Actually, yes, Sinon was worried about stealing. Senshi or not, she still had her moral obligations. Well, most of the time. She had a tendency to compulsively grab at pretty and shiny things in the stores, but that was it!
Frustrated with the locked door, she released her hold on the knob and took a step back. Bouncing on the balls of her feet she stepped forward, kicking the glass door with all her might. Transparent shards of shining glass littered the floor while Sinon carefully inched through the jagged hole she had created. Squinting through the dim darkness, she wandered through the desolate aisles. A quick walk through the store revealed a section of matchboxes and she grabbed a couple. She ran to the counter, but struggled to come up with any money. Gotta hurry!
“Aaaah! Sorry, whoever owns this store!” Sinon apologized as she squirmed back out the hole and ran down the streets. “I got it! I got it! I got it!” she shouted in rapid succession.
She skidded to a halt and hastily opened one of the boxes, flicking out one of the thin sticks and scraping one end against the box. It made a scratching sound as a fire sparked at one end. “Do I just throw?” Sinon inquired.
She threw it anyways. She had more than enough matches, right?

A woody scoff emanated from the creature being held within the collar of energy, its vines still working on breaking the unwelcome barrier around it. “Kill me…?” the youma creaked in perceptible amusement, “You claim so… yet you cower at a distance… Will you run and allow your companion to be consumed once your energy has been depleted…?” it mused. A shiver of anticipation shook the bark on its body; red leaves rusted wildly, allowing a few more to escape, fluttering to the ground. A ring of black scorch marks was forming around the monster as each new leaf fell.
“Oh…?” an inquiring groan from the tree indicated that it had noticed the first girl's return. “Such mere trinkets you play with… yet you call yourself Senshi…?” Redaple shuddered again, before coming to a halt to see what the woman was doing with the boxes she’d collected.
A loud click emitted from the tree in such a fashion that could be passed as a short, unimpressed laugh, as the lit match was thrown, going out and falling several feet short of its intended destination. Even though the match was wooden and could be thrown further than a paper match, the air pressing against the projectile quickly exhausted the oxygen that it required to stay lit.
“Pathetic…”

Sirius ignored the tree. It was annoying to say the least. Sinon also threw the match before she had a chance to remove the collar and then was glad she hadn't removed the collar.
"Walk towards the tree, get as close as you can. Once your ready say go, I will remove the collar, you throw the match at the tree and then I will collar you so that the tree and flames can't reach you." Sirius wasn't about to let another senshi get hurt. She knew however if the tree did go up in flames that she wouldn't be able to hold the collar long. She would however have time to tell Sinon to get ready to run.
"That okay with you? Once my collar is around you nothing can hurt you, it's like a big bubble really nothing can get in and nothing can get out. It will protect you from any attacks it may try to make on you the second you throw the match." Sirius knew she could let go of one collar and protect Sinon quick enough, she had done it before. She then waited and hoped Sinon would be up for the idea, it was the only thing Sirius could come up with. She had however made a mental note to ask Sinon what shop she got the matches from afterwards. She would go buy something and give the extra later just to make herself feel better.

Well, Sinon wasn’t really expecting the match to fly very far. Eye twitching, she threw the tree a glare as she slid out another match. “You know, I’m suddenly starting to feel like being a pyromaniac right now,” she grumbled, taking cautious steps toward the youma. “Heh. Both a useful and hindering attack you’ve got there, eh? Yeah, sounds like a fine idea with me,” she answered as she neared the edges of the collar.
She wasn’t sure if one match would be enough to get the youma ablaze, so Sinon quietly wondered how she would create enough time to light multiple matches. Slowly taking out a couple more, she glanced back at Sirius. “Whenever you’re ready.”
Soon as the collar was lifted, she ran forward, quickly lighting up a pair of matches that flickered to life. She threw the flames at the tree, later adding in a box of unlit matches, hoping that they too, would catch fire.
She scrambled backwards, hoping that the tree wouldn’t catch her before Sirius’s attack took effect again.

The tree swayed in its spot along the pavement, as though waiting patiently for the two girls to do whatever they were going to do. Then again, it wasn’t as though it could do much while being trapped within the confines of the ring of energy. Redaple had all day to wait for them, for its energy could hold out over that of two human girls.
Finally, the first Senshi acted, moving towards it with the lit matches, and then the energy ring was removed. But then the youma did something unusual… Instead of trying to flick the matches away, it reached out with its vine-like fingers and scooped one out of the air, still lit. The other didn’t go out either, but dropped into the crevasses of the wood, along with the haphazardly thrown, unlit box.
“Do you really believe that I would be afraid of being burned…?” it creaked a scoff, lifting the match to its own head, letting the flames catch on the rouge leaves. They lit quickly, crackling and burning as they were consumed and turned to ash. “We shall see how much of a coward you really are…” Redaple groaned under the sizzling and snapping of the fire, shifting its root-legs forward, towards the two girls now that one was in the barrier, and the other was forming the barrier.
Vines reached out as it drew closer, prepared to grab onto the woman inside the barrier, should it falter, and more vines reached towards the other girl. Either way, it would have one of them, if it was the last thing it did.

That was when Sirius noticed her mistake. She should have just collared the tree again.
"Damn it" The fire was attacking the collar as well as the tree. The tree was just idiotic, that was the first thing that came to mind. It would eventually die, the fire would kill it - it's a tree! For now though she had to think and act fast. Sinon was safe, nothing could touch her but it would because Sirius could feel the energy slipping away. They needed to both be a distance away so they can keep an eye on the tree and is burnt to death.
Sirius then let the collar slip off Sinon and as quickly as she could collared the tree again.
"Sinon get over here, I can't hold it much longer." Sirius watched the tree carefully trying to work out what they could do. The fire in the tree would also cause people to notice something. They had to kill it and soon. They needed an axe or something sharp... one of these days Sirius was just going to carry anything she could on her back!

Sinon was startled to watch the tree grab for the matches, undeterred by the minute flames that brightly flickered in the dim lighting of the evening. She frowned and bit back the uneasiness that began to settle in her glaring eyes. The tree would burn without a doubt, she was confident about that. It was a frigging tree after all. Now the real concern was whether the youma would burn fast enough.
As the vines crept up against the barrier that the collar provided, Sinon took a few cautious steps back. It wasn’t long before the shield of energy dissipated and quickly wrapped around the tree a second time. Obviously realizing the change in plans, she ran over to Sirius. “Yeah, I sorta figured.” She stood back and watched the tree, the flame slowly licking up the bark. “We could run and have the tree chase us, to bide time for the fire to do its job or even use the time to find something to finish it off for good,” she suggested, already taking slow steps back from the youma.

“Do you really think you will be able to escape me…? Escape us…? The Senshi will fall… it is only a matter of time…” the tree groaned out its threat, beneath the dull roar of the flames that were beginning to consume it. Redaple had underestimated the girl’s ability to hold up the barrier, and was much too slow to be able to reach out and grab hold of one of them in time. No matter… it was resilient and would hang on as long as it could. It was used to the burns, after all; the leaves that scorched whatever they touched were part of the youma’s body. It could withstand at least a little heat.
Once it was fully engulfed, though… that would be a different story. But for now, it could manage to hold its own.
The tree let out a noise that sounded much like a growl, shaking its now flaming head to release the burning leaves onto the barrier as vines whipped against the cage. It may be trapped, but not moving was what it did best — as mentioned, it is a tree, after all. Regardless; the sooner it could break the barrier, the sooner it could get on to doing its duty, preferably after finding a way to put itself out.

Sirius nodded it sounded like a good plan but she was tiring big time, running for long wouldn't be an option.
"Do you know anywhere near by? A big open space where we can lead it?" She spoke quietly hoping that it wouldn't be able to hear them. She didn't know how clever these youma were and she wasn't about to risk finding out either.
"If we can get it away from most houses so that it won't set fire to them then at least it won't hurt anyone else while it's burning down." Sirius watched the tree in the collar and wondered how long it took for a tree to be engulfed in flames. She knew the minute that happened the collar would vanish, she couldn't hold in fire. There were also buildings so close by and if it started setting them alight they would end up in more trouble. They needed an open space for a tree to die in.

“A big open space, hm? That makes sense,” Sinon grumbled, cupping her chin as she angled her gaze away from the tree. Briefly glancing at the nearby shops, she envisioned a map in her head, searching for an area large enough to prevent Redaple from doing any major damage to the town. “There should be a plaza near here. Turn right up ahead and go down a couple blocks. If we can get it there, then damage should be minimized,” she answered after a few seconds.
She bent her knees and began to lightly jump in place, eager to race off. How fast would the tree amble after them? Sinon didn’t think it would be very fast, but she was slower in these boots too. So perhaps they were somewhat even.
“Of course, if you happen to pass by a store that has something that’ll beat down that tree even more, feel free to take a detour, yeah?” she added as an afterthought. “You seem tired, so I’ll cover for you.” She took another few steps back, and once she saw Sirius leave, followed after her.

The tree shifted in place, watching the two Senshi as they discussed what to do with it. It creaked out a woody laugh at their expense, “You think I would be so easy to manipulate…?” Maybe earlier, but it knew it was running out of time now. It could still carry out its mission while it was still alive. “Soon… the entire Negaverse will be alerted to our position… Your ends are near, Senshi…” it groaned, shaking its flame covered head and letting another cloud of ash and smoke rise into the air. “Even if it isn’t the Negaverse… humans will become curious… and I shall steal all of their starseeds…” How long would it take for someone to call into the fire department about suspicious smoke, or even a burning tree…?
Redaple whipped its long vines against the barrier once more, breaking a few of its bark covered fingers off, but no matter — new ones were already beginning to grow back to replace it. Eventually, the Senshi would run out of energy and it will have its chance once more.

"Okay, I will let it go and you start running that way. I am going to take a detour to find something to help that fire along or to kill it. You will have more energy then me to run but I will be as quick as I can." Sirius smiled, though it was weak. She had tried to talk as quietly as she could so that the youma tree wouldn't hear them. If it knew the plan then that could cause problems.
"Go." She called to Sinon not really waiting to hear if she had any objections. She then let the collar go and ran down the nearest street before jumping on to a building and out of sight of the youma. Here she rested, she had to. She took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes for a minute. She was feeling so weak, holding fire... something not to do very often. She would remember that.
She got up soon enough though and headed towards the nearest shop. She wanted some fuel, petrol, oil... can's... deodorant cans or air freshener... anything that would go bang in a fire. She sneaked in to a shop, accidentally setting off an alarm. She grabbed what she needed though and ran, hopefully she would meet up with Sinon and the tree quick enough to throw these into the fire. Yes a mini explosion may happen... but if it was an open space it should be okay. At least Sirius hoped so.

Slight change of plans, but it wasn’t deviating that much. Sinon curtly nodded her head. “Got it. Careful, Sirius,” she cautioned before dashing off, her boots clumsily plunking against the ground. She lamented her lack of comfortable, easy-to-run-in shoes yet again. Senshi uniforms clearly did not understand the meaning of practicality. High heels? Skirts? Yeah, senshi with skirts will totally be fine during the winter and can prance around in heels no problem. Mmhm.
Reaching the turn up ahead, she skidded to a halt so that Sinon could change directions. She raced down the streets, occasionally glancing back to see if Redaple was trotting along after her. Passing by the final block she silently cheered when she entered the plaza. Sinon slowed to a halt and turned around to face the tree, almost as if she had been cornered. She stared at the youma. “Ya can’t do as much damage in a wide area like this! Don’t you agree?” she called out, silently hoping that Sirius would show up soon.

Redaple had watched as the girls as they split up, before eventually deciding to try and catch the Senshi it had originally been fighting. It trudged its way down the street after her, still alight and burning, but it didn’t seem as though it was going to be slowing down yet. “Coward… Keep running… you will run out of energy soon enough…” it groaned, though it was starting to think that this Senshi was going to be more difficult to destroy than it first thought. No matter… her starseed would belong to the Negaverse before the night was through.
"It seems as though your... friend... has left you... She isn't coming back..." it creaked, hoping to intimidate the lone girl. It was surprised that no one else had shown their face yet, but it was only a matter of time. In a plaza like this, there was more of an opportunity for more people to see it and get curious. That was when Redaple would strike.

Sirius had climbed up on to a roof to see where Sinon had taken the youma. It wasn't hard to see the red glow moving in the streets and so Sirius followed from above, her arms full of cans that she knew would explode in a fire. It might not have been the most subtle way to kill something but it would have to work.
She dropped back down to the street behind the youma, in time to hear it say she wasn't coming back. At least it was distracted. She then threw a can at the tree hoping that it would fall either straight in to the fire or get caught up in the branches. She then turned and jumped up on to the nearest building behind her, keeping a fair distance from the tree. She needed to get to Sinon after all, and she was exhausted, if the tree got her that would quite possibly be the end of her.
She jumped back down once past the tree and ran to Sinon.
"Here take some of these and aim for the fire. These should help bring it down." She stuttered a little as she pushed some of the can's at Sinon. She was so clearly exhausted it was a wonder she had made it back to them. She wouldn't give up though, she just hoped no police would turn up soon because she wasn't sure she had the energy to run from them as well.
