Evadne was silent a moment, smiling softly as she watched the sunlight shimmer through his wet, golden hair. The single bright red streak was stuck to his cheek, coiled slightly. "Even better is when you spend it with someone." She said finally.
Reluctantly, she let go of his hand an dove beneath the surface, splashing as she went. She came up, grinning a few feet away.

Sardar grinned a bit, having a thought. But before he could act on that thought, she had ducked underwater and swam a ways away. Of course, he did what anyone else would do and followed her. Popping up next to her, he splashed her playfully while he was laughing. "You're pretty quick."

Evadne gasped as she got a face full of water, half sputtering, half laughing as she wiped the droplets from her face. "Not quick enough apparently!" She chuckled softly and gently splashed him back. She grinned back as she slowly moved her limbs, keeping herself afloat.

Sardar laughed, doggy paddling to keep up next to her. "You have good form and speed, even though I could catch up to you like that." His blond hair was plastered to his head from the water, the little crimson streak turning to a darker red from being wet. His red eyes were bright from enjoyment. "I haven't had so much fun in a long time..."

"That comes from plenty of practice out-swimming my brothers." She winked, then added, "You're not such a bad swimmer yourself."
Evadne's light brown hair floated freely in the water around her shoulders, her own turquoise streak of color having flopped in front of her eye. She smiled in quiet delight as she started to swim in a lazy half-circle around him. "I'm happy for that; you shouldn't go for too long without having a little fun. It's not healthy." She added matter-of-factly.

Sardar grinned, returning her wink with one of his own. "Outswimming your brothers?" Man, she sure was pretty. All of his other thoughts just seemed to fade away whenever he watched her. "I understand what it's like to not have fun for a long while." He laughed softly, "That's what happened to my voice... But that is past now." Something wanted to be close to her.

"Mhmm. I'm the oldest of seven." Eva clarified with a sheepish smile.
As he grinned and winked, she felt a small flutter in her chest and a faint warmth color her cheeks. Slowly, she paddled closer, taking in each detail of his face with her turquoise eyes. "While it's important to enjoy your life, you shouldn't forget the past. Even if it was dark, especially if it was dark, it makes the present all the more bright."

"Oh wow, seven? I can't even imagine. It's just me and Tacita and I don't know which of us is older," he laughed a little.
He noticed the soft blush when it came to her cheeks and it made him smile a little more. Cute. "Right now seems rather bright if you ask me..." He watched her come closer, his chest feeling warm. Everything was changing so quickly... He had with Tacita, then he spoke and was left alone, and now he was learning he could do fairly well on his own. And now he had a friend, if not something more...

As her eyes met his, for once Evadne didn't know what to say, which might have been a good thing. The silence between them was anything but empty, any more words would have been superfluous. As the smile dancing across his lips grew just the slightest bit, she had the sudden impulse to plant a kiss... right there at the corner... but she didn't.
Remembering Tacita and everything Sardar had gone through recently, she restrained herself. She knew that things like that took time to heal and she didn't want to act too quickly for him. Instead she reached for his hand beneath the water and tugged lightly, gently pulling him along as she swam aimlessly about. Smiling softly, she struck up the conversation again, "So, tell me a little more about yourself, Sardar. If you don't mind my prying." she quickly added with a sheepish grin.

Sardar liked the feeling of her hand in his. He hadn't held anyone but Tacita's hand in a very long time, and even then they didn't hold hands often... He had a happy grin on his face, willingly letting her lead the way.
He blinked, surprised by her question. "I was a hunter for our pack. Or, I was in training to be one. But.. my father got my mother killed.. We left after that.. we were teens then. That's why I stopped talking." He smiled a little, just a tiny bit of sadness in his eyes. "But it doesn't hurt anymore."

"I'm sorry... but I'm glad it doesn't hurt anymore." Eva smiled softly as listened to his story; she watched the sorrow grow in his eyes, but the smile remained. For the second time, she paddled closer, entranced by his eyes. Using her free hand, she reached up and brushed a few wet strands of hair out of his face. "I'm glad you can smile now."

"It was a very long time ago..." Sardar watched her come closer. He instinctively closed the eye closest to her hand when she moved his hair. "I'm glad I can, too." He smiled meekly down at her, looking into her eyes. "Eva... May I kiss you?" He wouldn't if she didn't want him to. But he hoped she would...

Eva's surprise registered on her face and for a moment all she did was blink, slightly shocked. Then, the meaning of his words penetrated the happy daze that had clouded her mind and she smiled blissfully, "Yes." Her cheeks warmed as she drew closer to him, "Yes you may..."

Sardar smiled, leaning down to give her a gentle kiss and loosely wrapped his arms around her. His grey ears flicked back happily and he closed his eyes, their first kiss not lasting long but being very sweet and sending a new warmth all through his body. When he grinned this time, it was big and maybe even a little goofy. His face was hot, so he knew he was blushing. Not that he cared. "Thank you..."

One of her arms wrapped around him and the other hand gently brushed the back of his neck. The kiss, though short was warm and tender and... perfect. Evadne felt a swarm of butterflies rise up within her, leaving a pleasant warmth in their wake. Her smile was a little dazed, as though she were seeing stars, "No... thank you."
She caught sight of his flickering ears and giggled, knowing her own ears were mirroring the happy trembling. Eva reached up a hand and slowly ran her fingers along the soft grey length of one flickering ear.
