I didn't take it as an attack against me. I simply thought you were directing at anyone who used this site (out of a dislike of the site). In fact, I found the Compensator to be quite hillarious. I had actually made most of the FAIL-Bayonet attachments that were in my bad idea list. The problem was that I tried to save them, but the page refreshed and all of them were lost.
Amongst them, though, were the Scope bayonet (for those with sharp vision), the underslung grenade-launcher bayonet, bayonet bayonet, and butt-stock bayonet. If I had been able to save them, I'm sure you would have found them quite humorous as well, especially from the image of a soldier actually having that on their weapon while keeping a straight face.

MUHUAUHAUHUAUHUAHUA! I Presentz to you, the M5- Automatic Battle Rifle! Becuase I lacked a better name... And the XM500- Squad Designated Weapon; in other words, a .50 caliber sniper rifle that can be held by a person. Ironically, despite it's insanity (being a .50 caliber sniper rifle that you can carry around) it's quite possibly one of my most plausible ideas- take the barrel of a PGM Hectate, swap out the barrel on an XM500 for that one, and then use High Explosive Incendiary Armor piercing rounds for a lack in accuracy and magazine size. O_o This all will be a part of my new fictional design group, Aperture Science. wink

Yeah, I saw those in the Armory. I also have a few more weapon designs, but there's no real information on them except that they have designated roles. If you'd care to see them I could post the images and a (very) brief description in a few minutes.

Yeah sure! blaugh
I'm always open and wanting to seeing other people's stuff; actually that's what this thread is for ._.
Anyways...
YESH!
I'm always scrutinize everything with a fine tooth comb, but, that just makes it more plausible and reasonable in the end, and, it clears up any problems that might be associated with it. Like saying that your weapon is 5 pounds or 8 pounds or is 32 inches or 40 inches long- it can make a big difference when your trying to roleplay with it. 3nodding

Actually, you know what, I'll tell you the honest truth. I'm bad with pictures and names. ._.
I mean, I can make good ones, but with every weapon I go and dev up, it's hard to make original types of guns and names. O_o
So... yes, pictures and brief descriptions would be great. blaugh

Name: GSM-18 sub-machinegun Purpose: Close-quarters combat Description: Essentially a shortened ACR with the barrel and firing mechanism of a G36C, therefore being able to handle the same type of ammunition. Name: SM-96 "Longrifle" Purpose: Long range combat Description: The weapon above is very cumbersome and not recommended for medium or shorter ranges. The rifle is estimated to be 96" long (the line of .50s shows scale), hence the name "Longrifle", and fires a .50 caliber BMG round. A threaded bolt helps seal in the power of the round and the length of the barrel ensures that the round burns all of the powder in the casing, thus causing it to accelerate the entire way out. I also has a 15 round magazine. Name: SM23 Heavy Machinegun Purpose: Heavy Support/Suppressing fire Description: I made this gun on the basis that support gunners may be needed in extended campaigns, and the best kind I had seen to date were those equipped with LMGs. After that thought, I went back to the idea of the great stopping-power of WWII's HMGs, most notably the MG42 and Browning M1919. I combined these ideas, putting the design of a HMG into the shortened frame of a LMG.

All very interesting... But, in terms of scale for your .50 caliber weapon, it actually would be slightly under 65.4 inches. Becuase each .50 caliber round would be roughly 5.45 inches long. Comparatively, however, the Barrett M82 is 57 inches long, with a 29 inch barrel, so something like your .50 caliber rifle would have a 36 inch barrel. But a 96 inch .50 caliber weapon sounds cool. For weapons like that, though, I've considered the 14.5mm x 114mm russian rounds- like 30,000 joules and standard effective ranges of 2300 meters compared to 1800 for .50 caliber weapons. 3nodding

So basically what you're saying is...my weapon is awesome. And I'm pretty sure that a .50 cal round is larger than five and a half inches. Maybe I'm wrong (actually more like probably), but the last time I checked it was just over 6". Anyway, since the rifle is 96" long, I guess a larger round would be used, because the way I approximated the length was to take 8" (the number I mistakenly used as the lenth of the round) and multiplying it by the number of rounds I counted to have been used to measure it (11. cool .

Well, a .50 caliber round is 138mm long, so, that divided by 25.4 (the amount of mm per inch) is roughly 5.45 inches, in all actuality about 5.43, but the 138mm can easily be off by a little or vice versa. As well, for size comparison, a 14.5mm x 114mm round is roughly 6.135 inches long, a 7.62mm x 51mm nato round is roughly 2.75 inches long, an Ak-47 round and a 5.56mm round are both about 2.26 inches long, and a 20mm "Sniper rifle" round is roughly 7.5 inches long (well, it changes O_o). Conversely, a 9mm round is about 1.16 inches long, a .45 acp is about 1.26 inches long, and a .44 magnum, .357 magnum, .50 AE and 5.7mm x 28mm round are all around 1.6 inches long. But yeah, you were close in relative terms. And your weapons are awesome. blaugh 3nodding

Well I'm glad you like them, because for a while they'll be the only designs you'll get out of me. It's a common misconception that I can spout out good ideas all the time (lol, not really), so it'll take me a while to work out some other ideas and sort through them to see which ones will work.
