Eri let out a heavy sigh. She was very tired after a hard days work. She decided she'd just wear her uniform home, and wash it when she got there instead of using the work's washing machines as there was already a line. It was a little weird having these services available as most places didn't, but it was actually pretty handy when you thought about it. "Hey I'm leaving. See you guys later!" she hollered, taking her bag with her laundry in it, and looping her lanturn through her belt.

"Bye!" the others called back.

"Hey wait for me," Pyper called, I'll walk part of the way with you!" she said, taking off after her friend. So they walked together until they passed the lanturn shop that Eri had spoke of.

"Hey I'm gonna stop in here m'kay? I'll talk to you tommorow."

"Alright! See ya!" Pyper waved, as they went their seperate ways.

At The Store: First Encounters

Erina_Nobara
Eri came in, whistling a happy tune; her lanturn swinging on the belt she wore around her waist. The girl's outfit was...odd... A strange cross between a kimono and a victorian dress. Though it was very pretty it also seemed rather hard to move around in. But it obviously didn't bother Eri at all, or perhaps she had just become used to it was all. "I wonder if anyone's around?" she questioned; her lanturn flickering in response.

Epine de Rose
Contrary to belief, there was someone around in the form of a young girl who seemed to have seated herself upon one of the couches near the lantern stands. Upon her lap rested a lime green lamp and although she stroked at the delicate paper attached the the thin wires her gaze was trained elsewhere - primarily upon the lantern stands opposite her and the glow that emanated from each in turn...pretty to say the least.

Despite the question voiced by Eri however, the young girl (who only appeared to be a child) failed to respond and without her guardian (the peculiar man) there she also failed to see how rude this lack or response was - needless to say Locksey would have cringed.

Erina_Nobara
After doing a double-take at the couch; noticing that there was in fact someone sitting there, Eri stopped and made a B line in their direction. "Um hello there. I see you have a lanturn too." She smiled sweetly, and waved in greeting. "My name is Eri. And who might you be?"

Epine de Rose
The girl jumped as her thoughts were interrupted and taking a few seconds to regain her composure she loosened her grip on her lanturn and looked up towards the now named 'Eri'. The pleasant face and welcoming manner in which she was greeted with however soon served to eleviate her tension and she released a smile of her own.

"Me?" She paused again briefly to readjust her grasp on the lanturn and turned her azure gaze up towards Eri with a hint of interest, "Saevem, Saevem Aversham." She offered and then canted her head to the side, "You have a lanturn too?"

Erina_Nobara
"Saevem, that's a pretty name." She liked it, it had a nice ring to it. "Saevem Aversham. I'll remember that. Yes, I bought my lanturn here. I was on my way home from my first mission, when I came across this wondrous and fascinating place. You know, I really like it here, the atmosphere in this shop. It's enchanting."

Epine de Rose
"Ah, Locksey let me buy mine from a stall." She confessed as she sat back and observed the girl a little more, needless to say the young girl was always leaning back and glancing upwards because everyone was suitably taller than her - it was rather depressing in that respect, "I really wanted it so he got it for me but the stall owner told us it came from here - said it was special." She gave a nod of satisfaction having summarised the manner in which she had attained the pretty trinket.

"I called it Brigade, Bri for short...does yours have a name?" She asked with an ounce more curiosity than before, now that she had finally met another owner (the second, such luck) she was intent on finding out more about her lanturn.

"Oh, and do you know what's inside them?"

Erina_Nobara
"Well, I've decided to call mine Mocha."

At this, the lanturn seemed to be flickering happily; a bouncey happy glow.

"And the woman I spoke to, the one I bought the lanturn from, her name was Hakari. She told me these lanterns housed the souls of the dead. I was quite excited by this fact. She showed me one ya know? A manifested spirit. She said its name was Toshi I believe. It was so very pretty. I hope to be able to grant Mocha's wish. I feel as though he has one, and I aim to find out what it is. After all, it's my job, and I love helping people."

She smiled at the little girl, un-hooking her belt loop, and removing the brown lanturn. She set it on the table, and took a seat across from it, in an armchair. "Have you ever seen one? A lanturn spirit?" Eri questioned, absent-mindedly twirling her hair around her fingers as she spoke.

Epine de Rose
So that was why she had been called by the lantern, for a few moments the tiny girl stared down at the glowing lime green lanturn and seemed to assess the 'slumbering' entity inside it - it was a spirit and thus by default she had evidently been called to it during it's more 'active' moments...that could have even been the reason for how she knew to name and commune with it.

"No, I fear I have never met a manifested spirit." She confessed in a soft tone, grimacing briefly as though remotely disappointed at missing out on such an experience but at least now she had had one of her questions answered - now she knew what it was.

"How do you help it to emerge?" She asked at last, a thought arising in her mind that pointed towards this 'Eri' knowing the answer.

Erina_Nobara
"Um...well I'm not sure exactly. I think....if you talk to it. And maybe...spend a lot of time with it, it will emerge eventually. And then I heard it can absorb other lanturns. But that's all I really know. What I found out from Hakari was vague. But perhaps if we meet with her or her son Sinn, maybe they can tell us more about what we want to know..." she paused as if thinking the whole thing over. "What do you think?"

Epine de Rose
Ah, well she did have to accept that an owner couldn't know everything about a lanturn and thus she simply gave a nod and took note of the advice in which she was indirectly given by the girl - her words were sound despite being long but this continual reference to 'Hakari' could only cause Saevem to assume that this mysterious woman and her son 'Sinn' were the owners or at least joint owners of the obscure store.

"I think what you suggest is reasonable." She mused finally, canting her head to the side as she stroked at her lanturn again and subconciously wondered what on earth there was to talk about with a lanturn...she supposed she could converse with it and ask about it's past life when it was most active but this -

"They absorb other souls?" She enquired almost worridly for this had never been a desirable feature in her opinion.

Erina_Nobara
"Well...something like that. Sounds a bit odd don't you think? .....Mixing souls? I wonder how one goes about doing such a thing, and the effects it would in turn have on the souls themselves..." She leaned back in the chair, sinking into it's large cushions. "I hope it doesn't hurt them in any way. But I got the impression that the soul would only gain charactersitics of the one it was given....if that makes any sense. Eheh." ^^; She wasn't really sure if her babbling was registering, even in her own mind. "Mmm....Perhaps I think too much for my own good. Some things just 'are'." whee

Epine de Rose
Odd? Well that was certainly one word for it but given her past experiences she had to admit that she was terrified with the prospect of any soul merging with another - the consequences from what she had seen were vast and they weren't often pretty so how could anything like this be condoned...unless of course there was a safer way.

"Perhaps it helps them to manifest...?" She offered up in a rather quiet manner, really she had no idea for she was not well skilled in her art or so the rumours went, "Either way I would prefer to find out more about such things before even allowing Brigade to be near them..." She pursed her lips at the prospect of a merging set of souls and shuddered, one day the spirit could be nice and then volatile...she didn't like it at all.

"I had always thought it hurt them, how would they like to have one personality and then another the very next day...?" She asked uncertainly.

Erina_Nobara
"Well, my worst fear then would be psychological damage. Strain on both souls....hm...I'm not entirely sure. I'd probably have to research it some. It's been awhile since I looked into this 'field'. She seemed to be refering to it as if 'soul-merging' were a job of some sort. "My specialty isn't really in this area. But I do like to study. Maybe one day I'll find something out. I could always check with Yggdrasil....." she laughed lightly at the thought of that being the title given to the computer system she was using. "Anyway...maybe the shopkeepers will show up, and be able to answer more of our questions at some point. At least I hope." She gave a cheery grin as though the entire idea behind these lanturns enlightened her. For happy wasn't an emotion she showed very often.

Epine de Rose
So even the strange woman agreed with her, it was most disturbing and she couldn't help but turn her gaze towards her lanturn again. For a brief instance that familiar 'maternal' instinct overcame her and she was more sure than ever that should such things cause harm (like she assumed) then she wouldn't let it happen unless Brigade asked and was certain that she wanted it...

"As far as I'm aware the shop keepers are very difficult to find, they're never around when I am here." She murmured, releasing an almost disappointed sigh at the fact that she never seemed capable of catching these elusive beings...then again she always had to be dropped off and picked up by Locksey so perhaps her timing was a little off.

"How often do they appear?"

Erina_Nobara
"I'm not quit sure myself. I was only able to speak with them once, the day I bought the lanturn. I haven't seen them since. My this place is truly mysterious...." she sighed in awe and gazed around the shop once more.

She reached forward, and gently took her lanturn, placing it in her lap. She watched the light inside flicker ever-so-slightly, before growing brighter with content. "Comfortable? I hope so." Apparently speaking with supposedly in-animate, un-sentient beings was something she was clearly used to. Though this spirit would be far from un-sentient. Right now it was only deprived of speech. But that could all soon change with time.

Epine de Rose
She had to admit the concept of talking to an inanimate object was not foreign to her but she had certainly not done it plenty of times to get used to the concept of speaking quite casually towards something that didn't talk back - in ways she had to find this all very amusing but in other ways she found the prospect of helping a spirit to re-emerge quite daunting despite all she had encountered.

"I've found more intriguing places." The young child confessed as she readjusted the folds in her dress and admired the brown lanturn in the woman's lap, "But due to the mystery and unanswered questions revolving around this place at present it is most interesting." She paused briefly and furrowed her brown as she eyed the rather unusual woman again.

"What are you anyway, you do not give off the typical aura somebody else would..."

Erina_Nobara
"Oh me? Um well...it's kinda complicated. I'm a um... er....well.....Okay, I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to tell a single soul. Okay?"

Epine de Rose
Saevem quirked a brow at this, she'd never quite heard someone refer to themselves in such a manner but despite herself she gave a nod and offered a wistful smile of encouragement towards the woman who appeared to be rather edgey in relation to who and what she was - a little like Saevem if the girl were to be honest.

"I promise not to tell a single soul." She confirmed before eyeing her lanturn briefly and offering another uncomfortable smile, "Bar this one but I'm sure she wouldn't tell anyone if she knew it was important to keep what she knew a secret."

Erina_Nobara
"Heh. Well, I awoke on Earth, not really remembering much of anything other than my name and my duty. I'm a Lunar Wood Nymph, a special kind. Some people even call me Yggdrasil. I'm a healer of sorts." She winked.

"But only certain people can know....Err" She looked toward the little girl, unsure as to how she would take it. To anybody she mostly likely would have come off as a lunatic.

Epine de Rose
Well, had the girl not appeared to have encountered so much in her life then she might have found the story rather hard to swallow however, due to her encounters with the spirit world and the stories those entities told she very rarely questioned the sanity of anyone unless they were attempting to kill her without providing any reasonable explanation for it.

There was just one thing that confused her, if she was a goddess then why didn't she know everything like the clerics insisted that deities did? She furrowed her brow for a few moments but quickly disregarded this thought (much to the approval of Brigade who pulsed briefly).

"What will you do if they find out?"

Erina_Nobara
"Well.....if by some means they do....and they found out who I was, I might have to erase their memories. That takes a lot of magic ya know? And then.....well I'm not sure things would be very messed up. I'd have to get permission to of course......" The thought swirling through her mind made her rather dizzy. "What a mess that'd make. And people's lives could be put in danger....If others knew....besides a select few....Well that's bad, plain and simple. So please, keep it a secret between us, and your lanturn of course." She said, leaning forward, her hands held in prayer as she made her request.

That's when the watch on her wrist let out a funny chime that seemed to fill the room. "Oh my. I'm supposed to be somewhere! I'll be late!" She scooped up her lanturn, and re-tied it to her belt. "It was nice meeting you Saevem. I hope I'll get to speak with you again. And I apologize for my sudden departure." She bowed, and quickly fled the room. Her voice could be heard as it faded into the distance. "I hope Kaitou isn't upset."

Epine de Rose
"Farewell..." The tiny girl watched as the woman left and then eyed her lanturn again which insisted on glowing in the same manner as it had been doing so ever since she got it. She released a sigh at this and calmly savoured the warmth against her fingertips before glancing up at the chiming of the bells over the doorway - a pause and in stepped the well dressed gentleman she knew so well.

"Locksey!" She squealed as she set her lanturn upon the couch and slipped off so that she could run up and provide a suitable greeting to her surrogate brother who greeted her with a warm hug.

"Have fun?" He asked curiously as he released the young girl and allowed her to retrieve her lanturn from the bench, it seemed to appreciate this and pulsed briefly as a sign of gratitude.

"Well I found out what's inside it - I'll tell you on the way home!" She offered as she was led outside into the alleyway again and back towards the terrace houses on the urban strands of Durem.

A Journal Entry-After Eri returns home she decides to write

I went back to the lanturn shop today, and met the most interesting little girl. Her name was Saevem Aversham; pretty I like it. Probably cause it sounds so much like save'm run all together. Saving people, helping people. I see a future heroine in the making. Anyway, she was very sweet. I wish I could have answered all her questions though. There was a lot of information about the lanturns that neither of us knew.

Well that is all. Adios for now! <3

Kaitou gasped in suprise when Eri walked in late. "Where have you been?!"

"Oh sorry, I stopped by...." Uhoh. If I say I was at the lanturn shop he'll kill me. "I took the long way home, and talked with Pyper for awhile sorry. Oh but today's Friday and I got my first paycheck even though it's not much since I've only worked two days! Here you can have it. For Rent."

"Wha...but..." Kaitou hadn't expected this.

"Please take it. It's the least I can do."

"......." He only smiled and gave her a hug in return, running his fingers through her hair as he did.

Eri blushed. "Thank you."

"No thank you," Kaitou replied as Sakura jumped up onto Eri's head, catching him by suprise. It was almost as if the kura/cat was giving him a 'look'. He immediately backed off and took his hands off Eri, coughing embarassedly. "Ahem anyway uh... dinner'll be ready soon so...yeah." And he left the room.

"Erm...okay..." And the wood nymph headed back to her room to change and do laundry, with a satisfied Sakura following behind.

Eri had awoke to another day of waiting tables. But she didn't mind. The cafe was a cool place, even to hang out at when she wasn't working.

Sakura had tried to slip into the girl's bag that morning. Eri always came home smelling of cakes, other sweets, and coffee and Sakura was bent on coming along to get some. But her efforts were to no success.

~~~
When she was cleaned up, Eri eagerly headed to the shop, carrying Mocha along with her. The lanturn flickered happily almost as if it knew where they were going. Perhaps deep down he did.
Once again work had ended and instead of going to the Mall with Pyper like Eri had planned, both girls had been forced to cancel. Pyper had a doctor appointment and well...Eri found herself addicted to this lanturn shop and was going to visit again once more. The more people she met the better. The possibility of new friends was always a good thing.
At the Store Once More
kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena finally had an evening where she was home before dinner time. It was clear outside, so she changed out of her suit and slipped into a blue jean skirt of jeans and a chunky teal sweater. It had been a couple of weeks since she brought Rhydion home, so she figured it was time to take him for a little walk.
"It's a gorgeous evening, Rhydion," Kalena said as she slipped on her black, leather boots. "Want to go get some fresh air that isn't just on the balcony?"
Rhydion flickered happily. Kalena felt horrible for not taking him out sooner, but between classes and the administrative paperwork she had beem swimming in, it couldn't be helped. Putting on her coat, she took her purse in one hand, and Rhydion in the other. Her pups, Beans & Zorro, sat at the threshold as Kalena bid them good night.
"You two are in charge!" Kalena said with a smile. "Rhyd, let's see if we can find others like you!"
Taking the map from her purse, Kalena and Rhydion set out for the shopping district where they first met. Toward the Soul Emporium.
Erina_Nobara
Eri sat on the big, comfy couch she'd been using the first time she had decided to stay in the shop where she'd first acquired 'Mocha'. She'd lounge about and wait for perhaps another 'owner' to show up. It'd be nice to meet some new people, and it was good to be getting out of the house.
Mocha rested in Erin's lap, flickering energetically while Eri pondered. "You know, I wonder if I could teach you morse code....ya know? Until you 'changed'."
The light in the lanturn grew brighter in response.
"Yes....that WOULD be interesting...."
kaze1981
The bell jangled as the door to the shop was pushed open, bright emerald eyes peering in curiously at the shop. one hand curled gently around a jade green lantern. The owner of the eyes, a jade-haired unicorn boy was holding a pale jade coloured lantern carefully in his right hand, his tail twitching somewaht as he stared in fascination at the many lanterns on display. "Oh wow..."
kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena found the shop once again, full of new laturns looking for homes. She opened the door and looked around. There were some new faces that she hadn't seen before, and if she had seen them prior, she hadn't met them personally.
"Hello there," Kalena said, calling out to the shop customers. "How is everyone this lovely evening?"
She looked around a younger woman and a unicorn boy. 'How fantastic!' the thought.
She made her way to the couch with Rhydion. He flickered happily seeing another lanturn.
"May I sit here?" Kalena asked.
Erina_Nobara
"Oh yes of course," Eri said with a smile, patting the empty space next to her. "Be my guest."
Mocha shone brightly as he sensed two other lanturns close by.
"Oh my. Who do we have here?" Eri asked, eyeing the unicorn-being with awe. "Are you a manifested spirit? You're so handsome." <333
kaze1981
Arian blinked, emerald eyes turning to focus on the lady speaking to him. She'd come into the shop behind him and was holding a lantern too. "Hi" he said peering at the lantern she was carrying with undisguised curiosity as she made her way over to the couch where another woman was sitting. "I'm ok... I"
His attention was distracted as the lady on the couch spoke up, his eyes drawn to her brightly glowing lantern. "I'm Arian" he told the sitting lady. "And yes I'm a spirit, but I've not been out too long." he wrinkled his nose slightly "I like being out though since there's lots to see out here. Uncle Kori says I ask too many questions though."
kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena looked at the unicorn boy with a warm smile, as she took her seat. She thanked, the young woman. Kalena was surprised to see Rhydion flickering so happily.
"My! My, Rhydion! I haven't seen you this happy in days. Have you made a new friend?" Kalena said a bit surprised. Turning her attention to the conversation, the words 'manifested spirit' caught her attention. The unicorn boy was maginificent, indeed.
"It's nice to meet you both. My name's Kalena Scope. I'm a local high school English teacher," she said with a warm, older sisterly smile. "This here, is Rhydion. From the looks of it, he's very happy to meet you, too. May I ask a question? I am little new at this. What is a manifested spirit?"
Hakari-chan
Hearing voices from the lounge in the front of the shop, Toshi poked her head in through a door marked 'Employees only' that led to the back of the shop. Her bright majenta eyes lit up in surprise at all the people there. Even another spirit as big as herself. Suddenly excited, the magenta and pink themed girl rushed out of the back and ran forward to the group of women and Arian, smiling brightly. She bowed in welcome, just the way Hakari had taught her to.
"Welcome to Soul Emporium, my name is Toshi, how may I be of assistance?" She asked with a smile as she stood up straight once more, wild magenta hair falling back into place and framing her pretty face.
Erina_Nobara
"Oh? I was told that these lanturns house the spirits of the deceased. Once manifested, they take on a 'human-like' appearence. It's amazing I must say."
Mocha seemed very excited at this, and began blinking in a crazy, almost blinding manner.
"Goodness! Calm down! I can't lose my sight just yet. I'm not that old. Heh. Anyway, it's nice to meet you Ms. Kalena. My name is Eri, and this is Mocha. I'm a gardener and errr...a wish granter of sorts."
Suddenly a flurry of pink caught Eri's attention. "Oh my another spirit I presume? Wow. Hello, nice to meet you too Toshi." whee
kaze1981
Arian blinked at the appearance of the pink-haired girl. She looked to be as tall as him and she looked friendly. Arian hadn't really met much people who smiled a lot, Mummy did and so did Uncle Kori's boyfriend - well he sort of smiled a lot and Arian always thought his smile was a little creepy.
The girl didn't look creepy though.
He gave her a smile back, "Hi Toshi, I'm Arian." He blinked at her "Why were you bending over?"
kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena tried to hide to look of surprise as Eri explained what the lanturns were and what they were capable of. Her laturn, Mocha, was similar to Rydion, but the other two were fantastic! An adorable mangenta haired girl, Toshi, came bounding over from the back. It appeared that she worked here with Miss Hakari, whom Kalena regretfully had only sent a letter to since her last visit. The unicorn boy, Arian, was quite pleasant, too.
"I didn't know that this is what the lanturns were capable of?" Kalena said with a smile. "Rhyd here must think I am crazy. I've been reading fantasy stories to him, and acting them out for practice. I advise my school's drama club. It's nice to meet you, too, Toshi and Arian. Toshi, is Miss Hakari in? I want to thank her for allowing me to take Rhydion home with me."
Erina_Nobara
"Well sure," Eri grinned, expertly balancing a flickering lanturn in her lap. "I think Mocha would like that too." whee
kaze1981
Arian tilted his head to one side slightly in interest at Toshi's words. It sounded like bowing was a useful thing to know how to do. Maybe he could..
Opening his mouth to ask Toshi whether or not bending over was all you needed to do he noticed that she was talking to the lady with the pink lantern and so he closed it again. maybe he could try bowing himself in secret - after all bending over wasn't that hard to do.
Belatedly he realised the lady with the pink lantern was speaking to him and he smiled politely at her "Pleased to meet you too Miss.." he wasn't sure what her name was so just settled on 'Miss'.
kaleidoscopegrl
"Please call me Kalena, Arian. Or 'Lena is fine, too," she said with a broad smile. "My kids at school call me Miss Kalena. Any of them are fine really."
Kalena was jealous to hear that Miss Hakari was off in France, but relieved to hear that Sinn was taking care of the shop in her absense. She remembered the first time she met Sinn, and wondered if he actually enjoyed their first encounter together. She couldn't believe that Rhydion would one day become so lifelike. He wasn't just a fancy home accent. She was concerned, but it meant that she could finally have someone to take care of at home. She wouldn't be so lonely.
"I'd like to see Sinn again, too," Kalena said looking down at Rhydion with a hint of nostalgia. "That is, if he isn't too busy at the moment."
...on pause...
the school's having a dance, and guess who's stuck going xD poor Eri
Eri: only for Kaitou *sticks tongue out*
Eri shuffled around the house in the dress she was wearing. It was almost time for them to leave. Kaitou's school was having a dance, and though Eri didn't go there, she was being brought along as a guest at her guardian's request. He hadn't wanted to go alone, and even though he had lots of girls that liked him, had had not interest in them. Eri was a much better canidate in his opinion anyway. He sat in the kitchen, wearing a black suit and red cravat. "I can't believe I'm doing this. Why am I so nervous? It's not like it's a date..."
The large grandfather clock in the hall chimed. Kaitou rose from his seat and went to get Eri. She looked gorgeous in that dress. "Erm....ready?"
"Yeah," Eri nodded.
"Kay, then let's go."
And so they locked up and left, leaving an cranky Sakura on the couch. She had wanted to go along as well, but pets weren't allowed.
I am not a 'pet' she thought to herself as the hours began to pass.
~~~~~~~~

When the dance was done, and they had returned home, Eri had decided she'd go to the lanturn shop once more. "I wanna go visit my new friends," she whispered. "But it's getting late." She grabbed Mocha and stealthily slipped out the door. "Night Sakura," she cooed, ruffling the cat's fur. She had been asleep on the porch when the couple had arrived home and she was still there now. "Cover for me."

The cat rolled it's eyes sarcastically as it watched its master disappear down the street.

After the Dance

Epine de Rose
A click of her shoes and a ring of the bell and once again the tiny girl in the recognisable white coat and 'ye olde dress' stepped into the store. Wide eyes and otherwise full of intent to discover either her previously met friends or new ones, she observed the store itself and then released a delicate sigh - so far it appeared that none were around and thus, giving her lanern a delicate stroke, she approached one of the couches and clambered up onto it to take a seat.

Upon the couch, she set the lime green lanturn beside her and proceeded to adjusted the folds of her dress, seeming to take delight in the rainbow of colours that swam across the white materials as the lanturns on the stands seemed to twinkle and glow against her dress...it really was comforting here if not a little empty on occasions.

Erina_Nobara
Eri, having just come from a dance that she'd been forced to go to on her friend's account, came in wearing a very pretty Victorian dress. It might have been a little much for the dance, but they were the only dresses that Eri really LIKED wearing. She loved to dress up, even if others though it was odd and un-necissary. She held 'Mocha' delicately in her hand as she stepped inside. Glancing around she noticed Saevem. "Ah, hello there Ms. Saevem. How are you?"

Epine de Rose
Oh! Her eyes widened further as she became aware of the fact that Eri had appeared in a dress very much like her own - she was overwhelmed with a sense of pride that someone would choose to wear the same style as her for once in a while and a smile immediately brightened her features following the 'bug-eyed' look.

"Eri!" She chirped merrily, offering a light wave as she adjusted her position on the couch and moved the lanturn so that the newly entered Eri could take a seat upon the couch beside her.

"How have you been?"

Erina_Nobara
Eri smiled, glad to see Saevem in a cheery mood. She walked over and sat down next to the girl on the couch, smoothing out the folds of her dress with the palm of her hand. She sat her lanturn in her lap, and turned to answer the girl. "I'm good I suppose. I had been hauled off to a dance. I'm not one for big social gatherings, but I couldn't talk my way out of this one," she chuckled. "And of course I got lectured on my choice of clothing. But it didn't bother me a bit." She gave the girl a wink. "THESE are the dresses to wear; both beautiful and elegant. The old style gives one a touch of class I think." She grinned happily. She was glad she had stopped by at the Lanturn shop after all. It brightened her spirits to be here, in more ways than one she noticed, looking at the brightly shining Mocha.^^

Arian pushed open the door to the shop, a large.. Well fairly large book tucked under the unicorn boy's left arm and a bright smile on his face.

It had taken a couple of days of pleading, but he'd gotten his Mummy to agree to play something on her harp for him - something happen.

His smile faded a little. Of course Uncle Kori had just had to spoil his fun and tell Mummy that she wasn't playing her harp in his place, but Mummy had said they could go down to the lantern shop and do it.

Arian turned half in the door to look at her "Come on Mummy, hurry up!" Sometimes she could be soo slow.

Kaze gave Arian an amused look as the half sprite caught up to the unicorn boy, following him into the shop. The half sprite had a small harp carefully tucked under her arm and a bag of assorted coloured pencils and pens in the other, while tucked into her sash was a bag of cookies.

"Coming" she called giving Arian a fond look.

Erina_Nobara
Eri stepped lightly down the street, humming a tune as she headed for the familiar lanturn shop. She held Mocha in her hand, and he flickered happily along to Eri's song. There was something different about the girl. Could it have been her mood, or something else.....like for instance the small something, poking out of her back, and hanging off her shoulder. What was it? It looked almost like a tiny person, with small and fragile gray wings protruding from her back.

What a strange sight....But apparently Eri didn't think so, as she finally stepped inside the shop. She looked around. There was Arian. She'd met him once before. But who was that with him?

"Hello?"

kaze1981
Arian smiled at the lady as she entered the shop, he'd met her here once before, although he wasn't sure of her name. It was Eri something.. Or was it just Eri? "Hi.. Eri" his voice was slightly hesitant as he decided on Eri.

He looked at the the small thing poking out of her back, curiousity flicking in his eyes at the what looked to be a tiny person "What's that?"

"Hello" Kaze gave the lady a friendly smile, the half sprite setting down her harp carefully on a small table before holding out the coloured pencils and pens to Arian. Grey eyes caught sight of the brown lantern "Oh you've got a lantern too."

Erina_Nobara
"Hi," Eri answered, giving them both a smile. "Oh? This is Prisma. Silent Prisma."

The name rang out in her mind as she recalled a scene from her childhoold. A bunch of children were standing around her.

'Why do you call her Prisma?' one asked. 'She's hardly colorful...'

'Well prisms work both ways and...well it's none of your business!' Eri argued.

The other kids just giggled and walked off.

Eri shook her mind clear of those thoughts. That was all in the past. These people wouldn't care anyway. "She's mute, by the way. In case she doesn't answer you. That's why," she explained, not wanting to appear rude in case she was quiet. "And yes. I purchased a 'lanturn' from here awhile back. I must say, this place is amazing...By the way, um...what's your name?" ^^

kaze1981
"Oh" Arian said - he'd been about to ask why she was called 'Silent Prisma' but mute meant not-able-to-talk so maybe that was why.

He gave Prisma a smile anyway "Hi Prisma."

Kaze laughed "Oh I'm Kaze" she indicated Arian. "And this is Arian. Pleased to meet you and Miss Prisma too." She smiled and waved the colouring pencils at Arian to remind him that she still had them.

Erina_Nobara
One couldn't help, but notice how much alike Eri and Prisma were despite their appearences. There movement, and expressions were much the same when Eri spoke. They both smiled and waved. Prisma's attention was on the colored pencils. She'd never seen those before.

Eri plopped down on a couch. The angel hovered next to her, watching Arian closely. That's when Eri noticed Kaze's harp. "Oh do you play? Well I mean, I assume you do since you're carrying it," she chuckled. "I love music. Even though Prisma can't sing, we can still perform other spells with instruments and other things."

Prisma: *cutely floats and watches* "....."

"Um would it be weird if I asked to hear you play?" she questioned, giving a smile.

kaze1981
Kaze looked amused at the lady's question "No it wouldn't.. Actually Arian has been badgering me to play him something, but we didn't want to disturb my friend - he owns the place where we live." She looked appologetically at the lady "I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, only Miss Prisma's."

Arian made a face at the reference to Kori, but (surprising) stayed silent. Noticing the coloured pencils the unicron boy grinned, finally taking the offered bag from Kaze and selected a green pencil. "Muumy's playing is nice, but she doesn't play very often. She's promised to play something happy for me though."

Erina_Nobara
"Oh, I apologize. The name's Eri," she said grinning. "And that's wonderful. I'd love to hear you."

Prisma hovered down next to Arian, watching him, and then reaching out to poke at one of the colored pencils. "...." *blinkblink*

"Oh err...sorry, heh," Eri apologized, looking at the little unicorn boy. "If she's bothering you don't hesitate to tell me. And I'll ask her to go back inside me." She thought about what she'd said. It probably made no sense what so ever to either Kaze or Arian. "Oh lemme quick explain here, so I don't sound....completely crazy," she chuckled. "Prisma is my angel. She's a direct reflection of my soul, and so she stays.....inside of me....usually....."

Prisma jokingly stuck her tongue out when she heard Eri apologize. She just wanted to find out what those mysterious things were. They produced color when the boy moved it across the paper. Weird. Amazing even. "...."

"Anyhow, how about your music?" Eri asked, adjusting Mocha in her lap. He blinked happily at the word 'music'. It was something he had shown interest in almost as soon as Eri had brought him home.

kaze1981
Arian blinked as he noticed Prisma's interest in his coloured pencils and then smiled at her and held up a few of them. "Do you want to colour too?" He asked. "There's plenty of paper in my book so I can give you a bit if you want."

Kaze had raised an eyebrow at Eri's comment about Prisma going inside her, but after Eri's explanation the half sprite had laughed. "Well I'm not considered completely normal myself" she said. "So strange things don't tend to bother me." She watched as Arian held out some coloured pencils to Prisma, before focusing on tuning the harp, her short if slender fingers gliding over the strings with the ease of long practise. "And I don't think Arian thinks she's bothering him, although" she let her voice drop slightly so Arian wouldn't overhear. "I wouldn't tell Arian what you just told me unless you want to face several questions."

Arian looked over at Kaze "Are you going to play now Mummy?" He asked excitedly, his attention caught by the silvery strings. He soo wanted to know how it worked and how his mother was able to make it make music.

Maybe if he asked her when she was done she might tell him this time.

Erina_Nobara
Prisma clapped her hands together happily, taking one of the 'colored pencils' and a piece of paper. She had begun to draw non-other than herself, but she was adding rainbows to her wings and hair.

((aww *snugs Prisma* gonk ))

Eri chuckled at Kaze's comment. "Alright then." Arian was obviously a curious one, so unless she had any wish to explain things to him, she had better be careful what she said.

The girl listened as Kaze began to play her beautiful music. She could tell why Arian was so eager to hear. It was very pretty. She closed her eyes and swayed back and forth slightly to the song. heart

kaze1981
Arian had asked for something cheerful, so Kaze had settled on a song about two adventurers and the incompetent songstress who had followed them around trying to record their exploits.

The tune itself was an upbeat one, one she had learnt while working for Kori.. When she and Kirith had been out on assignment.

Kaze half-closed her eyes at the thought of the sprite with the everchanging hair .. Her mother's cousin. The memory bringing a turmoil of memories - even as she sang along to the tune that her fingers picked up, her voice whispery and soft yet at the same time each word clearly heard, dropping into the mostly silent room like a soft breeze, it's only mar the scritch of coloured pencil on paper and Arian's laughter at some of the songstress' exploits.

Arian had been mostly silent - well apart from a 'Yay!' when his mother had given a nod in response to his question and having found a stool, sat on it, the harp on her lap before starting to play.

He blinked in surprise when Kaze started to sing - singing something that his mother did even less than playing her harp even though she had a nice voice - A really nice voice.

He could remember her singing back when he'd been stuck in his lantern - not very often, but sometimes. The voice making being in there less dull, if for a moment.

He giggled as Kaze reached the part about the music lady hanging out an inn window to try and spy on the adventurers and and falling out and getting caught on the inn sign - this song really was funny.

Tilting his head he caught sight of Prisma's picture, the rainbows in the wings and hair really pretty.. Much prettier than his picture of a tree in his opinion.

Erina_Nobara
((*types up a response for kaze^^))

Eri giggled as she listened to the exploits of the lady in the song. She applaueded once the song had ended. "You have a wonderful voice, and talented fingers I might add." She winked, and pointed toward the harp. "That's very pretty. Was it a gift?"

Prisma smiled, pointing at Arian's picture. whee <333

"I think she really likes it," Eri smiled. "She's never really been this enthusiastic about stuff before. I'll have to keep that in mind, and letter play around with colored pencils at home too. I just have to be careful what I let her color on." xD;

Prisma clapped her hands excitedly. She liked this word 'color' that Eri, Arian, and Kaze kept saying.

"I like to play my flute since I can't really sing. And Prisma here can't either. She has a little sea shell flute she likes to use sometimes. It's our alternative to singing." She smiled. "Kinda wish I had brought it now. We coulda' had a duet," she chuckled.^^

kaze1981
Kaze gave a half bow at the end of the song. "I'm glad you like it" she told Eri with a smile. "It's been a while since I've played this one." Her smile faded slightly at Eri's second question.

"Yes it was a gift" Kaze said at last. "I was given it a long time ago." The half sprite left it at that, a funny look in her eyes momentarily before she smiled and changed the subject. "Would either you or Miss Prisma like a cookie?"

Arian looked at Eri curiously "You and Prisma play the flute?" He asked interested. "Is it hard to play?" He looked at Prisma's picture "Yours is prettier than mine" he told her. "I like all the rainbowy colours" he said with a grin.

Erina_Nobara
Prisma smiled and shook her head. She disagreed.^^ <3

"Heh, she likes yours more. She has this thing for trees." Eri grinned, knowing exactly why this was. wink When she noticed Kaze's change in expression when she talked about her gift, she decided not to press the matter. She hated to see people sad. "Yes we play flute. I don't think it's really all too hard. But I always get really lost in my music. It just takes ya other places ya know?" She sighed happily, leaning back in the couch cushions and adjusting Mocha on her lap. "I forget when I first started playing...It feels like it was so long ago."

Prisma nodded excitedly, and drew a little shell on the back of her paper.

Eri leaned over and inspected it. "Yup, that's what it looks like. "Oooh, I love cookies. Of course I'll have one."

((edited xD it helps if I answer the questions.

man I couldn't find the pic I wanted. xD; Just picture a conch shell....like...like in that one pokemon movie! 2000 I think. xDDD))

kaze1981
Smiling Kaze held out the bag of cookies. "The flute is pretty instrument" the half sprite told Eri. "I like listening to it, even though my talents lie with the harp" she smiled ruefully. "It's something I learnt to do when I was younger - something I had some talent at."

She grinned "And I know what you mean about music taking you to other places, playing always makes me feel much more peaceful." The half sprite didn't mind talking about her music - or even music in general and her expression was much more open than when Eri had asked her if the harp had been a gift.

Arian blinked at Eri "But I'm not very good at drawing and Prisma's drawing is much more colourful than mine." He smiled at Prisma "I like colours, 'specially silver and jade - those are my favourite."

The unicorn boy wondered what Prisma's thing for trees was, trying to think of a reason and failing. Eventually he couldn't help but blurt out "What sort of thing for trees?"

He knew he probably shouldn't ask - but how else would he know things?

Erina_Nobara
"Welll....." Eri began. I guess it couldn't hurt to tell them.

((she's such a blabbermouth xD how did she get a job as an agent? *snorts*))

Prisma: *adores the fact that Arian has a shade of green on him* <3 *reaches out to try and fluff his hair*

"What if I told you....I was sort of....a tree? A wood nymph actually. But I also go by another name, though hardly anyone calls me that. It's Yggrasil. I prefer Eri though." She smiled as she watched Prisma float about. She knew if the angel could talk she'd be chatting up a storm, most likely about gardening; flowers, trees, and the like. It brought a smile to her face. "Prisma's a reflection of my soul so she likes plants too. I store and purify energy....sort of.....life energy, just like a tree if that makes any sense. "I'm a pillar, holding things together in the place I come from. As long as nothin' bad happens to me, it's all good." ^^

kaze1981
Kaze looked at Eri, her grey eyes surprised.

A... Tree?

Wood nymph?

The half sprite had read about those, although she'd never met one before. Although not strictly classed as part of the elementals per se, Kaze had always felt that they should be.. After all from what she'd read wood nymphs were sensitive to plants and growth. Just like sprites - Even half breeds like her - were sensitive to air, the element which defined them.

Not that Kaze was that sensitive to...

Arian's voice interrupted her thoughts

"That's cool. Does that mean you have to turn into a tree?" Arian's emerald eyes were sparkling with fascination. "And do you have to eat tree food too?"

The unicorn boy blinked at that sudddenly realising something "Err what does a tree eat.. Appart from water?"

Erina_Nobara
"Well, I like sunlight too. I can eat people-food though. It tastes too yummy to pass up. Like this cookie for instance" She gave a light-hearted laugh. The treat she had been handed by Kaze was wonderful. "And yes, I sometimes I have to turn into a tree." She nodded along in confirmation. "It's great feeling; to hold life in your branches. Even lil' animals come and make themselves at home." heart

Prisma grinned, and wiggled her fingers.

"Yes, and it's fantastic when it rains! Even though the lightening and harsh winds can be scary. The rain smells, tastes, and feels good. It's refreshing.....haha, and I here I am babbeling on. I'm sure this is far from interesting."

Prisma shook her head in dismay. It wasn't boring, not to her at least. She could listen to people talk about rain and wildlife for hours. (xD; )

"But enough about me. Unless of course there's someting else you'd like to know." She chuckled. "Tell me more about you then. Other then the fact that you're very good at baking cookies." <3

kaze1981
Arian's eyes were wide by this point "You eat sunlight?" He tilted his head. "What does it taste like? Does it taste really hot? Or is it crunchy?" The unicorn boy had never tasted sunlight before - not that he could.. Then again he wasn't a tree like Mis Eri was. "And Mummy likes the wind, especially when it's really windy, but she says that that's cause she's part wind and..."

Kaze's voice cut him off "Arian's right I do like windy days - I like stormy days too." She gave Arian a look having not expected the unicorn boy to blurt that out, although ruefully she acknowledged it was her own fault - Arian was just a child after all and didn't really understand the word secret. "As to about me - there's really not that much to tell - I like cookies and sweet things, look after Arian and live with a grouch housemate."

Erina_Nobara
"Sunlight....how it tastes? hmm. I'm not sure how to describe it. But rest assured, it's delicious." xD "A grouchy housemate huh? I live with three sisters who are friends of mine. Living with them is a little crazy though. All kinds of weird things are always happening. I've met some of the most interestin peolpe because of that though." whee She smiled, leaning back against her seat.

The lanturn in her lap flickered.

"Haha. Ya know, I wonder what he's thinking when he does that, just to be random. At least Hakari told me it was a boy. How do ya tell the gender of a lanturn anyway? Hmm." Oo

Prisma watched as Arian asked all his questions when she noticed a potted plan in a corner of the room. It looked as though it were dying. Without thinking, she quickly floated over and revived the poor thing with a short song on her shell flute.

"Eh?" Eri turned to watch momentarily and then went back to the conversation at hand.^^ <3

kaze1981
Kaze blinked at Eri's question about the gender of the lantern. "Come to think about it - that's a good question." The half sprite smiled ruefully "Though to be honest I kind of wasn't expecting Arian when I first brought his lantern."

"Mummy was sleeping" Arian added his two bits in. "And Uncle Kori was going to make me go back in the lantern" the unicorn boy sounded subdued for a moment. "Because he's mean like that." He perked up a little "But Mummy wouldn't let him."

Kaze sighed "My flatmate didn't react to well to Arian's manifestation." Her voice was wry "Although in his defence he wasn't expecting Arian either and he never was very good with surprises. He's been kind enough to put the pair of us up though, even though he hasn't had to."

Arian mumbled something quietly, although the mumbles subsided after Kaze gave him a look. Instead he focused on Eri's comment about sunlight "I wish I could try sunlight - it sounds tasty."

Erina_Nobara
"Oh? So 'Kori' is his name? But I'm sure he didn't mean it. Why would he want to make someone so cute and green go away?" Eri questioned, more so to herself than anybody else. She wasn't really expecting an answer.

Prisma flew back over, leaving a small trail of gray feathers lying on the floor. When she arrived by Eri's side, she smiled and took the little brown lanturn from her. It appeared as though Prisma wanted her turn to hold onto it. She watched it carefully as the light's intensity changed as if it were trying to speak.

Eri chuckled when she heard about Arian's desire to 'try' sunlight. "Maybe someday you will." Hey, one never knows what the future holds. whee "That was kind of your friend to let you stay with him though."

Eri sat in the kitchen, sipping her mocha cappuccino. On the table, her 'lanturn' was resting. It flickered slightly, and then something strange happened.....it was glowing brighter, and brighter, and brighter...

And then...a sudden explosion left a tiny being sitting on the table right next to the still-glowing, but no-longer-blinding lanturn. Eri stumbled around, arms out-streched as she began to regain her vision. Somehow she still managed to hold onto her drink without spilling it. "Huh? What.....?"

The chocolate-swirled spirit flashed her a smile. He looked much like a raccoon. His black eyes were focused on the girl in front of him. "Um...who are you? And...and....where am I?" he asked.

Eri fumbled for words. "Y-you must be...the soul from the lanturn. That's gotta be it. I just witnessed your 'emergence'," she exclaimed, excitedly.

The boy raised an eyebrow. This response didn't explain anything what-so-ever to him. Puzzled, he remained silent.

Eri continued on; moving on to the act of introducing herself, "My name is Eri. It's nice to meet you."

"Name? What's that? Do I have one?" the spirit asked.

"Uh...I've been calling you Mocha. Is that okay for a name?"

"Well, it sounds right. But what is it?" Mocha asked.

Eri looked down at the mug she was still holding onto. She held it up to him. "Well...this for starters amongst other things."

"Hey! It looks kind of like me!"

Eri nodded in confirmation.

Mocha firmly gripped his lanturn in one hand as he stood up on the table. "And you say...this is where I came from?" he questioned, pointing at the object. "How did I get from in there, to out here?"

"........I....don't really know the specifics of it, but......maybe I could take you to the shop where I got you, and they could further explain."

Mocha promptly hopped into Eri's arms. "Take me there."

"Now?"

"Yes. Now."

"Errr...how about after breakfast?"

"Breakfast?" Oo

"It appears....that I have a lot of explaining to do."
