And it is totally official. The original english VAs for Saiyuki are doing Requiem.
I was just checking my favorite site for this, and there were those lovely names...
Braden Hunt as Cho Hakkai David Mantranga as Genjo Sanzo Greg Ayres as Son Goku Illich Guardiola as Sha Gojyo Kelli Cousins as Hakuryu
Still haven't found out anything about Reload or Gunlock, and believe me, I've been looking...

Oh man! I finally got the first DVD. I love the Japanese, its so cute, and makes Hakkai absolutely melt-worthy, even if he already was. Now the dubb..... *starts crying* They changed the plot, and how the characters acted! Its horrible! But, some of the dialog was funny..... And for some reason, Hakkai's voice actor sounded like the dubb actor of Vash the stampede! T.T

Not the same. Hakkai's english dub actor is Braden Hunt. Vash's is Johnny Yong Bosch.
Personally, I like the dub better, but that's because I like American humor more than Japanese.

Hmmm, I like both, personally. Although there are a few animes that I refuse to watch dubbed. And I happen to think that Hakkai's english voice is very sexy, personally. And don't get me started on Goyjo's voice. RAWR! heart heart

Greg's my favorite male VA and they just had to take him out. It just won't be the same without him... though since it's my favorite series I'll still buy it like my life depends on it. Of course, I just really want them to hurry up and release Reload, Gunlock, and Requiem.

I wish I could get the DVDs crying I'm poor right now sweatdrop Maybe when they release a boxed set I can save up and buy that xd
As for dubbing... hmm, I tend to prefer subtittled anyways, so the english voice actors don't really matter to me.

There are advantages to both subbed and dubbed. Of course, there's the whole argument with anime of which is better. Me, as I said I believe they both have their pros and cons. Let us compare Saiyuki Subbed vs Saiyuki Dubbed in terms of swords (god Fighter would be drooling and repeating "I like swords!" at that one). You have the Two-Handed (Subbed) vs the One-Handed (Dubbed). Both good for different reasons. And me, I fight into the b*****d Sword category (a weapon that can be weilded with one hand or two). BUT ANYWAY... it's near-on impossible for me to get non-dubbed anime anyway so that kind of decides it for me.

Yeah... Nii's English voice kind of scared me at first. xd Suppose it takes some getting use to. I really don't mind most of the other dub VAs though.

Yeah, after watching 6 of the DVDs in English, all of them are starting to fit, except Nii's! I would have put more of a Shigure (Fruits Basket Dubb) on him, I suppose he just needs to have a voice that jests more....
