Zoje closed her eyes and began chanting. The familiar burning sensation of the spiraling tattoos that had appeared all over her body, though you can only see it on her arms, legs, and face at the moment, calmed her nerves. The flames on the roof began to change color slightly,into a deep blue like the fire she conjured.

Ovan smiled as he saw the flames begin to change color, "Is it wrong that I find this beautifull?" He said, wanting to take her hand.

Zoje smiled with her eyes still closed. She interlocked her fingers and stretched her arms out in front of her "Not at all. Fire is life. Life is beautiful." she breathed in deeply held it for a moment, then spun around keeping her hands above her head. The flames shot up, glowing bright blue. The flames were still there but the school wasnt burning.

Ovan nodded with her, "Am I death now?"" He said to her, a bit afraid of the yes that would surely follow, "It realy is beautifull though."

Zoje froze as the flames came together forming a giant ball of blue light in the sky. She parted her hands and made a complicated gesture with her fingers. The ball of fire shrunk and hurtled toward her, stopping just in time to not hit her. She smiled at it "Did you say something?" she asked distractedly "I was kinda focused. Didnt hear you."

Ovan bit his lip sadly, forming a small crystal in his hands out of ice, "F-forget it... Its nothing." He said, nearly in tears. He was death... No mater how much she loved him, he couldnt do this to her. I can make it go away. A voice said in his head, Just come to me, and ill make the pain fade away. The girl can have her parents back and Zoje can know true peace. "Ill do it..." Ovan whispered out. He felt a hand grip his, as if it were a dream... He felt himself fade away from this place.

Zoje saw Ovan move from the corner of her eye. She frowned "Ovan..." she turned towards him "stop!" she shouted.

Ice looked to Zoje, a hint of sadness in her eyes, "This is what he wants... Its what's best for all of us." She formed a door behind them, not looking away from Zoje, "You can still come with us."

Zoje felt the tears sliding down her cheeks Crying? She hadnt actually cried in years... "Ovan please. Ice...dont." she couldnt find the words to say.

Ovan tried to say something but Ice stopped him, "He isnt like you anymore, he never was! He is just like me... Its not going to be long untill you just throw him aside, again like me. Or your last husband." She said, pushing Ovan back.

Zojes mind flashed back to her childhood, back when Ice had gone bya different name. They had been friends "I cant even remember what happened." she said softly.

Ice glared at her in tears, "You left me... Not even a word... One day you just decided to dissapear, and you didnt even bother to tell me... Next thing I hear, you're here, opposing my father... My mind can only imgine why." She waved her hand, causing Ovan's things to appear before him, including his book, "But this is about him... So heres a test. Theres a guest comming for you today. You have one year to earn her trust and have her love you more than she does me."

Zoje tried to focus on Ice's words, but her mind kept going back trying to remember why she had left. Then it hit her "I didnt leave you. I died." she forwned, regaining her composure "Ill do as you say. But I swear by the gods if Ovan gets hurt, youll feel the wrath of a child born of fire."

Ice bit her lip trying hard not to feel guilt... This had to be a large lie. She sighed deeply, "You know as well as I do, they arnt gods..." She whispered more to herself, "You have one year... Then you can see the real man you say you love." With that, she took Ovan and left through the door, which melted immidiately.
