“I’m sure he found something,” K’la answered with the intent to reassure. She wasn’t, in fact, sure of that at all, but her hope of it was strong enough that propagating it seemed reasonable. “He’s just taking his time about it is all, but I’m sure at least the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman are informed. And besides, Trine was no place for a vacation. Yvoth enjoyed the heat, but the humidity was a nightmare for my hair.” She touched her curls posessivly.
((we can wrap this up whenever btw))

Ugh. Humidity. If anyone could understand K'la's love of her hair it was her son. The thought of having to try and keep his hair perfect, fighting valiantly against the forces of nature, was enough to put the boy off of Trine forever. Thankfully, unless he was some day sent there, he would never have to deal with such horrors.
"I think I've probably used up all of my breakfast time," Kadayon said as he took a quick look around at the slowly emptying dining hall. No doubt the Candidatemaster would want them off to chores. Anyone who didn't report in for duty would get in trouble and while the boy did have a small amount of leeway (his mother had just arrived from Trine after all) he didn't want to push his luck. "I'll see you later then?" He left it as an open-ended question as he made his way around the table for a hug. Even if she didn't have time to see him later, Kadayon was glad that he had managed to catch her early. He had missed her.
