Normally the Drifloon would be fearful of an electric attack coming his way. But the shock wasn't as painful as he thought. He was able to shake off the damage and glared at his trainer (again) for putting him up to this. And then he turned to his opponent.

He asked the Pikachu

Leonard sighed. This battle was probably going to last forever since these attacks were doing nothing. "Use Constrict."

Weatherby floated over to Max and wrapped his arms around his body. When he pulled as tight as he could, he found that the Pikachu was chubbier than he thought and couldn't tug as hard.

< . . . Huh? Yo man, I don't understand that V era thing you be talkin'. Chill man, I just want to kick ya butt and move on. Gosh, man.> The Pikachu sighed and suddenly began to prepare some kind of, err, something but was immediately caught off guard when Weatherby started hugging him.

"Max, Thundershock!" jeered Lennyka.

so annoyin'. Anyway, sorry man, but I got to listen to the lady.> With that, Max sent another tingling spark to the Drifloon. This really was going no where, huh?

the Pikachu said to the Drifloon.

Weatherby said indignantly.

And then he got shocked again. Like before, it wasn't too painful, but it was enough to make the Drifloon let go.

Weatherby bobbed his head in a nod. He knew that his own trainer would be more than a little disappointed if he lost... But the loss would be easier for him to accept because he was a terribler fighter in the first place.

Leonard was watching the two Pokemon in slight disbelief. What were they talking about? Trash talking, probably, but his Pokemon were never that vocal. Especially Weatherby, who didn't seem like the type to trash talk.

"Use Ominous Wind again!" He said, since it seemed to do more than a simple Constrict.

Even if Max seemed eager to fight, Weatherby refused to hurt him further. Still, he had to attack if the end to this battle were to seem plausible. He blew at the Pikachu but didn't infuse that dark energy that was a characteristic of the ghost type move.

"What? That's not an Ominous Wind! That's like a puny Gust!"

said the Drifloon to himself.

"Oh goodness, Max, are you alright?" panicked Lennyka. Max replied to her with an expression that read, "Arceus, are you really dumb?"

he sighed and waited for his owner to give order.

"Alright, Max, go with a Growl!"

He shot Weatherby an apologetic expression and squeaked a short, "Pika . . . ?" at the Drifloon.

This battle sure was endless . . . like a Magikarp against a Magikarp.

Weatherby knew that feeling of helplessness when your trainer issued a stupid move. Leonard, however, didn't. He might've laughed in her face if he wasn't afraid of another breakdown or if she was a complete stranger.

"Um... ok. Counter that with Focus Energy." He said.

Well now this battle was going to last even longer. Weatherby tried to concentrate but only found success when he focused on how he was going to make his trainer pay later.

"It's so focused!" she gasped. "M-Max, break its concentration with Quick Attack!"

Oh, finally!

Max skidded than started a rather quick, left to right, right to left run towards the Pokemon. Head to be used as his primary weapon, he attempted to bash the Drifloon with his noggin. What he didn't realize was that he wasn't really looking as he attack . . . and wouldn't be surprised if his attack was a miss.

Leonard watched as the Pikachu started zipping about, actually somewhat concerned about the attack. That looked like it might hurt. But then Max passed right through Weatherby. Oh. Right.

"Normal attacks don't work on Ghost types. Remember?" To be honest, he kinda forgot himself. But now she wouldn't make the same mistake again. "Use Ominous Wind, a proper one this time!"

Weatherby was also worried about the Quick attack. And was a little surprised to see it had no effect at all. Well, now he was pumped up. Maybe the battle won't be decades long now.

He said as he blew another gust of dark energy at him.

He said, not realizing he was much of a hypocrite for going against his own spoken gesture. Had he looked passed his own denseness and stupidity, he would have discovered how dense and stupid he really was.

The sudden gust of wind was a little strong from before. What the heck? Was he going to lose?

"Y-Yes, I remembered!" A lie, obviously. "Max, err, Thundershock!"

Again? A sparkling bolt of hardly terrifying electricity shot at the Drifloon.

So much for an easy and simple solution to this predicament. This Thundershock hurt a little more, maybe because the Pikachu was serious about winning now.

Even though it felt like the battle had been going on foreveeeeer, Leonard saw that Weatherby was at half health already. So he better stop playing around and do... something.

"Alright, what about that new move? Payback!" He said.

Weatherby for once was happy to obliged his trainer. It was a fight to the death now. Keeping in the front of his mind the pain he endured from all those Thundershocks, he charged forward at Max.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 27, 2010 8:48 pm

Payback, not just the attack but the overall idea of vengeance, is a b***h. A terrible one and with it, caused the Pikachu fall to the ground below, tongue lolling out of its mouth as if he were roadkill. Okay, so, Max was down for the count without even muttering another wannabe surfer boy statement at the Drifloon. The silence was probably golden to the Ghost Pokemon's ears.

"Max, return!" cried Lennyka, holding back the want to throw a hissyfit. "Eloise, get in there! Now, now, now!"

"Mmr?"

"Damn it, El, just get in there already!"

"Mmr . . . " The red-orange Charizard took her place on the field and stared Leonard down with heart aflutter in her eyes. Gross.

"Hey what-" Well he really couldn't complain. A Pokemon battle lasts until all of a trainer's Pokemon fainted. Except if it was going to be a full battle, this was going to last even longer.

Leonard had to give credit to Weatherby though. He defeated a Pokemon that he was disadvantaged against! But he wasn't sure if the Drifloon could beat a Charizard. And she was still looking at him that way. It was unnerving...

Suddenly, Weatherby began to glow. His shining figure enlarged, grew more arms, and... Yes! He evolved into the Drifblim Leonard always wanted!

"Alright!" He said, sounding enthusiastic for the first time. "We can do it! Wait, what new moves can you learn?"

As Leonard scanned his Pokedex Weatherby sighed. So much for the battle being over.

"Mmmr!" Eloise's mouth was still full of that dummy she's been savoring during Max's battle, so it was quite hard to decipher what she was saying. However it was along the lines of, "You go first." towards the newly evolved Drifblim.

"What?" shouted Lennyka unhappily. "It is our turn, we should go first since Max fainted!"

"Mmmr!" glared the Charizard. This caused Lennyka to shrivel up and minimize to the size of an amoeba.

"A-Alright, alright, y-you can go f-f-f-first." she stammered.

"Huh? Ok." Leonard was a bit oblivious to what happened but he wouldn't object to going first. "Let's see... Can you use Stockpile? Since you're still low on health and all."

Weatherby was somewhat relieved to hear that he wasn't going to attack the Charizard. Not yet. He had never used this new move before and frankly, it didn't make sense. What was he supposed to stockpile? He noticed some medicine balls in the corner and... Oh dear Arceus he wasn't supposed to eat those was he?

"No, Weatherby." His trainer answered his question for him thankfully. "It says you stockpile energy."

Right. The Drifblim focused and started glowing a bit, like he was evolving again. But the glow dissipated and he remained the same, though perhaps he looked a little rounder.

"What a useless move!" cried Lennyka joyfully. "All he did was puff up like a balloon! Get it balloon, Drifloon? Or wait, Drifblim . . . Bwhaha, still funny though!"

As Lennyka was occupied by her own stand-up comedic routine, Eloise took the time to attack. She went over her given moves in her head and figured which one would be good not to harm Mister Gorgeous' Pokemon but also not make her owner whine like a certain Wigglytuff. It took a small game of invisible Russian roulette to find a suitable attack. Going with Dragon Rage, the Charizard coughed out a hearty beam of dragon something at the Drifblim.

"Che meraviglia!" cheered Len. "Keep it up!"

Eh, whatever. It was a weak attack anyway.

Leonard didn't think that Stockpile was useless. It was one of the better defensive moves. But of course it was useless against a move that ignored defenses. Luckily Weatherby was still standing (floating?) after that last move but who knew how much more he could take? He looked down at his Pokedex and saw another recently learned move that didn't make the Stockpile so useless after all.

"Now use Swallow!" Unlike Stockpile, Leonard had no clue what Weatherby was supposed to swallow. But the Drifblim apparently understood and he looked much better after doing so.
