Yeah, my older brother discovered that one when I was like 4. It's crazy. Mom and Dad built a new house close to where the old one was, and its' a modern design. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are open to the lower level of the house. There are only 2 rooms in the house that have only 1 door and are not open to the rest of the house; the bathroom, and one lesser bedroom, so the "Open/Close" ghost isn't as busy as he/she used to be. cry

Aaw. Poor thing.
I agree with Chieftain Twilight that we should not "put them on disply". If you go to a haunted house with out knowing it, that is one thing. But making it a tourist attraction is kind of shallow.
Gettysburg is an amazing city. I go there to shop and we went on a ghost walk where she told us about the different ghost stories. It's not like she took us to a haunted hospital, we walked around the city. And the resturants are great, but I don't know which are supposedly haunted. I know there is a bridge that you can hear horses hooves clip-clopping on. And of course the battlefields. There is a lot of history so I feel it is more of an educational place then a ghost tourist attraction.

I honestly don't mind the publicity that the paranormal is getting now. I like to hear when other people have had experiences like I have...
BUT, I do agree that exploiting "haunted" places is wrong, because it tends to weaken credibility, in my opinion. When dealing with apparitions, I don't think it matters if others go to try and see them or not, as I am firmly convinced its some kind of residual energy recording, and not part of a soul.
Yet, when there is a piece of soul left that still has some emotion left, I think it is still human, and shouldn't be on display. I honestly like the idea of mediums who go to give these souls "Therapy", but I don't think that should be public either.

Recorded Apparitions are one thing, true Spectres are another. the different types of Ghosts can be very varied, and all i am saying s that Respect shouldn't be denied to anyone just because they have died.
Ghosts of any type however are still, by their very definition, sad... when they are residual emotions or energy, i cannot help but be shaken emotionally. while when they are actual Spirits, they are typically forlorn or in despair. not always, admittedly, there are the ones with a strong will... but to be honest, that raises questions as to why they are stuck here as Ghosts. o_O;
anywho, my point is, no matter the case i am unsettled in these instances. it is not pleasant, very uncomfortable.

Hm... I see someone clicked "bullshit". I'm curious as to why. But they most likely will not post their opinions.

Oh yesh, I remember that was me. However, I didn't expect to really post anything since my opinion isn't so important and I have said this many of times in other threads. BUT SINCE YOU CALLED ME OUT I GUESS WE MUST MAKE HISTORY REPEAT HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR
Really, I have no reason to believe in ghosts because not only do I not believe in spirits, I don't have any reason TO believe in ghosts. Ghosts are something you believe only when you see it and live the experience. The problem is, I never have had an experience with a ghost and probably never will. It might just be a belief obtained from paranoia or something of the sort, who knows.

I am always interested in the other story, unless the person presents it in a disrespectful way. I understand that not having an experience plays a major role. So until someone has one, if they do not deny it, then I fully respect their decision. If they do have a sort of unexplained happening then I would try to get their explanation for it. Curiousity killed the cat, after all.
I'm suprised you answered me XP

I think that our understandings of these things (realms, spirits, different types of beings) are very limited, and that we should not be so quick to declare "bullshit" OR "I know all about this stuff", since it's certainly something that is at least open for debate.
Society has fought hard to keep the subject off the debate table, because both science AND organized religion have this silly need to have a complete explanation for everything under the sun, and there's not an easy way to give an authoritative explanation of the supernatural.
My belief in short: hate and love are forces stronger than we know, and not just our attitudes, but our very beings, are primarily composed of one or the other.

I don't know if I had, but I do feel somtimes that I'm being watched, especially at night, but I do not believe in the ghosts that spend their entire afterlife scaring people to death, only spirits like poltergiests who only tap on walls make scratches on wall paper or knock things down. I also think dogs can see ghosts, but not the exact person they are.
