Comrade Rob Okay, does anyone the guild care that I changed the forum to public? If you cant hear me through all this troll flooding please feel free to PM me with any concerns.
This is disingenuous to say the least. The problem is that there was no discussion and that you did this unilaterally and without even informing everyone. Your later excuse notwithstanding, it has the halmark of secrecy about it.
Boots i dont have a problem with a public guild.. it does need more activity... we just will have to be vigilant to make sure said activity is the proper kind... IE instant diciplinary actions agianst trolls. and by trolls i do not mean trotskyists... or new kids in dissagreement with grach/lenin...
The issue that making the guild public won't see more activity without an active propaganda campaign, such as that conducted by Comrade Rob, and to a lesser extent myself, back in 2008. With that new activity due to greater awareness, however, will come trolls. Both of the ordinary type, and the more disciplined opponents from the majr forums. The leadership of the guild will then be under huge pressure to not delete all troll posts because to do so would appear intollerant and all that wishy-washy bourgeois s**t. With those huge amounts of such posts, the standard for deletion will be constantly lowered until the place has aught but the reputation of communism and its name. An election or two later and even that will be dispensed with. Of course it is possible that the opposite could occure, and the Stalinist leadership would be compelled to undergo industrialisation and collectivisation make the guild private again in a similarly arbitrary manner to this action.
Miza I'd only agree with opening it if the mods promise to keep a watchful eye on the guild everyday. |

SoViEtTaNkT34 Comrade Rob I set the guild to public because I thought it would make us appear in the guild listing because we weren't showing up for some reason. When it didn't work I just didn't change it back because I wasn't sure what it actually did. The problem has been fixed and we can all go back to being inactive. 2nd *goes back to inactive* Ill be off my 2nd job soon so ill be on more often

I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about how there was no prior discussion, and how there was no subsequent notification, and then rather than give an explanation when it was brought up, you declared it to be your doing and asked 'is there a problem' as if simply posing your authority is enough to make it go away. In that light, your subsequent claim to have done it without knowledge of what it meant is rather... hollow. |
