Odi smiled meekly at her when she questioned his looks. "I'm fine..." He said laying down beside her and putting his head besides her. "I'm just happy the Shadow..." He paused mid sentence as the deal struck him again. He looked at her and knew it was worth it.

Ara moved her head up a bit so that it was pressed against Odi's neck. She was quite content to just lay there for now. Nearly dying took a lot out of you. It didn't stop her from asking questions though.
"Shadow? You mean that weird white snake thing that vanished?"
((Is he not allowed to say it or he just doesn't want to?))

He laid their enjoying it, his joints started to hurt more and more. As he heard her question he smiled at her, " Yes...I made a trade with the shadow beast for your life." He said gingerly as he laid against against her.

((Odi's not going to end up nearly dying too, is he XD?))
Ara looked over at Odi, a little startled. On their way back from the beach he had told her a bit more about the tribe structure and their beliefs. So she was able to understand that what Odi had asked for was serious.
She opened her mouth, about to ask what he had offered in return for her life, but thought better of it. Now wasn't the time.
Ara decided on another question. "You going to be okay?"

He gave her a gentle lick at her question if he was okay. He laughed a little as he looked at her, "Yeah, don't worry about me." He said as he shifted his legs to get pressure off them.

Ara licked one of Odi's paws that lay near her. "You didn't get hurt trying to help me, did you," she asked worriedly.

"...No I'm fine." He said silently as he laid against her. He sighed, he might as well tell her the truth now before it came up later. "Well not fully...the trade I made with it was that..." He trailed off for a moment as he looked at her.
"I traded your life for my first kit." He said watching to see her reaction. He just hoped she wasn't mad at him.

Ara just laid there for a moment, silent, while the implications went through her head. It stunned her a little that Odi would even consider doing something like that.
"When you say trade your first kit for my life, what exactly does that mean?"

Odi frowned and looked away as the thought went through his head. He didn't know did he either made the kits life a living hell or a way to have so much power.
"Life as in the Shadow Beast can do what ever he wants with it...I didn't say it's life, I just said it. Still equivalent exchange..." he said a note of sadness in his voice. Odi could of easily said he wasn't going to ever have kits but if that was the case the shadow beast wasn't going to accpet it if it didn't know he was. "Look...it's something you don't need to worry about. It's my sin...sin...oh god Sin!" He said suddenly remembering he had left his scent closer then he should of. "...I'll lie." He said simply as he closed his eyes, Sin had so much power now. Before it would of been a fair fight now...his power still wouldn't be like Sin's.

"It's bad that I'm here right now, isn't it," Ara asked. She hadn't really been paying close attention to how far into the Cruor territory she was wandering. In fact she hadn't even been sure she was still in Cruor land, she had been so out of it. When your biggest challenge is standing, direction takes second place.
There was also the matter of the kit..... Ara had had time to think on it. As far as she knew Odi was unmated, and uninterested in any of the females in his tribe so far. And she knew she found him attractive in several ways. So it seemed likely..... "It's probably going to be one of ours, isn't it," she asked, with no hint at subtly.

"...Not any more. Shadow Beast let you live, your probably a honorary member." He said giving a dry laugh at the idea. She being in a tribe full of multiple killers that would accept her as their own.
Odi eyes halfway closed as he looked at the ground. It was just so sickly convenient for the Shadow Beast. Their were no kits in the tribe he knew of expect whatever Sin was protecting. Odi was the only one with a love interest and a special kit would be useful to the shadow beast. He looked at her frowning, "It'll be our kit till the BCR breaks...after that we deny it's ours. It's for the best...for all of us." He said feeling like a traitor. "We keep it to ourselves that I did that. Sin would probably try to kill me or force you to join." he said looking back at her face, his was scrunch up with pain that he didn't know he felt.

Ara looked at Odi a little sadly. She really did love him, but she also understood how he felt about his tribe. There was no way he would leave, or even that Sin would let him. And, as he said, Sin probably wouldn't hesitate to force her to join if he ever learned what happened.
"How are you going to keep this a secret from him? Couldn't the Shadow Beast tell," she asked, worried for him. Ara curled up a little to better fit her body against his, head again resting back at his neck.

As he felt her curled around him he knew he had made the right choice. Even it hurt like this, it was the right choice. He couldn't of let her died but maybe if he had of waited for his body to build an immunity...
"Why would he tell? Where all his children. What parent wants to see his children fight among with each other? Besides, if he was going to tell I would expect Sin would of found us a lot earlier." He said looking at the only shadow near them, it was from a lone tree. He curled around her tighter, between the physical effects of the venom and the mental aspect of his choice he felt horrible.

"He might not tell to tell. There would have to be an explanation about the baby." She paused. "I guess I'm just worried. I don't want you to get in trouble, though I suppose the baby would be safe."
Not that Ara was thrilled with that either. To have your life decided for you before you were even more? It was the main reason she didn't consider joining Cruor to be with Odi. Maybe she would one day, but right now she just loved living free too much.
At the moment she couldn't bring herself to worry over it too much though. She was still a little tired, and Odi's warmth just made her that much sleepier.

"I'll lie. Say I found the kit, rub some other scent on it. I'll figure out something..." He said silently. "I care about myself, just you. Don't worry about it, we'll deal with it if it happens." He said silenlty, he was just trying to reassure her.
As he laid their he started to drift off when he heard a tiwg snap and his head shot up. "Who's their?" He order quickly, using his own body to block Ara. He glared until he saw who it was and was taken aback. "Mom..."
Rei walked silently through the lend. She could smell the diffrent foxes here, all starting to get the same scent but not quite their yet. As she finally found the one she wanted it led to her son. "Odi." She said her voice emotionless but she felt a tiny flame in her like she had every time she saw him.
It didn't take her long to realize he was sick. "What did you get into now." She said silenlty walking closer then seeing Ara. "..." She watched Ara with a emotionless face.
