Taking in his sister's voice, knowing it was not a mirage of his travels, Beau smiled. "Yes, even if a sisterly tap stirred me," he laughed and gave a little push to his sister in a loving manner, "it was needed more than even I knew." It felt good to laugh, though it sounded a bit foreign coming from him.
He had to prepare himself for what he knew his sister would soon be asking. How can he say much of his trip? Roshana must never know, no one should ever know. Hoping his face did not betray his worries. He wanted to drown himself in happiness for a while at least. Wash away the terrors of his memories.
"How about you? Any good dreams?"

Giggling, she pushed lightly back. Someone had to wake us sleepyheads!" She yawned softly, shaking her head to get rid of the last effects of sleep. "Mmm, my dreams..." She cocked her head. "Well, when I was away, I always dreamed of you... But here, now that we're together again, I dreamt of being out there again." She frowned ever so slightly. To be where she was happiest, but already dreaming of being alone again? "I'm not sure if they were good or bad, Beau. What do you think?" She looked up at Beau with confused eyes that also held the certainty that her brother would know what it meant.

Beau looked at his sister with loving eyes. "I can understand your feelings, Roshana. I have loved to seeing you again, but at the same time having the world around you pulling you to move forward." Beau look towards the distant skies, "I miss it too."
Turning back to his sister, "I know we must move on to find our future, but just remember your past. This is our home and always will be our warm, safe place, if only in our memories."

"What?" She gapped in shock, about to object, then hesitated. "I suppose. I don't want this place to ever be just a memory, but... that's what it was when I was away, wasn't it." She sighed softly, nuzzling her nose against Beau's. "I'll always remember it though. Ill remember home, and you. You two go together, don't you."
She laughed cheerfully. "Don't worry. There's no way I could forget you."

Beau nuzzled Roshana back, "I promise I will never forget my sister or this land."
"But how could you ever forget such a big, strong stud of a beast that raised you!" With a grin, he preened before his sister. "When you return to your travels and I to mine, you will compare every other male to this fine specimen. And they shall fall short by a mile. But don't be dishearten my fair sister. You will have to forgive them their shortcomings and look for one that will make you happy."

Smiling brightly, she tipped onto her side laughing. "A beast you are, indeed!" She shook out her cropped mane, stretching before pushing herself standing. "My only consolation to your high standards is that you will also have to find females who measure up to me, which I dare-say you'll be hardpressed to do." Silently, she sighed to herself. Her travels had shown her many females she thought better than herself... "But you too. As long as she makes you happy."

"I can believe that, sis." Beau stared into the distance and took a deep breath, "Roshana, you know I care for you and I have enjoyed our time together. But I need to find my own and you must find yours." Pulling his sister into an embrace to help hide his sadness.

When their parting was suddenly imminent, Roshana did her best to repress the sob that tried to escape. It was almost as hard as when they had first felt the need to move on. Sighing, she nuzzled against his neck. "Yes... and find it we will!" She put on a brave smile, pulling back to nuzzle her nose against his. "We'll always have home though. I love you, brother."

Beau swallowed hard and nuzzled his sister back. "I love you too. And will miss you dearly." He turned slowly and started out on his journey. "Goodbye Roshana, and good luck with your search for your future." Never being good at long goodbyes, he took in one last look at sister and disappeared into the brush.
