"You're probably right. . .wait. . .You don't like flying?" Gods sure were strange. If she had wings, that's all she'd do, was fly around. "If you don't fly, what do you do all day? Just walk around and eat stuff, like a normal lion?"

Call him lazy, but perhaps he was afraid of heights? He wasn't sure. "No, I like the earth." He told her simply. It wasn't like he didn't fly with the bats time to time. That was fun when he was younger. He did it a lot. But as he got older, it just lost his interest. He just didn't like flying. It was so much work, as well as he wasn't exactly small. "I sleep all day." He told her. He didn't do anything all day. He did stuff at night.

"Sleeping all day makes sense. The sun is way too hot in the middle of the day." Nata paused for a minute to have a good scratch. Fleas. She should go sit in a pool and drown all of the little buggers but then she'd be sopping wet for ages and she'd smell like wet hyena, and even hyenas don't like the smell of wet hyena.
"So what do you do all night? God stuff? Do you watch out for all the little critters and . . . I dunno, I never met a god before. I don't know what you guys are supposed to do. I thought you were all made up, really."

He blinked at her curiosity. How was he to really answer that. He did what he did, and that's what he did. There was no real words for it. He shrugged. "I suppose I do god stuff." He wasn't sure exactly what was considered god stuff, and mortal stuff. How could he really tell? He looked like he was doing normal stuff, then some things he could do they can't do. He shrugged it off. "I can't really explain it."

"You can tell me to shut up if I'm getting too nosy, dude. Everyone does. I just like to ask questions. Even if you tell me to get lost it was worth meeting you to be able to see like this for a while. I wonder what it would be like to see snow like this."

He couldn't tell her that either. He'd only seen snow once in his life, and that was something he planned to avoid. It was too cold for his taste. He shrugged again as she spoke. "Couldn't tell you" He wasn't good at explaining things, that was for sure.

Nata forged ahead. She was not always good at interpreting social cues, like "This god/lion does not want to talk" or "that antelope is not for you because I killed it."
"You aren't very curious, I guess. I am, I got in trouble for it. I get interested in too many things and then I get distracted by other things but you seem pretty content. I bet you wouldn't wander away from your mom because you saw a cool lizard. That's what I did. The lizard had cone eyes. It was pretty sweet. I wonder what the lizard would look like if I looked at it like this."

He frowned. He hadn't thought about his past in a long time. Nor was he about to get into this conversation with her. "I just don't need to ask things" He simply said. He was getting uncomfortable with this now. He shifted his body slightly, ears flattening kinda, but not too noticeably. He just hoped she wouldn't ask about his past. He tried to bury it.

Fortunately for him, Nata had already moved on in her line of thinking, and had gone back to examining the ground with her god-enhanced eyesight, walking in ever larger circles around him.
After a few minutes, she shouted back at him "Hey, how far away can I go for this to work? Do you know the limits?"
