"Not particularly, unless you count Jaina or my former foster sibs," E'lai said with a shrug. Some had Impressed, some hadn't, and some had left for other Weyrs or Holds or crafthalls, but he tried to make a point of keeping in touch with everyone. Though weyrlife tended towards more transient bonds, E'lai thought combining weyr and Hold approaches on 'family' the best course of action. "Everyone's doing well--my sister who went up to Eron just had her first child, a little girl." She'd left for a change of scenery and stayed because of a handsome lad. He was happy for her though, they made a nice little family.

Blue and pink do go well together. Pink will look nice against my coloring too.
The green's eyes whirled happily as her tail twitched from side to side in almost impatience at the thought of her future acquisitions--she rather wanted them now, at the thought of how nice they would look.

S'ren smiled at the news. "Well congratulations. I suppose that makes you an uncle now, eh? Think you'll be able to get any time off to go visit her?" E'lai had a rather larger family, but it was good that he tried to keep ties with all of them. Not many at the Weyr made such an effort. He himself also visited his family on occasion, but considering that they worked with the beasts it wasn't that hard to find them during his free time.

Tereth nodded in agreement with Elti's words. You have the right coloring for it. I don't think many would look as nice with it.

"I think so--just a short trip probably, but it'll be nice to see her again, and meet the baby. Besides being an uncle, having a dragonrider uncle will be pretty handy, I'd think," the greenrider said with a chuckle. He was well aware of the fact that while dragons might be held in awe, outside of Threadfall they were often best used as quick transportation--and he didn't mind his relatives using him for such purposes. He got to visit all sorts of places in the process, so it was a win-win situation.

Eltimioth shamelessly adopted a preening posture. Mmm~ After all, queens are shiny enough that they would overwhelm any additions. Crimsons would have to be more careful with colors too. She had clearly spent time pondering this before.

"It certainly would be. You'll have to give everyone a hello for me." S'ren found a couple of shells just then, and bent down to pick them up. "Think these will do?" He had missed the memo that they would now need to be searching for blue shells as well, not having been paying much attention to the dragon's conversation. From what he heard, it mostly just involved flattering the green.

That is true, although even among greens your hue is just right for these colors, he remarked, nosing around for more shells. Have you heard any interesting news around the Weyr recently? And now was time for the two dragons' second favorite pastime: gossip.

"Will do," E'lai said cheerily, resuming his search as well, though of course he was interrupted by S'ren's question. "Mm, they'll do. I think she wanted blues now, too--I don't think we'll find too many of them but in case you do..." He was both amused and slightly mortified by the green's utter shamelessness, but that was just the kind of dragon Eltimioth was.

Of course! Eltimioth said brightly. She rattled through a short list of the most interesting tidbits--who was proddy and soon to take Flight, potential contenders, fallings-out between weyrmates, rumors about the visitors from the North who'd come around to ask nosy questions...the works of the past few days since they'd had a good long chat.

"Blue as well? That'll be harder to find." Ah well, it was no surprise that Eltimioth had very particular tastes, and the hunt was certain to go my a lot faster with them all working together than if it were simply E'lai doing the searching.

Tereth listened with rapt attention (especially to the part on who might be rising soon) to all the news, and added in his own few tidbits of gathered information here and there. He never gathered anywhere near as much news as Eltimioth, but he occasionally picked up information here and there. Whatever information he could remember anyway.

They passed another hour or two so pleasantly engaged before deciding it was time to head back to the Weyr. E'lai instructed S'ren in proper packing methods so the shells weren't shattered in transport, they loaded their dragons, and between they went, emerging back above Trine's lake.

It wasn't hard work getting the shells into E'lai and Eltimioth's weyr (though it did require a couple trips to retrieve each carefully packed bundle). "You'll probably want to get out of here before she cons you into helping organize the new arrivals," E'lai said wryly on their last trip in.

I heard that!

"You were meant to!"

S'ren laughed at E'lai's warning. "Probably not a bad idea. Think you'll be alright with that though? Sounds like quite the daunting task." They had collected a lot of shells after all.

If you feel like going for a dip in the lake later let me know, Tereth said pleasantly to Elti. Though they had just spent the past few hours at the beach, they hadn't actually gone into the water at all. In the meantime though, may we go visit the harpers, Mine? I enjoy listening to their practice.

"Ah, certainly. I'm sure they'll be glad to see you as well." The pair were quite a common sight to the harpers, given that his dragon was quite strongly addicted to music. His own appreciation for the craft had grown as well since his Impression with Tereth, and listening to the singing and playing made for an enjoyable evening pastime.

E'lai grinned. "I'll manage somehow." It was soothing work, in a way, and it put Eltimioth in a good mood. There were worse ways to spend one's time.

We will see, Eltimioth replied, just as pleasantly. She rather suspected cataloging their finds would take her the rest of the day though. Have fun with the Harpers! You should have them write a song about you. She thought at the very least Tereth who loved music so much ought to have a song of his very own.

Tereth rumbled a chuckle at the suggestion. I would hardly think to ask for such a thing. I've done nothing worthy of being in a song. Songs were best saved for the heroes of their kind after all.

"I guess we'll see you two later then," S'ren said with a smile as they started to head out of the weyr. "Don't be a stranger."
