Kagali felt very confused. first the mare told her that there were good kalonas and now she was saying that the normal soquili can be bad too. she stood up and looked at Fleur with her peircing blue eyes. she all of the sudden felt angry. she wasent sure why, but the concept of what they were talking about was confusing and hard for her to grasp. all of the sudden Kagali growled at the mare. "you arnt making any sense. why would you say that kalonas are bad if they are good. and if regulars are good, like you say, then how can there be bad ones too?" her face was pulled into a snarl. she could hear the beat of Fleurs heart. it was a quick sound, faint but there. she could see every little movement that the mare made. it was an odd feeling, like the mare was helpless and that Kagali was in power.

She did not react at first, staring at the filly with a blank expression; she wasn't shocked, surprised nor upset. She knew that as the adult, it was her job to be the one to be a source of information and well, be firm with the younger ones.
"Now, now," Fleurite raised an eye brow, moving her tail to curl up beside her body. Her voice remained soft and calm, but there was an authoritative tone behind it, "When you don't understand something, being upset will only make it harder to understand. Keeping a cool head is very important; being upset and frustrated will make your brain confused as you can't think properly..." She paused, finally giving Kagali a small, encouraging smile, "Now, take deep breaths and then sit back down again before I continue with my explanation, Kagali."

Kagali huffed and then sat down. the anger was gone just as quick as it had come. she was almost embarrassed by the little outburst. she blushed and looked at the ground. "im sorry, im ready to listen now."

"Good." Fleurite simply replied with a hint of a smile, pleased that Kagali calmed herself down so quickly, "Everyone is different, even twins or siblings that grow up together end up with different personalities as adults due to different experiences." She paused, wondering if this might be too difficult for a young filly to digest; after all, the concept of 'growing up' is quite foreign to most foals.
"Hm... Well, you said you have a brother. I'm sure that he's different from you, right? Not only appearance-wise, but how he thinks and acts?" She asked with a nod, "So like-wise for every Soquili out there, everyone is different. The type of a Soquili will affect how he or she grows up as well - for example, a Kalona might be raised to be mean because most Kalonas take fighting and being mean as a good thing. Similarly, a regular Soquili might be raised to be nice and kind because to them, those are the most important...."
She then paused again as her voice faded away, tiling her head slightly as she chuckled, "Kagali, did you understand so far?"

Kagali had unconsiously begun to tilt her head. this was all so hard to grasp. she felt like there was a string at the edge of her mind and if she could just hold onto it things would make sense, but the string was very thin and was difficult for her to hold onto. she understood what Fleur had said about everyone acting differently, but the whole kalona vs regular concept was beyond her. she wanted to understand, but at the same time she wanted to just forget about it and move onto a more entertaining topic.
"i get some of it, but other parts,like the kalona thing i still dont get. are you saying that a personality is based on how someone it raised?" she bit her lip and shook her head. "like if your parents are good then you will be good?"

"Yes, something like that," Fleurite allowed a soft chuckle to escape her lips before smiling, observing the filly for a second before shaking her head lightly, "I'm sure you'll understand when you're older... For now, I believe that as a foal, you should have fun and enjoy yourself. Its your right!"
With that sentence, she stood up, shaking out her mane and spreading her wings. While sitting under the shade was comfortable, so was standing up and getting a good stretch after sitting down for a prolonged period of time. Looking down at Kagali, she smiled again, "Why don't we go for a drink? I should be heading back soon, and I expect you to have things you want to do before night time?"
She trotted towards the sound of running water, gesturing for the filly to follow her with a quick nod, stopping a short distance away to wait for her.

Kagali bounded after Fleur, her hooves hardly making a sound on the soft earth. water sounded nice. she followed Fleur to the river thinking about all the things she had learned. she liked the thought of being able to manipulate how children grow. she guessed through her own experiences with her parents that it was a lead by example kind of thing. from watching her father she knew how to be gentile, but ferocious at the same time. from watching her mother she saw how to be kind and understanding. Kagali thought about all the things you could learn from watching others. today from this winged mare she saw how to be sad. she also learned about story telling and how the mare used different voices to make the story interesting. she stored this knowledge in the back of her mind for a later date when she may need it. she looked up the the mare's wings. they looked so thin, so fragile. Kagali got the thought of how easy it would be to tear them off, but quickly shook it from her mind. "um, can you fly with your wings, they look to thin."

As they neared the stream, the smell of water made her realize how thirsty she really was. At the foal's question, she shook her head, "Oh! No, I can't, unfortunately... The flutter blood in me is rather diluted, so I can't even shrink like most flutters can in order to fly using their thin wings! My father is a uni-flutter, while my mother is a unicorn... I guess that makes me a uni-uni-flutter?" She giggled, "Since I'm more unicorn than flutter, I can't do a lot of the things pure flutters can."
Her eyes rolled up, directing the foal's attention to the single spiral horn protruding from her forehead before turning her head to gesture to her unicorn tail - traits which belong on a unicorn.
"See what I mean?" She chuckled; she had often lamented her lack of ability to fly when she was a foal, envious of those with feathered wings who were able to soar high in the sky like a bird. However, now that she was an adult, it doesn't bother her as much although her desire to see things from a bird's eye view had not changed.
After some walking, they finally reached the river and Fleurite sped up. At the edge, she dipped her maw into the water, lapping up water happily, sighing happily as the cool water rushed down her throat. Turning to Kagali, she grinned, "Its important to keep yourself hydrated in this hot weather!"
{Shall we end this in the next few posts? x3}

[way ahead of ya]
Kagali ran to the waters edge and drank. the cool water was a welcome gift in this heat. she drank until satisfied and then turned and watched the mare drink. "i know i wish i could fly. my dad can but no one else in my family can." she looked around. her surroundings were beginning to come into an intensely sharp focus. the kind of focus that lets a kalona spot prey from great distances. Dusk was beginning to fall. it was at this time that Kagali could see best, in the start and finish of a day.
she sighed and began to slowly back away from the mare. "did you know that i can see in the dark?" with that Kagali dashed into the woods on silent hooves. she was headed home for her parents would be mad that she was so late. she hoped the nice mare would understand. Kagali was never very good at good byes.
she ran and ran until she reached the edge of her home. her mother was curled around her brother who was asleep already. there her father stood. his blue eyes matching hers. she silently lay next to her brother. her father came and joined them. she could feel a low growl coming from him. her lateness was not going to be forgotten this time.

"Good bye, Kagali," She whispered and smiled after the filly left; she had almost missed it, but she sensed a sort of urgency from her just as she backed away... What an adorable way of saying goodbye! Fleurite giggled before looking up at the slowly darkening sky - it might be night time soon, but it was still warm.
Perhaps its time for her to head home too.
She took another quick sip of water before turning, trotting back into the forest, humming a soft tune as she did to stop herself from being too nervous from being alone in the dark; Kagali was an interest foal... Maybe she'll see her again someday.
{Thanks for the RP!}
