Hey guys, quick question about meditation or any of these methods in general. I'm new to this and I was wondering just how do you know when you've accessed the energy and are ready? Is there a feeling you get? How long does it take? As I said I'm new and all of this energy related stuff kind of scares me to be honest. I tried Buddhist meditation before I knew about Wicca but I didn't really feel like I got anywhere at all. i do really love Wicca though, I just need a bit of help with this kind of stuff.

Karyu-tono Hey guys, quick question about meditation or any of these methods in general. I'm new to this and I was wondering just how do you know when you've accessed the energy and are ready? This pickled vegetable...To answer your question I'm gonna use a convoluted metaphor... Ya know how when you turn on a garden hose to fast it'll start jumping around because of the water pressure and you have to struggle a bit to get a hold of it? Its kinda like that. You can't water your lawn until you've got control of the hose, its no different when preforming a ritual/spell/what-have-you. You can't do anything until you have control and you'll know when you have control because you'll be in control.
I hope that answered you question.
I'm curious: How long have you been studying Wicca? And why can't you ask your coven these questions? ... could kick your a** !!

To answer Ren's original question:
I focus my will using different types of breathing that I learned in Hatha yoga. Usually I do the breathing while in the mountain pose. Sometimes I use a mudra that corresponds to what I am about to do.

um.... i used teh do somthin where i would do a spell or somthin and then think about everythin that i wanted and the spell i just did. then let it all build up inside me really fast and let go of it thinkin that its now a fact of nature or i sent it out to the universe or somthin ninja but that didnt really work very much.
im startin somthin new now to try it out 3nodding where i relax so i can feel all my energy instead of holdin it in. and i imagine my spell or what i want like a tunnle then focus all my energy thru the tunnle teh make what i want happen ninja
i think my first one didnt work after a while cuz i did it too much and i got too used teh it for it to feel like magic so it got blah. ninja

I actually lay down flat on my back and empty out my head so I hear nothing and see nothing but white/white noise. I do this because my element is earth, and the closer I get to it the easier it is for me to do this. Although it is the same for me if I concentrate on the moon.

This pickled vegetable...If your element is Earth and that is why you are able to empty your mind of everything but white noise, how are you also able to do the same thing with the moon?
Also, how do you do it? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume you're not laying on the actual surface of the moon. ... could kick your a** !!

And it is the one I am the most fond and close to. I often sit in a position where I can see it from my window or I can stand in it's light which also helps. If I have neither then I take my Moon Oracle deck and take the card of my Patron Goddess inside it and place her infront of me. Which also helps.

This pickled vegetable...Someone in another thread here asked how they can focus their will. There is no one answer to this question so I thought I'd just bump this thread so that they could see everyone's different answers. ... could kick your a** !!

Azhren dooya guys usually focus durin a certain part of a spell or the whole time? ninja Usually I focus on my intention as well as I can throughout all or most of the spell. I focus by thinking about what I want, as well as the feelings I'll have if/when my spell works. Sometimes it takes quite a while for things to work. Other times, they happen way sooner than I would expect.

I stare at a dot I put in the center of a disc shaped rock that I picked up during training at fort Lewis-Mcchord Air Force Base (recent merger). It reminds me of the circumpunct (circle and a dot in the middle) a container and focus. and when I'm done I break the container and let it fly.
