite her better senses, she had started liking them. But to be realistic, there was hardly anyone who didn't like the bad boy type. The only one she happened to see was that girl, Laura. She was pretty much the newest addition to the group. She was the only other blond aside from James. Again, her thoughts wandered to him before she snapped back to reality and realized where she was going. It wasn't uncommon for Caroline to get a little swept up in her work. It was a dreamy place, lights and romance, aside from the odd smells and crowds of strange people that flooded in, it was truly a magical place.
She had slipped from the station she worked by, the one that a kid had happened to choose to steal from. Caroline had been left to check the stock to make sure everything was still there, to say the least, there were a lot of numbers. He hadn't stolen too much and she didn't take it personally since someone had found him. She might have gotten a little aggravated if she had to pay from her pocket. Now she was making her way to the break room. A quick stop on the way was left to the bar, unattended by Manny to her pleasure. She fit in a few flirts before she managed to get the guy working to fill up a large lemonade container with some hard liquor. A few jokes were made and then she left with an 'I owe you one' before she started to nurse the drink and entered. She took a seat in the back and looked to Manny as well as every other person in his little audience. She hadn't missed any of his speech, she was always there just on time, or as close as someone like her could cut it.

My life is like a roller coaster. I can't stay up, but I can't keep down and when you know you expect it, and yet it still comes as a surprise, I find myself going in loops. It takes my breath away, and yet I can't help but say, 'Let's go again'.

A smile spread across Alex's face as she finished putting the last dollar bill in the cash register. The teenager glanced around and slid her apron off. There were advantages to working at one of the snack stands, like sneaking snacks every now and then. Not that Alexandra did that a lot, only when she was really hungry and when no one was looking of course. Alex waved goodbye to her other co-worker and dashed out of the snack stand. The teenager grabbed her guitar case and swung it onto her back. She looked at the sky, the sun setting in the distance, and smiled. Alex always liked watching the sun set or rise, it gave her inspiration for songs and it also took her mind off of the drama in her life. She really wanted to just sit on a bench, take out her guitar, and play, but she knew her other co-workers would be expecting her at the bar and she could use a drink. Alex knew that she wasn't old enough to drink, but she always got away with it. Besides, it wasn't like she got drunk or did it every night, no, she had one drink once and awhile. One drink wouldn't kill her, right?
Alex felt the breeze push her brown hair back and she lifted her head to look at the sky. Letting out a sigh, she closed her brown eyes and took a deep breath. All the sounds of the carnival seemed to fade away as the girl was absorbed in her thoughts. When she was alone, everything felt so peaceful and right. Before, being around poeple was okay too, but then things got complicated. Alexandra had been very busy with her dreams of being a musician. She spent as much time as she could writing songs, playing guitar, and singing. She never had time to even consider having a boyfriend. In fact, she didn't really care if she had a boyfriend or not. She had watched other poeple at school go into relationships and then get heartbroken only weeks later. That or their boyfriend cheated on them or the girlfriend did something bad because the "spark" was gone. Alex didn't need, or want, that kind of drama in her life. All she wanted to do was to get her music career up and running. Although her friend, Caroline, seemed to disagree with her. She kept nagging her about not having a summer romance and that she should hook up with one of the guys in their group. She also kept mentioning one of the guys... um, Erick. Yeah that was his name. Anyways, Caroline kept telling her that she should try to get together with Erick. Alex had no idea why, but she had to admit that Erick was pretty cute. At the same time, though, Alex wanted to work on her music and make a few extra tips. Maybe she could ask Manny if she could do a few shows at the carnival for tips or maybe she could have Isaac get her into the music industry. That would mean using the boy and Alex wasn't sure she could do that. She had never used anyone in her entire life. Maybe it wasn't even worth it, maybe she should just forget about using Isaac.
The teenager was awoken from her thoughts as she heard a large group of poeple coming her way. She better get to the Casino Lounge in case Manny wanted to make one of his big speeches. Alex pushed her hair out of her face and then began to sprint toward the Casino Lounge. She felt her guitar move across her back but she made sure it didn't slid off. Before heading into the lounge, she slid into the bar and walked in calmly. Luckily, the guy working at the bar had gone into the back room and Alex didn't feel like waiting. instead,s eh hopped the counter and got herself a small drink, nothing strong just an average drink. She drank it and then headed toward the lounge. Alexandra slid into the lounge just as Manny started his speech. She sat down on a chair and placed her guitar case on the floor. She crossed her arms and listened to the speech. Once Manny had finished his speech, Alex leaned over and opened her guitar case. She pulled out her guitar and brushed some of the dust off. She had had her guitar since she was ten, when her parents got her it for her birthday. Alex had been taking guitar lessons since she was five and had loved it since the first lesson.
Alexandra placed her fingers on the strings and began to strum. At first, it was only random notes, but after a minute or so, the notes had formed a soft, gentle melody. Alex continued adding notes and smiled to herself. She didn't care if the others were listening, she just wanted to play. She continued to play until she paused once she had made the melody solid and gentle. She pulled out her notebook, her pencil, and began to write down the notes she had played so far. The teenager then put her pencil down and went back to playing. Playing the guitar always relaxed her and she loved playing and writing songs. Her songs always started with random notes that then formed a song. The tempo of the song always depended on her mood at the times. If she was mad, the melody would be strong, hard, and possibly a little harsh, but if she was calm the melody would be the same. Once she wrote down all the notes of the song, she sat down, played the song a few times and then wrote down possible lyrics. Sometimes she wrote down dozens of possible lyrics before singing the possible lyrics along with the song. Whatever one fit the song best, was chosen to be added to the song. Then the song was named, and put away with the rest of eh songs. The process would start all over after that. Sometimes Alex got two or three songs a week, but other times she only got one or two songs a month. Sometimes Alex just played, or sang, for the fun or it. It relaxed her and she loved doing it.☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷ ☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷

Bad happenings occurred everywhere and to everyone, that was fine and all, but when the breeze was flying through her wavy, auburn locks and the sun was shining heat on her cold, pale skin she expected nothing more then a fantastic day. But get real. This is Remember Wisteria Walker and her life that has been nothing but spiraling down on a fast roller coaster with no up in sight. She knew the time would come but she never had felt that it would be when things were going so well. Jamie had broken up with her about a week and a half ago, but that wasn't the peak of it, he was going after her best friend! Could the guy really be so low? But still, Wisty couldn't look at him with his smile and be angry. His hair shone like the sun, and that was what he was to her. Her own personal sun, and the fact of the matter is, she was having a terrible time letting go of that light. When she first met James Pryde she had a feeling he was going to flip her life upside down, but she hadn't realized to how much of an extent she was to be right. Now, she was a practical young adult. Anyone who could stay with someone more then two weeks but less then a month was most definitely trouble. Everything about him radiated that word: Trouble. With a capital T, and yet she still let herself fall for his golden hair, genuine appearing eyes, and deep brown eyes that seemed to promise so much. Yeah, well, promises promises. Though she loved him, Remember wouldn't let herself see past the next week. Her thoughts were always filled with 'what if's' and she almost always questioned his word when he was going out somewhere. Of course, she would never let him know this, that would have only drove him away faster. But it was all to vain anyway. She was a little proud of something, however. She was the first one to make it past a month. Actually, she made it to three. Wisteria always cracked a smile when she thought of that.
As she thought of the fact that she kept his heart for that long, an adorable little boy walked up with an all-day wrist band, looking to go on the ride she stood guard of. Remember was the attendant that admittend people onto the best ride in the carnival, well at least to her. The ride was The Extreme. A multi-coloured, sixteen seater that spun counter clockwise while swinging people two hundred and seventy degrees. Not quite upside down, but it was damn close. And while the ride was in motion it blasted loud music that the attendant, Remember, got to choose. At the moment it was playing her favourite songs from her playlist and the current song was Fed Up by the AM Taxi's. Well, just as soon as she was done checking if the boy was tall enough to go on, because you had to be fifty-three inches to ride, she let him walk through and began checking the other people in line. "Oh dear..." Gasping as she turned to see how may people were on the ride and watched the little boy not lift his foot up high enough over a step and fall on the hot metal. Rushing over to help the kid up, she flagged down the mechanic she would talk with sometimes at lunch, telling him that he would need to take over her spot for a little bit while she tried to find the kids parents and tended to his scruffed up knees. There was a first aid kit in the back, which she helped him lip to. "My name is Remember Wisteria Walker, I've been certified in first aid and safty, will you let me help you, sweetie?" she asked in a gentle tone as he nodded through tears. Getting out peroxide, a cotton swab and a tissue, she handed him the tissue and asked him to put his hand on her arm. "Now if this hurts I want you to squeeze my arm. Do you know where your parents are? Who are you here with?" His hand tighted on her arm as she dabbed at his bloody knee. The metal he fell on had ridges for traction when you walk on them, and he did a number falling on those. Plus it was quite a hot day and that metal just withheld the heat so he did have a little burn, too. The boy had three nails of his five fingers digging into her skin, but he didn't look over eleven, she knew the damage wouldn't even be a bruise. "Alright honey. Well, I'm on break now," she said as she looked over at her stand in, the mechanic went back to his position behind the ride, yep, time to report into the casino. Manny could wait though. "How about you take me to where you said your aunt and uncle were." Apparently the little boys aunt and uncle were in from out of state and his parents had to work, so instead of just sitting at home with two brothers and a sister who picked on him constantly, the relatives took him out to a carnival. Reminded her of her own family actually, except swap the brothers and sisters with cousins and friends; Remember was an only child.
After returning the boy to his guardians the redhead made her way to the casino tent where a few people had already gathered, smiling at two of her friends; Isaac and Laura. "Hey yall, sorry about that. Little mishap with a kid." Cracking a grin when she noticed Manny tense up. "He fell on the metal and scrapped his leg." With a little shrug and a flash of a smile, she wanted her boss's face relax as he passed her a rasberry lemonade. "So how's everyones day been?"

It wasn't that her music wasn't good and fun to listen to, it was just that it wasn't his preferred style. His green eyes looked Remember over, not believing how such a pretty and smart girl, was still stuck on Jamie. Honestly, the guy had some looks, but he probably slept with over half the women in town, not to mention, bad boy or not, he was aggravating! "Just dandy, as per usual. Some kid puked in front of the games stand where I was, but I got out of cleaning it up. No where near as interesting as you saving a kid from a scrapped, burnt, aching flesh wound. Such a hero! Excited for the annual firework show?" Slipping his cell away into his uniform pocket, Isaac gave the redhead his usual smile, before going back to his drink. The brunette was no longer slouching, but leaning on the counter with his back.
The casino was filling up, and the workers were spreading out. Alex was still busy as ever basking in the spotlight while people relaxed to her melody, some wondering why she would keep stopping, before glancing to her figure writing down the notes. Was she always glued to that thing? She'd need a lot more than the carnival's salary to get into the business, unless she only saw her guitar as a past time. How was it, a beautiful girl sitting next to him was impossible to get attention from? Aside from the usual question of how the day went, when the answer rarely changed, since he didn't work in the gift shop, or at any specific ride unless absolutely needed to. There was no way he was going to be measuring, and watching over kids and grumpy adults who treated said kids as accessories. Working in a game stand where he collected money and gave out prizes in the shade with next to no manual labour required was perfect for his tastes. Work preferences aside, where was everyone else?
"Where is everybody? I feel like I'm the only guy here, no offense Manny." Waving off the possible insult, Isaac reset his coke on the counter top, seeing the bartender just returned, missing sweet, musical Alex swipe a drink. But, the brunette wasn't one to talk, as he did many times on previous breaks. Slightly condescending at the moment, Isaac glanced to the clock, seeing they had plenty of time to relax, before the real fun of the day began. One of the busiest nights of the festival, this little rich boy was slightly nervous working in the booth by himself for a bit while his partner went on a break, or lost a fixed coin flip of who had to clean up what mess. And if he was moved to a ride-such as the infamous ferris wheel that decided to be moody-there was no doubt in his mind whatever could go wrong to the new employee who had no experience in the working, would definitely go down wrong. "Hey Manny, I'm still working the games right? No rides?"
A hopeful, almost pleading tone was evident, for this rich boy was not about to get dirty, or screw up. That was the last thing he needed when trying to gain Remember's attention. To slip up and cause the whole carnival a mess. No amount of money would be able to fix that error, despite the fact that he had no money that could try if anything were to not go right. Muttering a quick "thanks" to the bartender for his refill, Isaac folded his left leg over the other, sighing in frustration to himself over the lack of attention he was getting from his interest beside him. This whole "no money thing" was really getting to him. Summer would be over before he knew it, and if he didn't do something to get the girl over Jamie, this brunette would have wasted all summer doing nothing but fail to get a girl. Firsts for everything could come later. █║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█

"An i d e a that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all." Ah, dammit all, he was late. Again. Erick sighed and turned his head back to his work, the tacky butterfly under his pen making him just that much more upset about missing the meeting. Another tacky fake tattoo for another tacky girl who wanted the thing on her lower back, where it would be super sexy. So many of these types of people strolled into his little booth every day, picking the most unoriginal of designs and asking for them in the most unoriginal of places.
Can I have a purple butterfly on my lower back?
Can I get an anchor that bulges up when I flex on my arm?
Can I get barbed wire around my neck?
Can I get you to to draw a sparrow on my boob?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hell to the no.
Erick was so tired of all the tramps that paraded through there every day. The one in front of him was especially irritating. She kept giggling and fidgeting and whining about how it tickled, and flicking her burnt, dead, bleach blonde hair back every other second as if it was supposed to be cute or something. The fraying pink leopard print G-string sticking out of her butt certainly didn't help his opinion of her. And neither did all the little whispers that were obviously meant to be overheard she kept swapping with her little gaggle of equally trampy-looking friends. Erick looked up from the butterfly for a moment, and lo and behold, was that a gold leopard patterned G-string he saw?
These girls were all the same. Trying too hard to get attention because they didn't respect themselves. Flirting and showing off whatever they had so that any man would smile at them. Needy and whiny and dramatic. And so damn talkative...
"I won't be able to get the wing patterns right if you keep talking. Your skin is moving around too much." the brunette said, his voice tired and monotone. The girl turned to him and gave him what he assumed was an attempt at a coy smile. "Oh, I'll keep quiet. I only squeal when you ask." she purred at him, making Erick roll his eyes and return to his work while her friends and her tittered and giggled away. Oh yeah. These wings would never look right.
Ah well, it wasn't like it really mattered. It would only be there for a week tops, and if the main inhabitants of her underwear drawer were similar to what she was currently wearing, then it would be rubbed off within two days. Erick sighed and licked his finger, wiping a bit of excess purple from one of the many swirls surrounding Madame Butterfly so it wouldn't drip and stain the skin where it wasn't supposed to. Tacky as it was, Erick refused to let his work be sub-standard. He had his pride.
"Alright, now you're going to need to let that air dry for about an hour. So don't rub it, scratch it, touch it, or put any clothing over it." Erick said, his voice tired. The girl rose from her seat and strode over to the full-length mirror in the other corner of the tent. She oohed and aahed with her friends over the little doodle, and assured him that her midriff would be bare for all to see for the rest of the night. He shooed her out as quickly as he could, and frantically started to pack up his supplies. Pens, inks, airbrushes, sponges, brushes, rice paper, all necessary for one thing or another. And all a bit of a bother to pack up. Erick flitted about his little tent, packing things up hapharzardly and leaving most of it still a mess before leaving the tent, and placing a little 'CLOSED' sign on a hook attached to one of the poles holding up the whole structure. Knowing the people around here though, something as obvious as a sign wasn't likely to keep them from walking in and then getting upset at the lack of decent service. Because people were stupid.
The brunette sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, forgetting the purple and black ink still smeared on them. They left colorful streaks down the center of his head, like a scene-kid skunk-do or something like that. But he kept on, unawares. Erick burst through the door to the casino, noticing that Manny was not there. He was probably already in the lounge, talking to everyone. Seemed he'd come in during the middle of a speech. Fan-freakin-tastic. Manny usually understood that you couldn't rush art, but, well. If he had interrupted one of his speeches...
Erick shuddered at the thought and strode over to the bar, leaning over the counter and retrieving a plain ol' orange soda. He certainly didn't respond well to alcohol. Poison was to be saved for special events, when he was allowed to get really insanely irresponsible and pull dangerous stunts without people getting too pissed at him. While on the clock was certainly not the best time to start thinking that jumping from carriage to carriage on the ferris wheel while it was moving was a good idea. Which would likely have happened if he allowed himself to get smashed. So for now, Fanta it was.
Erick popped the cap off and slid the little metal disk into his pocket. Didn't want to litter, y'know. He slid into the lounge as quietly as he could, and realized that he had missed Manny's entire speech. Dammmmmmmmmmmit. His shoulders slumped with the knowledge that he was going to get chewed out for this, but the sound of a guitar distracted him from his momentary sorrow. He looked up and saw Alex strumming away, turning every now and again to jot down notes in a little notebook. He watched her, and felt a childish grin steal across his lips. She was just, so interesting to watch. He wished he could do that. Take something like an instrument and coax music out of it. He had no ear for music. He couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Hell, he couldn't carry a tune in a....something much larger than a bucket. Like a sleigh. Maybe a wagon? Eh. English was hard.
Erick was pulled from his silent observing/watching/creeping of Alex by the sound of his friend Wisty's voice. He looked up and smiled at her. She was sitting next to Isaac and Laura. Why she was sitting next to Isaac was a mystery to him. Didn't she see that the spoiled jerk just wanted to hop in her pants? Seriously, it was so obvious. Why did girls have to be so clueless about this kind of thing all the time?
The artist strode over to his two friends and sat himself casually on Wisty's lap, throwing one arm around her shoulders and sipping at his soda. "Wisty! Laura! Capital to see you two. Just capital." he said, turning his back slightly to Isaac in attempts to block him out.

▶ ▷ Laura Janet Hudson ◀ ◁ ❝THINGS to do at the carnival❞ ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Like she promised, she gave him a round of applause at the end of his speech, chuckling at the groans admitted by her co-workers. Laura then turned over to her buddy Remember and smiled, happy to have her on board the casino lounge. She pressed her eyebrows together, unhappy with the idea of seeing a child injured; it was one of her pet peeves. She couldn't stand it. Maybe it was growing up as an only child without any siblings that made her this way, or maybe Laura was, in general, a caring person. Unless you were on her list of 'I utterly dislike you with a fiery passion'. There weren't too many people on that list, and she hoped she wouldn't have to add anyone else. She had yet to make any real enemies, but ya never know in a place like this. Anything can happen at a carnival. And considering they were all a bunch of young adults, the likeliness was only all the more sky rocketing.
Laura tilted her head, acknowledging Issac's presence. Since when did he talk to them? Well, he was usually giving googly-eyes, or at least his ultimate grace to Rem. Turning back to her good friend, she began to respond to her question while twirling the bendy straw in her lemonade. It was draining down to half the cup. Laura stared glumly at it before returning to her usual chipper-like-ness.
"Mmm, my day was dangerous and death defying. I had to carry crates of fragile explosives back and forth across the grounds. I'm just lucky I made it out alive." Laura responded to Rem's former question, her face expressing the exaggeration of the tale. "I tell ya, no one appreciates the people behind the bulk of the fireworks." She shook her head as if to emphasize this tragedy. The music swam softly past her hearing zone, a and as a reaction, she began to bob her head slightly. Man, that girl was talented. What was her name? Alex...
Before she could continue her head-bob-dance, she felt another presence. Yeah, literally felt. Like was it some wind or something that gave her the feeling he was wandering around. Maybe. Or maybe she was a creepy stalker with a sound alarm installed in her body. Even that option seems more likely than a magical wind. She followed him with her eyes and a smile, watching him take a seat among Rem's lap. Lucky dog. She knew they were just friends, and its not as if she was interested in a 'lap dance'; the girl could hardly withstand making out with the guys she's dated before. Mostly because the last one smelled like fish. Not that she's picky or anything, but she always preferred a good smelling guy if anything. Who wants to kiss fish breath? But Erick...oh Erick, he always smelled nice to her. Sometimes like after shave, or maybe a little bit like his paint collection. Which wasn't so bad truthfully.
But it was just a crush for the summer. Her eyes wandered over to him again. It took her a moment, but she noticed his hair was gelled with a new texture: purple and a bit of crimson. Laura stifled a giggle, wanting so badly to mess with his already messy hair-do. "Capital, capital." She replied, unable to take her eyes off his colored locks. "Busy day in the shop?" she smirked taking another quick sip of the tarty lemonade. Out of casual interest, she gently snatched—if that's possible—Erick's Fanta from his hand and poured a bit into her lemonade, wanting to fulfill its growing emptiness. No matter what anyone and their mothers' optimistic wisdom said to her about the cup being half full, it grew emptier and emptier by the second, so she planned to keep it more than 50% full. Taking a sip of the Fanta-lemonade concoction she smacked her lips once as if it might help the taste. It was pretty good, a bubbly drink. Placing it back in his hands she nodded and smiled innocently, "Delish."
She was probably really going to have to go to the bathroom soon after all this beverage. At least it would be a great excuse if she needed a spontaneous escape. ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ ☑ get stuck at the top of the Ferris wheel ☑ eat all the junk food there is ☐ summer fling? pssh, what baloney.

Pinching her straw that led down to her raspberry lemonade, Remember stared at one of the couples playing a game of roulette. If only she could talk Manny into letting her deal at the blackjack table. He knew her mother had done that during the summers here before her mom moved to cruise ship casinos to deal, and then went to be a republican radio talk-show hostess. Yeah, those were the fun times.
She could vividly remember the salty taste in the air, the pure shine of the sun heating the deck, or the crowds of people all dressed up to meet in the dining room for dinner and dancing. Mrs. Walker, back then, would sit her daughter up on one of the players chairs to pretend bet along with the other players. Except while they used actual chips she used animal crackers. A voice trailed through her thoughts, breaking her out of that flash back. Her face flushed at what he was saying, Isaac was complementing her again. He'd been doing it all summer, but the two barely knew each other. Wisty knew that he was hiding something from the rest of the carnie crew, and Manny knew what that something was, too. Secrets, secrets. Sharing's caring. Her mothers words when she didn't want to be exactly nice to her cousins. Hey, they could be real dirt bags some times, even now.
"Yeah. A bump and bruise is really that heroic. But you know," Raising her voice for Manny to hear "I wouldn't have to drag kids all over on a bloody leg if Mr. Boss Man over here would let me deal some cards. Fireworks are pretty awesome. We get a whole load worth of illegal works for Michigan when we meet up with family every year. I just don't understand how some people can view fireworks to be something to fear or barbaric. How about you? Do you look forward to the fireworks, Isaac?" All the talk about fireworks really made her miss her family, her cousins, and her friends. Sure, the people Remember was working with now were friends, but nothing like the people there. They'd known her since she was a baby, and her cousins... well, lets just say, when she was a baby they weren't even thought of yet. Wow.. they're almost thirteen now. Making me feel old.
"Oof. Erick! You know you're heavy!" She called as a weight sat itself in her lap. Despite what she said, she relaxed and sat back. Just like Laura, Erick was someone she just clicked with in the beginning of summer. But he seemed to click with everyone, that was just his personality. Easy going and friendly. Except for when it came to Isaac. She'd didn't miss her friends evil eye toward the brunette she'd been talking to before he sat on her thighs. What was up between those two? Turning her head to look at Isaac, she shot him an apologetic look before turning to Laura. Oh, did Wisteria forget to mention she could be a bit of a pyromaniac sometimes? Yeah, that was another reason they had fireworks in Michigan, to satisfy her quenching thirst for beautiful flames that licked at the sky.
"Oh, Laura." She said with a giggle towards her friend. "So since you're now the major expert on fireworks I guess you'll be helping the guys set them off tonight, too? They'd love a pretty gal like you back there!" She joked, but there was some truth in what she said. Laura was very pretty, and Wisty could say that without sounding gay. It was no wonder her exboyfriend had turned his eyes to her bestfriend. Yeah, that was the kicker. She never really let anyone see that she noticed Jamies ogling eyes on Laura. And there was nothing to be mad about, except toward James. Laura seemed completely uninterested in her ex, at least, she hoped...
Oh, was Remember forgetting to notice someone? Well, actually not. Alex was the new girl to the carnival and ever since she'd gotten there she'd been showing off ever since she'd gotten there! Who was she trying to impress anyway? She pulled herself out of her glower toward the new girl and thanked the bartender for refilling her raspberry lemonade.

Be my sunshine, be my star xxxxxxxxxx Be my romance, be my heart xxxxxxxxxx Be my flashlight, light my darkℭarℴℓinℯ ℳadisℴn ℋaℯℓℓxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ҏℓℯasℯ. ℒℯt's ℬℯ ℛℯaℓistic. Caroline hadn't made much of a peep. All the words Manny spoke practically flooded her ears only to end up spilling out the other. She had a lazy habit of distaste for hearing the same thing twice, and she pretty much knew all there was to be said. Her eyes searched the small group, mainly in sight for Jamie, but even Jeremy could do her some good at the time. She just didn't want to sit around on her lonesome like some pathetic couch potatoe, sipping booz and watching iddly as time past her by. No, Caroline liked to have an agenda, she liked to busy herself. Excitement, as she would have it said, is the closest thing to unrealist as realistic could be. That was her though, trying to make a curve in a straight line if only to make some amusement for herself.
The tune of Alex's guitar brought her from her subconcious state. Sadly the two boys flaunting by her weren't either of the ones she hoped to see. Issaic, some one she didn't necessarilly hate, but she certainly didn't think fondly of took a place next to her rather charming friend. Everyone loved Alex. She smiled as she looked to her, some thing about how she lost herself in the music seemed innocent, it always seemed old, but it felt new so often. She had tried convincing her to throw her life in to a swirl, set up some excitement. She hadn't thought much of his feelings, but she remembered mentioning Erick several times. Sure, he could be plain once in a while, but he wasn't always liked that. No where near Jamie, he wasn't a bad boy, but people didn't know him so well they had a good grasp of who he was. He was a wonderful summer romance, not for herself, she had her own little love drama going on, but for her sweet friend Alex, it sounded perfect.
As she watched fom a small ways away she found herself plopped into a chair, one arm danggling while she wastched with slight amusement and the other just sat the responsively, holding the drink so it wouldn't spill and kill her outfit. Caoline always dressed nicely after all, not quite the most appropriate sometimes, as she could overdress too much, but she was good with catching eyes, and customers with eyes. By no means did that mean she dressed to strip, she dressed in layers, even in the heat. Minus the small pink purse, portable dog, platinum blond hair, she could get confused with a high quota performer, not that she had many special talents. If she could do anything to amaze, it would be how she worked her way into people's thoughts. She knew how people thought and it helped her. It saved her tears, before anyone could break up with her, she was prepared, she might cry in solice, but she would look like a cold hearted b***h in person, because it didn't seem like it mattered. She just understood a lot, and when feelings were through, she was ready to welcome fresher, warmer ones. Much like Jamie. He managed to go three months with Remember, hell, she could do that, if she wasn't dating his best friend at the moment. It was a guilty pleasure, but she hadn't stopped, and Jeremy never got protective of her, so that didn't help wither.
Speak of the devil, and he shall come. Or in this case, she. Erick's playful greeting had quickly brought the presence of Remember to her attention. Why she disliked her, it wasn't hard to figure out. Carloline was a little envious of her past relationship with Jamie, something she hadn't the opportunity to have. But Caroline wasn't one to shatter a controllable atmosphere, so she hadn't any reason to fight in public. After all, even with all her and Jamie's flirting, it was innocent play in the eyes of others, or was it to Jamie to? No, she was quite sure he knew what she was doing. Any way, to everyone else, they were just friends, acquainted in relation to her boyfriend. She felt the burn in her throat and coughed lightly before patting her chest. Today was a fairly decent day weather wise, it wasn't too hot or too cold so she had a pretty decent wear on. Sweater, tight shirt, capris, sandals, sounded like a summer closet, though some of the things she drug out, they could make you wonder. But for now, she just sat back and relaxed.

σиє ∂αч чσυя ℓιfє ωιℓℓ ғℓαsн вeғσяє чσυя єyєs Work never ended for a man named Jeremy Andrew Burke. Occasionally though he was allowed a brief break to eat, rest, and prepare himself for working again. As Assistant Manager he was responsible for almost as much as Mr. Dawkins, but still he was an insubordinate and therefor followed his rules and orders. Jeremy is a hard working, talented young man who would run across the Carnival stark naked for the sake of his job. Course that was unlikely to happen, so he didn't worry about it very much. Jeremy's main station was the casino making sure no one cheated on a gamble, or caused any problems under his watch. Like a hungry hawk his watch was unrelenting, diligently on the job. Mainly the elderly and adults were in the casino, so mostly his job was smooth sailing.
Despite having permission to do so, he never drank. Well, he didn't drink while he was working. Jeremy was known from time to time to grab a delicate bottle of liquor to share with his girl Caroline. He wasn't blind, he noticed his best friend Jamie flirting with her a lot, but he never put much thought into it. Jeremy was loyal to Caroline, tried to keep her interested in him by being affectionate and romantic on any of their late night evenings together. He was pitifully unaware of her detachment from him and her growing desire of Jamie. Even if he knew, he'd only try harder to be sweeter, or just whatever it would take for his girl to stay with him. Jeremy loved Caroline, and couldn't imagine a day without her.
Everything for the day was settled and taken care of, the hard working teenager could finally take a rest for the evening. To which he'd be returning here as soon as his punch clock told him to be there. Jeremy was good friends with Mr. Dawkins, so whenever he was having a hard time he would let him slide. Those hard times usually ended up being his time planning to spend with Caroline. Was it healthy to care for a girl this much? He had plenty of opportunities to be just like Jamie, but he chose to settle and gush and coo over this one girl. Some thought he was a little clingy, but Caroline never said so. Only her opinion about things like this mattered to him.
Loosening the tie around his neck, Jeremy closed the door behind him and walked out of the back area of the casino. There were a few familiar faces he recognized. But they weren't of importance right now. Making his way through all the obstacles in his direct path, Jeremy sneaked up behind Caroline with a jovial grin splayed across his face. Interlacing his fingers with hers he purred into her ear. "Hey pretty girl, how are you tonight?" He said as he took his unoccupied hand to pull back a strand of hair blocking her ear from his mouth. He could be sneaky sometimes, and probably had startled her in the process of being affectionate. He'd be forgiven for it later. мαкє ιт ωσятн ωαтcнιиɢ

✪✪✪ ✪✪✪ ═══════════════════════════════════════════════ ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Working the games booths was easy for Jamie Pyne. Naturally a charmer, he raked in more than his fair share of cash by easily convincing people that they could win, and they always believed him. And the better he did at work, the happier Manny would be. And the less likely he would be to care when the extra hot dogs and French fries were cleaned out at the end of the day. And Manny was one of few people who truly understood the degree of necessity that came from Jamie’s family. Not every family in town could be like the Matthews family, after all.
The thought of Matthews caused Jamie to glance past the edge of his own booth and a group of girls to spot if that rich brat was still working. They were on the same break, and Jamie had forgotten his phone and simply didn’t own a watch.
Of course, the guy was gone. Jamie hopped over the counter that divided him and the pyramids of concrete-filled milk bottles from the rest of the world, and he strode right past the crowd of girls. His coworker could handle them, and they could stand to be ignored. Right now, there were two far more important things on his mind: the first being liquor, and the second being Laura. Not necessarily in order of importance, but both were there.
He wasn’t what one would call “in love” with the new girl by any stretch of the imagination. She was just the only female who had ever put up any true resistance to his charms. She was something new, she was beautiful, and he knew nothing about her. These three characteristics in combination caused him to target her, and she would remain a target until she was his.
He slipped in to the casino what seemed like mere moments after Manny had finished a speech, and he was apparently one of the last to arrive. Not that he cared. He strode past a crowd that surrounded Alex and her guitar, including his ex, Wisty—at least, that’s what he’d called her. Remember had too much meaning to the word itself to continue to refer to her that way. There were a lot of things that he’d always remember about her, and he didn’t need her name acting as a sort of curse on his subconscious to force thoughts of the girl. She was one who somehow managed to keep him interested for a few months. She’d been mysterious at the start was probably the reason, but once he’d figured her out, he’d lost interest. It hadn’t ever been love. He respected her and cared for her, granted, but he never did really love her. Love was something he had yet to experience.
He ignored the little crowd and approached the bar, taking an empty seat a few stools down from Caroline and Jeremy, two of his best friends. Well, Jeremy was his best friend, and Caroline was his friend by romantic tie to Jeremy. Not that he didn’t like Caroline. Quite the contrary, actually. He really liked her, and she was really quite a stunner. A wonder that someone like Jeremy got a girl like her.
He tossed her a wink over his friend’s shoulder, but remained wordless. He gave the bartender a smile, and the bartender in turn gave him a rum and coke. A nod of thanks, and Jamie turned wordlessly on his stool to face the room. Someone would approach him for conversation if they wanted it, he wouldn’t have to go out of his way looking for it. Plus, he really didn’t want to join the circle that contained Wisty. It was common knowledge that she was still pining for him, and he didn’t want to make that any harder on her or anyone else.════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ════════════════════════════════════════ ✪✪✪ ✪✪✪ Oh yes, I'm the great pretender Pretending that I'm doing well My need is such; I pretend too much I'm lonely but no one can tell.

Be my sunshine, be my star xxxxxxxxxx Be my romance, be my heart xxxxxxxxxx Be my flashlight, light my darkℭarℴℓinℯ ℳadisℴn ℋaℯℓℓxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ҏℓℯasℯ. ℒℯt's ℬℯ ℛℯaℓistic. He startled her alright. While she glanced the others over in a casual manner, hoping tomaintain a cool and calm air about her, not that she really had to try. Caroline was one of those people that always seemed relaxed, some times hard to talk to, brutally blunt, and well... she was always good with advice, unless it tangled into her affairs, and then all hell breaks loose, because no one, no one gets into her business without a permit fromt he lady-god herself.
The soft pur of a welcome sent a chill up he spine, causing her back to arch and her arms to stretch back and catch the perpetrator. Of course it was Jeremy. He had to be like that, had to try and remind her constantly why she still held feelings for him, why she was so greedy she couldn't just flat out drop him for Jamie. He was her anchor and Jamie, as sensatious as he was, was a male siren, sending her to sea.
She drink had fumbled slightly, spilling a tad on the bottom of her dress but she didn't seem to notice. Her attention had drawn in another direction, other than that of her disguised little alcoholic drink. She tilted her head back, only to confirm her suspicions and smiled, shaking her head.
"How many times have I told you not to sneak up on me like that." Letting him go, she got up from her seat to give him a lightkiss on the lips. She held the faint taste of alcohol, vodka to be exact. Her eyes fluttered shut as she gave him a coy grin and then patted the seat next to her before sitting down herself. Of course, any affectionate play had been diverged on the sight of Jamie strolling in. There was her guilty pleasure acting up again, all because Mr. Badboy had to stroll in.
"Hey." She let a chime follow her beck as she waved hello, already watching as his eyes traced to Remember. She didn't exactly like that. Nothing out of the ordinarily seemed wrong about having him join the two of them. At least that's what she told herself, though it seemed more common that she had been assuming lately. Her hand rested on Jeremy's lap as a quaint reminder. She couldn't forget him, which, if Jamie didn't get plastic surgery, she might.
Caroline passed a glance beneath the two of them and shrugged her shoulders as she gave Jeromy a peckish kiss to the cheek. It tasted sultry, not that he was anything but sweet, though it felt like a crime to have the both of them there. But after all, Jeremy was her anchor and she was just the sinking ship at the moment.

"An i d e a that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all." Erick smirked and wiggled in Rem's lap, sipping at his drink. "You know you love it." he said, turning slightly to face her and giving her the most sultry expression he could muster. Which of course, looked positively ridiculous. He heard Laura's greeting and turned his face to her, giving her a jovial smile. She was staring at something, something a little bit above his eyes. His brow furrowed in slight confusion, and he reached up to check his forehead. Was there a zit starting that he was unaware of? Oh, that would be swell. Just freaking swell. Forehead zits were the worst, right after nose zits and chin zits.
"What're you looking at? I know I drive your body wild with desire, but staring like this is slightly rude my little Aryan friend." Erick said, his tone teasing. Laura was blonde-haired and blue-eyed. Like a little Nazi! A sweet, unassuming Nazi, but still. He had called her Nazi once to her face, and, whoo. Now he knew never to make that mistake again. He could understand why she didn't like it. Most people would be offended after being nicknamed for a group of folks who had caused the deaths of thousands of innocent Jews. How could anyone have anything against the Jews? They didn't crowd the stores at Christmas-time, left more bacon for the rest of the world to enjoy, and were fantastic bankers. Good group of people. Erick liked 'em well enough, at least.
He was interrupted from his musings by the sudden loss of his drink. His eyes widened as he leaned after Laura, making grabby hands for his bottle. "Not cool! Laura, c'mon!" Erick whined, snatching it back from her at the earliest possible moment. He narrowed his eyes and chugged everything that was left in the bottle, fighting the urge to stop as the carbonation tickled his throat and burned in his nostrils. No more stealing his drink. No ma'am.
Wisty started talking to Laura about fireworks, but Erick was slightly less than interested in them. They were too loud. Too noisy a bang for the lame visual that preceeded it. He liked 'em well enough drunk, but otherwise, not too big a fan. However, the turn her sentence took did catch his attention. Laura? Back with the pyro pigs who worked the fireworks? Oh ho ho. Not going to happen. Not so long as he had anything to say about it.
Erick shook his head violently and leaned forward, seizing Laura's face in his hands. "Now you listen here missy. No one steals your virtue but me, understand?" he said, his tone very serious but the glint in his eye teasing. He suddenly clutched her face to his bosom and stroked her hair, pretending to sob. "Wisty! Our little girl's growing up!" he moaned, leaning his own head down to rest on hers. She was so innocent, so young. He would let no man defile her! ← ↑ ↖ ↕ ↔ ☒ ↔ ↕↗ ↓ →

She didn't mean to show off, she just wanted to play and make poeple happy. Her gaze looked up for a second and she saw that everyone was here, Jamie, Erick, Jeremy, Isaac, Laura, Remember, and Caroline. Her brown eyes went right back to her guitar and she paused to take a few notes. She secretly got nervous when poeple watched her play. On the outside, however, poeple told her that she had a look of pure innocence on her face. She hoped the others liked her music and part of her really hoped Isaac and Erick liked it. Maybe Caroline was right, maybe she did need a little summer romance in her life. Alex was a little too shy to get to know either of the guys on her own, maybe Caroline could tell her.
She couldn't help but smile as Erick joked around. He was really funny. Alex made the melody on her guitar a little faster and more upbeat. She flipped to a new page in her notebook and began to play the upbeat tune. She glanced up at Jamie and couldn't help but roll her eyes. Personally, Alex found the guy to be a jerk, the way he went out with a girl and flirted with other girls. All she saw in him was a jerk. His charm didn't even work on her. She would never even consider dating Jamie. She felt bad about he had ended it with Remember, Wisty was a nice girl and she deserved better then him. Alex had never gotten to know Wisty that well, yet. Really, the only person she was friends with was Caroline. Alex was shy around poeple, super shy. She mostly kept to herself and kept out of the other's way. That was why she loved playing music, it let her express herself and show what she was truly feeling.
Alex glanced up and smiled at Erick. He was a decent guy and he seemed fun, something Alex probably needed in her life. Although, I boyfriend would probably distract her form her dreams of making it into the music world. Although, those dreams seemed to be on a stand still at the moment. Besides, would a little summer romance really hurt her? Maybe she should give it a try. The thought of giving it a chance scared her, since Alex had never had a boyfriend before. She would never admit that but she had never dated a guy, ever. Alex continued the dong, getting lost in it and her thoughts. She swayed back and forth as she played, closing her eyes now and then. The world around her seemed no more as she began to think again. She had thought about getting into the music world for many months but she doubted she'd ever have the money. If only she could get it somehow. She knew Isaac had enough but she doubted he'd lend her any of it. And using him was slowly getting out of the questions, Alex felt guilty even thinking about the idea of using the boy. Maybe she could ask Manny if she could play some shows at the carnival and possibly get noticed by someone? Yeah, she should do that. Lots of poeple came to the carnival and if she was as good as poeple said, she might be able to make a little extra money. Alex smiled at her idea and continued the upbeat tune. ☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷ ☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷

How he had even managed to sit near these three without them saying something was beyond him, but it didn't particularly matter. He was planning on leaving soon anyways. Crowds of these people, weren't his thing. Especially when his phone kept buzzing every few seconds. "Fine, don't take my compliments." Shrugging off her sarcasm, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. She was a pyromaniac? Well that was something he didn't think of her as. "They're pretty, but too short for my liking. But as for looking forward to them, I got no one to watch them with aside from the people at the games booth, so not really."
A twinge of jealousy rippled through the brunette's body, as Erick was getting all touchy, feely, and emotional, making him abruptly stand in annoyance. Honestly, how on earth did Remember not see him trying to get her to like him enough so they could at least try a date? But knowing Erick and his jealous ways of letting his best friend talk to a male, Isaac knew he wouldn't get the chance to ask her before the summer festival unless he got Remember to talk to him away from her ex, and before she got to her friends. Sure, he'd known all these guys from early on in his life, just as they knew him from his dad's big name, but that didn't mean they were buddy buddy. Not even close. "To be honest, I think this is the first time I've ever spoken to them..." Shrugging away the thought, Isaac snatched his coat before giving half a wave with his right hand, signaling his leave. Sliding out his new touch phone from his pocket, his thumb moved furiously to reply to his friends who were wondering where he was at, rather than at their party. Of course, he wouldn't give a direct answer. He'd rather be chained up to Jamie for a month than reveal he was cut off until school started again, and he'd had experience in the real world.
Before leaving, he passed by Alex, who was still playing her cheery music, before muttering that she wasn't "half-bad". The brunette could make it into the industry, but hard work would not help. She needed money, and jobs like this wouldn't get her anywhere near the business until she was too old to play. Which was why, he could give her some of his connections, for a price of course. this man was determined to get at least a moment with Remember without her actually thinking of Jamie, and solely on the crazy idea of moving on with someone like him for awhile. but the quick words probably weren't heard over the sound, as Isaac left the casino for a little walk before returning to his post.
Eyes glued to his phone, the richest boy in town maneuvered his way through the crowd, going to the parking lot, sitting on the hood of his Porsche, rolling his eyes at some of the comments. His friends, were truly idiots. Isaac only wished he was away with some girl at the moment, but her friends would have none of it. A few more weeks, and he could get the money he needed, depending on his behaviour, and hopefully keeping in touch with Remember, would have the chance he wanted. Sheer determination would make sure of this. █║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█

Goodness, she felt like she had all three of her little cousins on her lap! Erick was bouncing around like a six year old, as normal, and was enjoying every second of it. "Oh fine, but you spill any of that drink and you're a-" well she was going to say 'dead man' but Laura snatched his drink away from him and gulped a little of it down. That got ride of her problem, but she couldn't help but notice the pain in her blonde friends eyes, and maybe a bit of envy? Isaac was slightly ascewed from where they sat so it was pointed at her and Erick, definitely. Could she maybe like Erick? That would explain a lot... It would explain why she was completely resistant to Jamie trying to allure her to him, and that was pretty hard to do.
Isaac had continued on their conversation even after Erick had acted so rude to him. She loved Erick, but he could be a nosy butt sometimes. Because Erick was on her lap she had to strain her ears a bit to hear what he had to say. Did he say soemthing about compliment? She wasn't sure, but then he went on to say that he had no friends to watch the works show with, what was he talking about? "Hey, we all work under the same person. We're no different then those in your game booth. So what do you mean alone? You're sitting here having a drink with us all, right? You can join us during the works show, of course!" She was completely appauled by what he'd said. Remmie hated others being left out of things, it just wasn't fair. As far as she knew he wasn't very close to anyone in the carnie group. It had to be pretty lonesome, she had to admit, but still. He'd been there just as long as anyone else, his background and his parentage were probably the only things keeping him distant from everyone, and that just wasn't right.
She threw her head back and laughed as she watched them fighting over the drink, but her laughing stopped when Jamie came in and purposely avoided joining the group. Pain errupted through her as she noticed the obvious, and yet her brain still insisted on cramming it down her throat. He's ignoring them because of me? Oh, that just made the blow deepen, she'd never wanted that. She could understand being a pissy little brat towards her, but not to her friends because of her, she'd never be able to take that. Although.. if it kept him away from Laura then that'd be fine. The last thing it seemed her friend needed was him coming on to her with Erick there.
Sometime during her thoughts Remembers head had sunk down to her chest as she avoided curious eyes from other attendants, like the bartender, as to what was going on between them. The red head did not like change, but when things happened that were out of her control she had to just grin and beret and get over it. If he wanted to act like she didn't exist and they'd never known each other? Then she could do just that. Her head twisted upward, seeing Laura's face in Ericks chest and him putting on a dramatic scene. What had pulled her away from her thoughts was when he called Laura 'missy' which sounded a lot like 'Wisty' in her mind.
"Oh Erick. You're such a drama queen!" But to be honest, she didn't even remember him leaving her lap to go hold their friend at all. It was efficient that he did, however, since she needed an escape route. She refused to ruin everyone elses time by keeping Jamie away. Turning in her seat to see an empty chair behind her, Wisteria furrowed her brow as she looked to see where Isaac had run off to. How could someone move that quietly? Erm, well, her friends weren't being very quiet either. She looked up one more time to see James still standing there, ignoring everyone over at the bar. Was he always this spiteful? Did she never see that in him? The answer she didn't know, but shaking her head with a frown on her face she got up and walked out of the casino. Sending him a dirty look as walked by. Was it a genuine look? No. But a lot of hurt had built up in her during a short time and as a defense mechanism she was making herself angry instead. Only Laura knew how much Jamie had hurt her when she left, and the red head wanted to leave it like that.
"Isaac! Wait up a sec. geez." The brunette walked well a head of her, but the crowd had dimmed down enough for him to maybe hear her voice over the hussle and bustle. She wanted to apologize for the way Erick had acted, cause she knew her friend would never say he was sorry with the look she saw in his eye towards the rich kid. And he had completely left without answering her invite to the show later that night with Laura and Erick.
