Cresselia moved about to different spots on the shore, using the same technique. Sometimes she uncovered little animals, sometimes a clam that was much too small for her use. She then turned and floated to the water and lowered herself in. Swimming in a circle, she dove down with barely a splash from her tail, disappearing from view.

The pad of her paw slipped on the surface of a clam she'd uncovered and she pulled it out, unsure if it was big enough. She had no idea the size of a baby otter so she put it aside, moving carefully along the shore. It seemed that one clam was all she could find along the river's edge. And though she wasn't against the idea of getting wet, it was always a chore to dry her dress and she didn't particularly like the idea of disrobing out in public. (She supposed in that respect she would always remain what others considered 'old-fashioned'.)
She frowned as she tried to come to a compromise. She could take off her outer dress and leave on her under dress to swim in. Although it wasn't particularly ideal, it was all she could think of. It took a few moments to undo the overdress before it more or less fell to the ground. She carefully folded it up, nestling the clam and crown in it before hiding it.
Turning, she gave a quick nervous glance before sliding into the water and swimming down to the bottom, wings pressed tight against her back hoping to find more clams for Cresselia to use.

Cresselia moved through the water with the ease of one who didn't need back legs, but had a proper fin. She swam to the bottom and 'dug' around, not worrying about breathing right now. She glanced over when she saw the winged Aurora had come down to help and she smiled softly in thanks before going about her search. She uncovered something that looked light in color, so she reached down and unearthed it from the lakes bottom, holding it in her paws.

The light object in Cresselia's paws caught Aurora's attention and she eyed it carefully but couldn't make it out what it was. It always took a moment longer for her eyes to adjust to the world below the water. She thought it looked vaguely clam shaped and hoped it was a suitable one, if that's what it was.
She gave a chirp of question, wondering if the other otter knew what it was.

She nodded her head in affirmative. She could see the clam was big enough, but would it be strong enough to keep her pup safe when she finally gave birth? She swam up to the surface, leaving a small trail of bubbles behind her, clam clutched to her chest.

The female waited a second before deciding to head up as well, she could take the moment to show Cresselia the clam she had found. Then if it was, or even if it wasn't, big enough she would know what to look more. She broke the surface and inhaled sharply, the air seeming crisp and much cooler than it had a moment ago.
"Did you find one?" she asked, wet strands of hair pressing against either side of her face. "I'll have to show you the one I found. I don't know if it's big enough for a child." She titled her head in the direction where she'd hidden the clam.

Cresselia broke the surface with a bit more grace, floating to back and looking over to the winged female and then to direction she pointed of the procured clam. Nodding, she turned and swam to the place it was hidden, wanting to get a look at it.

Aurora swam to the shore, stepping out and shaking lightly as her hair lung limpy over her shoulders. She walked over to the hiding place, pulling the dress out and unfolding it to reveal the clam. Picking it up carefully, she turned to show it Cresselia. "Is it big enough?"

Cresselia floated along Aurora, clam still clutched to her and she looked down at the clam the other revealed. She set down the clam she was carrying next to it and looked at the two. They seemed similar in size, no visible cracks on the shells themselves. Remembering Morgana's advice to 'test' them, she floated over and pried each one open, finding it diffucult and remembered being told that diffucult clams were good ones. "......These will do....."

"You only need two then?" the angelic asked as she sat down. She thought she must've looked a sight, half dressed and soaking wet with muddy paws. "Do you know how many pups you'll have?" she asked curiously. She wasn't sure if it was possible to know how many babies there would be until they were born but thought there was no harm in asking. After all, Cresselia must have some idea of it all.

"....Three...." she said, as if stating a fact. Of course she knew, she could feel the tiny aura's resting inside of her. She had to wonder if they would have powers like hers or would they lay dormant?

Aurora stared, wondering what it was like to have little lives growing inside, but shook it out of her head. That was a terribly bad thing to be thinking about. It was probably improper (not that she cared much about propriety).
"I'll go see if I can find another one then. Now that I know what size you need," she smiled and turned, climbing back into the water and disappearing beneath the surface.

Cresselia was about to tell her to wait, finding the two was enough, but she could only watch when she disappeared into the water. Sighing to herself, she curled up next to the clams, laying her head on her paws.

The female swam down to the bottom, just as must because she was convinced a third clam was needed as to clear her head. She dug her paws into the clay sediment and thoughts seemed to vanish. It didn't take long for her to find another clam, so determined to do exactly that, and she clutched it carefully before swimming to the surface.
She waded out of the water to Cresselia's side and presented it next to the female with a smile.

Cresselia laid down, feeling a bit more tired then she was used to and she wasn't about to push herself. She yawned a bit, waiting by the water and keeping the two clams close by.
When the other female surfaced and swam over, she lifted her head up and looked to the clam she found. It was a tad bit smaller then the other two, but it was still the perfect size and appearance.
"......This will do.....thank you, very much for your help....." she said, setting the clam beside the other two.
