Melanie walked into the strawberry fields picking a couple ripe ones and plopping them into her mouth "so how did you come to be a camp?" she said plopping down in the shade.

Cassie skipped afterwards, her happy facade faltering when she saw Melanie drop the ruby fruit in her mouth. She sat down, "Oh, I, um, hospital. Like wow, um, a doctor was like, 'hey you should check this out' so..."Cassie trailed off, looking round uncomfortably at the fields around her, smoothing down out of place leaves, "You?"

Mel looked at her quizzically "Okay?" she looked up and plucked another strawberry off the vines "I was walking home from school one day and was attacked by a harpy. Dad had given me a knife a couple days before and some how i managed to kill the thing the stayr that found me ended up having to carry me here with some cuts and broken bones." she smiled alittle "But that thing is gone and i'm still here so i don't really care."

"Wow.." Cassie replied, her eyes transfixed on the strawberries, "That like, totally, wow. I'd hate to have to fight, it would like be horrible and stuff would get in my hair, and I really hate washing my hair because like, it's boring, you know? At the hospital they had to do it in case I like, threw up in the toliet, that wasn't boring, it was quite funny." She had turned round by now to smile at Melanie, "It's like when you're little, I liked being little, it was less complicated. Not like now when everything is, even like, explaining where we live is complicated now, you know?"

Mel laughed alittle "yeah i know what you mean, Everything before was black and white. And now that we're older it's not just black and white anymore but grey." She staired at this strange girl. my god how in the world did she live this long. "so why exactly were you in the hospital again?"

Cassie's wide smile broke out again as she watched Melanie agree with her, "Oh, I stopped eating, it was like, the happiest time in my life. But I had to stop before I died, because otherwise it wasn't fun."

Mel's mouth dropped. "Okay you are way to perky." she said standing up "You nearly died and that was the happiest time of your life!" she looked at her in utter shock and disbelief "I can say that attack was the scariest thing that ever happened to me, Well besides the gang fight i ended up in but that's another story." Melanie waved her had as though to dismiss the fact she brought that up "the happiest time of my life i could easily say was when my father adopted me. Or better yet when he said that i had a nack for fighting and excepted me as his student. But nearly dieing!!!! How on earth did you manage to live this long!"

Cassie stayed on the ground, gazing up at the girl, "You wouldn't understand. I don't eat, and then everyone had to do what I said, it was like, powerful. And I needed that rush to face the shadows outside my window, because no one would make them go away. They just made me run from them. But if I want to have my body dying, everyone rushes to little Cassie's side." She paused, and jumped to her feet, "Like I said, you wouldn't understand."
And she stepped through the vines and made her way back to Camp.

Mel felt like someone had slapped her in the face Aw s**t! Nice going Melanie she started to run after Cassie "Cassie! HEY CASSIE WAIT UP!!!" she yelled trying to catch up with her but she was already gone. "great" she muttered. Smooth going girl. she kicked at the ground. and head off to the hermes cabin to grab her things.

Elena was walking around camp when she saw Krystal. She stopped in her tracks as she remembered their last encounter. Immediately, she climbed up the nearest tree and observed carefully before doing anything else, like attacking.
