Hydro huffed and with his attitude continuing she was on the verge of choosing the thorn path. >>; "I don't need you to carry me. I'm capable of taking care of myself." He said huffing before nodding towards the mountain path. "I know it's longer, but it's safer. I have lived on a mountain before so I can walk that terrain just fine. How about you?" She asked as she began to walk towards it waiting for his answer,

he narrowed his eyes but said nothing as he followed. He was free to continue to gripe at the time it took, since the choice hadn't been his. he was thuroughly prepared to be miserable, no matter what happened.

Hydro sighed deeply since it seemed like she wasn't ever going to be able to talk to this male. "We are almost to the mountain." She told him as she stepped on the path that led up the side. "So did you hear Heha is going to be having little ones of his own?" She asked the stallion as she tred lightly on freshly laid snow.

He walked with her and flicked an ear in irritation. His old friend was going to be a father, and hadn't bothered to tell him? No, it was just take this girl where she needs to go. Just fine. Whatever. He just couldn't beleive Heha had him babysitting without telling him there would be a baby. Or worse. Babies. He didn't like foals. they were noisy and did what they wanted, when they wanted, leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces. Foals. Baskets. Who needed them? He had his hands full with the filly in front of him! Oh grass, was this training? Was Heha training him to be a babysitter for the foal? Well he would have a few things to say to Heha about THAT when they got back!

Hydro looked backed at the quiet stallion not sure if it was a good idea she broke the news to him. From what she could see it wasn't. "Do you like kids?" She asked him and thought about them herself. She didn't mind them too much, but didn't know if she could take snobby ones. It was enough to have to deal with herself, she didn't think she could handle another one of her. Climbing higher up the edge of the mountain, she paused for a moment to check which way the wind was blowing. "Look can't we just be friends. I would rather be quiet believe me, but having someone else so quiet makes me a little uneasy." She told him with a raised brow before continuing on through a crevice to escape the winds since she didn't know if the stallion could handle the cold.

Freinds? Foals? Where was this filly coming from? She couldn't be more scattered if she were dust in the wind! Did she have a single thread she could follow mentally, or was her mind more like a shallow pond filled with a million swiming shining guppies, so that the shininess of any one guppy distracted her from the last? Did she ever even stop to breathe? Seriously, what was wrong with her? Had she been trampled as a basket? That would explain a lot. Which question did he even answer? That was, if he was going to bother to answer any of them. And the silance made her uneasy? Last time he checked, he wasn't there for her peace of mind, just for her physical safty. That decided him. Let her be uneasy. It was no hair off his hide. He swished his tail once before joining her in the crevice.

Hydro only heard silence coming from behind her and all she could do was give one last deep throated sigh. She gave up. She wasn't going to try anymore in getting him to vocalize his thoughts. She wouldn't see him again after this anyway. She stepped through into the light before feeling the cold air hit her like a fist. It was something she nearly forgot about with being in a warmer climate. Turning back to the stallion, she opened her mouth about to say something, but stopped. She turned away and continued onward into the snowy field with her hooves sinking in about an inch or two. She trudged as fast as she could only to find herself getting a little tired, but trying not to show it since she was sure the stallion would of found her weak.

He followed, and braced when the cold hit him. He braced again when she turned. He waited for the words he was sure were coming. When she turned back without a word, he actually felt a knot of tension ease.He stepped through the cold and the snow, feeling a thrill rush through him. How long had it been since he had actually felt the snow? The cold? It felt wonderful, and he felt almost... at peace. He felt his sholders loosining and despite the pull of the snow around his hooves, his steps felt almost light. He even could not hate her at the moment. HE felt so good, it was hard to remeber things like hatred. They were small hot embers. Hatred, rage, furry, annoyance, jelousy. Those were all warm weather emotions. Unless something triggeredf them, it was easy to let the snow freeze them, lock them away. HE half closed his eyes, relaxing as he walked, almost wishing for an excuse to stop and rest. Not because he was tired. Far from, he was invigorated. But... Just to enjoy the feeling of the world of white.

The cream colored female stopped walking once she reached a stone. It was a very pretty stone and one that took her forever to drag with her teeth. She even wondered how her jaw didn't pop out from it. "We are here.." She said lightly in a kind of sad tone before laying down on the snow right before the stone that stuck right out of the ground. "I set up this memorial for my family. I couldn't find their bodies...so I did this for them. They died not too far from here." She said to Pachu'a even if he wasn't going to listen to her. "Thank you for taking me here...you can go now if you want..." She told him non-chalantly before laying her head down on the snow.

He blinked, startled and stared at her. This was their grand quest? He had assumed that they were fetching some rare herb to heal a wounded foal, or some thing similar. Something to help another. She seemed that type, with the annyong pure heartedness. And it was just to come to a place where she could sit and sulk and be weapy? Was she mad? Well he was getting there, though not in the crazy way. And he had told Heha that he would protect this slip of a foal. He didn't know what universe the filly lived in if she though leaving her to freeze to death qualified at seeing to her safty. He narrowed his eyes. No. He was not going to just abandon her to waste away and join her family. What a foolish waste. He sat down in the snow. "We leave in the morning" he grumbled at her. No way was he abandoning her to the elements up here. EVen as much as he loved the snow he knew the dangers of the tempting lethergy too much time in it produced. Not. A. Chance.

The female looked back at him with a glare seeing his temper didn't even let up during this time when she wanted to see her family's grave. She didn't understand how someone could be so cold towards that. "No you leave by morning..I'm staying." She told him in a slightly shaky voice, but quickly recovered when she looked at him once again. "Your so selfish and cold...you don't know me..I know that. But if someone is respecting their dead family by coming to their grave the least you can do is offer sympathy. Yes it's been a long time since their death, but I miss them." She told him in a raspy voice before rising to her feet and snorting. "You know what..I don't even want to be around you. I may not be the most intriguing person either...but at least I'm not as mean as you!" She shouted before looking away from him with tears running down her muzzle. "I already thanked you..so unless you have another reason to be here then I have no further reason to see you." She told him as she trotted off to a nearby hill where she stopped and flopped down on the ground.

He followed her, irritated. A little of that irritation was with himself, but he kept that bottled up, largly because he wasn't fully certain that he understood her. "I made a promise" he said simply. He was not going to let her die up here. Not on her watch. She wanted to cme back later, alone and be stupid. well that was her cho.... he wasn't going to let her die up here. Hypothermia was far more dangerous then anything encountered on their journy. No, he wasn't leaving her alone.

Hydro looked back seeing the male approaching making her sniffle the rest of the tears away. "I'm sorry..I don't know what came over me. I guess...I miss my sister and mother the most." She told him and never really had much time to spend with a family. "I was alone most of my life..do you know what that feels like? Not having anyone as your friend, no family to love you, and no one to fall in love with? It's lonely and empty." She told him before curling up a little from the cold wind. "Why won't you talk about yourself?" She asked him some before nuzzling her muzzle into the snow.

Did he know what it was like to be alone? Was she kidding? Had she met him. Of course he knew what that was like, he lived it. Pretty much every day. Always had. He had never even known his family. And it didn't bothr him, at least not much. What point was there even in family? He just... didn't see it. They always wanted something from you, ner as he could tell. Still, he had seen some families, at a distance, that seemed happy. But... He shook himself mentaly. This was neither the time nor the place. he flicked his tail. "There is nothing to say" he mutered finally. And there wasn't. He wasn't an interesting Soq, he wasn't thrilling, his life wasn't a series of daring escapes or escapades. He wasn't a fast sprinter or a talented artist. His life was simply what he had been doing before he had been convinced to escort her. Wandering. Alone. That was his life. What was there to tell? Nothing.

Hydro heard the stallion and didn't like his choice of words even then. He sounded so uninteresting, but she found herself intrigued by him. "You act as if your boring..I know deep down your not....why do you act this way?" She asked him as if he was going to spill his whole life out there to her. "I don't like to pry, but I want to know more about you." She said sniffling as she tried to put everything that just happened behind her. "Is it too much to ask someone for that? Don't you need a friend? Don't you need anyone there to help you through things?" She asked him as she stood on her feet and turned to look at the male. "I'm willing to listen. Even though I'm hurt by your cold attitude towards my family's grave I will put that aside." She said to him before brushing her muzzle against her shoulder. "So can you please talk to me...I'm begging you." She said to him with her tears freezing on her cheeks.
