"What a nice, peaceful village" came a voice from the woods.
Within the mingling trees, Drake casually stepped forward. The lake was to his right and the open space it held gave fair sight to the village before him. Even from far off, the appearance of armor could be seen. Plus, the one wyvern was the very same Drake had kept seeing with the Learanian army. He smirked. "...Too bad everyone in it is going to die."
Without warning, the peace the simple village had quickly began to turn into war. Fear spread through the villagers as bandits rushed toward the village. They had full rights to lose their hope. They probably didn't expect the war to go so far deep into Learania.
But it had.
Drake ran through the streets, taking on anybody that came across him whether is was purposefully or by accident. The massive blade could be seen swinging about, following by the flinging of blood. The axemen laughed as they instilled terror into their victims. Some began to light torches and set the feeble homesteads aflame. The Learanians better have rested while they were able. They were in for a fight.
Once Drake was finished with this village, there would be nothing stopping him from getting to the gates of Eyris...

Rajin could talk all he want and shake Sunil all he want. That cat was too high to do much right now.
"Nyaaaa..." Sunil was now rolling around on the ground before he curled up for a short catnap.
Rajin snapped his fingers in front of the cat's face. He opened his eyes slowly, got a big goofy grin on his face, then shifted to his Beast form before rubbing up against Rajin's legs, purring.
Yep, Sunil was really, really out of it. Even with the danger approaching.((Meh post is meh.))

Just when he thought the cat had his sense back, the tiger saw the goofy look again. Few seconds later, the cat started to change his form and started to rub against Rajin's legs. Was that a purr he made? ... Damnit, it was.
"You gonna be ******** kidding me." Rajin lowered his brow, annoyingly. Well, at least it wasn't dangerous or out of control. However, seeing a cat doing that sortta ruined his pride even more. Hadn't that cat had pride of himself as a cat laguz? Seriously, that cat was making himself looked more as a domestic housecat.
Before Rajin could do anything, he suddenly heard something from across the lake. Turning his head around, the tiger saw group of bandits running toward the village. Rajin let out a curse. Great, just ******** great. It seemed they could never get a break from it. Oh well, at least now he could let out his stress and frustration now.
The tiger was about to make a dash when he felt something rubbing against his leg. Looking down, he saw the cat continued rubbing him. s**t, he nearly forgot about the cat being high. Well, there was one thing he would.
Rajin quickly picked up the cat and headed toward the lake. Whether the cat continued to rub him or not, the tiger ignored it. They had serious things to worry about. When the lake reached to his knees, he stopped.
"Sorry buddy, but we got s**t business to handle." Rajin said. He quickly let go of his holding and let the cat dropped into the lake before he turned around and ran. Whether the cat came to his sense or got angry, Rajin didn't have the time to check on him. There was a battle in this village. But which priority should he go first? Protecting the injured and defenseless people in the village or kick the bandits' butts?
... Well, it was very obvious which one he would pick.
Rajin shifted into his true form and dashed off toward where the battle was taken place. He could hear the screaming in the village as well as smelling the metal weapons and blood flooded the streets. And what's this? He heard something kindling as well as smelling something burning.
When he made a turn, he saw the homesteads set on fire. Great, the bandits had decided to burn down the village too. This would not be good for the tiger. It looked like he had to be careful of where he would be fighting. He didn't want to get all burned up.
Not letting the bandits take any further, the tiger rushed toward them as fast as he could. When he approached them, Rajin let out a roar of battle before pouncing the nearest bandit and sank his teeth at the neck. He hoped that the bandits didn't carry any torches with them. It would be difficult for him to get near them if they used the torches as weapons.

Let the moonlight sign post shine through the clouds to me ____and show me which road to take ______No matter how close to breaking I am today.... I'll re-awaken the distant memory of that day______ So don't forget, keep it carved in your heart. -Ephraim- Screams? What was this? Ephraim turned his head to where the source was. His eyes widened at the silhoutte figure he saw not too far along the way. A soft growl escaped his lips and a hand raised as he heard footsteps behind him. "Get whoever you can out of this village, we do not need anymore casualties." he wasn't the captain...he's not the one in charge..but damn as hell he wasn't going to let anybody else die here right now.
His short spear was picked up and while some people ran away from the battle, Ephraim headed toward the it or at least far enough from the main battlefield where the entire town wasn't left defenseless. That was far enough! With a soft 'ha' the spear in his hand was chucked toward an up coming bandit and it pierced him straight where the collar bone was. Just when it was about to be removed, the lancer took hold of the shaft with his right hand, his left hand came over the bandit's head and shoved him to the ground. At the same time, ramming the spear head through flesh and muscle.
This ends here, so as long as Ephraim could stand on his own two feet he would see to it that he do his best just to get a majority of these people to safety.
(Please notify me if there's something I need to change) (I love it. especially the "that was far enough" part.) (PFFT I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THAT TILL YOU POINTED IT OUT XDDD )

I feel like I can face the day... ...and I can forgive. ♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦ ————————————
Alihi was glad she had sent Amara out of the area. If the little girl was around and listening to the news she would have started crying or, even worse, asking questions that she or the soldier couldn't answer.
"Nowhere is safe, anymore... possibly not even Eyris."
A shiver ran down her spine, fear flickering over her eyes. She was hoping things wouldn't get that bad; the tactician planned on getting Amara to Eyris so that she would be safe while she was out and about. But with that option practically gone, what could she do? In a situation like this, Learania needed her. She was, to her knowledge, the only tactician that they had. If she abandoned them, they would have no one like her to turn to, and then they'd lose. I--
The soft pitter-patter of feet behind her signaled the little girl's return with the medical supplies that were available. A slight smile forced its way to Alihi's face. Need to take this one thing at a time. "Thank you, Amara. Do you want to come out with me? We could--"
She stopped herself, spotting a fire in the corner of her eye. Normally, that kind of thing would go by unnoticed, but the fact that the fire was placed where she knew buildings were set off warning bells in her head. There was only one conclusion she could reach; the battle had moved to her village. Grimacing, she turned back inside her own house, retrieving her rapier.
Alihi wasn't going to stand for this.
"I'm sorry to ask you this, but if you can get out of the village, please, bring my daughter with you. Pass the message to whoever it needs to go to. I just don't want her dragged into this mess." She told the soldier at her door before turning to her daughter, ruffling her hair. ". . . I'll see you later, alright?"
"G-go get them, mommy!" She exclaimed with a nod, clenching her tiny fists tight.
The tactician grinned with confidence. "I'll do what I can."
Without another word she was off, with the intent of getting into the battle. In the back of her mind, she knew she should have said something to Abel; at the same time, she had a feeling it wouldn't have registered in his brain properly, therefore becoming a waste of time as well as her breath. Besides, she had a feeling that if he had at least a scrap of sense in him, then he would be staggering behind her with the idea of protecting her. But I can't rely on him right now. And I shouldn't.
And if he shows up, I'll order him off the battlefield.
Her eyes flickered around, taking in her surroundings. Fire, screaming, bandits, villagers, blood . . . a scene was far too used to, and one that she never wanted to see in Vayrin. She wasn't surprised by all the familiar faces; in a way, it made her job a little bit easier. If she had to begin commanding people, she could do so with a bit more confidence.
But for now, her focus would have to be on fighting and making sure the defenseless got out safely. On her right, she saw some axe-wielding men and she saw the villagers;
(( Will finish this later when calmer; basically, Alihi is fighting back and actually being decent at it. ))
———————————————— And I'm not ashamed to be... ...the person that I am today.

Nya? The tiger was picking him up. So strong~ Splash splash splash.
...Splash? Something clicked in the cat's mind.
SPLOOSH!
He was dropped in knee-deep water. He floundered around a bit, trying to find a good footing so that his head was above water. It took some effort, but while he flailed about, only one thing was in his mind.
Fear. After all, this seemed all too eerily familiar to that event. The sudden realization of 'self' and becoming something more than just a generic. The sudden tidal wave that nearly claimed his life that came shortly after the awakening.
Cats dislike water. Sunil? He was ******** terrified of it, especially large bodies of water.
He finally found some sturdy footing that wasn't mossy or slimy from the water (if they were rocks or something. I dunno what the lake floor is made of.) before he scurried his way back to shore.
Upon reaching dry land, Sunil just stood there, soaked from flailing about. He shook himself dry (hair going poof, but quickly settling) before he looked around, trembling. Where was that tiger? Gone, it seemed.
He crouched down low enough so that he could put his front paws on the top of his head. The water. The WATER. It was so close to that traumatic experience he had so long ago. If people started scr--
Someone screamed. It seemed like bandits had found this town and were proceeding to attack. Sunil just lost it. There was some sort of cry from him. Despair, maybe? He then scampered off. But...if he was going to run off to try to calm down, why was he running towards town?
...It seems in his confused and traumatized state, Sunil lost all sense of direction. There was a chance that, with all the flailing the cat did, water got into his ears, which would definitely affect his hearing.

It only took a moment for Zeiss to realize that there was the sounds of fighting and screams off in the distance...in the direction of the village. So much for relaxation. Right now, he needed to get back and mount Rubley, so he could do his share of work, and help out.
So heading back to the lake, he dropped his prized fish in a bag, and then mounted Rubley, and started back for the village, with his Steel Lance in hand.
Getting to the village, Zeiss looked for the one that would be leading their troops, and only came up with a lone lancer on the ground, so he had Rubley get close to that lancer, and then said, "What can I do to help out the troops here?"

The man shrieked before the tiger's teeth sank into his neck. The others turned around, shocked. The tiger had came out of nowhere! One threw his torch at the beast, then went for his axe. If the torch didn't hit the tiger, it would hit a house and set it on fire. The others had torches as well, but instead of throwing them, they held them out to deter the beast from getting at them. But that didn't stop them from trying to chop at the tiger as well.
A dirty arrow with a rusted arrowhead was pulled back and sent flying towards the wyvern that had landed by the spearman. It came without warning, but the bow's lack of durability made the archer's accuracy lax.
Taking advantage of the distraction, two cloaked men jumped out at the lancer, daggers glinting from the sun. One came from behind, the other from the man's open side.
Drake pushed on further into the village, leaving a trail of bodies behind him. As he was about to lop off the head of a villager who had tripped, he was forced to quickly divert his blade in reaction to a flash of blue. Claws clinked against the flat side of the blade, which was then swung to push back the attacker. Drake gave one solid chuckle at the attempt of a sneak attack from an... intoxicated blue cat? The claws had tipped the trueblade off that whoever attacked him was one of Learania's shape shifters, but this one didn't even seem to realize where he was or what he was doing. "So it was just a fluke..."
At the very least, the beast-man's action had allowed the villager to escape death. Drake chuckled a few more times and shook his head. He had never fought a shape shifter and the idea of doing so made his sword arm jitter with urge to swing. This beast didn't look like a suitable challenge, but it could at least open up the strengths and weaknesses of other ones for in the future.
He took off, his blade's tip dragging across the ground before it was raised up. When he got close enough to the cat, he leaped into the air, then swung the massive weapon down as he descended. His sword was known to cause a dangerous area effect. The ground seemed to always shatter beneath it.
Too bad for the feline he wasn't all too coherent.

After jerking the bandit's neck and heard the loud snap, Rajin let go before he saw something bright was heading toward him. The torch smacked against the tiger's neck and fell to the ground, causing the tiger to let out a loud hiss. Although the force of the torch was more of a light punch and the fire didn't spread too quickly, it stunned the tiger quite badly. Man, it felt like he was stung by a hive of bees.
Rajin pawed the torch away from him. When he saw the brigades holding the torches at him, he gave the bandits a low snarl. Although the fire from the torches and the burning buildings were away from him, he could still feel the heat roasting him well. Damn these bastards. It looked like they figured out his weakness. Great, if only he had someone to watch his back. How the hell was he going to tear these bastards if they used torches against him? Well, staying away from them wasn't going to work. These bandits knew he was going after them and it would be useless for them to run away from him. It looked like they were in a stalemate situation. Now how the hell could he turn the favor to his?
The tiger eyed on the bandits, one by one, until his eyes fell onto the one who didn't carry the torch. Suddenly, an idea came to his mind. Bingo!
Rajin sprinted toward the said bandit. If the others planned to attack him while he was running, he'd dodge them to avoid the fire. As he came close to the bandit, he back-stepped his pace to avoid the axe being swung down at him and pounced. But instead of sinking his teeth into the bandit's neck, he used his front paws to shove the b*****d toward the other bandits. If this worked, it may cause the bandits to loose their balance and maybe drop the torches. Maybe two or three bandits would be shoved, but damn, it would be great if it caused some domino effect. That way, he didn't need to deal with the fire.

In the cat's berserked frenzy (thanks to the trauma of being dropped in the lake and the events that had happened in the past that sparked the trauma in the first place), Sunil not only had no idea where he was going, but he was bumping into a lot of things: buildings, people (on both sides), cabbage carts...you name it. And as he ran, all sounds around him were muffled. The only thing he could hear was rustling sounds, caused by water entering his ears during his floundering.
Rustle rustle
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! The RUSTLING! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! he cried out in his mind.
He just bumped into something, and he was suddenly shoved aside, where he rolled and hit a post with his side. The cat climbed back up to his feet, ignoring the dull feeling of pain in his side as he shook his head fiercely. What did rustle rustle he collide rustle rustle with rustle? And where was he? He raised his head, unaware that Drake was standing behind him. Oh, he was in town? But it looked so blurry...
Sunil shook his head again and looked at the ground. Hm? A shadow? And it was growing larger and larger. In his confused state, he could only come up with one answer.
The shadow...was a tidal wave, aiming just for him. Hell, it even went this far into town just to get him!
Silent cries of despair went unheard as Sunil panicked once more while he scurried away from the shadow. He may have evaded the tidal wave (which was actually Drake and his sword), but he was probably still within range of the area effect of the assault.((Meh post is meh.))

Meanwhile, down a street not to far from where Sunil was currently, a man cried out in despair.
"My Cabbages!" He wailed as he fell to his knees, mere moments beforehand he'd been peddling his wares with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. Then a bunch of bandits chased away his customers, he'd been in the process of hightailing it himself when a large blue beast rammed into the side of his cart (which he couldn't bare to leave behind) and knocked it over, spilling his lovely cabbages in the street which would present a slipping hazard to anyone who came this way. "Why! Why?!" He questioned the sky.
With nothing else to do now, the Cabbage Man hightailed his a** out of town. After the incident in Eyris he was debating leaving Learania for greener pastures, maybe the plains. There was a demand for cabbage in Aldriana he'd heard, a nice quiet place the plains were.

"You're so slow! Pick up the pace, shall we!"
"I'm tryin' 's hard as I can, lady!"
They had been well occupied with the battle beforehand, swallowed up in the task of healing whomever possible that they were often not seen in actual combat. The army had retreated with all due haste, but this wagon did not. Why was that? Well, Ash had insisted on a detour for the village that ended up being the long way. It was only now did the wagon clatter in from the side of the battle.
Ash had done what she could for the generic soldiers. They were sure to get in a tussle and demand more relief for their wounds, but she had decided to hurry on into the heart of the conflict. Her eyes settled immediately for a troubled laguz flailing about.
A tome bound in golden leather flashed underneath her sleeve. With one quick incantation, the supposed fortune-teller flung her hand outward and called light down upon Drake, who had launched himself at the poor creature. She regarded the cat with only one moment of sympathy before hardening her gaze.
"Ah, clumsy, clumsy!" she fussed, raising her hand and brandishing it thoughtlessly. Her tome had been replaced by what must have been a staff, although what nature of staff it was did not appear to be very distinct. It may well have been a Heal staff or a Hammerne.
But the light that bathed Sunil had the grounding properties of Restore. An oddly strong one.
Well, let us see if that does not lift the shadows on his mind. "Straighten your horse, sir, how do you expect me to be useful if you continue to totter and lurch like this!"
"I'm tryin', I am! Give me a break, won't ya?!"

It didn't take long before Zeiss was attacked by enemy units. A dull arrow shot towards him...thankfully it was inaccurate, so it flew close by his ear, but doing nothing.
So while Zeiss was waiting for Ephraim to give him an answer to what he should do to help out, two cloaked enemies came forward and from behind at Ephraim, so Zeiss focused on taking care of one of them to help out his ally.
So between the two that were going at Ephraim, the best choice was the one going at his back. A quick move over Ephraim, and dropping behind the cloaked figure, Zeiss then thrusted his lance at the back of the one attacking Ephraim from behind, striking the arm with the dagger glinting in the sunlight. "I've got your back."

Let the moonlight sign post shine through the clouds to me ____and show me which road to take ______No matter how close to breaking I am today.... This was getting too ridiculous. Will it ever end!? No matter how many were fought off they just. keep. coming. Ephraim was getting tired. End this already! Another bandit came at him in a veyr reckless way. Ephraim reached up to the snaps on his cloak and tore it off, throwing it over the foolish man's head. He ducked, ramming the end of his spear against his opponent's torso and quickly flipped him so he landed a little behind him but enough for the lancer to stab him in the neck while on the ground. It wasn't a pretty sight he wanted to see, not that he could with the cloak he once worn was slowly soaking in blood.
Ephraim looked up as he noticed something shine through one of the broken windows and immedietly turned around. With quick timing, the lancer was able to block the side attack with a slight spark, however, that left his front wide open for an attack. His eyes widened, and just when he was about to curse out loud, a strong gust of wind came and followed by it was a loud roar from a creature Ephraim knew all too well, a wyvern. He socked the small bandit in the face then grabbed him by the shirt and tossed him over his shoulder into a pile of crates that were already decaying from the fire.
He hadn't realized the wyvern rider was near him until now, too focused on getting some of the civilians out of the area had consumed his mind he hadn't thought of having assistant till now. Ephraim looked up "You have my thanks..for now..just help me fend off these bandits so the villagers can get to safety" he murmured under his breath, but it was audiable for the rider to hear.
He looked at his spear for a moment, noticing cracks starting to form around the shaft and the spear head. Doesn't look like it will last much longer if this whole charade keeps up. s**t, Ephraim hadn't anticipated this battle to follow them to this very village. If he hadn't lost his original spear during that debris back in Pentheus.....s**t...s**t s**t s**t...Dammit, this was just perfect wasn't it. How long the short spear would last, Ephraim didn't know..but he prayed it was enough......god forbid he be weaponless again.
