As time went by, a couple times he found himself wandering to the jungle edge. He admired that female in a way. She was so strong, she had something to live for it seemed. And for the first time, he met someone that didnt seem to be beat down by some problem or another.
He didnt go back right away, in fact it may have been weeks, he was never good with time. For all the times he stopped at the jungle's edge, he finally took a deep breath, summoned up the courage and started to just walk further in. His ears moved a bit, and in a brief moment he started to laugh at himself. How egotistical was he, that he thought she would even know or care the second he came into her lands? Gods he felt like he was a stupid young stallion with nothing about him other than pride.

She had the same type of random wanderings and thoughts that he did. There was something about him that made her more... calm. She knew well what he was, and she sensed his 'domain' easily, but it was something deeper than that.
Of course, she would never ever admit it to another, not that she ever hung around others. Maybe it was just that she wouldn't admit it to herself. Although they had different preferences of travel, she in the air, and he on the ground despite his wings, she kept an eye out for him during her patrols. There was always a small inkling of hope that she would see him. But every time those thoughts came to her mind, she slammed them back down. She hated feeling this way, she considered it a weakness. But she couldnt help but to enjoy the whimsical feeling it gave her. A guilty pleasure.

Almost like he was drawn to her, he found her easily by a waterfall. Around her everything seemed to be so alive, so full. It wasnt anything like the ruins he had seen before. Everything was so... perfect. Massive buildings and aztec temples surrounded the waterfalls. Beautiful lush gardens and farm fields.
As he drew closer, his ears moved a bit. He hovered there, watching her, watching the scene around him, and after a moment his heart sank. He could tell this was her doing. These were her own powers. It wasnt real, tho gods it looked and felt that way. If this was just her, then everything around must have been gone, been destroyed or wilted away with time.
He was unsure now, if he should stop by, it seemed more sad the more he thought about it. That maybe there were more bad memories here, than he could even think of.

Xochi had easily caught sight of him, even if she didnt show it right off. He was too big and bright to miss. The scenery around here was just a fragment of her abilities, and to her, it was never sad. These were images that were taken from other parts in the jungle, fully alive and well. It allowed her to keep an eye on them without really going to the location itself.
After she was done seeing what she was out to check on, she finally lifted her head to the sky and arched a brow, calling out to him quite bluntly, as was her nature.
"Are you just going to hover there all day, or are you going to come down here and actually grace me with your presence?" Her tone was firm, but that wasnt unusual for her. Even when she liked someone.

Had he not been one with normally such a laid back demeanor, he might have been offended at her words. For some reason, however, he was actually happy to hear them. He smiled a bit, nodded then came down easily, his landing made no sound despite his weight.
"I just didnt want to intrude, you seemed to be deep in thought, or at least enjoying your moments here," he offered.
He looked around, the scenes around them were even more beautiful close up. He thought for a moment to add his own color into them, but he didnt want to be so presumptuous and possibly be overstepping his bounds.

She could respect his honest words. Something she liked about him, was that he seemed to have a genuine respect for her. It wasnt out of fear like so many others once she had run into them a first time, nor was in a pain in her a** like so many that chose to be defiant.
"Ah, but I have all the time in the world to do what I am doing now. Its not often I get decent visitors," she nodded. "So to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"
Her demeanor, tho still strong, was eased around him. It wasnt anything she gave conscious thought to, but it was something he picked up, and was happy that she seemed more comfortable around him and that it wasnt a 'fluke' the first time they met.

He was a little relieved that she seemed to welcome him with such open arms and he nodded, not even thinking about arguing with her. "As you wish," his voice was soft still, but easily showed his strength.
There was something about this mare, something calming to his soul. Maybe it was because she could make things so beautiful, but yet was so resolute, had so much conviction about who she was, and what her goals were. His mind trailed off a bit, maybe he was putting too much thought into it, like he often did.

She arched a brow as he hadn't exactly answered her question, but for the moment she let it go. She looked back out over the jungle valley and her eyes closed a bit as she lifted her muzzle to the soft breeze. Her ears moved at the sounds of her jewelery, at the rushing river below, at the rustle of the trees.
"I know you..." she almost whispered, a soft smile curling on her lips. "You suffer a lot..."
It wasnt that she was happy that he did, nor did she know exactly about it, but she was certainly at peace.

He blinked a bit at his words, almost as if someone had pulled him sharply back into a reality he had long forgotten he was in. He looked to her, quiet, although not surprised she could tell such a thing. He finally nodded but gave a small, honest shrug.
"Im better now... than I was before. Im learning..." he spoke quite simply as if they had had this conversation before.

She honestly had no idea exactly to what it was that he was referring to, tho she nodded as if she did. Not because of pride, but more because it already seemed like a touchy subject so she didnt want to make matters uncomfortable. She actually cared about what this one thought or even felt.
"Im sorry..." she corrected herself. She didnt elaborate, she didnt want to make a bigger fool of herself. Come to think of it, the words that slipped from her mouth to even start this branch of the conversation were not even thought out. Really, she was just soaking in the feelings that she got from him, almost as if it were a revelation... she stopped. She was getting too deep into this, and that would leave her vulnerable, leave her open. Taking a deep breath she straightened and cleared her throat a bit.

Req nodded a bit at her apology, but what came next, her reaction to it, made him smile to himself. He could tell all of the thoughts that ran through her mind, he could see her inner struggles for one reason or another. If only because he had them so many times himself. A soft, almost amused smile curved his lips as he looked down to her, watching her.

Noticing his silence she finally looked up, and easily caught what she figured was a smirk. Her protective nature coming back again as her eyes narrowed a bit, ears almost docking.
"What are you smiling at?" she scorned.

His look never changed once. It was as if he didnt even see her scornful look at all. His head lowered a bit, and his eyes fixed firmly on hers, those his were still very gentle.
"You're beautiful..." he almost whispered.

"I... what?" she asked off guard. So tempted to snap at him as if his words would just make everything better. She found herself blushing so darkly. And rather than snap at him, she just found herself shifting to bury her head into his neck, ears docking as she whispered back faintly.
"Thank you..."
