Zink reached out and flicked at the cup of 'coffee' he had discarded and looked thoughtfully at Ladon's sandwich.
"Some civilians would bother you... same as myself. There is no getting around that, It would be convenient if the whole negaverse worked with a little more organization on who could be 'hit' if you catch my drift.
His mind wandered to Beth's mother and he shook his head regretful.
"Come on...this is ridiculous. I'm dead on my feet and so are you. Besides which I am tired of eating what they are trying to pass off as food. If we didn't need them I think I'd start picking off the cafeteria workers here for crimes against humanity." he joked and stood up. To what end though? It sounded rather like he wanted Ladon to follow.

The note of civilians made him consider Tate. There were some civilians he wouldn’t want touched, the list going from his family to his few friends. Zac already knew how far he went to protect Tate who was just a civilian, and though Zac wasn’t going to touch him, that didn’t mean any other Negaverser would pick her off if she wasn’t careful. There was no way to tag people you didn’t want killed by the Negaverse, or at least not one that was in effect at the moment. It might be something to look into, or at least address.
When the shorter boy rose, he expected for this to be an end to their brief yet serious chat, but the way Zac stood up as if to make a point and looked at him caused him to slowly ease up from his seat to follow his lead. “Isn’t that the truth? I don’t think the hospital would be crying over loosing their staff, and what better place to leave them after it’s done than here. They’d just think they died on their own cooking.” He would really have to pack his own food if he visited this long again. There was no way he was going to make a meal out of what was stocked in the vending machine.
Taking his tray, he threw his sandwich away, thinking that it wasn’t wasteful to throw out something that even a hobo wouldn’t bother with, and exited the cafeteria with his teammate.

Zac made his way down the cot lined halls heading quite clearly for the door as he moved, even as a civilian there was a sort of intensity of purpose that he worse when he had a fixed goal in mind, despite his stature he seemed taller for it.
"There is a mom and pops diner just around the corner, I'm treating to food there. Pick a night when we will work together and I'll schedule accordingly?" He said, while the end of his statement rose in question it carried the finality of a statement. After all...who could object to patrols and good food?
"You can choose a book at the corner store if you like too... they may not have the best variety but they weren't all bodice rippers either." He assured Ladon.

They made their way towards the front doors, past people who were either trying to stay longer or relatives just coming in to see loved ones. There had been a new rush of people once the city was allowed to accept visitors again. When he stepped out, he suddenly felt a way of exhaustion hit him full force, and he steadied himself. While sitting and having a very late dinner (or early breakfast) would be nice, he felt he needed to sleep more than he needed to eat. Whatever they would talk about was sure to go through one ear and out the other at this rate, and he was surprised he managed this long. Sitting down apparently had been the only thing keeping him conscious, and he needed to head to Ivan’s place while he could still keep his eyes open.
Removing his hand from his forehead, he looked at Zac, who while tired was handling it better than he was. What could Ladon say? He had a sleep schedule that he stuck to and recent patrols and sleeping wherever seemed comfortable was not doing him any good. “That sounds great, but I don’t think I can stay awake much longer. Sorry. How about I send you a text and set something up for patrols. I don’t think I’ll be much of a talker if I go out and eat now. I better head on ..well, to bed.” He couldn’t call it home after all. His house was empty, devoid of life.
He looked to Zac and didn’t know how else to say goodbye. “Um..It was nice talking with you. I’ll see you later then?” He paused, and then took a few steps to show he would be on his way. “Till then, Later. Have a good night. Don’t stay up too long.” Ugh, he sounded like a mother, but really, it wasn’t good when Zac looks tired too. With that, he started to headed off, his head feeling numb and full at the same time, and wonder just exactly patrolling with Zac of all people would be like. Interesting to say the least.

Zink paused for a moment as though he were absorbing the shift in plans, reassembling whatever plan had already been laid out in his head and then nodded.
"You Either... text, or call." He nodded in approval. "I'll answer as soon as I can." What else was there to say? Visiting hours were almost over for the day, he was far too tired to patrol safely so he opted to make the walk back to his own house... not even the dorm room, there was just too much guilt there for arguments and anger. Why was it that the universe seemed to enjoy such moments to point a finger and say 'now... now when you will most regret that fight, you can't apologize'
