DesertRoseFallen I'm sure everyone will do fine!
To stop myself getting bored with a story, I usually incorperate all new ideas into it. I might get hit by inspiration for another fiction but I work hard to make it fit in with the current novel. My goals also help of course haha! I love it when I can get ideas to fit together in one story! Thank you for reminding me about that. I'm loving this support.

So I just got back from a camping trip and the forest there was so beautiful! I felt like there were always fantastical creatures just outside my vision or something. Completely inspiring. Too bad my story takes place in a desert, but it still gave me a drive to write more.

Nature is the ultimate inspiration.
And desert settings are my favorite.

[Sarcasm] Oh yes Tatooine is one of my biggest inspirations. [/sarcasum]
I'm such a geek. rofl
I've been waiting all summer for my family to go camping. We're going a week before band camp, which is a week before college starts. I always get so much reading and writing down while camping, I love it. Plus it gets me off my lazy butt and I actually do stuff, like swimming and kayaking. It releases my mind.

@ General: You like the desert? I'd like to hear why. I live in one and I'm not especially thrilled with it... which makes me wonder all over again why I'm writing about one.
@KaNugget: Yes! Camping is a wonderful time to ponder stories! (Especially when one's relatives are not paying attention to them).

I just got back from camping with a friend and I will never do it again. Not to say I had a bad time, but clautrophobia does not mix with mummy bags and ornery sleepers.
However, I did have some amazing revelations about my story, all of which I'm about to forget and need to write down in my notebook immediately.
Now I'm showered, it feels wonderful, and I don't ever want to leave the computer again. Yay for Gaia!

I'm a huge fan of Egypt, and I've always liked the idea of desert caravans and such. It might also have to do with the solitude. I like my alone time. And then I'm a nature geek and the desert awes me.
Could be any combination of those, really... xp

@KaNugget: You're a writer, you should know what its like to be picky about names. The username I originally chose was just so I could get this account started. I planned on changing it from the beginning, just as soon as I could find something satisfying. smile
@General: Wow, I love Egypt (mostly cause I like the shirtless prince Moses, from that cartoon, 'The Prince of Egypt' XD). I guess I just never related it to deserts in the south western US and Northern Mexico, which is where my story is- those deserts don't have Arabic caravans and pyramids, which makes them 'less intersting' to say the least. Geez, now you've got me thinking about Egypt, and I know I'll come up with some neat stories that I'll never actually write.

Egypt is a place of wonders. It's my goal to visit there, a couple of times I have come close. I'm going to Greece again next year instead. Both places draw me in because of their history and mythology. Writers started with mythology so I think that is a contributing factor of why many of us like it. It could be just me as I write about mythology. Egypt is also a beautiful place. I love the movie 'The Mummy' haha.

Who doesn't love a Brendan Fraser flick?
"Look, I... I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am." "And what is that?" "I... am a librarian"

@General: I love Brandon Fraser! I never though I'd like 'The Mummy' but that notion was quickly proven wrong. I think I may have to save that movie line somewhere. Are there any movies in paticular that you love to watch because they feature Egypt?
Desert: Oooo Greece? How exciting! I guess then, have the Percy Jackson books caught your attention at all? I know they're written for a youger age group, but they're some of my favorites. I've wanted to travel to another country for some time, but then again, who doesn't? My first choise is Germany though, probably cause my dad loves the place so much, and it is the birthplace of so many fairy tales (however morbid they might actually be)
