As sad as I am to see it leave, what's done is done. The DM guild is going to do the same thing that they did on the DM site...but making threads with links to those same tanks in the guild only. They've even got a plan laid out.

Is it alright to protest on things? I mean, dolphinmania is really helpful. Yeah, sure, it caused a part of the inflation, but it's still worth more than you think, so I'm really sad its going to leave. I might as well go back on my yearly hiatus because of this.

The leader said Not to protest or make threads about it he and Lanzer both agree to it rather people like it or not we should respect his decision.

I really can't understand stuff properly. So my noob question, did the site owner of dolphinmania agreed to this? And is it just dolphinmania or the whole booty grabbing site?

I'd assume it's the whole site. Everyone knows the DM owner was having trouble managing the thing all the time anyways. He and Lanzer emailed eachother and came to an agreement that it was for the best that it be taken down.

The funny thing is that there were already two threads in the site feedback already regarding this by the time I knew about it. Im surprised there isnt a thread in the GCD about this.

I doubt we're ever going to see the words "price cap" in Gaia. As far as I can tell the goal here is to slow down inflation, not stop it. Here's my reasoning: Gaia wants people to buy stuff today. The way they get people to part with their hard earned dollars is to promise a payoff tomorrow - see the MC page where they themselves talk about "A Smart Buy!" and rising prices. Those rising prices are NOT just from supply and demand - some of that rise also comes from inflation. People who are spending real world money on the site generally aren't buying just for themselves - they're also buying to sell the items to make gold. If they can't make gold, and a good amount of gold, from the items, they won't buy. That's BAD for Gaia's bottom line. So Gaia's kind of stuck - on the one hand, galloping inflation is really causing all kinds of problems for many users. On the other hand, deflation can cause bad things to their corporate income. They've got to walk a very narrow line between the two.

You know what would be a GREAT gold sink? Selling the Dark Star Kitten in Dernier Cri for one or two million gold for a while instead of tossing it into a rig or the CS.
