Dacj shook her head at her girlfriend's implication, but she was smiling, even if it was a wry one. "Yes, a bit early I'd say. Besides, there are better places than movie theaters for that sort of thing..." Not that she was suggesting any, lest Sorcha get Ideas. Like she didn't already have them.
She'd actually never really been to a proper public movie theater before and found herself grateful for the pushup drink holders, as it was a lot more comfortable to spread herself out across two seats. It didn't look like it was too busy of a night, so she didn't think anyone would mind. Still pre-previews, and a check of the watch said it'd be a few minutes before things got started. "So, besides Machiavelli, what've you been up to?"

Sorcha smiled and gave Dacj a coy look, "Really now, Mad science is supposed to have big dramatic revels you just don't tell people about it~ though... I suppose if it's you I could make an exception or two~" Sorcha mock ponders this idea for a few moments "Hmm well, I made a handful of Tesla coils a while back, I'm not really sure what I'm gonna use them for but the lightning does make for some damn nifty mood lighting. I've also been reading up on Piezoelectricity and Pyroelectricity."

Lightning--Dacj couldn't help but shudder. Maybe it was because she was a mer at heart and the idea of getting caught by lightning in her usual environment was terrifying. "Be safe, okay? I'll cry if you fry your hair," Dacj said, teasing as she moved to twirl a tendril of the aforementioned red hair around a finger. "And I haven't the slightest idea what the other two things are, but they sound appropriately dangerous." Pyroelectricity? Firey electricity? What was "Piezo" then?

Sorcha nodded "I'll give it all the due concern for safety that I give every thing else~ Oh Pyroelectricity refers to the electrical charge generated by certain materials when exposed to changes in temperature, Piezoelectricity is the similar but generated through mechanical stress instead of temperature heart "

Given Sorcha's general 'due concerns for safety', the young woman's reassurance did not particularly reassure her kraken girlfriend, but Dacj'd just have to hope for the best. She'd voiced her concerns, and that was all she could do, really.
"I'd say 'interesting' except I'd be lying a bit--I'm not one much for technical details, but I'm sure you'll think of appropriate ways to use your new knowledge of them," Dacj said with a smile. She took a slurp of slushie before replacing the beverage in a nearby drink holder, and settled in for the short run with her head resting on Sorcha's shoulder, watching the trivia and short advertisements of the pre-previews play across the movie screen.

Sorcha enjoyed the movie for the most part but couldn't help making sarcastic remarks about some of the more naive actions of the protagonists. As the credits rolled Sorcha stood and stretched and offered a hand to help Dacj up "Well it was pretty good, though they could have avoided soo many problems if they had just been a bit more ruthless~"

"There'd hardly have been a movie then, would there?" Dacj replied with a grin, using Sorcha's proffered hand to haul herself up and then stretch her tentacles out. One or two were tingly and seemed to have fallen quite asleep.
"And besides, naïveté can be sort of cute," she teased, mostly thinking of her magical boy brother. The trait caused no end of problems for him, too...

"Well the story would have to change to stay interesting but still be done, those sorts off moments are just put in to show how good the hero is supposed to be they aren't really necessary." Sorcha considered a moment as they exited the theater and she opened up Machiavelli then said "As for naïveté being cute... I suppose it can be on occasion, though not in situations where the person should know better."

"Maybe it does depend on the situation," Dacj allowed. It was a lot less cute when it involved a dangerous situation where someone 'ought to know better.' She gave Machiavelli a significant look, then grinned at Sorcha. "Are we gonna defy the law on the way back?"

Sorcha completely oblivious to Dacj's significant looks grinned hugely as she strapped her self in to her seat "Weeell that would depend on what a certain kraken wants, I wouldn't have your brother say I forced you into a life of crime or such~" Sorcha said coyly.

"Pffffft!" Dacj said as she flopped into her own seat, wiggled to settle in for the drive, and strapped herself in. "S'only a life of crime if we are on the run because we got caught," she said matter-of-factly. "So let's not get caught!"

Sorcha laughed as kicked on Machiavelli's engines and brought the craft up to it's maximum height " Haha I knew I made the right choice when I asked you out." Sorcha said happily as threw the thrusters to maximum and the acceleration pushed her back into her chair. Sorcha flew a mostly straight path to the destination ignoring roads and flying above the other cars occasionally swerving around a building or tall tree.

Dacj giggled at Sorcha's declaration; giggles quickly turned to a gasp as the forward acceleration pushed them both back into their chairs. She spent most of the ride cheerfully pointing out sights to be seen below them, eyes wide as she gazed out the windshield of the flying vehicle. "Oooh, ooh, there it is!" she said, excitedly gesturing to the Cottage as they flew up by her home. "If you park in the driveway again, that should be fine." Mena's van was the only car they really had, and Mena wasn't going to be driving it anytime soon, the way she was always in the lab these days. And Dacj wasn't going to leave before Sorcha did.
She ran over dinner preparations in her mind--yes, she'd set things thawing before she left. Everything ought to be ready to get dinner started. "I should probably warn you now, I haven't done a lot of cooking," she said cautiously. She was certain she was better at it than Mena though.

Sorcha smiled as she set Machiavelli down one the drive way and powered her down. "I wouldn't worry about it Lear, banned me from the kitchen after I accidentally reanimated a turkey, so you should at least be better then me."
