Rocket Agent Seth

Seth's gaze merely tilted towards Kunai for a moment as she spoke. Her words were then followed by a huff. "Relax. I know it wasn't you."

Long fingers flew over the keys of his keyboard as he drew brought up various files and walls of text that only a computer geek like those in his department could decipher. "Your email account was hacked. That should be obvious. There are only two people in my department that are capable."

His eyes scanned through various techno jibberish and his frown deepened before he continued. "Hayes is one." However, Seth knew the mousey geek probably wasn't responsible. "The other, most likely culprit, is 1337." The "name" of said agent dripped with loathing as Seth spoke it.

User Image Even with the reassurance of her innocence, the pink-haired girl did not seem to relax in the slightest. The only change shift in her stance came from her pulling out a Kunai knife from her back pouch and began to skillfully play with it in her fingers. "Indeed, I was actually locked out when I attempted to access my email today." It was not difficult to figure out what happened when she walked past a few dorms and received strange looks, and the screen had a very stupid photo manipulation on it.

"Grunt One three three seven? I do recall reading in one of your reports about his general conduct and his reactions to reprimand." Based on profiling alone, Kunai also was in agreement that the culprit was the rather eccentric computer hacker. She only paused for a moment to make mental note of this, but then added one piece of food for thought.

"What would you suggest we do with this Grunt, Agent Seth? Since the usual methods of reprimand do not seem effective with him." Reprimand was only reprimand if it actually worked in making the person miserable.

She had actually read those reports? Well that was encouraging to some degree. Other than the fact that 1337 liked to make Seth look like an idiot, case in point.. the picture.

The tall elite drummed his fingers on his desk as he scowled at the computer monitors. Once he was done, there would be no trace of that image left anywhere on the system. However, he would totally have to rewrite the security for the email systems, thanks to that b*****d.

"I would like nothing more than to nail his head to the cafeteria wall." That was his honest wish, however... there were some unfortunate regulations about slaughtering "valuable" members of Team Rocket without good reason. Wasting resources and all that. Everything he had tried so far seemed to only cause 1337 joy and amusement.

The best thing he could think of at the moment though... "Solitary confinement with absolutely no access to electronics." Naturally that wouldn't include the visor since Seth had yet to figure out how to get the damn thing off... then he glanced at Kunai with her knives and smirked. "Do you think you're skilled enough with those to pry that thing off his face?"

"Kunai," Nadja repeated. It would have been a flat tone, but there was a laugh bubbling up underneath it. What sort of laugh was another matter, but it was safe to guess it contained a good amount of 'I can't believe what I just saw.' The redhead hadn't had much contact with her colleague, but based on what she had read and experienced first hand: "No."

The Pokedex beeped, there was an Eevee into her lap, and the screen winked out. Nadja snorted and handed the device back, mouth still twisted in an indefinite shape. "In the future it would be better not to disseminate such things," she warned, but an experienced listener could tell there wasn't as much force behind the command as there should be. While she had recovered her composure - most of it, anyway - the redhead was still nonplussed - enough not to mind the ball of fuzz making itself comfortable on her knees.

"Yes, ma'am." Nyx put her blanked-out pokedex into her lab coat pocket. "Not Elite Kunai? Who do you think, then, Miss Nadja?" Nyx gave Bunsen a look, but the little dear flipped his tail up at her, turned away, and plopped down on this new person. She had red hair. He liked red hair.

"Wait-" Nyx looked up. "We didn't just have a power outage. What happened to the computers... and my pokedex?" She was talking half to Miss Nadja, half thinking out-loud.

User Image Her knife flicked around her finger, back and forth as she also seemed to think through all the information being given to her. Her brows were low, obviously not amused by this strange situation. Yet, as she mentally processed the information, she did come up with some choice things to say.

"I apologize in advance, but I may say some things which you may not agree with. These are merely observations on my part, as an outsider looking in."

Her hand gripped upon the handle of her knife and she lifted up a gloved pinky, as if counting.

"One. I wonder if you give him enough work to keep him busy? 1337 is not stupid. He has proven this several times. His actions simply come across as attention seeking. It would seem like a reasonable manner to discourage his negative behavior. This suggestion is simply for everyday methods to deter this behavior."

Her ring finger was brought up.

"Two. Based upon your reports, I would suspect my abilities with knives and weapons would be of no use to pry such a piece of equipment off of the Grunt's head. I am not a fine motor skills sort of Agent. I do not tinker. I would probably just cut off his head to remove the equipment. Which is against health regulations. I apologize for being less than helpful."

Her middle finger was brought up with the other two, so now only her pointer finger and thumb were holding onto the knife.

"Three. This is probably the last thing you want to hear right now, but I could easily utilize 1337 into my program, since his less than proper responses to reprimands are actually valuable in my field. If he gets captured and tortured, he's less likely to spill information."

Even with what seemed like vague praise for the problem causer, Kunai's tone was absolutely flat and professional. Her mind never seemed to leave business mode. There was no pleasure in her tone. It was simply an observed fact. 1337 would fit in her program well. The knife between her two fingers was skillfully slid down around her thumb and her pointer finger was extended for the fourth and final point.

"Four. That is an appropriate reprimand for an attention seeking Grunt. How many days would you recommend? I will make certain to locate 1337 immediately after you give the sentence."

Her points absolutely finished, she clenched her fingers shut again and once more began to fiddle with her weapon.

Hayes didn't spend all his time at work in the computer labs.

Sometimes he worked in his room. He could listen to music, watch an episode of something-or-other when he needed a break, or just enjoy peace, quiet, and no chance of his immediate supervisor bursting through the door to berate some grunts.

And then his computer died.

"The hell-!" the blond swore at the dark screen and bent to look under his desk. "Switch-"

"P'ka," a pair of yellow ears sticking out from under his comforter muttered. The agent made an exasperated noise - no cables unplugged, the lights were on, his alarm clock still blinked by his bed..

Yeah, the network was out.

The programmer rolled his chair back and stood. Roused by the activity, a green-eyed Pikachu emerged from the bedcovers where it'd been snoozing. Seeing his trainer heading for the door with purpose, Switch shook himself and scampered after him, scaling the agent's pant leg and t-shirt to perch on his shoulder as the door shut behind them.

There was a new posting on the bulletin board in the hall. It was pink. It was sparkly.

It was Seth.

Hayes opened his mouth to say something, but no sound came out.

Seth's smirk immediately dropped away as soon as Kunai gave her apology in advance. Leaning back in his chair and steepling his fingers, the elite gave the other a hard stare as she proceeded to give her opinions. Despite his obvious displeasure, he gave her his full attention for the moment.

There were things said that he could easily take personally, and he had to grit his teeth to keep from snapping at her. Especially considering the already foul mood he was in. But this was the first time someone was actually able to give some decent insight on 1337's behavior.

Once she was done, Seth huffed out his irritation. "Giving him more to do can be remedied. However, I don't care to reward his insolence." Which is probably how 1337 would view it. He'd probably love to have more to do... and after all this grief, giving in was the last thing he wanted to do.

Her second point wasn't even commented on since it wasn't worth it in his opinion.

"I could care less if you used him." It would at least get him out of his hair, sometimes. Seth then heaved a sigh. "Double the length he was in there last time."

User Image Ah, there were advantages to having his eyes shielded from the world. He was easily able to see as Hayes wandered to the bulletin board that the computer hacker was sitting near. For once, he had a relatively neutral expression, and he tried his best to not comment or turn his head.

He needed Hayes to make a noise, or even that Pikachu before he could attempt to make conversation.

User Image "I did not say that the change in workload needed to be immediate. If you started to incorporate the sudden change in workload immediately, he could easily make the connection. However, a gradual increase would be much less noticeable to him."

She paused.

"It is like what they say for training any sort of canine Pokemon. Rewards need to be immediate, or the association for the behavior and reward are lost. Delay the change in environment and it will most likely go unnoticed."

She flicked her blade to face towards her coworker. "However, he is intelligent enough I think to possibly even notice such a simple change, no matter how slow or gradual the change. I could perhaps recommend that he splits his shift between departments. Your department and my department. You could keep his workload the same, but putting him in my department would also add extra work, but would not necessarily be a reward, since it isn't with technology."

When he gave the sentence, Kunai's knife twirled upon her finger, and was once more put into her back pouch. With her weapon put away, she saluted Seth respectfully. "Noted. Should hot sauce be included this time with his meals so he does not escape the reprimand prematurely?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 04, 2010 9:31 pm

It wasn't the first time he'd had sharp pointy objects directed at him, and likely wouldn't be the last. Thus Seth didn't so much as flinch or even look at the blade that Kunai held in her hand.

There was a thoughtful frown at Kunai's words. Although he was inwardly amused at the thought of 1337 being compared to a dog. Her comments gave him something to mull over. Suggestions that were not entirely disagreeable. However, he didn't say as such for now.

At the mention of the hot sauce though, Seth grunted. "Yeah." This was ridiculous.

User Image She saluted her comrade again, once more announcing "Noted" before turning and exiting his office. She was on the fourth floor, and as she recalled from the various files she had read over, 1337 was currently stationed on the third floor when it came to his dorm room.

It would be the best place to search to begin with. Swiping her card key at the elevator, she stepped in with an absolutely sour look upon her face. Her mood was still absolutely seriously and absolutely filled with rage. The moment she stepped out of the elevator on the new floor, any nearby Agent or Grunt knew they should keep out of her way if they valued their good looks. Her knife was in her hand, and unlike her usual manner of playing with it, the hand seemed poised, ready to attack. The first place to investigate was 1337's actual assigned dorm room.

God help any soul who ran across Elite Agent Kunai.

Seth said nothing further and simply watched as Kunai made her departure. Once she was gone, he grunted his irritability once more and went back to what he was doing. He wouldn't leave the network offline for long after all.

Thus began the work of purging the entire system of that horrendous picture and fixing the security breach that 1337 had caused. His rage becoming renewed as he merely thought about it and typed furiously at his keyboard.

Nadja wasn't listening; she was looking past Nyx, and as a thought arose, so did she from her chair, automatically gathering Bunsen into her arms as she stood. One hand supported the little Eevee's bottom while the other went across his ruff, letting his front paws drape over. "Did he-?"

The department had very good acoustics, and almost all of its computers were hooked up to the network, feeding data to shared or private drives. You could hear nearly every curse, shout and lurid imprecation as computer screens went dark in every lab. Nadja's expression snapped into sharp focus and irritation flared.

"Damn him."

The network failure was no accident; killing the whole system was Seth's style.

"Come." Nadja stepped into the hall; once Nyx exited her office, she pulled the door to and started down the hall to see to her staff. Three steps in she stopped and held the Eevee out to Nyx. "And take this."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 04, 2010 11:03 pm

"Yes ma'am." Nyx followed close behind the Elite and almost had trouble stopping herself in time when Nadja stopped and held Bunsen out.

"Yes ma'am." She took the Eevee, who grunted and complained with quiet 'vrrs' and 'eees' as he switched arms. She had one arm under him, and one around his front, with her hand resting on his head. "Shush."

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Jen managed to pull her burning eyes away from the picture of her pink-draped boss.

"Oh gawd...Im gunna have nightmares now..." Happy that she had switched off voice chat before spitting out her drink, the grunt made a move to close the window and go back to what she was doing-

Only to have her jaw hit the table when the screen went black.

The picture was gone now.
But so was all that game data she was working on!

The maps...
The plotting...
Her record of the voice chat...

Deleted.

Fuming with rage and annoyance, she ripped the headset off her head and snapped the laptop shut before poking her sleeping Jolteon in the head.

Blinking back the cloud of sleep, Don looked around before staring up at Jen. His trainer almost never disturbed naptime! What the heck?! But the human wouldnt allow the sleepy pokemon to drift back into dreamland. "Come on, Don! We gotta see whats going on!"

"Jolt!"

"You'll get the rest of yer nap later!"

With that, she was off with her Jolteon trotting along at her heels; he kept yawning and shaking his head, even when they reached the elevator outside the mess hall.

Destination: 3rd floor
Target: Someone roaming around from the tech labs. Or at least someone who knew who and what had shut off the network.

Thankfully, it didnt take long for the female grunt to find someone. And that someone, standing like an idiot infront of the same picture that had plagued her laptop, was...Hayes, if she remembered right. Laptop under her arm, Jen limped over to the Agent.

"HAYES!" Donar bounced over to this new human, now fully awake. "Yo! Snap out of it!"
