The morally tortured man hadn't even made it to the elevator before he was stopped in the hall by one of the residents. He hesitated before he turned around, recognizing the voice. It was rather hard not to ignore such a thick Irish accent, much less not recognize who it belonged to. It was Molly, all dressed up, looking ready for a day out on the town, her jewelry jingling as she hurried to catch up to the Italian. Sereno couldn't understand why, but he was always surrounded by people in his day to day activities, whether they were just hanging around, or actually joining him in his errands. He wasn't complaining about the company, but there were times he just wanted to retreat into his room and locked himself away from every one else. That's just how he was. Today was one of those days. He usually wanted to be left alone when he was feeling bad or was thinking deeply, he was both at the moment, still torn over the memories of what had happened last night. He had heard about the rage of the island before, but that had been the first time he had ever experienced it.

"Buongiorno, Molly," he replied, giving her the best smile he could given his current circumstances. He wasn't sure exactly how to tell her he was in a hurry to be somewhere else, but he also didn't think he should just push her aside. "Actually, I was on my way to confession, to the cathedral." Admittedly, religious paranoia topped with his emotional guilt was nagging at him to keep moving, that confession was the most important thing in the world right now. "I really need to speak with Father Lerwick. Urgently. You can tag along if you want," he suggested as he grabbed her by the hand and pulled her to the elevator. They were both heading in that direction any way. He pressed the button for the first floor, the doors closed, and the elevator jolted.

While he was heading down he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Sereno took out his phone, sparing a moment to frown at the beat up cell phone, and then flipped it open. There was a message from Nix asking him for breakfast. At this rate it would have to be brunch or something.

to: Nix
from: Sereno
Scusa, mia bella. I can't make breakfast today. Perhaps lunch?

Sereno sent the message, sighing softly to himself as he stuffed the phone back into his pocket, brown eyes glued on the elevator doors. He looked to Molly as the little bell dinged and the doors slid open, then he stepped out into the lobby of the complex. "Shall we part ways here or would you like to tag along after all?" He looked at her with expectant eyes, hasty eyes that would dart between her and the front doors. What if another attack happened and he died? He'd go to hell for not repenting! Sereno often wished he did not think like that, but he was raised catholic by both of his devout parents, as were his two sisters and two brothers. Only his youngest brother denied the faith, while the rest of them went to mass regularly. The thought caused Sereno to start checking himself, feeling his chest and pockets. He had left his rosary on his bedside table, but lucky he never took off the stainless steel cross he wore around his neck, hidden beneath his shirt.

Boy was Sereno in a rush today. Much more then usual. A confession? As in, one of those religious sit downs to discuss everything you've done? Molly would have never pegged him as being so overly religious. Too each their own. Religion never played a big role in Molly's life. Her parents were devote Catholics, but Molly never believed in it. And as much as she hated to admit it, if her parents tried to force her to go to church, she'd throw a tantrum, which would usually end in the house torn apart. For a good part of her life, Molly's powers were completely out of control, and even the slightest thing would drive her into a state of madness, tearing everything in site to pieces with nothing more then a simple glare. And if god was real, super humans would never exist. But she would come along anyway, while he did his confessional she would patiently wait in a pew, or sit outside and make things levitate or something. So she simply nodded and smiled, "Sure, I wouldn't mind coming along. I was just on my way out for a walk." she said shrugging just in time to feel his hand clasp hers. Her paper white cheeks brightened to a shade of red that matched the apple she held in her other hand as she was pulled into the elevator.

She could feel his anxiousness and need to get to the church as soon as possible. But that wasn't because of her powers, more so just by his body language and facial expressions. Something must have happened. "Of course, I'll do my best to keep up with you." she said stepping out of the elevator once they arrived at the apartment complex's lobby heading for the two large front doors. "If you don't mind me asking, did something happen? You can tell me anything, Sereno." she said, watching him check all his pockets, flashing him an expression of concern. For such a laid back man, he was extremely panicky today. She looked down at their hands, which were still clasped together, wondering if he was just so nervous about what was going on that he forget he was holding it in the first place.

"You don't have to worry about keeping up with me. I'm surprised I can move at all," he remarked after Molly spoke, finally noticing their hands and letting hers loose. That was embarrassing. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair before placing it on his back. He didn't want to say 'Yeah, I beat the living hell out of some random guy last night and I don't know why'. Sereno wasn't a violent man. In fact, when it came down to fights in the club or bars he'd sneak out the back door. "Il cielo mi aiuti," he mumbled as he looked to the floor. Then he looked back to Molly before turning his back to her and lifting up his shirt to show her the large, round bruises in the middle of his back. He would let her stare at his back for a minute before pulling down his shirt and turning to face her again. "I am sorry if I seem rushed, but I have good reason."

Heading toward the double doors, Sereno waved for Molly to follow him so they could walk and talk. He even held the door open for her. His mother often called him a Renaissance man, because he acted as if chivalry had never died. While walking he stayed close to her, not wanting to raise his voice so others couldn't hear. "You know those things that happen around here? Those skirmishes you hear about on the news or read in the paper? I was attacked last night, in the parking lot at the club, and...well, I wasn't the loser that time. I don't remember much, but I was so full of rage! I've never felt that angry before." He paused to exhale the deep breath he had taken. "I almost killed the man," he hesitantly admitted. In his eyes he was the bad guy here, not realizing the other man would have easily done the same to him if he had been stronger.

Someone Sereno saw frequently passed by and waved. Sereno waved back, flashing the familiar guy a smile, and then went back to his sulking. "I had thought that I came here to get away from the violence, but it just seems like every day, at least once, a mutant is almost killed by another mutant on this island. It's maddening. I just wanted to come here and finish my degree so I can teach. Apparently I have to fight for my life while I'm at it." Of course, Sereno didn't know how true his words were, that the island was based around nothing but survival. He also didn't know that every one eventually had to fight to either work their way up a tier they knew nothing about or fall out of the game altogether. At least those who lost could go about their normal lives. If Sereno had known that he probably just would have let the guy wail on him last night. Something deeper was going on though, and Sereno could think of nothing else than to figure out what. "I could have sworn the whole point of the island was that is was a place for superhumans to be safe and to work together for our place in the world."

.Syd-Ellise-Barnes.

"Promise you'll call me?" she said draping her arm over the woman's naked chest with the cutest pout on her lips. Her full lips curled into the most beautiful smile and with a nod she ran her long fingers through the girl's blond locks. "Of course love, you'll be hearing from me sooner then you think." she said, her Russian accent like a cat's purr. The girl smiled and curled up close to her, and just then there was a small 'buzz buzz' sound coming from the small black clutch bag on the floor. Raising a dark, perfectly sculpted brow she shifted away from the blonde cling-on and let herself hang over the bed to dig in her small purse to pull out her phone. A text from that cute little gothling, Lexi. With a playful smirk on her face, she quickly typed in a reply, relieved to have found a reason to get out of here.

To:Lexi
From:Syd
Good morning gorgeous.
I'm always up for playing.
But I have some matters to attend to first.
I'll see you in a little bit, try not to miss me
too much. ; )

And once the sent button was pressed, the woman who went by Svetlania grabbed all her things, slipped out of the bed and started to dress. She didn't mind doing the walk of shame, because no one would know who the hell she was. Just some hot Russian looking girl, who looked like she just had a night of amazing sex. Placing a gentle kiss on the girl's forehead she smiled and turned to leave. "Goodbye. I'll call you." she said gracefully walking out the door.

Once out of the building and headed a few blocks down, towards her apartment complex, keeping her pace quick but graceful. She wanted out of this fake appearance, and she wanted a shower to wash the skank off of her from the night before. She stepped into the apartment complex, knowing now that she was in the clear she quickly phased from being a stunning Russian supermodel, to a rugged Syd, with her chopped up hair and all. Almost as if it were a Cindarella story, she goes from being beautiful and dressed to the nines, back to raggedy and average looking. The carriage changed back to the pumpkin. Hopping on the elevator just before it closed she sighed and watched the numbers light up, with each floor passing. Once the elevator arrived on the fourth floor, she stepped out and headed for her room, which was only a few doors down. Grabbing her keys out of her jean pockets she pushed her apartment key into the lock, and with a few twists pushed the door open. Living alone permitted her to do whatever the hell she wanted, including throwing all of her clothes and shoes off right on the couch and walking to her bathroom naked. She just needed a nice hot shower, and she'd feel a lot better.

Stepping into the large white shower, she let the hot water pour on her while she went into deep thought. She was so sick of having to sleep around all the time, and she could never sleep with them as Syd Barnes, always some beautiful supermodel, or a rich dentist, or somebody that wasn't her. It was always like that. She couldn't stand it. Why couldn't anyone just love her, for who she was? She was sick of one night stands with random bimbos, she wanted a life partner. Someone who would love and understand her, and not mind her powers. Another super human would be ideal.

When she was finally done with her shower and all of her brooding, she dried herself off, and walked into her bedroom, grabbing a bunch of s**t out of her drawers and throwing it on, not spending too much extra time with hair and makeip. She used a little sculpting paste to get her faux hawk to stand on edge, and some eyeliner to brighten up her eyes, but that was about it. Slipping her phone into her back pocket, and clipping her shades to the collar of her tank top she headed out, clipping her eyes to her belt loop.

With her usual, very casual walk she headed toward Lexi's place seeing what she was up to for the day. God that girl was dangerous, and bisexual, and that made her game of chasing her that much more fun. She'd win her over eventually, if some douchebag guy didn't get there first. Now standing infront of the girls apartment door, she gave it three firm knocks, slipping her hands in front pockets while she wanted.

Molly.Ellise.Athens.

Once Molly got a glance at those huge bruises, things began to make sense. Why he seemed so rushed to get to the church, while she may not believe in the same things he did. This would probably take a lot of the mental stress off of him, and she needed to be supportive of her friend. Her thin brows furrowed in concern, and she raised her hand to touch the bruises, but she knew that wouldn't do either of them any good. So after hesitating for a moment, she let her hand fall back at her side. "Goodness Sereno, you should have called me. Let me take care of you." she said almost frustrated with him for not calling her when all of this went down. She could have easily helped him out. Telekinesis was one hell of a power, and for as young as she was, she was pretty strong. "It's perfectly fine, I understand. I have no issue with rushing." she said walking along side him out the large doors.

He was such a typical Italian gentleman, Irish guys weren't really like that most of the time. It was quite an attractive quality to have. She leaned in close, to get a better idea of what he was saying, his voice was so hushed it was almost a whisper. This was serious. Her eyes widened at the story she was told. So this kind of stuff really happened? And here she thought it was just a bunch of news reporters with nothing else to do but make up garbage. She was shocked, "Oh my god, so then it's all true? Do you remember what he looked like? Did your powers get out of control? Do you even remember what happened besides you beating the life out of him? Ah-I'm sorry. I didn't meant to bombard you like that." she just had so many questions, she sort of threw them all out at once. She sighed and regained her composure, taking a deep breath in, and then exhaling she closed her eyes for only a moment before speaking again. "Yes, it is very strange that another-mutant- would attack you completely unprovoked. You'd think we would want to stick together as a species and help each other out. What is this island even for, if we're all fighting each other? I came here for peace and unity. Not to fight.." she said, still jingling with every step. Her eyes glanced at every passing person, paranoid if any of them would jump out of nowhere and possibly try to attack her and her badly bruised friend. "We are going to need to be a lot more careful from now on it seems." she said now very aloof, her guard up, and her eyes open. If this was happening as much as the news claimed it to be, then none of the mutants here were safe and Molly would have to watch every step she took. She wouldn't be caught off guard like Sereno was. "I guess we're also going to need to watch who we get close to." she said as the two got in view of the church.

Sprawled across his bed the sheets all flipped over barely covering his foot, small snores escaped the half Russian half French male. His body was close to the edge, with his left arm hanging over touching the cool hard wood floor. Ari's right, on the other hand, was covering his eyes from the sun that streamed through the thin, green curtains. His left leg was bent, his foot resting on the bed frame for support while his other was straight through his mattress, the bed frame, and partially the floor.. Scrunching his nose from his dream, the man went to roll over, only to catch himself in a push up position, his left leg tangled in the sheets. Phasing happened uncontrollably in his sleep, making it quite awkward if there was someone in the room beneath his. Thankfully, he didn't phase through objects without meaning to 24/7 while he was awake, because that would make his life way too embarrassing.

Pasha Ari Chevalier came from quite the different family, and modeled for a living, despite his father's efforts to make him a soldier. A rich, Russian father who's forefathers fought in the wars, with a rich French mother who came from some noble house. He had more of a French accent than Russian, but sometimes it mixed and became quite the mess. Fluent in three languages, the male model could survive a normal life. Unfortunately, his life wasn't normal. He lived on an island far away from his family and usual jobs, with the strange ability to go through things if he honestly concentrated. Mind you, sometimes he got stuck in a wall if he didn't stay focused. Either way, Pasha untangled himself from his mess, checking the clock. It was after nine, and it wouldn't turn to ten for a little while longer.

Running his sleeping left hand through his short black hair, while his right rubbed emerald green eyes, Pasha withdrew a breath, letting out a small sigh. He was exhausted and felt like a truck had run over him. The superhuman had arrived at two, nearly three in the morning at the house Yin resided in, very disoriented from the flight, photo shoots, and near accident he had been in. Luckily, he had phased into the sewers before the semi had struck him, although the smell could make another think twice about it being "lucky." Voices had been heard from downstairs, but they had soon vanished with the sound of a door closing. "Guess my house mates went out for a bit..." Which, in his mind meant he could go down in boxers and a muscle shirt and everything would be fine.

Descending the steps from his room to the kitchen, Pasha shuffled his slippered feet along the floor, the sewer smell long gone from the shower he took when he arrived. There was a variety of food in the room, making breakfast a somewhat hard decision. Not in the mood for cereal, the hybrid grabbed a few eggs and cracked them into a bowl. Beating them and adding cinnamon, he took a large frying pan, setting it on high with margarine to keep his food from sticking. A loaf of bread nearest him was taken and opened, as he dipped slices in the egg mixture for french toast. Once that was done cooking, he took some breakfast sausages and bacon, and fried them as well. Next was a bowl of fruits, and a glass of milk. Not one for holding out on a meal, the man eventually finished his cooking, figuring if someone else was still in the house, they would come down and just take the food. After all, there was plenty there. "Bon appetite."

Still in a daze, Pasha took out his I-pad, glancing over what he was doing for the day. Three photo shoots, all at different sectors on the island, and all consecutive, meaning he would have to hurry and not wait for traffic. That being said, it meant he would really need a clear mind to not get stuck in a wall, the ground, or lose something inside of people. Taking his time to eat, Pasha sat with one leg under him, his boxers riding up unlike most physics defying clothes he wore, his baggy, white muscle shirt drooping. Setting his expensive toy aside while he went back to finishing his surprisingly large breakfast whilst drumming his fingers to the rock song stuck in his head.

☜♥☞ Nix had closed her eyes for a few moments while waiting to see if Sereno would want to grab berakfast. Since she was still tired though she ended up dozing off, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and memories that either caused happiness or torment to her mind. This time it wasn't a nightmare like she feared it would be, no it was something much happier. This time it was the memory of her first time camping, and she actually felt herself relax against the couch. That was the weirdest thing about her powers, certain memories affected her moods and actions. She could control it most of the time, but there were times where she could lose herself and end up hurting someone or even herself. Nix felt her lips curve into a smile as she felt the warmth of the fire against her skin, the embers glowing faintly as they all made smores. That had been one of her first nights filled with happiness, another of the few that she cherished. You could call her weird for the fact she cherished odd, rather plain memories and such. But to her they were more than just memories to her, they were something that she could focus her control on. The night went on, the moon full and the night full of the music played on the guitar. It was all so wonderful, she felt as if she were back at the lake with the gang hanging under the stars. But her phone vibrating caused Nix to wake up from her little nap, and she flipped it open seeing a text from Sereno. She understood he must be busy, and sent him a quick text back as she walked to her room.

To:Sereno
From:Nix
Sure lunch sounds great
I'm gonna head to the mall
Just meet me there and text where to meet
Cya soon!

☜♥☞ After sending the text she flipped her phone closed and closed the door behind her not wanting to let the AC get out. She grabbed her purse, stuffing within it her cell phone and medication. Grabbing her sunglasses Nix slipped on her flats and headed out the front door with a smile on her face. She was in a much better mood now, and she couldn't help but just keep smiling as she walked down the little pathway the lead to her truck. She loved her baby, even if she was supposed to be some sort of girly girl like her friends always said she should have been. She looked at the sleek coal black paint and chrome rims, oh yes this was her baby all right. Humming softly she walked around to the driver's side, and unlocked the door hopping inside to head to the mall. She cracked up the radio as soon as she turned the key in the ignition, loving the song that was playing on the radio already. As she pulled out of the driveway she started singing with the music, loving how she was so hyper and happy at the moment even though she had woken up in a rather horrid mood. As a matter of fact her mind felt so much clearer now, and it seemed that this was going to be a good day after. She checked her watch, and mentally made a list of shops to stop by before she met Sereno for lunch.

Sereno stopped and turned to face Molly, who was now seemingly more paranoid than she should be. "That's the thing, though. I couldn't remember anything until I woke up this morning. Trust me, if I could have I would have called someone, anyone, but I wasn't in control of myself. I wasn't thinking logically. All I remember is how angry I felt towards that man, this person I had never met in my life, and instead of running away to avoid doing what I did I..." He stopped and sighed, turning his gaze to the church down the street. "Look, I don't think you should feel scared now, nor do I want you to be scared. Just...you should keep doing what you have been doing all along, Molly. Don't let fear dictate you life." With another sigh Sereno turned back toward the church and began walking again. He knew he'd feel better once he had Father Lerwick's counsel. If he remembered right, the Father was a Class 1 Energy Absorber who used energy from the sun, but didn't really care to use his powers.

The Italian walked right in to the cathedral and looked around, seeing no one. "Father Lerwick?" he called out. His head snapped towards the confessional box when he heard a knocking at the door. Raising a brow, he walked over to the confessional, signaling for Molly to wait, his face looking apologetic, and stepped inside, sitting down. The window slid open. "How may I help you today, my child?" the Father asked.

Sereno kept his eyes forward on the back of the door. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned," he started. The same old routine. He actually hadn't confessed anything since he moved to the island, but he went to mass every Sunday so he knew the Father well. "First, though, what are you doing sitting in the confessional? Isn't it hot?"

The Father chuckled lightly. "To be honest, my boy, I'm hiding. Reading and hiding. Well, taking a break, you could call it. It's not hot in here either. I like the heat."

"Oh, right..." Energy absorption and all that.

Sereno went on to confess what had happened the night before and Father Lerwick listened and advised him. The Father hadn't said much, really, other than he shouldn't worry over something that was beyond his control, but that he was a good man for knowing what was right and what was wrong. Basically he comforted Sereno, which was enough for the Italian. Sereno stepped out of the confessional, while Father Lerwick went back to reading his book. As he walked over to where Molly sat, Sereno felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, but he knew it was Nix and she would have to wait for just a little longer. Instead of sitting down with Molly, Sereno fell to his knees, resting his elbows on the back of the pew, and lowered his head to his clasped hands.

"As much as I appreciate it, Molly, you really didn't have to come along, or stay for that matter," he spoke up, eyes closed and head titled forward. "I feel better now, though," he added. Then he went off to muttering prayers in Latin.

Molly let out a sigh, stopping along with Sereno, taking in every word he spoke. He couldn't remember anything until the next morning? How strange. This was something she would have to look into. There had to be a way to avoid this from happening. And being one of the big brains on the island, she would have to try her best to figure it out. Some snooping around was definitely in order. While his eyes moved towards the church, hers stayed locked on him. Maybe he was right, she needed to not be so scared of this. She nodded and started to walk alongside him once again, "You're right Sereno, I'm sorry. I'll try to keep myself together, I guess the idea of having no idea who on this island wants my head makes me a little nervous is all. But now that I'm aware of what's going on, I should be able to pick up vibes on whoever I may have an encounter with. A feeling of discomfort, perhaps." she said tossing the apple in her hand up and down. She'd get around to eating it eventually.

Once the two got to the church, Molly watched as Sereno entered without a second thought, hesitating for only a moment she followed close behind, her eyes gazing at all the pews, and the lavish set up in the front of the church. Her gaze shifted over to the confessional box, sensing someone in there. Harmless. She stayed back, and sat herself down in one of the many empty pews, giving Sereno a wave of her hand signaling for him to go on and do what he needed to do. While this wasn't exactly her thing, she knew that some people needed it in their life.

While she waited, Molly started to quietly chomp on her apple, she couldn't hear a word that they were saying, nor did she care to. The point of a confessional was total privacy, and she had no right to snoop.

It seemed like no time had passed at all, when her friend had stepped out of the confessional and headed towards where she was sitting. Her eyes followed just as she was finishing the last of the apple, nearing it's seeded core. She watched as he dropped to his knees, and she placed the apple core on the seat of the pew next to her and turned to face her friend. With a warm smile she leaned over, and placed her hands on the top of his head and shook her head, "I didn't mind, I wanted to be here for my friend. Besides, it's very relaxing in here. But I'm glad you feel better." she said resting her chin upon his head. She didn't want to seem flirty, just being a loving friend. Then suddenly, something disturbed her. A chill sent shooting down her spine, something wasn't right. She promptly sat up and turned to glare at the doors of the church. Something felt, weird, uncomfortable, out of place. Taking her hands off of Sereno's head she placed them in her lap, still staring at the doors, "Something's....coming...I can feel it." she said in a very serious tone. If she sounded all panicky, he may thing that she's just being paranoid. But there was no paranoia here, only psychic intuition.

Evelyn Anise Grant
Master of Time
User ImageUser ImageUser Image

Time manipulation was by far the hardest, and sweetest ability a mutant could ask for was what Evie had reasoned with herself on her morning exercise. A secretary at the local gym, she began work at 11:30 AM, finishing at 7:00 PM. Evie worked out from 8:30 to 10:00 in the morning every day by herself to clear her mind. Her feet pounded on the treadmill, her sharp breaths the only other sound. Her ragged breaths paused every now and then to swallow spit, and the beaded sweat would be wiped with the towel nearby. Blonde curls was tamed in a high pony tail, swinging back and forth with every movement in her legs. Her muscles begged for a break, causing the young woman to slow to a stop, and try to clear her mind once again. "I get all the time in the world to do anything I want, and it makes fighting a lot quicker. Sadly, I can't just do it whenever I feel like it." Gulping down some aqua from the bottle in her gym bag, Evelyn Grant sat down on one of the nearby benches, glancing at her surroundings. Through the windows to her right, there was a pool below, and through the left a basketball court. Downstairs there were other indoor courts for tennis, volleyball, and badminton. The front windows, gave her the view of the city, making her feel like she was at the top of the world.

"Another hour and a half... before my shift... Guess I should... wind down..." Panting, Evie turned grabbed some weights, doing a few reps, stretched, and gathered her things for a shower. She had a half an hour break today, which meant she could probably squeeze in few texts with other members of Yin for later that night, or the next day, which Evie had off. The blonde untied her hair, letting the sweaty, matted curls fall against her back, as she exhaled deeply, stepping into the shower. In a few minutes her hair was shampooed, body cleansed, and mind refreshed of the faults in her control. Unlike some powers, Evie couldn't just merely think of stopping time, she needed the extra push of some sort of movement, and time usually only stopped for a small fraction of time.

Stepping out of the bathroom with her hair dried and naturally curled, make up on, and fully dressed, the blonde made her way down stairs past the front desk, planning to return to Yin before work. Her duffel bag was slung over her shoulder, and her flats made small sounds with every step, making her wish she had a car to enjoy the cool breeze in. Passing by a diner, various fast food chains, and eventually the apartment, dropped off her duffel bag, and left to the mall. If she needed to, she could pause time or rewind it for more fun in the mall, and to get to work on time. If people experienced deja vu, then it meant her powers were expanding.

That was a happy though, having her powers grow while on the island. Grinning to herself, the English dame attached the strap to her clutch, slung it on her shoulder, and folded her arms behind her head. The thought of finally making time stop for a set amount of time, learning how to unfreeze people/mutants without unfreezing time, not to mention being able to control it half way across the country sounded breath taking.
"I sure do sound power hungry... Ha! But it's not like I'd use it for world domination... Just silly things like an extra hour i the mall or something!" Her giggles escaped her body, which made her bow her head to try and hide them. World domination was, in her current opinion, stupid. People without abilities liker her, Ari, Josy, Molly, Nicole, Nix and Sereno could live how they wanted to. It didn't really bother her. So long as they stayed away from her, she was fine with them. Arriving at the mall, she glanced at the clock; there was still plenty of time to shop, and get to work on time. Now, the question was which store should she start with?

тσ∂αу'ѕ fσяє¢αѕт ¢αℓℓѕ fσя ѕυиѕнιиє

Jacoby Rousseau opened his eyes with a loud groan. He felt like s**t, like a semi just ran over his head, backed up and ran over it again. Wasting no the time, the Frenchman climbed out of bed thinking maybe a shower would help with this killer headache. Passing by the mirror, his blue eyes automatically drifted to it like they did every morning and he almost slipped on the bathroom rug as he tried to quickly back up. "Merde! S'est diable produit?" he yelled as he noticed the nice black eye he was sporting. The arm he reached with to touch it was also covered in some nice wounds. What the ******** did I do last night? He remembered walking home from this girl's place but that was it. Maybe one of his friends would have some knowledge as to what happened. Slightly confused, he climbed into the shower, let the water soothe him but his mind was a jumble of thoughts. He just couldn't remember what happened last night, or the past two nights for that matter.

Since Jacoby lived alone, he didn't worry about wrapping a towel around his body after the shower and walked naked back to his room to throw on some clothes. After settling on a pair of faded jeans and a dark red button up shirt, he wandered back in the other direction to scrounge around for breakfast. Upon opening the fridge, he discovered it was dismally empty. ...oops. he thought as realized he had forgotten yet again to go shopping. Okay, well cooking was out of the question unless he wanted a stick of butter and a cornflake. Grabbing his cell phone and his sunglasses from his room, he left the lonely apartment in search of tasty noms. As he slipped his sunglasses on with one hand, his other hand flipped open his phone to start a text message.

To; Damien, Xavi, Dacey, Lexi, Syd
From; Jacoby
hey who wants to grab some food?
gotta try and figure some stuff out

The message sent on it's way, Jacoby headed for the boardwalk to grab some food and possibly cause a rainstorm for all the beach bunnies and surfers. Yes, that sounded like loads of fun right now. A smile crept across his face and he stepped up the wooden rail that separated the sand from the sidewalk. Taking a breath, Jacoby closed his eyes and when he opened them they were milky white as the weather bent to his control. He lifted a few feet off the ground as the sun faded as was replaced by dark, ominous looking clouds. The people in the sand were distracted. One girl dropped her suntan lotion, a volley ball bounced off some guy's face and rolled away. Rain fell heavily from the clouds and sent most of the girls screaming as they ran for cover. As soon as most of the beach cleared, so did the clouds and the sun instantly appeared to dry everything off. "C'était amusement," he muttered with a smile as he walked away. Now that that little bit of fun had been had, Jacoby leaned against the rail as he waited for a text. Maybe he'd grab a hot dog to kill some time while he waited for his friends to get back to him.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXThey call me Sister

Early to rise, Dacey was already out and about town by the time she received Lexi's text. It was the first text she had gotten that day, but soon Jacoby's text followed. The text message from Lexi she didn't reply to, simply because she knew Xavi would quickly occupy the Russian's time, seeing as the two were practically inseparable. Dacey wasn't really the type to text all of the time, so most of those mass texts her friends sent out she tended to ignore. Jacoby's was different; Dacey was starving. She hadn't had the time this morning, between meeting with her publisher and setting up an appointment with her therapist, to stop and make breakfast, although she usually did on days that weren't so hectically busy. So the invitation brought a meek smile to her pink lips.

to: Jacoby
from: Sister
I would love to grab a bite. I'm near the church if you want to meet me there.

Dacey sent the message and stuffed the phone back into her purse, looking up at the church from across the street. Dacey wasn't really religious, but she thought cathedrals were just beautiful. She was only passing, black curls bouncing around her shoulders as she walked, on her way to drop off a package she was sending to her brother who was back in America. He was a special boy and she had practically raised him. His attachment to her had been too unhealthy, however, which was actually the reason she came to the island. Her powers were in control, so there was no need for her to hide. She was an author of children's books, people loved her, and as far as she knew no one suspected her of ever being a super. Besides, there was an amazing psychic here on the island that was helping her with her 'illness'.

Just as her brother was mentally handicapped, Dacey was mentally ill. She didn't just get the evolved genes. While her brother's handicap came about from an accident while he was in the womb, Dacey had inherited her mother's emotional instability. Sad, really, considering how naturally nurturing she is to others, even if the act is to keep her from retreating within herself. Focusing on the needs of others had just always kept her together, putting someone else before herself. It's her moodiness that gets her. Self-pity had always been her worst trait. Not to mention her variable moods can change without notice from the calm of a summer pond to the rage of a stormy sea. Therapy was helping, though, since the psychic could actually delve into her mind and hypnotize her if need be.

Dacey had been doing well lately. She hadn't suffered any breakdowns and the few months she had lived on the island she hadn't even needed any medication. She just felt wonderful. The mental blocks her therapist had been placing in her mind were doing wonders for her. Happily Dacey sighed as she moved into the postal office to drop off the package. When she came back out she could see storm clouds in the direction of the beach and knew something so centralized could only be Jacoby. She smiled at the thought, then moved across the street to wait for him on a bench outside of the church, where the bus stops. Only her intentions were cut short. As she stood near the bench she suddenly stopped, her vision flashing white, and she dropped her purse. Rage filled her, like none she had never felt before.

Cupping her hands together, a ball of energy formed, glowing red and sizzling like dynamite. She threw it at the church and the orb exploded, forming a hole in the wall, which Dacey stepped through. Emotions may have gotten the best of her at times, but never anger, not emotions towards other people, only herself. At the moment she felt nothing but the need to be violent towards the people in this church. Despite being the small, dainty thing that she was. Another orb formed in her hands and she chucked it at the pews. The pews exploded, shattering and scattering in all directions. The explosion had just barely missed the two that were sitting nearby.

Molly.Ellise.Athens.

Molly let out a sigh of relaxation as she comforted her friend and listened to him pray in a language she could not understand. It was such a beautiful day, and a peaceful one at that. Even though there was some strange things going on, for now she'd enjoy the warm sun and the sound of the birds chirping outside. The church was near silent. Father was still tucked away in the confessional, and Sereneo was mumbling his prayers. She tried to push away the inkling that something was going to happen. Perhaps she was being too paranoid. She had never really been wrong when it came to sensing things, but there was a first time for everything, right? Once again she let her eyes dart towards the doors of the church, and when nothing happened she simply shook her head and looked away.

Not more then a few moments later did it happen. A sense of overwhelming rage, she could not contain. Her already bright eyes flashed a shade of manic blue as she stood up, feeling the intense desire to destroy whatever was outside of that building. She knew something was up, and now all she wanted to do was rip apart the force standing outside of this building. She clenched her fists, her eyes still glowing as bibles, candles, even her apple core started to levitate all around her. Her eyebrows furrowed as she awaited whatever was coming.

BOOM! A huge orb of pure power came charging through the walls of the church, destroying everything in site. The pews were smashed to pieces, large hunks of wood flying past her head, just hardly escaping from impaling her across the room. And just when she thought she was in the clear, another red orb came bursting into the badly busted church, sending more dubree flying. One large piece of a pew came hurdling towards her, catching her off guard and sent her flying backwards. With her focus gone, all of the levitating church novelties dropped to the ground with her. She let out a grunt, and a small growl, bringing herself back up onto her feet, she held her shoulder which retained most of the blow. She wasn't going to give up that easy. Now she had the girl in site, she had never seen her before, but she didn't care. All she wanted was this girl dead. Keeping her eyes focused on the other female, five of the remaining unharmed pews were pulled from the wooden floor without even the slightest bit of hesitation. With a quick blink of her eye she sent the wooden forms flying at the small girl, no holding back. She sent out the first three first, to see if she could keep them back, then a few seconds later, sent out the other two.

(ooc: Sorry...my combat posts aren't the best. --; I'll try to get better though. )

Even though it wasn't meant to be flirtatious, Sereno was still slightly uncomfortable with Molly's chin on his head while he was trying to pray. When she sat back and mentioned that something was coming, he couldn't help but feel even more uncomfortable. Or just concerned. He turned around to look at her, an inquisitive brow raised, only to notice her gaze on the double doors of the cathedral. His brown eyes followed her gaze and he stared just as intently at the doors as Molly did, almost as if he was trying to see beyond them. Of course, his super power wasn't x-ray vision, so he couldn't see a thing. He didn't have to, because whatever was making Molly feel disconcerted blasted its way into the cathedral. It was like a grenade had went off! Sereno shielded himself with his arms instinctively, but as soon as he looked up and saw the young woman emerging from the dust, he once again felt the same rage he succumbed to in the parking lot the night before.

The second explosion erupted in the pews as the woman, someone he had never seen before in his life, had thrown it at them. Molly was knocked back, but Sereno had ducked down, only being hit by debris. His back was already sore, but the adrenaline he felt blocked the pain. He stood back up as the woman approached the two, readying another explosion. Molly sent a few pews her way, but Sereno wasn't throwing anything at her. Instead, he was walking right towards her. By this time Father Lerwick, assuming the coast was clear, jumped out of the confessional to see what the hell was going on. His eyes nearly bugged out of his head when he saw the damage done to the church. What upset him was to see the look on Sereno's face, and also Molly's. He knew what was going on and couldn't let it happen, at least not in the sanctity of the church.

Sereno ripped the necklace from his chest, but before he could do anything with the piece of metal he held, he had to duck as the Father used his stored energy to blast the pews Molly had thrown. Sereno looked back at Father Lerwick as the pieces of wood rained down to the floor, smoldering. The Father stared back, put off that he had to use force with the three before they killed each other. The Italian looked back at the woman as she threw another explosive orb. The necklace he held formed itself into wide-ended bat and Sereno struck the orb out of the church, over the woman's head, who had ducked, and it instead exploded in the street. There was already panic outside, but that really set it off. Soon the Guard would be all over the area. Father Lerwick couldn't let these kids be carted off for 'correctional' therapy. He had just missed it as Sereno struck the woman with the steel bat, knocking her unconscious.

"No! Sereno! Snap out of it!" he cried as he rushed over to the fallen woman, to stand between her and Sereno. He grabbed Sereno by the shoulders and shook him. "In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti -- Wake up, child!" the Father yelled.

Shaking his head, raising his hands to hold his throbbing skull, Sereno shut his eyes tight as he came to. When he opened his eyes the Father was still there, staring desperately back at him. Then he noticed the damage around them and his head snapped back to Molly. "Molly!" Sereno broke away from the Father and ran back to where Molly was, while Father Lerwick tended to the now bleeding woman. Sereno went to grab Molly by the shoulders, but he noticed her damaged shoulder and took hold of her arms instead. "Molly? Are you okay, amica? Wake up!" He could remember every thing and knew they needed to get the hell out of there. Father Lerwick moved back to where the two were.

"Go out the back, just to be safe, but Sereno..." He grabbed the Italian by the arm. "I need to talk with you and your friends soon. If it has finally come down to you, then you deserve to know. Now go." Then he pushed Sereno, coaxing him to leave. He even shooed them with his hand.

For a minute Sereno was confused, able to do nothing but stare at the priest. As he pushed him, Sereno, knowing Molly would need medical attention to her arm, pulled her along with him out of a back exit. Pulling her along, he took his cell phone from his pocket, intent on calling someone to come pick the two of them up, but noticed the text from Nix. He read it and then set his course for the mall, his mind set on making sure the same thing didn't happen to Nix or whoever else was with her.
