"Very well...I'll let you know when the beach is safe again, maybe take the kids..or just you and me" he winked and then heard about what the kids were up to.
He was happy to know his son was doing alright, he was even shocked to know Nariko was doing well, until he heard an Acronym he. Momentarily he choked on his own saliva when just hearing the word. After a few seconds of coughing, he finally caught his breath. "An ODST?!?!" he thought he was about ready to have a heart attack.
He couldn't help but run a hand through his hair. "Oh Nariko..what are you getting yourself into" he said practically at the point of a face palm

"Mmmm.....You dog you!" Playfully swatting his chest with a bout of giggles, not as naiive as before about these kinds of things since well....she had already pondered the pros and cons of inviting the kids for "family" time.
"Jerome?" Eyes widening, Koyuki placed her paw back on his chest as he seemed to choke on thin air; about to ask what was the matter when he finally choked something out. "Yes....poor thing got lost out here, something about wormhole or the likes. I didn't want to meddel too much but he seemed like a nice enough fellow. Why? Are they bad or something?" It was hard to believe that Jerome of all people would make such a scene like this....from what she saw they couldn't be that bad!
"I'm sure she can handle her own, love.....she was especially pleased she ah....killed her first grunt." An odd look crossed her face, as much as she was proud her daughter had accomplished something important to her....it just meant she was getting farther away from her.

"Hey...I AM a member of the canine family" he said wiggling his eyebrows. He didn't get to be a smart a** often. The opportunities often slipped past him
"ODST? Poor? Lost? like hell" he mused to himself the interesting choice of words. "Love, ODSTs are mean, aggressive and aren't afraid to kill their own. He may have appeared nice, but it was probably out of military courtesy to be nice to civillians." he explained carefully. He wasn't a fan of the brutes as like many Spartans during their training, ODSTs cornered him and beat him within an inch of his life. Not a fond memory. "Besides...Spartans and ODSTs are the equivalent of A Lion and a leopard. True they are both part of one group, but they will still kill one another given the chance." he continued. He was now more concerned for his daughter than before, even with the news of killing a grunt...wait...did she say...
"Grunt? They...are..here?" He was lost now. He only wondered how long he had been gone. "What is this world coming to...first reports of dismembered creatures, now the covenant are making a comeback"

"Oh shush..." She shot him a mocking glare and shook her head, happy he was still the same as always.
However, any remnants of a pleasant expression washed from her face to leave nothing but a shocking expression with a trace of dread. "So....our daughter is hanging around with a bloodthirsty ruthless man who could kill her!?" The vixen brought a paw to her lips as her face was nearly as white as it would be with makeup on. What had she done! And to think she was trying to be so nice to him....
"Yes yes....apparently a pack of them, he took out the rest of them after she took out the first." Indeed, it seemed like such a scary place, and invoulentarily she curled tighter into herself a bit nervously; it seemed danger was coming closer to home than she had thought with nothing she could do against it.

He smirked and decided it was best not to dog her too much more.
He nodded. "Do you have a name for this guy? There are a few who aren't bloodthirsty per se" He prayed up and down that it was one he knew to at least have been friendly...ish..
"A pack? Wow....Have there been other things? Elites, Brutes perhaps?" he was curious....if the Covenant was making landfall, then lord knows the only problem wouldn't be a few foxes going missing here and there

"A name...? Oh goodness.....er....It started with a D, Dean? Daniel? No....it was stranger than that....." Koyuki pondered as her tail lightly thudded on the ground behind Jerome, remaining curled around his waist as she tried to recall. It usually wasn't like her at all to be forgetful, however the lack of a good night's sleep for far too long was taking toll.
"Dutch! Thats what he said, anyways. I sure hope so, Jerome...Nariko is strong but she has much to learn about life still let alone fighting..." It was deeply concerning, that not only did her daughter go off for days at a time by herself without the exstensive training her mate did....but was now associating herself with someone who had double standards. It was those types she found so much more dangerous, since walls a guards were taken down in lights of friendships. An audiable sigh escaped her lips, looking down to the ground in thought.
"Thats what I was curious about. I saw one....I think it could have been a brute while out with Trovalius collecting more firewood and herbs. Other than that I haven't seen that one we keep running into...Arbiter? For quite some time. Times are getting worrysome; thats for sure."

He listened to the vixen struggle with the name. None sounded to familiar, so all he could do was sit there with a blank look, wondering what was causing her memory to fade.
"D...Dutch?" he said with eyes wide and upper lip curled inward in surprise. "Well.....Nariko will defiantly learn something from THAT brute...that's for certain" he really had not much to add. He had only heard the many rumors of the particular ODST, but never had the displeasure to meet him. From what he heard, his daughter was certainly in for a thrill ride.
"I would hope not a brute. Elites are bad enough. And I heard Arbiter has gone rogue. No one has seen him for weeks" he added in. He had only heard this from the grapevine, which could have been tainted for all he knew

Raising a brow she almost didn't want to know what he meant by that, only able to hope Nariko would be okay least she had to step in; and that wasn't pretty with a headstrong daughter at all. "I just hope she doesn't get hurt.....despite her tough fascade she has strong emotions; ones which could easily be wounded." Again with the motherly worry, but then it was just in her nature.
"Im not sure, we didn't stick around to find out; you Trovalius and his displeasure for new age things." She mused, her tail flicking absently against his side as she pondered the coincidence that Corosina hadn't been around for quite some time; but wrote it off as her probably finding many desperate males for some summer 'romance'.
"Maybe stars are aligning for something horribly bad to happen....it seems like a really odd coincidence. Its....scary to think about." The fact moreso if the covenant was indeed up to something....she couldn't imagine losing him for lord knows how long then.

He shook his head. "From what I've understood, she might not have to worry too much. Apart from being a brute, he's quiet. Saying something would be only needed if he felt something needed to be said...."he paused to think about it. "Then Again..with our daughter...I'm sure he'll have plenty to say. We'll just have to keep an eye on them" he said with distaste. He wasn't about to go meddling in his daughter's choice of suitors....but he could certainly detest it. Besides...it wasn't like his Son was after one of Trov's kids....that would have been a disaster.
"Well if dark times are approaching, perhaps we should...make the most of it?" He wasn't implying much...just maybe a romantic evening or some quality time together. Just like the old times

Nodding her head in along with her agreement to Jerome's insight, she knew she would have to keep an eye....she couldn't bare to lose anyone in her family. The thought was too disturbing to even dwell on longer than that single thought. "That we will..." She chided in, leaning her head back and looking to the skies above.
However, his suggestion caught her interest as she lowered her gaze to him with a raised brow and a soft smile on her lips. "That does sound like a splendid idea...did you have anything in mind?" She inquired, reaching a paw up to run a knuckle along his jawline; trying to memorize the scars which had disrupted the beautiful ebony of his pelt.

He nodded, but noticed she took special interest in his notion. He couldn't help but smirk a little.
"Well..what is that you want to do? Romantic dinner? Visit to the brook not far from here?" he couldn't think of much else to suggest...the beach was defiantly out. "I don't know. It's entirely up to you." he said making sure to wink and eye, hinting that whatever they did would be have more romance than he gave thought to

Conflicted as they all sounded like such good and oh so tempting ideas....she was going to suggest both but a small part of her wanted something even more special; with news of this creature and the upcoming stormy weather they could always go indoors for dinner....and similar to their secret spot.
It was then her eyes seemed to light up with an idea, only to cast her head to the side in a smidgen of embarassment. "Well....there is one place i've wanted to go; but have been a little too afraid to go alone..." She admitted shyly, knowing fully well the journey was too far for her walking and hated to ask such a thing of him.
"Yet there are some cliff faces over to the west, a new resident we have told me about them. You can even see a bit of the ocean but the view of the valley is just incredible.....especially at sunrise or sunset..." Poking her index fingers together, she wasn't sure if it was too much of a farfetched idea or not. "We could bring some food...have a little camp out fire to cook things with?"

He listened and nodded with each suggestion. After he timely finish, he made sure to take some thought into what he may have wanted, but decided that he'd be happy no matter where they went. "Entirely up to you Koyuki. If you want to camp, then we can do that." he said with a wink.
"Realize we might not be doing much....camping " he smirked and prepared for a small onslaughts of things he obviously was.
"But if you want to go camping, we'd better pack things fast. It's already mid afternoon, love" he added wonder if that was what she was going to settle with

Turning her head back to him when she got the 'Okay' in a sense, a small little gasp escaped her lips as she seemed to brim with excitement. It was the first time since she'd gotten pregnant that she was out anywhere from home for so long or so far from it...and needless to say she was dying for a change.
"I'd love to! Really I do...." She began, but felt her cheeks fluster in a stain of red before giving his torso a playful push. "Oh I am aware.....but its still a change of senery and thats what i'm looking for!" Amongst other things, but she didn't really need to guess on those!
"Packing! Yes.....I can get the food ready in a heartbeat, what more do we need?" Already she had a checklist forming in her mind on nice things to cook over a fire, but wasn't sure if she'd have other things they might need....since she certianly had never done anything like this before.

Immediately delighted that she was excited and thrilled, he shifted his weight preparing to stand, not before being pushed slightly. He couldn't help but chuckle and rub the back of his head and smiling
"Well..Food, yes, I can find fire wood and light a fire, but we need some form of shelter. Especially if it rains." He stood slowly, giving her the impression that it was almost time to head out to get these things. "But I think a tent is a little overrated in this case..maybe something else?" he wasn't sure what they could use instead...at least something that wouldn't leak on them if in fact it did rain
