Hazeline watched as Aphismet left the kitchen to return a moment later with a photo album which he placed onto the kitchen counter. Leaning over the counter flipped the album open, Hazeline chuckled at the photos depicting a frei-Rivener. “He certainly looks different but not much younger in terms of physical appearances,” commented Hazeline as she viewed the photos showing the planetarium, the beach and a hotel with the word ‘Gambino’ on its sign. “He looks rather matured as a Frei,”

It was then that the door leading into the house was kicked open rather roughly. Startled, Hazeline looked up in time to see a rather surly youth storm into the kitchen with his Sigel floating cheekily in through the walls. Was this the other Sigel Aphi had mentioned? If so, the young boy would be Isi. Hazeline momentarily winced at the youth’s choice of words but that was immediately put aside as the green-hued raevan approached her, speaking in tongues of a time long gone. Inwardly, Hazeline was tempted to take a couple of steps back from the red-eyed raevan but thought better of it. Xiu got insulted if someone backed away from him and who knew how the other raevans would take it? Standing her ground, Hazaeline gave Eiry a polite nod. “Pleased to meet you, I’m Hazeline and a Raevan owner. My charge, he’s…somewhere…,” said Hazeline with some surprise. Hadn’t Xiu and Rivener been floating just beyond the kitchen a moment ago? “With Rivener probably,” said Hazeline after some thought. “He’d be delighted to see you I don’t doubt,”

Now that introductions to the excited Raevan were over, Hazeline had time to observe the youth. He seemed sheepish now that there was a visitor there and that awkwardness was…oddly charming in an adorable sort of way. Holding out her hand, Hazeline smiled “Good to see you too, Isi,:

Xiu wasn’t too sure he’d enjoy meeting ghosts given past experiences with them but currently, the white raevan couldn’t feel anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps these ghosts were peaceful ghosts and the house, despite its age, was well lived in. It did not have that musty, dusty, stale feeling the antique shop had. Folding his wings neatly, Xiu followed Rivener up the stairs and into the painting room. It had a spacious feel to it and was definitely a well lighted room. Rivener had immediately floated over to a cabinet and after some rummaging, emerged with some of the paintings he had done. Taking the paintings, Xiu was impressed. So the Scorpion had an artistic side as well!

The backyard and park scene was pretty and…had a nostalgic feel to them. Xiu pointed to the painting of the backyard and raised his eyebrows questioningly. Where had Rivener got this scene from?

Aphi winced at the grumbling the instant Isikoro walked in. It was always like this, but the boy's splutter was usually only a bark: it held no real bite. But to a stranger, would it be as harmless-sounding as it now was to Aphismet's ears? The chef watched Hazeline carefully, hoping to intercede if she looked upset...

But she didn't. Even Isi's slip-up of "********!" didn't earn more than a wince, nor did Eiry's Shakespearean nonsense. Hazeline took it all with a smile, introducing herself first to Eiry and then to Isi. Aphi sighed and shook his head at Isi when the boy appeared in the door, lips tight. Language! he silently berated.

"Yes, this is my little brother Isikoro and his Raevan Eiry. Eiry, I think Riv and Xiu must be visiting the house, so feel free to look for them if you like. Isi, come sit, would you?" The chef couldn't help the affectionate smirk he sent the younger Delaran, and as soon as Isikoro was within reach Aphi's hand dished out his usual hair-ruffling greeting. "Where you learned to swear so much I'll never know. Not from ME, I know that much! Does Alex swear like that? Sorry about that, by the way, Hazeline."

Rivener puffed out slightly with pride. He was picky about who knew he painted, not like his photography hobby. THAT was common knowledge, or so he thought. But the paintings, those always remained in this room and weren't discussed outside. Riv was by no means a pro, but he'd improved so much from his beginnings with a brush that he couldn't help the shine of happiness when Xiu seemed impressed.

Xiu pointed to the painting of the backyard with questioning eyes, and Rivener's practice at deciphering Roux's cryptic words and Eiry's old-time speech came to the rescue, revealing Xiu's meaning right away: Where did you see this?

"Here, come look," Riv said, taking the painting gently from Xiu and floating it over to a west-facing window. Most of the walls here were windows, allowing an unobstructed view of outside and wonderful sunlight almost day-long. Riv placed the painting on the sill and pointed beyond it. "See? It's our backyard, right out there. I really like that big tree, I painted it quite a few times already."

Standing with his cheeks burning hot underneath the familiar rustle of Aphismet's hand, Isi glanced balefully out from underneath his messy bangs of grey and brown. He knew very well that language was something he had to work on, but he always seemed to forget the rule as soon as he left Aphismet's presence. Admittedly, he hadn't gotten very far with the endeavor.

"Sorry, Aphismet," Isi said in polite reply, his mouth turning into a tight frown as the hair-rustling momentarily intensified, "I learned it way before I ever met you and it's kind of stuck. Big language for little guys like me with crutches is a big help when there's not a big tough cook like you tottering around. And Alex only swears when she's real angry, so don't think it was her."

Once he was able to shake his head free from Aphismet's affectionate grip, Isi forced his face into an apologetic grin, giving their guest his best 'I'm just an innocent little brother' face. "Sorry you had to hear that, Miss Hazeline, I have a mouth that would make even a sailor blush," then, for a split second, Isi lost his cool and a familiar scowl returned to his face, "Eiry, give the lady some breathing room, would you! She's not in 10 case font, jeez. I thought you would've learned some manners by the time you were a Sigel!"

Eiry, with a grin that could reflect the light of the moon, drifted away from his close inspection of Hazeline. She had twitched when they first entered, but now that they were in her presence she had hardly moved a muscle. It was almost as if her stillness and complacency was beginning him to inch steadily more and more and more and more closer until he was barely a hair's breadth away from her. All the meanwhile, he kept on his face, an eerie unchanging all teeth smile, meeting her charge of placidity.

It was before he could mutter a scary sound that Aphismet reinforced the fact that there was another raevan in the house. Leaning back from Hazeline about the same moment that Isi began to berate him, Eiry's face swiftly flipped from creepy to absolute joy, "Well, well!" he piped, turning back to Hazeline and taking her grip with his cold cold hands, "Well met, well met! Such questions I could pester you with, but such matters will be spoken by my young guardian instead! I dare not stay longer in a presence as fair as yours, but drift instead up through the floors!"

And with a bout of barely contained giggles, Eiry bolted up into the ceiling, the last thing of him being the snap of his minty ribbon.

...Until he burst in front of the west-facing window Rivener and Xiu were both intently looking out of. With a loud howl of glee, terrible to hear, Eiry rolled his shoulders and flared his flaming wings with eager coughs of flame, "What, what, brother mine! Hoarding the guest to yourself now are we?"

“Haha…no worries,” said Hazeline. “My older brother, Gerard, used to swear when he’s with his friends. They think it’s…cool or something; parents weren’t too happy about it but he’s grown out of it since. Perhaps it’ll work itself out after a while,” said Hazeline turning her attention to Isi. The young boy now had the ‘innocent child’ expression written all over his face as he apologized and Hazeline felt a smile beginning to form. It was amazing how one’s facial expression could influence one’s appearance. Already the ‘sullen child’ image had gone and would have been replaced by an ‘awkward but bashful teen’ if Isi had not at that moment decided to lose his cool. Watching with her mouth slightly agape as the green Sigel made an exit through the roof with a ghostly giggle, Hazeline gingerly pulled a chair out and lowered herself onto it. Being calm around raevans was one thing and being terrified (in a sort of wary skeptical way) of ghosts was another but when the two were meshed up…

That and seeing Eiry drift through walls twice in less than five minutes apart certainly had an effect (albeit a little delayed) on the young woman.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, the guardian found her eyes straying to the crutches by Isi’s side.

“So umm…did you have a fall or something?” asked Hazeline motioning to Isi’ crutches.

Xiu smiled at Rivener’s barely concealed delight. Well, the Sigel should be proud of his paintings. They depicted the various sceneries rather well. Xiu was even tempted to suggest to the Sigel that perhaps…he could try selling it. After all, some of these paintings would look nice framed and mounted in a living room. It was then that Rivener beckoned the white Sigel over to show him the painting’s inspiration. Tilting his head slightly, the white Sigel floated over and obliged the Scorpion by peering out of the window. It was as Rivener had said, from this point; the house gave a wonderful view of the backyard and Xiu nodded when the Sigel motioned to a big tree growing within its compound. Who’d have guessed that Rivener was such an artist at heart?

The sudden appearance of Eiry in front of the both of them shocked the white raevan immensely and Xiu immediately floated back, his wings flared in defense and his rune glowing brightly as a sort of talisman against the supernatural being.
