Kidondo smiled. "And you were small once, too, Heti. This is Kakek Api, a promising young cub, I think you'll find. He'll be on the hunt for someone to apprentice too very soon. I was thinking of pointing him in your direction. Or your father's maybe." No harm in trying to get the lion to focus on career building. Heti was a good guard but his mischievious and rebellious ways did tend to land him in trouble. Maybe having a responsibility would get him to settle once and for all.
The Regent smiled. "Just dropped by to put a face to a name, is all. Is your father close by?"
Heti grimaced, curling a lip. "Don't doubt it, Sir." He didn't like to be overlooked a potential boost in status let alone lose it to his father. "Ah yeah, my dad's hereabouts. I'm sure he'd be happy to see you. But yeah, uh, Kakek, was it? I'm Heti. I might not be the most experienced, but I've been taught well and I'm young and strong. You want to learn more about being a guard, then look me up, okay, kid? I guess I might be able to find the time to teach you a thing or two. Once you've grown a bit, o' course."
Kidondo smiled, rolling his eyes a little. "We'll leave you to your work then, Heti." Turning to his grandson, he motioned for them to continue. "Come then, young firekin, let's be on our way. We'll circle back and if we bump into Azar'bijan, then all the better." Giving a nod in the guard's direction, Kidondo moved past him, down the dune, and across the gold expanse, pausing to glance back at his grandson with pride in his eyes.

Kakek grinned proudly his grandfather was talking very highly and stood up for him. Quite frankly when Kakek wasn't around some one older then him Kakek was very much a trouble maker himself But he wouldn't tell his grandfather or act out in front of him. KAkek nodded to the other male. Before giggling and nodding again.
He looked over at his father again before laughing and nodding in agreement. "This is exciting." He iggled again as he started to follow his grand father back this day couldn't get any better.
