Mallow was more than a little surprised at Nia's defensive outburst. It was only then that Mallow was really starting to see that there were layers in Nia far beyond what Mallow's mortal perceptions were aware of. For this, she almost felt like she needed to thank this jerk. Still, Mallow was far too in conflict with him to even so much as gesture or make facial expressions that would say as much.
Mallow was starting to feel sick and tired already of him calling her "little". Ugh. Like she was someone's little sister always in the way? Or little as in he thought he was so much bigger than her. Maybe he was a tad taller.. or a tad longer.. and then his fangs.. well.. maybe they were a bit more devilish than her own. Still, she thought he sure was the dramatic one to try and call her little. But, it seemed to her like the more angry she got; the more he was getting off on her aggression.
Then, she had somewhat of a thought. Might as well take what he's using to try and push her buttons and take that away from him. She puffed her chest up as she sat up and closed her eyes sitting rather smug.
"Well, they do say... the best things come in small packages." She gave him a coy wink of her own. One fallowed with a baited stare out of the corner of her eye that only lasted a second. "Why.. I have even heard that it's the small foxes that destroy the vines. Sometimes, a fox doesn't have to be the biggest to be the best."
Then, his last little bit. OH GAWDS NO!!! Was this little p***k for serious? Was he gonna try and stay? So, he could taunt her all night long... Where were her minions when she really needed them!!! Boy.. this incident was grinding her nerves... fast... and, as much as she was trying to prevent anyone from seeing... her posturing was probably giving it away most of all.
Then, the strangest idea came to her mind. She closed her eyes tight trying to shoo it away from her brain. If she did that, he would probably just stay even more.

Niamh watched Mallow, deep down she knew Vampire wanted to stay. She was interested what Mallow would do to. Hadn't she wanted more minions? She didn't know if he'd accept being her "minion" but Nia could defiantly see them working together. Whether or not she herself stayed with them was another matter. She wanted to, but she was a little scared to see how they'd react when they really learned she was a goddess.
Nia smiled, "Try you? Is that an invitation, Vampire?" She walked closer to him, "I'm not sure you could handle me." She purred softly and walked away from him, sitting be Mallow. Mallow was thinking of something, "What's on your mind, Mallow? Have an idea for him?"

Vampire simply shrugged his shoulders and tried desperatly to resist rolling his eyes. If that is all Mallow had to say he really couldn't care less, he may be small, he may be large it didn't really matter to him. Perhaps the thing Vampire liked most was the chase, the hunt and eventually the kill. After all he was a creature that craved isolation. He could never truely stay here with them, perhaps every now and then but he needed his space and his privacy and loved the water way too much to give it up.
Before he could stop himself he began laughing, how had the intreguied him enough that he had not started to lash out at them or chase them away? It was an interesting idea but it was also a little scary -not that he would ever let them know that he felt let alone felt that emotion.
He examined them both swiftly with a single glance, on the surface they both just seemed like normal girls, except the swirly rainbow colours in Niamh's eyes where almost..... spooky? It was obvious something was out of place just by watching them. Then you had Mallow with her animal pelt and bones, impressive looking but none of her dramatic flare was enough to scare him. He did not scare easily, just like he didn't back down from what he wanted easily either.
He flashed Niamh a smile once more, her 'play' only encouraging him more despite the obvious that she clearly wanted Mallow more. "Oh I could handle you Goddess, I just fear if you tried me you would never go back."
Her last words to Mallow, although slightly hushed and obviously not for his ears, suprised him slightly. An idea for him... what did they think he was? He would not take a less dominate roll or follow orders! He was not somebodies pet! And he most definatly wouldn't simply bow down and beg!
Swishing his tail from side to side as an outwardly sign of his aggrivation he watched and waited. Ever the silent and patient hunter.

Mallow leaned towards Nia in an attempt to whisper to her. Though she was speaking to Nia, her eyes slanted to Vampire to gauge more eye contact.
"I'm fine. I've met anyone like him before." And, then she finished that thought silently to herself. ~It's been a rare thing that anyone just totally wants to take me on. Huh... If I wanted to like him... which of course I don't.... I just might have a special respect for him... even if he is an a*****e...~
What she didn't admit to herself was that he felt like she had met her match in him. She was far too proud and obsessed with her own leadership to give in to those level of thoughts.
Then, suddenly and in a blazing flash, she sped across the grass. She threw herself into a slide on the ground pushing under him and just past him; just as she slid past him, she sprung to bite him on the neck.

((OK, since I never like to just have my characters evade attacks I will roll to see what happens, this may also effect Asy's reply... XD
Anyways. The first dice will tell us if the attack hits. 1 - Miss 2- Hit 3- Hit 4- Miss
If the first dice is a miss then the second if null and void, if it was a hit then the second means the following: 1- Graze 2- Gets her teeth deep into his neck 3- Draws blood but fails to hold on 4- Flesh wound caused
I hope you both don't mind me doing this..... =D ))

Niamh was shocked when Vampire called her goddess. Well I guess pretending to be normal is over... She watched Mallow rush to attack Vampire. Nia didn't like it but she could feel that both of them almost needed this. She'd let them go at it and intervene if she needed to.

In truth Vampire had meant nothing by the word ' Goddess' other than a compliment, and so did not realise he had -without meaning to- hit the nail on the head about her true powers. of course he didn't realise that. Vampire looked to the sky so not to interupt their obviously private conversation, if he had wanted to he would simply have read their lips. Strange, this was yet another move out of character -usually he would not let anything around him go unnoticed. It was far too dangerous. And he could think of no situation more dangerous than the one he currently found himself in -yet here he was, ignoring his own common sense. He cursed under his breath as he heard sudden movement and lowered his jead just in time to see Mallow lunging herself to him, he moved as quickly as he could to avoid her strike yet as she rolled and prepare her attack he found he was too slow. Her teeth sliced into his neck and he felt a few droplets of blood form. Angry his green eyes seemed to shine through the darkness of his pelt. He growled in the back of his throat and lowered himself into his usual attacking position, to the untrained eye it would seem like he was cowering or asking for mercy but those who knew how muscles worked would know that from this stance he could pounce into action in any direction with only the briefest of hints. He would not let her get close again. "That was a mistake Mallow." He hissed under his breath, for a single second his eyes went to Niamh and then back to Mallow once more. Part of him wished there was another option, that he didn't have to hit a girl or a creature of worth -but the very fact that she had dared to attack without warning only made her appear like a coward and an unworthy toad. No.... he would not be made a fool of by a common coward. "Forgive me..." he mumbled under his breath to himself and to Niamh, so low it was unlikely anyone heard him. It was at that moment that he sped into action. He leaped backwards, twisted on his hind legs and then ran off at full pelt around the mighty trunk of the tree. Before he got half way round he jumped up the trunk of the tree, claws biting into the bark as he propelled himself up into its branches before continuing his journey around the trunk to Mallow and Niamh once more. Lunging himself down out of the tree he plunged himself towards Mallow, claws ready, teeth wanting flesh and blood. He would have her blood for his blood that had been spilt. ((Dice 1 1- Hit 2- Miss 3- Miss 4- Hit
Dice 2 1- Lands on Mallows back 2- Grazes Mallow but is knocked off into Niamh 3- Gets his claws in Mallows side with his teeth ready to bite 4- Causes a flesh wound ))

Initially, Mallow was disappointed that her attack hadn't gone quite as she wanted. He had caught on too soon and had already been moving against her. She had hoped to bite him on his neck or ear. Still, she was glad she had got at least some type of hit on him. She'd have to train in the future to be sure she could pull off these sorts of manuvers better.
That thought didn't stay long before she heard him whisper something that was indiscernable from where she sat. As she went to turn her head to see if she could hear it better. She felt it. The hot slide of his teeth on her shoulder.
Now, something that might have been unexpected up until now started. Mallow looked at her wound. Her eyes appraised it with sweet adoration like a woman looks on a baby when she desperately wants to have one. She narrowed her face to it. She took a good whiff of her blood's smell. Then, she licked it over. Then, she licked her maw.
The taste of battle was on her tongue. She savored it. All her fur rippled down her back in pleasure. She gave a good stretch as she circled around watching them. She wiggled her shoulder. Ow. Oh, yes. There was a sting in there. She wondered though if it were deep enough to leave a scar. Otherwise, there'd be no trace this little skirmish ever took place.
She paused and looked him over as she debated going for another round. Aw,what a shame. He didn't seem pleased or filled with the thrill of engagement. Maybe he wasn't really the type to take for a minion anyways. All talk and no bite.
((also, sya, i love that you did that. that's awesome))

Naimh watched, although she didn't like unnecessary violence she was amazed by their graceful movements. She kept her eye on Vampire as he went to strike Mallow. She realized that he was flying towards her. Bracing herself, used her powers to stop him in midair right before he hit her. Colors swirled around Vampire like an aura. Gently she set him down on the ground. Nia watched him closely, hardly even blinking.

Vampire wanted to indulge in the blood he had drawn from Mallow, after all like any good hunter he loved the smell and taste of a victums blood. But his victory had been stolen from him and replaced by a feeling of utter confusion. Around him a thousand colours and rainbows danced and sparkled as he had been forced to stop in the air and then lowered to the ground. He looked staight towards Naimh -after all he had rebounded off Mallow into her direction.
For a while he simply stared in wonder. Who was this creature? What had she just done?
All thoughts of the fight with Mallow had been erased within the moment, despite the fact he knew he would continue it in a heartbeat should she dare continue it.
When he could speak once more, his eyes intent on watching Naimh for any sign of a lie he said.... "How did you do that?"

Mallow's eyes went wide. The splendor of the rainbows around Vampire astounded her. That pretty much told her that nothing too extreme could happen. If either her or Vampire took this too far, Nia would probably intervene regardless of if they wanted it or not.
Still, Mallow didn't feel ready to be done with this. Adrenaline was coursing through her veins. She liked to spar and fight. It was pretty hard to find anyone willing to have a real go around with. She thought this might be a good time to take advantage.
While Vampire seemed preoccupied with Nia, Mallow lurked into the grass. She slinked her way around to behind Vampire for a few yards. Then, she started to snake through the grass, and she cast a fist out. All of her claws were flung out as viciously as they could. She slammed her claws into his tail, just about where the tail joined the body.
"TAKE THAT, BIOTCH!" She then lept up into the air; springing off to the side waiting for his return assault. Her eyes, body, and spirit all called out to him to make it good. She was all game now.

Niamh looked straight into Vampire's eyes, her own swirling, "I'm a goddess..." She stepped back when Mallow attacked Vampire. Nia wasn't sure what to do. She backed up even more and jumped high into a tree. Now she was out of the way but she could stop it if things got too far.

Vampire was only a little shocked about Niamh's confession although he had suspected something was wrong. Of course he never got to linger on that thought for long as he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his tail. Cursing he darted around teeth flashed and a angry hiss mixed with a growl erupting through his neck. "How dare you - you ******** little s**t." He was angry, it had been a long time since he had been so angry, yet this had brought it forth. Usually Vampire was a predator who watched and waited patiently, he was very good at stalking and striking with stealth. Yet he was being forced into a more direct attack. Fine. He would indulge in it, he would have the red ruby jewels of her blood run red over his claws. He would taste it. Hear her cry out in pain. He would make her suffer for attacking him twice now without warning. And with his mind made up Vampire lunged himself towards her, at the last minute he pushed on his back legs causing him to dart right where he then twisted in the air and aimed for her rump. He was hoping that his last minute change caught her off guard. He wanted blood. Her blood. No forgiveness needed. ((For some reason guilds aren't letting me roll.... so I had to do it in the main thread. -- EVIDENCE
Dice one: 1- Hit 2- Hit 3- Miss 4- Miss
Dice two: 1- Sinks his teeth and claws deep into her rump. 2- Rips her flesh but rebounds off into a tree. 3- Grazes her and jumps back to strike again. 4- Gets one paw full of claws in but is forced backwards before he can finish his attack.))

Mallow's victorious attack was short lived. Her previous success had set her up for expecting too great of an outcome this time. For it was with a great surprise she felt when Vampire got a good strike on her. His claws had ripped the flesh over her right thigh. His aim for her rump was close but not exact. Still, it was enough to throw her off to her side for a moment. She couldn't help or hide a small wince. Yeah. Ouch. She'd sure feel that one in the morning.
She went to push herself up to make another go around, but she found that it was a little harder to walk and creep properly with the stinging wound. The severed edges of skin kept rubbing with fur.
Mallow was still often a mind over matter type of girl. She could psyche herself out of almost any type of pain. That was how she survived the way she did. It was one of many reasons she gained minions from time to time.
She sat up then and touched around the sore spot with her front paws. She touched the wound and found that there was blood seeping from it a bit. It was hard to tell if it was thick enough to hurt her if it kept bleeding or not.
She grinned at him in a coy and cocky manner. Her eyes glinted and glossed from having such a good time despite the injuries he was inflicting on her. Many animals would probably consider her to be sick and a masochist. Her mix of being both sadistic and masochistic made her formidable usually.
"That was a good hit. It sure is giving my leg a problem to stand on it. I can't even remember the last time that happened."
She moved herself up closer to him. She ran her paw over her wound, covering her paw pads with her blood. She held it up to his face.
"Go ahead. Try it. There is no greater drug than the flavor of your adversary's blood during or after battle. It can be a powerful aphrodisiac, a sleep aid, a mood lifter... " Not that she was a vampire or any thing like that herself. Still, any good warrior knew this was true.

Niamh watched them. She wasn't sure if they were done fighting or not. They both seemed for be calm, sorta...
Nia silently slipped out of the perch and kept an eye on them. Hopefully neither of them had dangerous wounds. Although Mallow's was still bleeding. She was tempted to help them out but she wasn't sure how they would take it. The words of Nia's best friend rang through her ears, 'Life is complicated. Some need help. Some don't want it. Others just want to die. Either way you have to know when to walk away.' She sighed, Nia wished she was more instinctive.
