yugioh is just about the worst card game i've ever played...you think mirrodin was unbalanced? how about every yugioh set ever? haha. seriously, like so many cards are restricted, but they're so good that you HAVE to have on in your deck...so every deck looks the same, except for about 7 cards that vary a little. i don't know...maybe i'm wrong, or maybe that's just one format, but last time i checked, it was that way.

I loved Kamigawa block. I'm a huge Vorthos and fell in love with the Japanese theme of it, and I really liked several cards. Dampen Thought was just plain awesome, and there were many pimp legends. But that's all from a casual perspective. I can't tell you if it sucked tourny wise or not. I don't do tournies.

I personally hated the feel of the deck and there were very few cards that were worth any time or money. I actually stopped buying cards until Raivninica came out.

Engel Kind AS a block it sucked there were very few good card that came out of it. All of the good card were sider board cards for the most part very few playible cards. The uncommons and commons from that set are worth more than al of the rares. Well....they're are a lot more uncommons and commons then rares, so that's kind obvious xd The set as a whole WAS a bit lackluster but we did get some sweet little goodies from Kamigawa like the oh so somewhat broken, but not really Jitte, Pithing Needle, Twincast, Cranial Extraction, Sensei's devining top, and Kokusho among others.

Well, the set in whole I didn't like that much. I felt as if they came up with a nice idea, which when I first heard of it thought it would be really cool, and they just didn't do much with it aside from the few nice cards.
However, I did like some of the few better cards and some of the art was very nice. Even the story was quite cool. But, when you balance the good to the bad, the bad just weights a bit to heavy to even counter the good.

This is Wizards' second attempt at a Japanese inspired block, & i gotta say, it turned out alot better then the first. It has Samurai & Ninja Creature types, each with their individual abilities, Nezumi & Kitsune, & a strong storyline. My only complant is that, unlike all the other blocks, it has no Direct link to the main storyline in Magic.

Ahhhh, yes. The divining top. That card was the only reason I even bothered with that set. Well, that and that one white/green deck that was centered around gaining life. That was badass.

Kamigawa was AMAZING in Limited formats. It was somewhat lacklustre in type two(although it did spawn some successes{Kokusho, Cranial, JITTE, Pithing Needle, Meloku, Keiga, and so on and so forth) However, it did donate a fair amount of cards to older formats, such as Gifts, which spawned an entire deck. Standard's extremely diverse now, thanks to it.
So, it was a good thing. Though, it resembled Onslaught in its tribality too much for me. Although, no tribal Kamigawa deck has yet risen to success.
Damn. I don't read the thread thoroughly and what happens? My post is almost exactly the same as Blair Phoenix's. Damndamndamn.
@Sorrow: Why would people use RGD block duals in Legacy? They've got the originals.

Sorry man, But i'll have to say thumbs up...I liked the storyline, and the cards were good too, except the fact that most of the good cards were either legendary, or rare enough I never got one...It was the block I spent the most on, and yes, Mirrodin was hacked.

Oh and another thing...Althought I did give it a thumbs up, I do have to agree that the block as a whole, kinda scked...My favorite thing I got out of it was the rats.... Person1 : (is about to tap mana to play a spell) Me "before you tap your mana I tap (somemuch) sacrafice these rat tokens and make you discard your hand."
Black-blue control!

my personal view of the guild was the fact that, like mirrodin, it was a one focus set, and that was spirits. all the power but no half decent way to channle it. take mirrodin as i said before as an example. tones and tones of power but with no way to channle it into good, constructive decks (yes i do rember anfinnity though i am trying hard to forgtet) kamigawa was the same with only having the spirits as the key focus.
still ill live by onslaught as one of the best sets out....

Onslaught was a wonderful set. Land art was fantastic, there was no real "broken" card, and let's not forget the cycling ability! (one of my personal favorites)
