I keep necromancing the threads.. *Looks out for some one zapping her*
Psh, we don't mind. I mean, it's kind of funny because you're necroing stuff from waaaay back, and they aren't even the major long threads, but there's not any other activity here in the main forum. sweatdrop So anything to get people talking!
ninja I still feel nervous.
Don't feel nervous! Seriously. I don't think anyone will complain.

I mean, this is something people will keep saying; if you're a gay man, you're never going to have to deal with pregnancy, so you don't get a say!

And there are good answers in here.

Your opinion means just as much as anyone else's, so if you see something you want to comment on, no one's going to object to hearing it.
Thank you Limey. If the argument was merely about having to carry a baby and what it had to do with bodily integrity a gay man would have less say and maybe none. How ever that is not the case. A person’s life is at stake no matter if you are gay or straight or anything else. Thus his point is valid.

Why should a gay person have any say? The same reason a man should have a say. The same reason a woman should have say, for crying out loud! It's not the woman's life being approached as a "choice," is it? The choice should really be the child's. What do you think they would choose?

If anyone uses this against you two words will win you.

"Ad Hominem." - then just move on with your argument.

What I've come to realize with this kind of bullshit, is that all they're doing is drawing attention from the issue-- it's not whether I should have a say, it's about me caring about the fact that abortion hurts people, in many ways, and I hate that.

It's not fair to discredit anyone's opinion on abortion based on their gender or sexuality-- otherwise, y'all lesbians can just be discredited in the abortion arena, too.

But I don't want that. No one does.

Hence, this guy was an a-hole.

Here's my thing... if only heterosexual females were allowed a vote on the issue, it would probably go for pro-life. Guys are usually more for abortion than girls. That's a generalization, of course, but if ANY side is anti-woman, it's theirs, not ours.

That's actually been my experience as well xd Seriously, if there's any side that can't afford to shove out everyone but the heterosexual females...oh wait, but we're supposed to buy the lie that pro-life women are the minority and that it's mostly evil misogynist men who are against abortion.

It just really angers me that people who are supposed to be progressive will deny other people a say because of their sexual orientation. It's flat out wrong. "You don't have a vested interest," is a lie, because everyone has a vested interest in doing what is right.

Slavery is between a slave and a slave owner. White northerners have nothing to do with it, so they should keep out of our issues. I mean, we have property on the line. Unless you're a slave owner, stay out of slave owner business.

Oh wait, wrong debate.
